dirty, food was gross, i ordered the chicken chow main, it tasted like it came out of a can, the lettuce wraps were really greasy, what I hated most was staring at the disgusting giant gold fish in that disgusting tank! get rid of that tank!

This was a fun find. Out in the middle of now where almost. Ordered the potstickers and honey walnut shrimp. Both were delicious. I was a little skeptical cause the joint was empty but alas.. the food is yummy so I will go back.

Great lunch specials for a very reasonable price. I almost always get the Kung Pow Chicken (they do it right and add the peanuts last instead of throwing them in with all of the other ingredients), its better than anything else I've tried. The hot and sour soup is the bst hot and sour soup I've had anywhere (pepery with little mushroom chuncks in it). have never left this place unsatisfied.

I LOVE this place! The walnut shrip ia amazing, and the staff is always friendly! Give it a try!

Awesome family business! The prices are great, and our take out orders are always correct. My favorite item is the Pon Pon Chicken, and the cream cheese won tons are amazing!

I always eat here and love it. Takeouts accurate, foods delicious and the staff is great!

Love the orange peel chicken. Great flavor and tender meat. Love their egg drop soip. Family favorite with free delivery. Had some issues in the past with reasonable time on delivery but they seem to have ironed it out. Last several times the delivery was quick and easy. Other favorites are chicken lo mein, beef and broccoli. Cashew shrimp is ok. Only dish we haven't liked is the sweet and sour chicken.

Best General Tsao's Shrimp in the Universe The classy Kenny G music and World Cup on the TV just made it perfect. :)

Love the Pon Pon Chicken! It's nothing fancy inside, but the older gentleman who has served us both times we've gone has been great. He is kind, and is on top on his job. Food comes fast and tastes great! Worth it!

I don't know if it was because we went on Chinese New Years unknowingly, but this was the worst Chinese I've ever had. I went at the suggestion of my girlfriend claiming they had pretty good food as she ate there many times before, and even she walked out that day very disappointed at what was given to us. Everything was overcooked, flavorless, and just terrible. We have not wanted to go back since then.

Nice atmosphere. A lot of take out orders. Not to many people in the restaurant. Ordered the Cashew Nuts Shrimp as a dinner combo. A lot of food. Attentive waitress.

  • Jordan H.

Really understaffed if you want to dine in. Took almost a half hour to get any of the food. My drink barely got refilled, and the food was just ok. If it's your only option, fine.

  • Mason H.

Ordered for take out. Nice helpful staff, A TON of food for a reasonable price, and convenient drive thru! Food is good but not amazing, I ordered the sweet and sour chicken dinner combo. They gave me an extra sprite for free as well!

The perfect place to get food when you want a nice meal without having to take the kids out in public or slaving over a hot stove. Nothing super special about "China Food Place" (or so the kids call it) but it gives us exactly what we need when we've had a long day and want to sit down with the family and have a tasty meal. Pro Tip: Call in your order 15 minutes before you get there and then just pick up your food in their convenient drive through.

Freshly made General Tso chicken. Crispy chicken, just the right spice in the sauce. Perfect. Very good egg drop soup as well. Not busy at all for lunch. Presumably dinner is busier since this is a residential area.

Fantastic service. Very friendly. Food was very good. The egg drop soup was hot and delicious. The sesame chicken was packed with flavor. The beef vegetables with brown sauce were fantastic. The vegetables were crisp and not over cooked. We loved it!

Good Chinese food, love that they have a drive thru. The food is good and made when you order So it's super fresh. I love it and whenever I want Chinese food without the fear of death of salmonella, I choose China chefs.

The restaurant was really dirty. The food was not good. It was overpriced. The phone customer service is bad. I would recommend you go somewhere else. I had the teriyaki chicken and it had some terrible breading that flaked off with flavorless sauce. It was on a bed of cooked iceberg lettuce I don't know of any reason to cook iceberg lettuce it was soggy and gross. My money would have been better spent at Panda Express.

Like most Chinese restaurants in Utah, it was good, but didn't blow me away. The service was amazing. Our server was very attentive and got our food quickly. We were in and out of the place in 30-40 minutes. We ordered the Pon Pon Chicken, which seemed to have been sitting out for a while. The chicken was not crispy or hot (pretty soggy) and the sauce could have been a bit more spicy (it was a little bland). The crab wontons were REALLY good. Overall, the service was A+ and the food might have been good had it been fresher.

I love this place! The owners are so nice and the drive thru service is super fast! Such good sweet n sour chicken I crave it all the time!!! The price is really good as well!

The food is always hot and delicious. The Kung pow chicken is great. We have eaten here many times and never been disappointed.

Great Chinese! For being in Riverton this is as good as it's going to get. Sit down service can be a little slow but hey they also have a drive through. The hot and sour soup is right on par. The combination noodles and the lemon chicken are my go to! I can order and pick up within 15 minutes. What's not to love.

We got tired of bad Chinese food that all tasted the same. It was so bad I couldn't get my wife to go with me to get Chines food. As we were moving from Lehi, UT area to Herriman, UT area we stopped to eat at China Chefs. All 3 of us ordered something different and each one of the sauces had a different flavor to them! They give you a TON of food, so don't look at the price as being too high because chances are you'll have enough left over for your next meal too; we certainly did! Finally, it's hard to find a good hot and sour soup and theirs was decent if not pretty good! Now I know about China Chefs I won't go anywhere else. LOVE IT!!

This is is an Average American Chinese restaurant , wasn't bad food but it wasn't great either. The sauces were a little watered down. Friendly staff and fairly clean. I will probably not eat here again.

This came highly recommended. Our selections were of average quality but good-sized portions. The price is right but I was expecting better flavors!

  • Aubrey H.

We always order here for takeout. We love a good sweet and sour chicken and theirs hits the spot. A good amount of food for the price. We always are happy after eating from here.

The food at China Chefs is super fresh! The flavors of the meats, veggies and sauces are all great and everything is cooked to perfection. The place is clean and crisp. Nothing but love for this place.

I thought the food was pretty good. My wife wasnt too pleased with it. Nice people who run the place, but slow on service.

Excellent rolls, great menu selections. My wife can't getenough ofthe jale hama. Can't wait to come back!

  • Corey R.

The food is good, I'll give them that but the service is poor when ordering takeout. They are slow, unorganized and they commit the unpardonable sin of leaving items out of your order EVERY TIME! I can forgive a mistake but when it is made consistently it is no longer a mistake it is just a lack of attention to detail which results in very poor customer service.

This place is amazing. Some of the best Chinese food we've ever had! The Pon Pon chicken and Mongolian Beef are excellent. Great service and very well priced. Where else can you go and feed a family of 4 for 30.00. I would recommend this place to anyone.

We made the China Chefs discovery while in "new to Riverton and looking for acceptable Chinese take-out" mode. It's been our go-to take-out joint for about three years now. It's in a great west 126th South location; but is somewhat invisible when you're powering through the lights on Bangerter. I'm compelled to begin with my favorite thing about China Chefs - take out DRIVE-THROUGH PICKUP WINDOW. Considering how much I enjoy their food, this is huge. You call in your order, they give you an approximate pick up time, and you simply drive through and collect your treasures. It's positively magical. Oh, sure, you'll get the occasional moron who chooses to place an order through the take-out window, getting stuck in line, and holding up all the pick-ups behind them. It would be so great if restaurant management started asking these geniuses to pull off queue and come back in 20 minutes. But they're SO nice here, chances are that won't ever happen. Which brings me to my second favorite thing about China Chefs - the owner/manager, and the extraordinary customer service practiced here. I've rarely experienced the genuinely friendly service like we receive at China Chefs. Regardless of how crazy-busy it is inside, at the drive-up window we have always been treated like the only customers they have. The owner/manager typically works the window, and she is fabulous. She always pauses to chat; asking how our day is going, and giving her thumbs up on what we've ordered (I think she gets a kick out of the fact that we always order "very spicy" and because of our longevity she knows exactly how to do it up right for us). Let me take this opportunity to state that we've never eaten inside the restaurant, so I can't comment on how the wait staff service is. However, believing that an owner/manager sets a cardinal example, I would assume that it's also very good. I realize that this is an awful lot of banter about the place before even delving into the subject of their food. However, at China Chefs, the food is also a bright star. I'm not sure what "authentic" Chinese food is supposed to taste like, so I certainly can't say this is or isn't it. But I know what tastes good, and this does! Whether it's Americanized or not, I don't really care, because it's delicious. Having tried just about everything on the menu, we've developed a special fondness for the following entrees: - Kung Pao/Mandarin, Szechuan, and Hunan style chicken (xtra spicy) - Dragon & Phoenix (chicken and shrimp with veggies) - Double Delight Shrimp (shrimp two ways) - Lemon Chicken (great sauce!) Regarding apps, they offer a very standard set with no solid stand-outs. All of them we've tried have been very good. Their house special soup is WonTon, and it is quite tasty. But I'm a big fan of their Hot & Sour - not a great deal different than I've had it elsewhere, but somehow better...? I usually get a large order of H&S soup to have in the fridge for the inevitable challenges coming in the week ahead. Soup of the Gods. Although I've never taken advantage of it, I absolutely LOVE that they offer a Root Beer Float on their dessert menu. Not sure why, but this just endears this place further in my little pea-pickin heart. The only disappointment for me is their lo-mein. The noodles are gluey and tasteless. Just not right. China Chefs is open 7 days a week - this means even Sunday, Utahns! If you're looking for some very tasty Chimerican, give them a try. I'm betting you'll be satisfied.

The food is very good. It suffered a but when they opened a second location but thankfully thy closed that and the food is back to being great again. The best part is the service you get if you're somewhat regular they treat you like royalty.

Good food. The takeout portions are very generous. We ordered two entrees (for two people) and had enough for at least one more meal. The drive-thru pickup is very convenient. We just called in the order and picked it up fifteen minutes later. We tried the General Tso's chicken and Cashew Stir Fry.

Great food and generous proportions. General's chicken is delicious and has just the right amount of sauce...so yummy!

I wasn't expecting much from a Chinese restaurant around here. There are only a small handful of Chinese restaurants which I call decent. I was pleasantly surprised. We ordered a few dishes for a party and they were all pretty good.

Crappy American Chinese food. I have no idea why it always looks packed.

  • Adam S.

Look, there is something to be said about crappy American Chinese food, and this is some decent American Chinese. The Pan Fried noodles are a little greasy, but yummy crunchy, and the veggie's are good that accompany. The takeout drive thru window is very uniquely absurd and quintessential . . . ummm. . . well. . . chinese. I have never eaten in the restaurant, only having done takeout, which I have done several times.

Americanized Chinese food worth eating! Its surprising, but i was extremely happy with this restaurant. My wife enjoys Americanized Chinese food but i typically find it bland and homogeneous. China Chef however, offers Chinese food that, while it is not full of "scary" and "exotic" ingredients like traditional Chinese food, is delicious and has an Asian feel. The sauces have distinct flavor and they are not afraid to utilize tastes other than meat and salt. I would definitely recommend this place and hope it is a sign that American Chinese food is taking a turn for the better.

My wife and I just recently moved to South Jordan. We both love fine cuisine, so naturally the first thing we do is try to find good local restaurants. On our way to Walmart we saw this chinese restaurant that was packed. We assumed that it must be good if so many people liked it (you know what assuming gets ya). We passed it many more times and every time the place was packed. One night on our way back from wally world we decided to try it. As we waited in line we were greeted with some of the most delicious smells I have ever smelled in any restaurant. As we finally pulled up to the pick up window (yes this place has a drive-thru and you always have to be a little suspicious of higher end restaurants that have a drive-thru) and received our food both my wife and I started to giggle like little school girls because the food smelled so good. We could hardly wait as we started to tear through the packaging. As we started to eat the sense of utter disappoint crossed our faces. I continued to eat this very under seasoned food mad at myself for spending $35 on this junk. This was like a horrible Christmas day, which I never had, when you have been waiting for this toy that would define you as a person and revolutionize your play time. The outside dimensions look like the box the toy comes in, you can even smell the glorious plastic that it has been made out of only to open it and find out that your mom cleverly wrapped underwear. I do not suggest this place at all. I am still flabbergasted at how many people continue to eat there and have decided not to trust the masses in Utah.

I was really shocked by this restaurant. First, at how long it was to get my food, and then by the great food they delivered. I would say that it's not the best Chinese food I have ever had - doesn't compare to J. Wong's in downtown SLC or Snappy Dragon in Seattle's Northgate area, but it's a keeper for sure. They have great flavor, although I'm sure MSG as well. It's your typical Christmas Day sort of place with good enough food to keep me coming back. And I'm a bit hard to please with Chinese food, so check them out.

Saw when I went to get a car wash. I love Chinese so I was excited to try it. Went and got the moo goo guy pan and the cream cheese Rangoon. Boyfriend got some Phoenix Dragon thing. Everything was good. Not a huge fan of the egg drop soup. Service was nice and attentive. Will be back

I've eaten here quite a few times and every time I want to take a photo of the food I forget because it's Chinese food and it's better served to be eaten than photographed. I'm a creature of habit here and every time I've eaten here it's been the lunch or dinner combo for general tso's chicken with ham fried rice. SO MUCH FOOD!!!!It also helps that it tastes good, not great. This is the perfect place to go if you need dinner and possibly leftover for lunch the next day. I love the portions, but wished the chicken wasn't as soaked in the sauce because it makes it soggy from time to time. That alone won't stop me from eating here again, but it's just one of my gripes. The fried shrimp, eggrolls and cheese wonton is also a huge plus to the combo plates they serve. Maybe next time I'll mix it up, but I doubt it.

Best Chinese food in town!! Never dissatisfied with the food or service. Thank you China Chefs for being so consistant and friendly!

I ordered online at 11:00 am for delivery to be delivered at 6:00 PM. With it being New Year's Eve I figured this was a good call. At 6:30 the people at the party started to wonder if we should call. I tried and tried but it kept going to voicemail. By 6:45 I got a hold of them and they said it would be sent right out. 45 minutes later I called again. Still no food. I got disconnected twice then finally talked to the manager. She informed me that it was out of her control. They got busy at about 3:00. I told her that doesn't matter since I ordered it at 11:00. This is a reflection of poor management not a busy day. Last time they will get my money. I am upset I pre-paid on the tip. I can't comment on the quality of the food, since two hours later it still hasn't arrived.

Great food, great service. We were worried about going in 15 min before closing, so decided we'd just order "to go". They were so friendly and welcoming, not bothered at all that we came in close to closing time (which is really rare). Our food was prepared quickly. It was delicious! I do wish they'd given us a little more rice (two entrees ordered, only one small container of rice)- which is the only reason this was not a five star rating.

  • Sal M.

Real good Chinese food, they even have a drive-thru which is a plus! Had their Walnut Shrimp, Fried Rice, Orange Chicken and Beef Chow Mein. Great Stuff

  • Ryan T.

We ordered sesame chicken lo mein and fried rice. The lo mein and fried rice were decent but they brought a sweet-and-sour chicken instead of sesame. They messed up the order for the people next to us as well. The sweet-and-sour chicken was soft and and had too much sauce on it. Just your basic run-of-the-mill American Chinese food place.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
