We were passing through Utah and decided to give this place a try. It is located right next to the freeway for easy access. The interior of the restaurant has a country diner decor and feel. Our waitress was very friendly and quick to take our order. I ordered the shrimp scampi, which was a little spicy, and the shrimp were big and delicious. My daughter ordered the 1/3 pound western burger, which she said was very good. The portions are huge, we were unable to finish our food. I would recommend this restaurant, and would stop again if I was in the area!

Great food and excellent service! Fried shrimp with baked beans and mashed potatoes. Deeelish!! My son ate the club sandwich. The French fries are off the chart good. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Amazing flavor and taste!

Would actually give it 2 1/2 stars. Friendly staff, OK food, not worth the prices though in my opinion. Prices are comparable to Black Angus but the food is much better there. I chose the chicken Alfredo pasta dish, and my husband had the flatiron steak. We both said "It was fine" as in "I was hungry and it was ok but not great". Next time we pass through, we'll just go to Subway. Lol

We were driving through Utah and made a overnight stop in Richfield. This restaurant was open and had a beautiful log cabin look so we went in. The food is good. Service is good. I had a steak and my wife had the pot roast and we both loved it. Food was fresh, and servers were friendly. I gave 4 star because it was a steak dinner without wine as Utah is a dry state and hard to find establishment with wine, beer or liquor. I will recommend this restaurant.

Seafood omelette was quite good although the huge slice of avocado helped. The hash browns were very crisp and tasty, but the pancakes were stellar. I'm guessing made with cream and not milk as they tasted almost like cake.

We had dinner at Frontier Village this afternoon. Lisa was our waitress. The food was excellent, as was the service. Lisa made sure we had everything we needed and that we were doing good the entire meal. The cook today gets kudos as well. I had their flatiron steak. I ordered it as rare as they could legally serve it. He nailed it! You can not go wrong eating here.

One word: YUCK. Why did I come here? Don't ask, but between exhaustion and starvation I had to get something in my craw. Because I get hangry (hungry/angry) and I am miserable human to be around if I haven't eaten. I was staying just one night at the Holiday Inn Express, just up the road from Frontier Village. I drove in late from Las Vegas, about 8:30pm and was totally famished. I'd had about enough trail mix for a lifetime and was ready for some real food. So I decided to ask the guy at the front desk for insight on the food situation. He suggested The Frontier Village, (commence banjo music), at the end of the road. This is where things get ugly. We were seated by a polite waitress and were given menus. By the way, the building is frightening! Not only is it old, but actually terrifying. The ambiance in this place is pretty awful. Very strange teal carpet, fake flowers and super bright lights. It was unpleasant, The menus were very confusing and nothing really sounded that good. I ended up choosing the Cobb Salad with no bacon. And then I waited for a very long time, slowly getting hangrier... By the time the food got to the table, I was practically eating the napkins. The salad looked pretty bad. The lettuce was wilted, the egg was over done and tomatoes looked very old. But I did not have a choice. I dug in, eating quickly so I could leave. It tasted like mayo and yuck. The wilted lettuce was dripping with whatever dressing they decided to put on it. I got about halfway through it and had to stop. I paid and disappointingly walked back to my hotel. Long story short, I ended up with a terrible stomach ache that lasted all night. I have no idea what was in that "salad", but I honestly don't want to know. Consider yourself warned, this is not the place to stop for a quick bite to eat.

The decorations were beautiful, let me felt warm. The salad is included in the meal. I like it. My husband ordered Cajun shrimp pasta, $13.99. We both like it. But the bread was not as good as well. My Cajun wrap was delicious. It was lucky to have such a place for dinner near our hotel.

Stopped in for a bite to eat before going to a concert. Definitely small town charm. Hostess and waitress were both friendly. We were seated at a small table near the bathroom hall and kitchen entrance so it was a little noisy. Food was delicious! They had decent portion sizes for what they charged. Service was a little slow... Took about 25 minutes to get our food. Overall, good place to stop if in the area!

My wife and I had dinner at Frontier Village and enjoyed it. The service was very friendly and prompt. The food was good, but the apple pie was lacking. We both had the California Chicken Burger, a chicken breast with bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado and dressing on a kaiser-style bun. It was excellent, particularly the bacon, which was lean and well-smoked. I ordered their homemade apple pie for dessert and was disappointed. The apples were compote and there was not enough of them. The crust was mushy, not flaky or crisp. It could have been much better.

Had the pulled BBQ sandwich. Kasey was my server she was awesome. Great food and great service will come back again.

We headed out for Big Bones BBQ and thought this was it and it was next door, no driving. Oops! Oh well, we stayed here and it was good but for a couple minuses; the wife asked for her Angus Steak Tips medium well and it came out well done. my Tri-Tip was flavorful but tough! All else was good. As this may be our last trip across I 70, this, sadly may also our last stop at Richfield.

A pretty good restaurant for Richfield. Their French fries are excellent. My favorite meal is the big Lucy! They also serve beer so that's a plus. Prices are decent, and the service is ok.

We've stopped here twice and have had great service and really good food. The pork hash is fantastic! My husband said the pancakes were very good. Staff is attentive and friendly. Our server was Ashley both times and she was great!

Really yummy, fresh food. I would totally stop and eat here again. The restaurant was clean and the service was friendly and prompt. Definitely give this place a try!

What a great find. We stopped in here along our road trip, after seeing good reviews on Yelp. Inside, the restaurant was windowless and therefore pretty dark, which was honestly a bit of a turn off for us (personal preference, I guess), but we chose a table outside. On the huge deck, it was just us and one other couple - I couldn't believe everyone was sitting inside! It was a beautiful summer evening, 75 degrees, huge mountains lining the horizon, and a bright yellow full moon. We leaned back in our chairs and enjoyed ourselves immensely. As many people on Yelp mentioned, the chicken cordon bleu is very satisfying, especially after a long day of driving. Our waitress was the sweetest thing, and when we went to ask for dessert, she insisted that we head down the street to Ideal Dairy for ice cream (also highly recommended!) I really appreciated the gesture, and it showed us that her pride for her hometown and desire to show it off exceeded her interest in bumping the bill up an extra $10. Excellent experience.

My wife and I are older and we don't usually need really large portions. We ordered the special which included ribs and chicken and asked them to make it for two. We also added a salad. The meal was excellent and was plenty for the two of us. Very tasty, good fresh salad, and generally very well prepared. The service was very pleasant and quick, although we were there in a light traffic time. Sometimes that is a plus, sometimes not, but in this case we were well cared for. The prices were reasonable, even we had each selected an entree, but with our sharing it was even more so. The location is very convenient and easily accessible from the thoroughfare.

Passing through with the family. Most everyone got the Country Skillet and they all love it. Our waitress, Jacquell, was very friendly and got everyone's orders correct, and most of us had special requests. The food was great and there was lots of it!

This was a good pit stop restaurant. My salad was good, nothing extraordinary but good. Kids enjoyed their chicken tenders- fries were delicious! I would never say it's a must go to restaurant or fabulous. Just food that tastes good and serves it's purpose. My only complaint is that when u walk in the whole restaurant smelled like sour dish towels- maybe they don't wash their table rags enuf. But my whole family smelled it- kind of a turn off!

When my lil family lived in Ephraim we would drive the hour just to eat at this place. I don't understand the negative reviews, it isn't dirty at all or creepy. The food is exceptional and the service is great. They are a truly family friendly restuarant and even brought out a treasure chest with little toys for my kids to pick out. Awesome food, great service, and I can't wait to be back in Richfield so I can enjoy this place some more!

Our family is from this area. Being 2014 was the year of our parents 100th birthday, so on their 77th wedding anniversary, we had a large family reunion. It was hard to decide where we would have the dinner. In looking at the Richfield area I found this place. It looked like they had a great selection of food for all of our picky diets and likes. They were most accommodating in allowing us to put up an easel for family photo's and taking over one of their rooms and making a lot of noise with laughter and joyful teasing. In remembrance of childhood memories of our mother's desserts and treats, we brought in these items. They happily offered a knife and plates, and no eyebrows were raised. The wait staff was very kind and courteous. They pointed out who they thought were in the photo's, and how happy and we seemed to love and enjoy each other. We enjoyed everything so much we came back after Thanksgiving for a family dinner and again to see our great-niece on her visit home from the military, after Christmas. We loved the Christmas decorations and took some family photos. Thanks R & R Frontier Village

Tried this restaurant at the end of a full day of hiking. Service was good and the quality of the food was far above average. My trout was seasoned just enough to enhance the natural flavor and my wife's bacon-avocado burger was almost the size of her head! Watching her eat it was entertaining, to say the least! Very good fries (I sneaked one off of my wife's plate). The decor inside is plain, but we dined on the porch and with the cool evening breeze off of the mountains it was perfect. We will definitely go back when we are in the area again.

Summary: Don't eat here if you want to live Long version: To the fellow traveler or road trip group this place may sound like a good idea due to its proximity to I-70 and hotels but trust the words of this humble road warrior eat here only if you are about to die. We had traveled for about 6-7 hours, finished off roading and came to rest at a close by hotel (2-3 min walk from this hellhole). We walked with a German crew who was testing the new Audi, we didn't go as a group but we somehow entered this local palace at about the same time. When we entered this place, we noticed a friendly dog sitting on the porch, we thought of having the waitress seat us outside but the flies were plentiful on the deck. We waited inside, and as we waited we walked around checking out the place. We noticed a dark closed to the public upstairs room and a dark basement entrance with an eerie deer head on the wall. The locals seemed to love this place, we didn't seat down and looked around some more. We noticed the filthy carpet, with crumbs, gravy and dirt, this made me realize that their carpet cleaner was most likely the dog outside. We then started feeling the air get heavy, we could taste the massive amounts of vegetable oil. We were hungry so we waited. We were seated on a semi clean table, with a good view of the public that ate there. We asked for water that never arrived, and an order than was never attended. Now, one can argue that they were so busy because this place is soooo good, no. They were not busy. There is a point in you stay where you start to gag from just looking around, I truly regret putting on my contacts that day. So this place gets this poor grade on service, and cleanliness. Remember! if your restaurant is filthy, you got flies in Biblical type infestation levels, a dog roaming on the deck, imagine how YOUR food is handle. Taking advantage of traveling folk that will be on their way in 8-12 hours after eating there is not good business practice. We left to eat at Wingers, we never eat at franchises but we didn't want to get sick. Oh the poor Germans, stayed, their room was next to hours, needless to say the toilet flushing started at about 2 am and didn't stop until the morning. So if you are brave, got the stomach system of a cow, got a death wish, are a murderer, want to enjoy hospital care and test out the toilet system of the Utah department of transportation rest areas, please eat here. I made a list of games you can play alone or with your significant other while eating/waiting here. - Grow a beard with black flies - Smell the roses (try to tell what in the world takes so much oil to make) - Feed the pooch (do what the locals do, spit a crumb or two on the carpet and wait for the dog to come in and eat it) - Ask what's in the basement (you may be next) I hope a hollywood writer eats here, like Stephen King, I could see a good horror movie inspired by this place. Don't eat here if you value your stomach, but come in for the experience.

We could not bring ourselves to stay here to eat. We had a night's stay in Richfield on our roadtrip and the limited dining options there forced us into R&R Frontier Village. As soon as you step in you see a gaping black hole to your left that leads to the basement, with a deer head over the entrance; it is one of the creepiest things I've seen in my life. The air was warm and heavy with a nauseating canola oil smell that had seeped into the carpeting and walls. We had about a 25 minute wait to get into the dining area, which was painted an unappetizing green; lighting, harsh and white. The carpeted floor had multiple, large oil stains and there were crumbs everywhere. This is going to sound bad, but maybe the grossest part of this experience was that the dining area was filled with white-haired elderly folk, like we were at a nursing home congregation, and it was just too much. The waters didn't arrive after 10 minutes so we left. This place gets good reviews because the locals love it, for some reason. If you are from out of town, go to the Subway or other fast food. If you don't eat fast food (we don't), suck it up for a night and learn to like it. If this place's dining area was so unhygienic, just imagine how clean their kitchen is... EDIT: I forgot to mention all the flies in the dining area. DISGUSTING.

A breakfast oasis. We had a family brunch and all the picky kids ordered special orders and substitutions. Service was great and everyone left full and happy. Fair prices and clean bathrooms as well

I frequent frontier village quite often so i thought it only right that i make this my first review. Prices on par for the quality, that is a step above your regular restaurants and cafes. For lunch or dinner you will most likely be taking food home which is a plus for me. My favorites, pork hash for brekfast, big lucy with frontier potatoes for lunch, and chicken cordon for dinner. Gotta try the clam chowder on fridays, its perfect.

The food was fair, nothing really that shocks you. A good place to go right off the interstate for a nice quiet homestyle dinner. Service was top notch.

Stopped for dinner on our way back to St. George from Arches national park. What an excellent choice! Great menu and the service was 1st class(thanks Richelle!). The guys highly recommend Big Lucy and the Bases Loaded Salad was amazing. We are just sorry we live too far away to make this a regular stop!

Usually a pretty decent fare, quiet home style atmosphere and friendly staff. However, there are times when the morning rush causes a drop in the quality of the meal, and on one occasion caused my family and I to be forgotten completely for almost an hour. Over all, the food and service are pretty good, just inconsistent at times, and slow. Plan accordingly.

After driving about 3-1/2 hours to get some breakfast, we missed breakfast by about 4 minutes (12:04) and the server wouldn't go in the back and ask them to still serve us. We sat down and looked at the menu, and while the options seemed good, the atmosphere was good, we had been craving breakfast food and couldn't settle. If you feel like breakfast, you better get there before noon. Our server was pretty lame, to say the least.

A long drive, middle of the night in blizzard conditions landed us to this safe haven. What a great find for a warm, friendly and relaxing place. Staff here was excellent, very friendly with excellent Utah hospitality. We had the the BBQ pulled pork and ribs. Both were excellent and cooked to perfection. Very tender and juicy, rib meat just fell off the bone "PERFECT". In all honestly from reading the other reviews some are positive, others are quite negative, but I'm glad we took the chance to judge the food for ourselves. Reviews are of course opinions and this place may not be an upscale Michelin rated NYC restaurant, but for good home cooking, quality A+ service and good menu selection to fill your belly you just cant beat it. Keeping things simple and basic is the grounds for a great foundation. And they definitely have something good here going from our experience that evening. Try the R&R Frontier Village yourself, we were impressed and glad to have made the last minute stop for fuel and a place to warm up from the cold.

Great waitstaff, fresh home style food, super crispy French fries and the kids get to pick toys out of a treasure chest at the end of the night. And right next door to the holiday inn. My only complaint was that they only had bottled beer and not even micros. But it is Utah and it was good to drink an MGD for the first time in years.

Ever wondered why there's so many Subway outlets in small towns? Restaurants like this one is why. Our group of 5 had a very bad experience here. It started with the service, it ended with the undercooked food. I could write a small novel on all the things that were wrong with this place. I'll spare everyone from that level of detail and close my review by saying that your best bet is to drive into Richfield and find ANYTHING else that's open to eat. Even a Wal-Mart deli sandwich would beat this place hands down. 1 star, and it wasn't earned.

Clean, quaint atmosphere; prompt friendly service. We dined there in the afternoon en route from Moab to St George and were happy we stopped. My boyfriend had the soup and salad bar and I had a bowl of tasty corn chowder. If we ever come back this way, we'd definitely stop to try out their dinner. Lunch prices were reasonable.

This little restaurant was a good choice. I had the steak tips, mashed potatoes and baked beans and my wife had the California chicken sandwich. The chicken breast was tender and juicy not really expected for white meat chicken. The steak tips done medium were awesome some fat but I like that, brings out the flavor in the meat. The gravy that was on the mashed potatoes was off the hook just like mom used to make on those Sunday dinners. My son had the Little Cowboy Cheeseburger that was surprisingly good for a kids meal. We would definately come back if we were driving through again.

We were pleasantly surprised with this place. Looks a little hokey from the outside, but the food was great. Can accommodate large groups and has strong service. Almost our entire group ordered the sticky chicken salad special. DELICIOUS!

While driving through Utah, we had occasion to stop in Richfield on Christmas Eve. We had low expectations for finding anyplace open for dinner, and were pleasantly surprised to learn FV was open until 8. The servers were super friendly, and were pretty cheerful despite working Christmas Eve. The food was great...fair portions that were well prepared. Dinner was so good, and the staff so nice, we engineered our return to eat dinner here; on New Year's Eve. The place was more crowded, but the staff was again enthusiastic and on top of things. In the future, we plan on using Richfield as our midway stop to CA, rather than Beaver, just so we can eat here.

Came in traveling from ca. We came in pretty late and was greeted by two helpful servers and waiters. We both ordered salads (long drive + fast food are a nogo). I got the sticky chicken salad which was quite good, but the seafood salad was pretty off. Overall I enjoyed the food and the service was excellent.

Rib Eye. Order the Rib Eye. It was honestly the best steak I've ever had and I've had my fair share of steaks in the LA area. Perfectly seasoned and cooked medium rare; the rib eye required no sauce or condiments at all. Very juicy and succulent. My girlfriend had the Country Fried Steak and loved the gravy. You need to stop by in Richfield if you're traveling on the 70 to try this gem. Definitely recommended.

Decided to try somewhere other than Pepperbelly on our way home. Eastern-most exit to Richfield off the I-70, and it's right there. Lightly frontier motif with unfinished lumber accents. Light green theme is rather restful and calming, after hours on the freeway. Decent menu. Salad bar, but only iceberg lettuce. Chicken strips were good. Fish and chips were very good. Onion rings were good. Cole slaw was VERY good. They ran out shortly after we got ours. Simple beer and wine list, but hey, this is Utah. Vickie is friendly and accommodating. Clean place, clean restrooms. I'd go back.

My husband and I stopped here while traveling the 70 freeway. We used yelp to try and find the nearest restaurant, and really wanted a sit down place. Now, I know I can't be totally picky, but the only thing good about this place was our server. I went in wanting a salad. They advertised a salad bar. I took one look at the lettuce and it was rotten and dis-colored. It grossed me out. The only other thing on the menu was basically fried food. I would skip this place and just hit up the subway next door.

Traveling through Central Utah, I stopped at this local restaurant. Great atmosphere (think roadhouse), with good food, decent prices, and most importantly, a friendly and efficient staff. I ordered a pulled pork BBQ sandwich, with their house fries and coleslaw and was quite surprised. The iced tea was brewed and unsweetened, the way I like it. They didn't mind me taking up a table in the middle of the afternoon, reading (or resting since I was traveling) and never let my tea go empty. A worthwhile stop, or a good place to go if in their neighborhood or visiting the Fishlake National Forest area.
