I tried this place the other day and I had mixed feelings about it. The sandwiches were a little pricey and the ingredients seem to be of high quality but I think they have too much stuff on them; it kind of overpowers the rest of the sandwich so if they would keep it a little simpler it would serve them better. The desert are really really good, like don't bother with the sammich just eat a giant slice of the red velvet cake. And make sure you get a brownie for breakfast the next day. The place itself is a nice big, open space and that is really great at night because it gets a pretty busy and the size of shop helps keep it from feeling claustrophobic, however it feels a little cavernous when you're the only one in there. Overall, it's a good place to stop in for lunch with a few friends but it's just not the trendy, upscale place that it wants to be and watching it try so hard is a little bit sad.

I love the concept behind Baked. Baked is a locally-owned artisan café specializing in new style sandwiches, mouthwatering breads, freshly made salads, delicious soups, and exemplary pastries. All of their breads and pastries are made from scratch, daily, and without preservatives. I have been here three times now, and I have never left unhappy. Almost everything on the menu is delicious - and their pastires do not disappoint either. Even if you aren't too hungry, you can just grab a few loaves of fresh home made bread. Baked's bakery has a wide selection of "bagged to grab" breads including; French Bread, Cracked Wheat, 11 Grain, Marble Rye, Classic White or Wheat, and Sourdough. They are famous for their Sourdough bread that is made with 150-year-old starter which translates to some of the best sourdough bread available. The staff is awesome here, and will make sure you are satisfied with your meal. I once had the french dip and the au jus was a little salty, so I told them and it has never been the same way since. With plenty of lunch options, you can keep coming back to this place daily and never get tired of it. Make sure to grab a few fresh pieces of bread and some pastries.

Great places for sandwiches and desserts. I had a the reuben. It was huge and it's probably the best I've had within the area. While we were waiting for our orders, we sampled some of their desserts...they were good, and the are a generous bite size pieces. For actual dessert, I had one of their delicious brownies, again a generous portion . At first I thought it would be so rich that it would make me sick...but to my pleasant surprise it was just perfectly sweet and balanced. Added perk: during our meal, they gave my friend and I a free loaf of white bread :D This is probably one of those places that people would hesitate to go in to or are not sure what they offer (it's not a place to get "special brownies" people!). It's very roomy and they have a bakery section where you can purchase loaves of fresh baked bread.

Everything I have had here: sandwiches, pies, cakes, have been delicious. They make their own sandwich bread which I love! I highly recommend trying Baked!

First of all, the storefront, staff, staff uniforms, counters, tables and floors were all clean. I appreciate that. Our food was prepared freshly, it was delivered warm, and it was DELICIOUS. The Sweet and Savory sandwich is hands down the best breakfast sandwich Ive ever had. The adults and kids loved it. The Sourdough French Toast was also the best french toast we've ever had. The whipped buttercream and fresh strawberries perfectly complimented it. Our group also had the pancakes, which were GREAT, but not the best I've ever had. I feel bad saying that, but I want to put in context how amazing the other items tasted. We tried free samples of the sourdough bread, jam, coconut macaroons, and s'mores brownies. They were also very good. The cookies were pretty and tasty enough to gift someone. Believe the reviews and try this fabulous bakery. They serve breakfast all day!!!

Very disappointing. Seriously got 4 or 5 desserts to share with our small group and everything was awful. Seriously, the worst. That being said, reading other reviews might prompt me to try again. We went around 7 or 8pm and maybe they were selling all the old desserts from the day. Not really at the top of my list though.

Four visits - twice I bought food, twice I walked out with nothing. Here's the deal - Baked is a great idea that just doesn't seem to be carried out very well. Let me explain... The two purchases consisted of sandwiches, take-home bread, and a few treats. Each time I've been in here, the bakery cases have been relatively empty. I've gone at 9am, lunchtime, right before lunchtime, and mid-afternoon. Each time, I have to choose from many varieties of frosted brownies, a few cookies, and once I saw a couple of cupcakes. I've tried two flavors of their brownies, scraping off 1/2" of frosting from both. They were good, but I was wishing they were just a bit less rich. I could only get through half. But I'm sensitive to sweets, so it could be me. The cookies I tried were tasty - chocolate chunk was the best. The best thing I've had at Baked is the bread. The bread they make their sandwiches with is the same bread you can buy and take a loaf home. It's really good, and I love the varieties they offer. They don't always have every kind, but that's pretty much expected at a bakery. The service here has been pretty good each time. But I have to say the employees don't seem very educated about the food. I am an inquisitive customer; I ask a lot of questions, especially if I'm going to put your food in my body. I want to know where it comes from, where it's made, and how. I understand that not every employee is involved in the processes I'm asking about, but two girls that have helped me haven't been able to answer pretty much anything, nor were they willing to find out. I don't know. I'm sure I'll come back at some point to see if they've improved. But I'm not in a hurry. Especially with Provo Bakery so nearby.

We stopped by here for breakfast after finding that Joe's Cafe was closed temporarily. The breakfast menu is extremely limited. You have the choice between pancakes, French toast, and breakfast sandwiches. However, the lunch menu was impressive and unique. I'd love to try some of the lunch sandwiches! We ordered the "best breakfast sandwich" which was ham, bacon, sausage, cheese, and egg on an Asiago bun. We also had the sweet and savory breakfast sandwich which is bacon, sausage, egg, and cheese on a sourdough French toast served with a side of warm syrup. Both sandwiches were delicious!! I wish we could have ordered a side of potatoes or fruit though. We also got an Oreo brownie to go and it was HORRIBLE. If this review was based on the treat, I would have given this place 2 stars. The brownie was dry, the topping was sticky, and the overall flavor was not impressive. It was edible, but as enjoyable as I typically like my treats! The service was awesome. Very nice and helpful employees. The place was pretty empty, we only saw one other customer while we were there. But it was early morning on a Friday.

Drop whatever sandwich place that you frequent and go to baked. The sandwiches here are awesome. The people working there are very nice, and it's not very crowded generally so it's peaceful. I felt like the money that I spent was worth the value of the sandwich. Holler 4 a dollar and go to baked.

Although I fully intend come come back and try Baked's lunch menu, then possibly revise my review, I'm currently only writing in reference to their desserts. My friend and I came to Baked in search of something to sate our sweet tooths after eating lunch somewhere else. Their dessert case looked promising and we eagerly made our selections and took them home. However, the pastries didn't live up to the promise of their appearance and we will probably be going elsewhere in the future. I chose a french silk tart. It was beautiful, but tasted only like sweetened cream cheese, with no chocolate flavor to speak of. My friend went with a peanut butter bar, which was also only okay. The best selection was made on behalf of my friend's dad -- we got him a fresh chocolate chip cookie, which actually turned out to be delicious. So if you're getting dessert at Baked, I guess that's the way to go. As I mentioned above, I'd like to try out Baked's fresh bread, soup, and sandwiches. The place is decorated impeccably, and the smells are good. This is just not going to become our go-to destination for dessert in Provo.

Solid sandwiches and free bread and jam! Sometimes they will even give you a free loaf of bread. Talk about groceries and grub.

So I waited to review this place. Now that I have been eight times trying something new each time I can say that this is a five star cafe. Every sandwich I have tried is excellent. I love jalapeños so the jalapeño meatball was my first choice. It was amazing. It has been truly hard not to get it again but I must try new ones. Problem is when I try each new sandwich they all give this same result. They are all fantastic! The pesto turkey and cranberry turkey quickly rose to my favorites but then I tried the classic club and the turkey bacon avocado. My last sandwich was the BBQ chicken and I don't remember putting it down once I started into its goodness. I love the freshness of the place. I am always trying to introduce my friends to the place. Share the love I've found. (They love it too) Not only do they have an array of excellent sandwiches but they always have dessert samples out. Free dessert! Of course you buy more once you've been seduced by the sweet delectables. The chocolate peanut butter cookie is seriously a must. Also loved the hazelnut cake, carrot cake, and a variety of brownies. I'm always confused when I see people walk past the cafe to go to Jimmy Johns. They obviously haven't been into Baked to try their superior sandwiches. If you're hungry, come get Baked.

NOT A MARIJUANA DISPENSARY!!! Although, a sugar high should be easy to acquire. The bread is so soft and delicate a princess could hibernate on it. My meatball sandwich was nice, and the Reuben was really winking at me. It's good, but the carbs aren't to be taken lightly! The pastries won't relent! They want you want they and the are persuasive little hussies! I ordered one ... I got two. And I ate them. I have no willpower. Will definitely go back.

  • Spencer P.

The food was fantastic, the staff were courteous and kind, and the overall experience left me wanted to come back for more. I got the Turkey Bacon Avocado sandwich which was phenomenal. My wife got the barbecue Banh Mi sandwich which was delicious (we suggest without the barbecue). Support local business and enjoy some awesome food!

  • Lindsey G.

Great service, delicious food! We came at lunch time and although there were a good amount of customers our order was taken quickly and we got our food soon after. I ordered the chicken cordon bleu sandwich and can't say enough good things about it! The bread especially was divine! Soft and freshly made. For dessert I had the red velvet cake and loved it. It was cake with a layer of cheesecake in the middle and cream cheese frosting on top. My child had the grilled cheese kids meal and the homemade bread definitely made it a winner.

  • Tara M.

Decided to come here with friends for my bday. After all the reviews I was excited. It lived up to the reputation. I ordered the turkey pesto grilled which had fresh roasted turkey breast, onions, artichoke hearts, tomatoes, and cheese, on grilled multigrain bread. It was the best sandwich I've ever had. I deducted stars because I ordered an eclair, which had cream inside, not custard. So it was a cream puff. Still tasty but not what I wanted. It was just a misnomer. Everyone I was with agreed it was delicious and a new go-to place. Best bread in town. I'm coming back to get breakfast.

  • Nathan A.

Ruben was amazing! Now I crave it. Bigger portions and cheaper than similar places, and way better than a fastfood meal that makes you hate yourself afterwards. Several tables are tucked away in a corner for a more quiet experience if that is what you want. Corner tables also have plugs to charge your phone.

    (5)
  • Johnny P.

I had a Reuben here (I realize now that was a mistake) so I don't judge off of that but the bread they gave us for free because we went at closing was delicious and plentiful.

  • Brian B.

After walking past it several weeks in a row to go to Jimmy John's I thought I would step in and check it out. After looking the menu over for a while I decided to stay and try it out. I had the Turkey Pesto sandwich and a side garden salad both of which turned out to be much better than expected. The ingredients were all very fresh and tasty. The staff checked on me later asking how my food was and called me by name. I gotta say was impressed. I'll be back.

Really good sandwiches. Amazing deserts. The staff is outrageously friendly. Great place to bring people for brunch, lunch, or a light dinner.

Tried it for the first time today and we loved it! I was in sandwich heaven and I will be back to work my way down the menu. The Napoleon and fruit tart were scrumptious. You have my business and my recommendation.

Really delicious and fresh. I had the grilled cheese. Delicious. And had a bite of my friends turkey cranberry sandwich-double delicious.

  • Becky R.

Totally loved this place! Mike (whom I assumed to be the owner) insisted that we try out the Reuben. Thankfully we did because it was SO delicious! While we waited for our order we chatted with Mike, who's a really wonderful guy. He let us both leave with a free loaf of delicious, fresh bread. We immediately grabbed some jam to go with it. Mmm so good. Love doing business with people who are genuine & care about what they do! Added bonus that it's also super delicious! Will for sure be back!

  • Eric C.

It was good food that seemed really fresh. However, the sourdough bread that my sandwich was on didn't taste like sourdough bread at all and the avocado wasn't ripe all the way. Other than that the turkey on my sandwich was amazing! I loved how it wasn't dry at all. It was a little loud and anything anyone said echoed across the room. I think it's because of the cement floors and exposed ceilings. Overall it was a good restaurant!

  • Kyle H.

Best sandwiches and pastries around! Excellent service, great prices, and really fresh tasty food! We will definitely be back!

  • Kevin N.

I loved this place! Just came back from my first time there. The food was delicious. The service was amazing. They have delicious sandwiches and soups. I can highly recommend the rueben sandwich. If you have a sweet tooth, they have some delicious sweets like cookies. Give these guys a try!

    (5)
  • Brit C.

Excellent service and super delicious! I had their bottomless french toast, hoping to finish and have their pancakes, but their french toast is very filling. I came back another day to try their pancakes and loved them.

    (5)
  • Sharmae Wright G.

Service is quick. Strawberry arugula salad is good. Didn't care for tomato basil soup. It tasted like Campbell's with cream and spices. Next time I'll skip soup and try a dessert.

  • Pat D.

A hidden jewel. The best breakfast sandwich in town. The Sweet and Savory French Toast Melt. Egg, sausage, bacon, real cheddar cheese grilled like a panini, served with a buttermilk syrup to dip it in. The price is right as well. I knew the quality would be good because I come here for the great bread. I'll be back and I'll bring others with me.

    Loved your cafe and bakery.

  • Eric E.

The bread there is AMAZING! Therefore there sandwiches are quite tasty. I didn't try the soup. The price was very affordable.

  • Alyssa C.

Love the bottomless sourdough french toast and pancakes with the cream and strawberries! It's to die for! I've also had the Turkey, bacon, avocado sandwich for lunch and it was excellent!

    (5)
  • Kathie D.

Run don't walk to Baked and try their Sweet & Savory French Toast Melt. It has cheese, an egg, crispy bacon sweet sausage between sourdough bread French toast that is cooked on a panini grill. It comes with buttermilk syrup for dipping. Divine! They have more breakfast menu items, sandwiches soups and baked goods-- al fresh made daily and locally sourced. We consider ourselves foodies and think this is one of Utah County's best.

    (5)
  • Alexis H.

Pretty good food. I want to love it and I love locally owned restaurants, but it's really just not quite there yet. I think it will continue to grow and improve--they are still quite new. I keep going back hoping I will change my mind, because I like the idea of this place, but the fact is that it's just okay. I've had the turkey bacon avocado sandwich, tomato soup, green chili soup, and the French toast all of which were okay, not amazing. We've also tried the cheese cake and fruit tarts which are decent. I hate to say it, but just across the parking lot Zupas has better soups and sandwiches.

    (3)
  • Jordan E.

Went for the first time today. They have a good menu for all meals plus great desserts. We tried 4 different menu items and all were very good. My favorite was the Oreo brownie.

    (5)
  • Hanna P.

Baked was delicious! The employees were very kind and helpful. We tried the Reuben and turkey sandwich and the tomato basil soup and it was soooo good! But even better were all the delicious treats they let us sample. The German chocolate brownie was to die for, I highly recommend!

    (5)
  • Marcus L.

Had their Strawberry Arugula salad for lunch. It was excellent. Everything extremely fresh. Also bought a loaf of bread which I can't wait to try.

    (5)
  • Matt B.

Awesome lunch today! They took care of every allergy concern and they had great taste testing of red velvet cake and the gluten-free chocolate cake. The chicken noodle soup and pastrami sandwich were exceptional. We will be back!

    (5)
  • Natalie S.

Had this for the first time today and was blown away by how fresh and clean the food was! Left feeling super great! The service was great too- they gave us a pastry on the house that was absolutely incredible! We'll for sure be going back.

  • Julie C.

Baked, you have captured my palate. I think your breads and baked goods are better than Kneaders, and thats really saying something. Plus, you have a nice variety of sandwiches and salads. Your strawberry arugula salad had produce so fresh it could have been picked this morning. I also ordered your grilled cheese, and was served an impressive tripple-decked mass of cheezy melty goodness. The guy at the counter was friendly, engaging, and made excellent suggestions. Im hooked! P.S. Your prices are also easy in my wallet. Thanks!

Baked is comparable to Shirley and kneaders. They have a pretty good selection of sugary treats and bread. Sandwiches 5/5 They have really good meats and breads and the sandwiches are well executed but not ground breaking. Soups 2/5 Just not very impressive tried three different types and none tasted that great. Sweets 5/5 This places cookies are our of this world the salted caramel is particularly good. Staff 5/5 They are super friendly Price 4/5

I went there tonight to order pastries only and found out they were 50% off, which was a pleasant surprise. Another surprise was how dead it was for a Saturday night. The atmosphere of this place is warm and inviting. I interacted with 3 different employees and was very impressed with how friendly, helpful, and professional they all were. Maybe people were ordering to go, like I did. Who knows... Jumping ahead, the Oreo and German chocolate brownies were stale, which maybe had something to do with why they were marked down 50%. The cheesecake on the other hand was very good. Bottom line, I'll give Baked another shot because they have a lot going for them. Maybe tonight was just bad timing.

  • Stew T.

You know when you go to Kneaders and the entire relief society is in line ahead of you? You finally order after 25 minutes of watching some grey-hair brood over what quasi-inspirational painting they want with their pumpkin steamer. Although Baked is similar to Kneaders, it gets 5 STARS for having a unique menu without the above-mentioned minutia. Employees are great and the food is better.

    (5)
  • Marisa T.

I came in for a french dip and I am delighted to say that it was amazing! The bread was very fresh and I thought the au jus sauce tasted wonderful. I also got myself a s'more brownie and that must have been on of the best desserts I have had in a while. I will definitely be going back.

  • Rachael B.

I LOVE Baked!!! My friends and I cannot get enough, we are there at least twice a week, usually more. The portions are large, I usually get the Turkey Bacon Avocado and it's so big that I have to take half home. The fruit tart is excellent. All of my friends are obsessed with the Chipotle Chicken Sandwich. The atmosphere is clean, cute and quiet. The staff is friendly and accommodating. There are always free samples and if you go after about 6:30-7 they give you free bread. The only think that worries me is that it's not more busy. I'm hoping the word will spread because I don't want it to go out of business. Go to Baked, it's amazing and you won't regret it.

    (5)
  • Sierra L.

Friendly staff, delicious samples and bread. Every bakery item is baked to perfection. My mom and sister visited from CA and I took them to Baked and we returned 4 more times in that week they visited! It's that good! Chipotle chicken sandwich

  • Sean F.

Great sandwich. The restaurant has a cool vibe, and a dang good turkey bacon avocado sandwich. I haven't had anything else, but this particular sandwich definitely deserves 4 stars. Not to mention they brought us out hot chocolate chip cookies to sample :)

  • Jay W.

Amazing! I've been here a couple times now and haven't been disappointed yet. Their French toast and pancakes are all you can eat and are delicious. I've had the Rueben and pesto meatball sandwiches which both are incredible. And you have to get dessert. They make pastries everyday and they are so good! I recommend the s'mores brownie. Really great atmosphere and fast service.

    (5)
  • Sean F.

First time at Baked and we loved it. Their meatball pesto sandwich was superb, and very filling. The sourdough bread is amazing (not like typical sourdough you get at the grocery store - this stuff is actually delicious) and fresh. As we were eating one of the owners came up to ask us how everything was. He is a friendly chap. My wife is gluten-free, so naturally we're on the hunt for gluten-free options. They have a gluten-free chocolate cake and they can wrap any sandwich in lettuce leaves for a gluten-free experience.

  • Nick W.

I had da Ruben. Freakin tasty. I could have used a small side of chips like kneaders but very good.

    (5)
  • Bekah D.

The turkey + cranberry panini was delicious! Service was outstanding and they clearly have a great thing going between the delicious bread and even the carmel popcorn that I sampled was great. Definitely Provo's new lunch spot! OH! I forgot ... they even have kids meals for 99 cents. Amazing!

    (5)
  • Mercurious O.

Local and the guys that run it are legit got the turkey pesto and was loving every bite. The artichoke was a crazy surprise it was unexpectedly delish. We also got some of the pasteries and both were again, surprisingly good. The decor was nice and clean and the smell was inviting... I'll be a regular anytime I'm nearby.

    (5)
  • Camilia L.

They have delicious desserts & I love how everything is fresh and pretty healthy. The grilled cheese was a little bland for my tastes on one of our visits. I liked the taste of the broccoli cheddar soup, and banh mi sandwich. The banh mi sandwich had more kick to it, and is one of my favorite things so far. They have awesome customer service, and really want their customers to be happy!

  • Ry C.

Found this place here on yelp. Was craving a sandwich and the reviews looked promising. I ordered the turkey bacon avocado and was not disappointed AT ALL. Lots of flavor all the ingredients tasted fresh and their bread was amazing. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back!

  • Sarah C.

OK, this place has become my go-to. I've had the turkey pesto and meatball pesto, and pretty much every dessert (whoops-- but not really.) The sandwiches are amazing and I'm actually obsessed with the meatball pesto, even though I'm not really a meatball eater. I've heard everything is great. Love the cake pops and PEANUT BUTTER BARS. Baked is perfect if you want something not expensive, fast and fresh. I'm sick of eating out and feeling a million lbs afterward. They also do the whole samples-in-line thing, which I am allll about. Not enough people know about this gem yet because it's so new, so the line isn't insane which is also a plus.

    (5)
  • Allie L.

I got the Veggie Panini with the house sauce, cheese, artichoke hearts, and avocado. I also sampled from my family's plates the pancakes, French toast, and Turkey Bacon Avocado sandwich. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS. The pancakes were perfectly fluffy and served with thick cream. The French toast tasted like it was infused with cream cheese. This was my first time and I can't wait to go back to try more of their tasty menu. Also, the staff was super nice!

    (5)
  • Alan H.

This was a good find. The food is good. The staff is very friendly. I went and ordered the turkey, bacon and avocado sandwich. It was very good. They used whole pieces of turkey, not deli meat, and the bacon was thick cut. The bread was very good. I went back and tried the bahn mi salad and it was a miss for me. It was not a bahn mi I'm afraid. It used what I'm guessing is their normal salad chicken, red peppers, pepperoncini, pickled onions, Parmesan cheese (?), carrots, cilantro and lettuce. The dressing was some kind of spicy dressing. No cucumber, daikon, jalapeño, and dressing was wrong. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't a bahn mi. Still, the service and the turkey sandwich were on point!

  • Camille G.

This place is wonderful. We've only ever gone for their dinner choices, but I've never been disappointed. The atmosphere is nice and clean and the customer service has always been great. Everything seems to be made fresh and with quality ingredients. We plan on coming back many times.

  • casey b.

Upgrading my review to 3 stars because I received excellent customer service after my last complaints. The manager reached out to me asking me to try Baked again and so I did. Again I went in and was the only one there and ordered my sandwiches to go. Both sandwiches had all of the correct ingredients, but they were still very sloppily thrown together and were skimpy on toppings. Overall, the customer service is good and the sandwiches taste good, but the execution and quality of product is somewhat subpar compared to other similar restaurants in the area.

    (3)
  • Brinlie C.

It reminded me of Kneaders. The sandwiches were awesome and the music was prime, the only thing was that the atmosphere wasn't that friendly. The building was huge and not well lit. There was just too much space.

  • Shawna R.

Some friends and I were looking for some food and a place to talk a couple of weeks ago and ended up at Baked. We loved it. The cashier was friendly and helpful, the soup was tasty and it was quiet enough that we could talk. I also bought a loaf of sliced wheat bread to take home. It was big, lots of slices not too thick or thin. Family liked it so I decided I'm just going to buy our sandwich bread there from now on. We usually get bread at costco but I think the bread at Baked costs the same but is better quality.

    (5)
  • Ryan P.

The bread is out of this world. The best sandwich was delicious but the sweet and savory french toast sandwhich was the absolute best. Would definitely recommend this place.

  • Josh I.

The sandwich I got was horrible. But the dessert cookie was good! And they gave us the cookie for free. But yeah the meat was bone dry and I couldn't finish it.

  • Katie R.

I think this place is way over priced and no good. I hate writing bad reviews, but we ordered food for the whole family. It was a lot of money and all of it was horrible. The soup was inedible. :( hopefully it was just a bad night?

  • Dallin P.

Really really tasty wholesome food. It's a little pricey for a sandwich but the way it makes you feel while eating and afterward makes it worth it.

  • Natalie H.

I've tried almost all their sandwiches and all are so good. My favorite is the chicken chipotle avocado. Their brownies are very yummy.
