My wife and I enjoy the Friday special, the pulled pork plate. Our usual sides are the baked potato casserole, and mac and cheese. Not withstanding the notoriety of the sweet tea incident, we've only been disappointed once in our dozen visits. To save a few bucks, gift certificates are available seasonally at Costco for about 20% off face value. They frequently have various coupons and specials, too. For example, my wife had a coupon for $5 off a $12 order. Without the coupons or gift certificates, it might be a little pricy. Let's not forget the smell of the smoker and BBQ when you walk in. That alone let's you know you're in for a good meal.

Just terrible. Go in and order a sliced brisket sandwich, and watch them microwave your brisket that is pre-wrapped in weighed portions stored in the mini fridge. These reviews SHOCK me. Have you ever eaten real BBQ? Utahns will eat anything!

Zero stars! Awful! Just horrible. Not just this location. Food was cold, far from fresh and horrible service.

Food was just ok no real flavor the ribs were mostly fat. My boys were excited for the ice cream after a barely average meal. Of course the ice cream did not work :( If you can spell your name and run the cash register you would be a superstar employee at Dickies If you graduated Junior High you are probably over qualified! !!!!! I could go on all day let's just say they were idiots

Guess all the bad reviews added up because I went to try and use my Groupon tonight and this location is closed. Feeling ripped off.

These Dicks Ripped ME OFF! Be-careful buying discount coupons for Dickey's. I should have know the first time I went in and saw the employees that they would soon end their run. I should have also know when they were selling tons of discount coupons on Groups, Social living and Amazon Local that something was up. They ripped off everyone of these guys, They knew what they were up to when they did it to.

Very disappointed on this location. Very bad service, especially because there were only a handful of costumers. Tables were dirty and restrooms were disgusting. The sweet tea was just watered down, the food came out cold and the ice cream did not. I didn't know it was possible to screw up ice cream.

Went there with my wife for her birthday. I got one of their groupons. They refused to honor the terms of the groupon. Even when I showed them the groupon terms don't refer at all to the 'terms' they made up as I ordered, they refused to honor their own marketing. Walked out. Stay away, they clearly don't care about customers.

On my first trip here they charged us quite a bit more than they were supposed to because they weren't paying attention/communicating and the guy who rang us up had no idea what he was doing. They ended up giving us our money back and still giving us food which was very nice. The food was mediocre. I got the "onion tangles" and they were not good and made me sick. But I decided to write it off as a bad night and since they gave us free food I thought it would be nice if we tried again. On our second trip the girl taking our orders asked me what I ordered 4 separate times. No one seemed to know what they were doing, and the food was, once again, mediocre. Not worth the hassle.

(there are currently 2 Yelp entries of this same restaurant location - I'm reposting my review here in case the other one gets consolidated) Fast food BBQ ... "It'll getcha full!" Unique, and a pretty good value for your $. Dickey's is way better than most fast food, but not quite up to par with "real" bbq. They have a good variety on the menu with lots of options. I got a pulled pork sandwich combo for lunch the week after they opened. The pork was a bit watery and not super flavorful, but I'm pretty picky. I liked the sauce. It was good, but not a sandwich I've been craving ever since, ya know? I did end up going back for the grand opening today since they were doing a killer deal. Big crowd, and the sandwich was good again. The waffle fries are a fun twist (like normal fries, but with more dimensions!) The restaurant was clean (well, it was also brand new) and the staff was very friendly. The huge pickle jar is a nice tourist attraction, and - don't forget! - they free unlimited amounts of the worst soft-serve vanilla ice cream I've ever had. But it's free! Bottom line: a fun alternative for lunch or casual dinner. You probably won't hate it.

I am here visiting from California. The food was great, the employees were very nice, and free ice cream!

Personally, I don't know what Ian is talking about. I don't think the word "obtuse" sounds "cool." This is a chain barbecue joint that actually serves up a quality product at a reasonable price. Sliced brisket and those spicy sausages are my favorites. Lots to choose from as sides, generous portions, efficient staff, clean and tidy. I'm not one to stand in line when eating out with my family but it's not bad on a Sunday night when you're the only customers in the house. You get free soft serve ice cream but there's a reason it's free. It's pretty gross but you get to dispense it yourself.. They don't offer corn bread but do give you this lame roll. Butter and honey is available. You get these bright, sturdy yellow plastic drinking cups to take home. Service has always been stellar here. I'm treated like a king and I've patronized this place merely four times. Ask for samples and they'll feed you so much all you'll have room for at the register is a refreshing beverage. They've got some desserts but they're not going to win any pastry awards anytime soon. Deborah is great! Conscientious, authentic, generous... It's obvious she cares and goes above and beyond. I wish I had a frnachise empire so I could hire her away! I say go. I think they're slow for lunches but busy for dinners except Sunday nights. Sunday nights in Sandy... Could be a great Indie movie title!

Very unprofessional. I really wanted to like it. It's pretty tasty. Toddler likes the marinated chicken kid plate with mac and cheese. Offers free for kids on sunday. Which was great the very first time we stopped by. Since then, they have failed to execute any semblance of customer respecting behavior. I gave them a lot of chances to work it out and do better. I kept trying to be their customer. I have run out of personal resolve, it is clear that there needs to be more effort and some kind of change in the work environment and attitude. The purpose of this review is to get out the frustration.. at this point I've been charged for an order that was validly placed and that they refused to fill when I arrived. What they have offered me here is barely even close to acceptable treatment of customers that should be extremely valued to either a new or long-running customer serving organization. Poorer than average at first and now this happens. They have the potential to be great, but only with a real focus on everyday customers. I hope that someone there is aware of these problems and can help turn it around, because I like this place and have just been stunned by my experiences with the staff.

This is my favorite Dickeys location in Utah. Restaurant is clean, staff is nice and the food is always good. I recommend the ribs, if you like dry rubbed robs that is. Love that you get a free vanilla cone too.

A funny name, earnest service, and free pickles and ice cream make me smile. The meats are just fine and the sides are above average. I especially like the potato casserole. Love their sauces. Dickey's is a fast growing chain, but they have a legitimate history. Better than Sonny Bryan's. Not as good as Famous Dave's. It's good, OK?

It was my first time here and it was a poor experience. We ordered pulled pork and they were out, then we tried for smoked turkey and they were out of that as well. They were also out of chicken. We ended up with brisket and ham. The brisket is served cold. The same thing happened with the sides. They said it would be 20 minutes for beans. They were out of the potato casserole and brought a big bag out from the back and served them cold also, straight from the refrigerator. I asked for butter for the rolls and they brought out a small dish of melted butter. It seemed so odd. The cashier, John, who is the manager said my card was declined. He ran it twice. Then he said he needed another form of payment so I gave him my American Express and went in the back to run it. I immediately called my bank since I have never had this problem before and they said there was no problem with my card. When I got home, I noticed that my first card as well as my American Express had both been charged. I called John to let him know and he said a scam is going around and people are trying to get free food so I would need to bring in a copy of my bank statement from both cards and he would give me more poor quality food. He remembered the situation, but still insisted that I might be scamming him. I will never return to this Dickey's ever again.

Had a brisket sandwich and it was delicious as were the macaroni and cheese and the waffle fries. Everything was fresh and hot and the service was great too. They made me feel welcome and took the time to explain the different items and plates.

One of the worst customer services I've experienced. We came in on a Sunday, where two employees were "working". No greeting or offer to introduce the menu, just standing there staring at us to order. When we ordered a combination meal, all they gave us was the meat and sides and we had to go back to ask for the bbq sauce, rolls and butter that was given to us with no apologies or explanations. Food was okay, but bad service made it hard to be comfortable and enjoy the dinner.

We visited Dickey's in Sandy for the first time today. Service was A-1, very friendly staff, very clean dinning area. We tried the 2 meat plates, I had the pulled pork and beef brisket. The wife had the pulled pork and spicy cheddar sausage. I have to say, out of everything I tried there, the spicy cheddar sausage is some of the best I've ever had. I plan on eating here many more times and I recommend this place to all.

First time to a Dickey's. Tasted like most things were out of a can or package and warmed up, I'm not sure if they actually cook anything in the restaurant. Meh.

I've been to Dickey's a few times, mostly because my 11 year-old likes it. The meats are quite good but the sides are mediocre at best. The service is not great. Manager seems very stressed out. Our last visit will be the last as the worker who helped us was sweating so much, I thought it was going to drip down into our food.

I eat here often. Usually sandwiches. Very clean, great properly prepared food, quick with a happy atmosphere. I go in the evening and credit the management (CHRIS) for the excellent experience.

My five star comes to them for the level of service that is stellar! I ask for something specific and I get it. Never a question asked for the exception, but rather a cheerful YES. The set up in the dining room is great, the place is clean, staff very friendly and the portion to price is reasonable.
