Huge place with a live band and great service. Surprisingly empty for the night we came. Had a great cowboy ribeye and would definitely come back when in town.
Came here after a day at Bryce Canyon and capitol reef national parks. Place is really nice inside and very large. We came on an off season Wednesday in late October and it was quiet but still very inviting. We went for me nachos and she warned us they were a large portion but this plate was huge. SO GOOD. Wish I could have finished them but next came the buffalo meatloaf and that was also amazingly good. My girlfriend had the brisket sandwich and that too was outstanding. The food is very reasonably priced for the portion. I would definitely recommend this place and if I'm ever back in Torrey I will come again. Thanks Karla! We had a great time!
I dont know how cowboys bars should look like but this was the closest we got during our trip through Utah. The space is huge!!!! We had dinner here on Sunday night and it was quiet but we still liked it. I wish we had visited on Fri or Sat when they had live music! Dinner was really good. Huge portions! We had deep fried pickles, bison meatloaf and beef bbq ribs! Each entree comes with two sides. Staff was really friendly too! If we are ever back in Torrey we would definitely dine here again!! It may look like a warehouse from outside but dont get discouraged and give it a go! Great place!

There is actually no star for this place from me. Unfortunately you have to give a star, that's why this place got one. Here's my story. On May 23rd, 2015, my parents visiting from foreign countries and I entered this place hoping for a good lunch. With no waiters or waitresses greeting us at the door & our tummy rumbling, we decided to randomly sit down at a table in the sun room. The restaurant at this point was almost empty except 4 or 5 customers almost finishing up their meals. After a long while, a middle-aged blonde whom I assume to be the waitress swung by, staring rigidly at my beloved parents, coldly said, "this room and table is reserved for some groups. you guys can move to the other table." There is no introducing herself, no"please", no "would you mind", nor greetings or smile. It was almost like a command "go sit there". We still cooperated without wanting to cause anyone inconvenience and she randomly throw some utensils wrapped in napkins & menus at the table and left without a word. After a while we sat down at a corner table close to the gift shop, a larger group of American tourists (assuming from their accents) brought by a commercial bus fluxing in. They were seated, given coffee or water while we waited and waited for the return of the waitress. After probably another 15 minutes, she finally looked towards our direction. Yet she turned away and walked to the other customers again, starting to take their orders.Feeling ignored and ill-treated, we stood up and left. I honestly did not expect much cultural diversity in such a little town. However being 11 miles and the closest town from Capitol Reef National Park, I would expect foreigners being treated with fair respect. The whole experience was insulting and traumatizing to foreigners like us. I can't help but wondering what's the meaning behind all this.
We have eaten here twice on road trips. This is a time warp in a good way, from the 60's folk movement. It is a New age oasis. The food is well prepared, with options for vegetarians and meat eaters. The first time we had lunch, a couple years ago. I had the chicken sandwich, and boyfriend had something with beef. Everything was cooked nicely, and service was pleasant too. We had breakfast a few days ago, I had the Capital reef veggie omelet, and boyfriend had the waffles eggs, and bacon. Again everything was cooked nicely and tasted wholesome. They have a gift store with useful things like maps for sale too.
Great food! We had the ten vegetable salad and the Chicken and ribs combo! Delicious!!!

I ordered the sopes with carne asada and they were delicious. However I wish they would have had more of the red sauce on them and a bit of sour cream. They give you one complimentary basket of chips and salsa. The salsa is homemade but wasn't very flavorful. For me unlimited chips and salsa should be a given at a Mexican restaurant. Refried beans were also homemade but very watery and needed more salt. The Jamaica was good but a little more bitter than most restaurants serve which was fine with me but just a forewarning. Our waitress Donna was very kind and attentive. They brought out a coloring book and tub of crayons for our child which was much appreciated.
After a long day of travel & sightseeing, we went into LaCueva because it was right next to motel. Nicely appointed decor, a very helpful server (Donna), and good fajitas. Nice end to our day!
This place was great! I was apprehensive, being in Middle Utah and all, but I was very pleasantly surprised. For Torrey, this was dang good and for most of Utah it can certainly stand it's own. The word is that owner is on site and he does play an active role in the place, which shows that he cares and he does it well. He talks to every table and helps the staff out at every turn. The staff was capable, nice and did a great job. I had to go to the attached mini market to get my beer (not complaining and weird liquor laws be dammed! I got two bottle of import beer for $4.90! Take that 400% markup restaurants!) and walk it back over and the server opened it, brought me glasses and set me up. Couldn't have been happier. We ordered a combo plate for each of us and had the Chili Relleno and Gordita with rice and beans! It was wonderful! The relleno was HUGE! The Mole Chicken was delicious. Savory and sweet. Their Guacamole was fresh and homemade the salsa was flavorful and the extra hot she brought out was just that. Extra hot. The chips were also homemade. Nicely done too. We loved it all. I would go back. Wish they were in SLC.

It is surprising to find such a fine restaurant just outside of the Capitol Reef National Park. We were having a dinner after a long visit from the park. We tried to stay with a balanced diet, so my wife and I shared a rib plate and a large salad plate. The rib plate comes with a corn chowder. The salad is actually a pretty good sized meal with very good variety of vegetable. The corn chowder is quite delicious. For the ribs, I think it was a little overlooked (or overburned). The BBQ sauce was very good though. The spicy fries were actually quite interesting, and I recommend to try. The main complaint I had is the fact that the food preparation and the service can be slow. We were there for more than one and a half hour to get our dinner done - including half an hour wait for the food. It is obvious that they are under-staffed in both the kitchen and the dining area.
Being that Capitol Reef is one of the least visited national parks, I was expecting more of a wow factor when we arrived for dinner. I'll give them this- their patio has amazing views. Especially around sunset, which is when we were there. Sadly the patio is the best part. Menu has a large amount of pizzas to chose from, or you can build your own. For the price point, I expected something better. $20 for a large that is bland. I'm now finding myself googling child labor laws. The oldest waiter in the place was 14. How do I know? Well, two reasons. First, when we ordered beer, it would be delivered by a much older person. First give away with Utah's dumb ass laws. Second, when it was delivered, it was wrong. Not even close. Being the beer snobs we are, we would politely explain and the adult would get it correct. If you're in the neighborhood and don't mind my complaints, it's worth sitting on the patio for a few beers after a day of hiking. I'll give them that. Just skip the food. Also, explain your beer order. Carefully.
Great food and great service. Nice patio with a broad view of the red rocks at Capitol Reef N.P. Had a mole chicken entreé which was tasty, I thought they could use even more spice in it. Among the limited eating options nearby this is a great choice.

FAAAAAAAABUUUUUULOOOOOUS!!!!! Went here with family. We all had an idea of what the food would be and BOY WERE WE WRONG!! We were ecstatic with everything from the service to the food. We all even tried something new...Rattlesnake croquettes. They were delicious, I tell you! Lightly breaded and perfectly cooked. I'd eat it again! My cousin ordered the ribs, her partner had the crab and shrimp stack, My Mom had the Wild Mushroom dish, my Father had Lamb Shank and I had the Chili rubbed beef tenderloin. The presentation of food was spectacular and unexpected. We were all in heaven with our dishes and would GLADLY dine there again.
We were in Torrey 2 years ago and went to this restaurant and it was so different from other Southwestern places we've been too. When we were in Torrey this past April we heard it had changed hands and we're hoping it was as good as last time. It was. I had the Trout and it was excellent. The Citrus Salad was also outstanding. So glad we went back. Congratulations to the new owners.
We loved it. We're camping and decided to have dinner here on our last night in Torrey. It was excellent. My ribs were truly fall off the bone. The brussel sprouts were done perfectly as was the sweet potato mash. My husband loved his chile colorado. They even had a gluten free dessert. We are taking 3 boxes home. We'll be back next time we're here!

A surprisingly good little place in Torrey - great service, very friendly and helpful. They were unfortunately out of lasagna, and both the bison and game burgers when we visited for dinner. I had the fish and chips - nothing extraordinary, but they were good. Hubby had the mushroom burger and devoured it. Daughter had the small cheese pizza and loved it. Other daughter had the kids' cheeseburger and was happy too. (The kids' burger is more like a slider - small but ok for a younger kid) We also ordered ice cream - yum! They have quite a few choices of flavors and sizes. They also have beer and mixed drinks, too. Overall, a good deal and good food.
This place is a gem when you travel around there in Winter season. Usually you don't have good food when you are on a long road trip but this one! It is the only place open in town during that season but their burgers and fries have way more exceeded my expectation. The restaurant seems like a family owned business that only one lady serves and cooks with one another person. So during the lunch hour, it took relatively a long time to have the food we ordered but it was worth it! We ordered a cheese burger, jalapeno burgers and bacon cheeseburger. The burgers were properly cooked in pretzel buns (mmm) and the fries were so deliciously seasoned and fried! Although the lady was extremely busy, she was kind enough to serve everyone in the restaurant. The vibe there is a friendly small town restaurant. It reminded me of my grandma's small town.
Terrible service. Nobody helped us or even greeted us. Sat down and waited for 15 mins and not even a water in sight. Left after 15 minutes of nothininess. Keep driving past!
