If you hate food and beer, then look no further, this is the pub for you! Located conveniently as the only pub near camping in the Uinta mountains, if you sit down at this restaurant, the waitress will successfully avoid making eye contact with you. Are you assertive? Don't worry! She is a skilled non-communicator and will slyly brush your questions away. On a budget? Perfect! You will spend zero money here, since the pool game you play while waiting for ANY acknowledgement from the staff is 100% FREE! Seriously, you guys. This place has it all! A nice, quiet patio where you won't have to deal with an annoying waitress asking you what you want to order or making sure you know she knows you're there, free pool, water that you have to get yourself (so convenient since you could relive your Oregon Trail days and die of dehydration if you had to wait for someone to bring it to you). If you love a nice, cool building to sit and drink warm water, don't hesitate to stop here. However, if you enjoy tasty food for a reasonable price and prompt service, check out Uinta Drive In, just down the road. Not open as late, but they served us even though we walked in at closing time. (We would have gotten there earlier, but as I mentioned earlier, we were busy enjoying the quiet, avoidant atmosphere of The Notch).

Just got done a hike in the Unintas. Was in the mood for a beer and some lunch. Driven by this place 50 times at least...figured I'd give it a try. I walked in to a completely empty bar at 12:30 in the afternoon the day after Labor Day. I get the "oh god" look as I enter. Did not make eye contact, say hello, welcome me....nothing....I'm the ONLY person in the place...what a joke...I had to ask her for a beer....both times....never offered a menu or asked if I wanted something to eat....never said 2 words to me the whole time. .....she had her head buried in the laptop like she'd never seen one before.. completely unacceptable. Must get paid by the hour. You are in the wrong business lady... I see McDonalds in your future...actaully they're way better and trained. Very nice place, some old pics could go but overall when you walk in you're thinking this will be good. After spending most of my life in hospitality I realize you can't always be on your game..this was laughable. First time in my life I didn't leave a tip. If that's the person representing your company...you might wanna rethink your strategy. Have some pride people. Get off you ass! Leave your laptop at home....it's a business. Embarrassing. I could turn this place around in 1 week. Called training.

Really bad food, really poor service, and EXPENSIVE for no good reason: probably about double the price of what everything on the menu should be. Place was nearly empty when we walked in, and we were the only ones there that appeared to be ordering any food. Nonetheless, it took about 45 minutes to get an appetizer ($7 plate of cheese fries, which consisted of some soggy frozen fries with a small amount of cheese melted over them), and probably an hour to get four simple lunch orders: 2 burgers ($12 each), a small bowl of soup ($7!), and chicken wings ($1.30 each, $7.80 for six wings). None of the food was very good at all. Pretty much tasteless. Waitress never returned to the table at any point to take drink orders, nor to deliver the bill. Had to get up from the table and head to the bar to find someone to print out the bill so we could (finally) leave. Won't be back again. It's too bad, too. Because this place is conveniently situated to offer tasty and timely fare for people coming out of the Uintas. But I wouldn't bother, if I were you.

Notch-sure what all the hype is about. I looked up the web site before we went. The menu that was posted listed burgers for $9. When we got there, however, the burger was actually $12. Make no mistake, this is a bar... that happens to serve food ("Pub" usually means something a little more family friendly to me). The bartender was friendly and helpful but they had loud, raucous, metalhead music blasting in the middle of the day. We tried to sit outside on the patio but the drunk-before-noon crowd dominated the atmosphere. We would have left and gone elsewhere, but we had already been to a few other places in the area. They were also fairly pricey and the one that wasn't (the local drug store, which had won awards for their burgers) had quite a wait to get in... you'd think the pricey dives would catch a clue. When our burgers came, they really weren't worthy of all the stars here on Yelp. They were pretty big burgers but they had that gray, not cooked much look. The grilled onions were more like grilled onion skins... tough and inedible. All-in-all we were pretty disappointed given all the hype.

This is a no frills pub food is good. Keep in mind it is Bar Food not fine dining or cuisine. The reason for a full 5 out of 5 because its not Park City...... good tavern feel...I had a veggie burger the husband had a chicken sandwich both came on-top a pile of the largest pile of fries I have ever seen. We are going back for the live music this weekend a local firefighter that sings Johnny Cash music.....now you are getting closer to the reasons for the five out of the five stars. If you are looking for a quiet little get away from the touristsssssssssss.....hit the notch

Fantastic. Far enough for no cell service, close enough to leave park city for a quick lunch and drink. 15 minutes up mirror lake highway.

The notch is amazing. Extremely friendly staff, great atmosphere, and really good food. Live music on the weekends, excellent prices.... I could go on and on. This is what a small town bar should be. Excellent patio, pool tables, total lack of PC snobbery. Head up in the uintas then stop by here on your way out to grab a damn good burger and some beers with friends.

Good food, good selection of real beer, friendly service. Had the biggest yummiest burger I have had in forever, along with a big-ole-pile of krinkle fries [win!]. Friend had the fish and chips... apparently far superior to those served at the Uinta Drive-In down the road a bit. Perfect place for a stop on the way back into town....nothing hits the spot after a trip in the mountains like kicking back on a patio with a good beer and good food.

If you happen to be in Kamas or coming down from the Mirror Lake highway please be sure to stop by the Notch especially on Tueday when they have their 2 for 1 burger baskets. So juicy and made with ground tri tip sirloin and house smoked cheddar cheese. Great list of beers on tap and killer margaritas. Alene is great and so helpfull. We have been three times and never dissapointed. Highly reccomend!!

After reading all the negative Yelp reviews, my friend and I decided to drive out to the Notch on a lark to see how abused we would be. Our bartender (the lovely Jules, maybe?) was flat-out awesome, and everyone at the bar on the Sunday afternoon we visited was friendly and exchanging banter. The photos and comments about the atmosphere here just don't do the place justice. It's stunning: rustic warm & wooden, clean, fresh flowers on the tables, a spacious patio with country views; the quality pool tables in the large entry room are a bonus. Our burger was great, arrived within minutes, and heck, we enjoyed the heck out of the "frozen" crinkle fries so many reviewers bitched about. Can't wait to go back on the weekend and dig some live tunes! One more thing, as the place suddenly filled up, Jules was like a multitasking magician, greeting, serving, recommending, informing, etc.

We tried to have dinner here Thursday night but we're thoroughly ignored by the staff. They didn't even acknowledge us. It wasn't even busy! We went down the street to Uinta drive in and got the same good for half the price and much better service.
