Fantastic food in an awesome setting. Couldn't really ask for more after a big day on the mountain. Friendly, attentive, respectful service made us feel like locals. I would describe the food American style comfort food, extremely well executed using quality ingredients. Will definitely go back.
Yes! 2015 is my new favorite year for Shallow Shaft Had the delicious crispy brussels sprouts and the rather interesting pheasant poutine. I liked how they used large wedges of very crispy potatoes instead of regular french fries. This ensured that the potatoes did not become soggy even though they were smother with lots of rich pheasant gravy. I think I would have like a little more cheese curd, but overall this was a pretty good dish. The pan seared walleye I had for dinner was phenomenal. Very tender and cooked perfectly, also came with very nice lemon butter sauce that paired perfectly with the mild fish. I ate every single bite AND then I got dessert which was so much better than last year. We didn't get the bread so I can't comment on that but I tried the spice cake again and it was goooooood. Moist and warm with an added touch of crunch from little ginger pieces sprinkled on top. The cherry sauce also complimented the spiciness of the cake rather well. I think the added ginger really enhanced the flavor (and texture) this time, so this was a nice and much needed addition. I think it'll be a good year for food!
I've come here about once a year for the past 5 or so years. The food has been consistently excellent. The menu has something for everyone - kids and vegetarians included. The staff are lovely, and the decor the same as most of Alta's buildings - rustic and cozy.

My wife and I got carry out pasta from here. It was fine, but a bit on the heavy side for my taste. The service was kind of slow, as they didn't seem to have enough people working that night. But they manger was super friendly, and gave us free dessert and 20% off without us even complaining. All said: There don't really seem to be a lot of options up here, and this place did the trick. I'd go back!
Almost $20 for overcooked spaghetti with two golf ball sized meatballs. Flavorwise, the food here is pretty good and the pizza is tasty but the crust could use work. I like that they have a daily pasta special and their arugula salad was nice. I hate to take away a star, BUT for average/good food, I think the prices are way too high. I mean, there's a reason Olive Garden offers that "endless pasta bowl": because pasta is cheap. I don't really think a plain bowl of pasta with tomato sauce should cost so very much, so I guess that's my main issue with the Wildflower now. I realize the location most likely adds to the price but if people are paying that much, I think they at least deserve perfectly cooked spaghetti and maybe three or four meatballs, no?
I'm Italian, have been living in the US for over four years and this was the worst Italian cuisine experience I ever got to bear. Instead of bread, the bruschetta was an overcooked cracker with tasteless tomatoes and too tasty balsamic vinegar which is something you don't want to put on a bruschetta. The pizza was not edible with the worst tomato sauce I ever had and low quality cheese. The Pinot noir was too sugary and the Panna Cotta tasted like Walmart yogurt. But the chef, who acknowledged she had never been to Italy, was kind enough to offer deserts and one of the cheese pizzas, therefore two stars.

Definitely one of the nicest looking restaurants at snowbird. Very trendy and dim lighting, the lounge has large comfy couches and different places to sit. The bar looked pretty big. We were a bit disappointed in the food though. If you know what real fondue is do not order the fondue here! Our group was spoiled coming from NYC and Switzerland, but the fondue was just ick. The American meals - veggie wrap, salad were okay but nothing great. No one tried the sushi or the main courses. Large wine selection as well. Try it at least one of the nights.
Unfortunately, such a lovely resort as Snowbird has a disappointing restaurant. My pappardelle were tough and stuck together; also overly salty. My friend's pizza was not good either. I had a straight up martini for starters and the glass was warm with a few ice cube remnants floating about. Service was very pleasant but did not make up for the poor quality food. If you're stuck in Snowbird El Chanate is cheaper, simpler, and better. I'd even buy some junk food at the convenience store over the Aerie. Bad food makes me sad.
