Hands down the best burger I've had on 25th street. They stuff the burgers with all kinds of different things. The fries and sauces were awesome and the service was fantastic. If you are feeling brave you can try to eat their 5 pound burger in an hour. I'll be coming back again with the family. Very clean, family friendly place.

Scruds... The good- Very friendly service. Everyone in the place was very nice and willing to bend over backwards for you. Clean place. Great sweet potato waffle fries! What makes them so good is that they are crispy all over and not so overly big that they are mushy inside. The meh...The fries and fry sauce were just o.k. Pretty typical. Nothing special. The burgers were much smaller than the bun and it was a little difficult to tell one burger from the next since most of them involve loads of cream cheese and blue cheese. The burgers did have a nice char on them and were juicy. Just nothing spectacular that I was hoping for. The chicken sandwiches were tiny! The bad...The napkins are probably the cheapest you will find around. They are basically one time use napkins. Since you end up needing napkins because everything in this place is extremely drippy, you end up with wads and wads of them on your table. I think we ended up with about 20 or so between the two of us. The ugly...O.k. so here is what put this place on the Meh. I've experienced better list. The price! The prices are exorbitant!!! We didn't even order appetizers because a few wings is just not worth ten bucks to us! And onion rings for six bucks?! There are very few burger and fry combinations for under $12. These are not $12+ burgers. Is the rent on the building that atrocious that they need to charge kings prices for...I don't want to say peasant so I'll say middleman food? At all. This kills me to say it, but you can get a better burger, fries, rings etc. etc. at Red Robin for much cheaper. Ack! I said it! The super ugly...Plan on waiting close to 40 minutes for two burgers, fries and a drink. Even if it is lunch hour and there are only four other people in the entire place, the entire time you are there. All in all, maybe they are trying to sell the fact that you are eating on 25th street in historic Ogden city Utah to justify prices. (Cause, ya know, Ogden is a pretty happening and upscale kinda town. ha!) Or maybe they are trying to sell to the downtown crowd who are willing to overpay for average food. (Oh wait, this is downtown Ogden once again.) Whatever it is, I am sad to say I can't justify ever going back. It's just to dam* much to spend 3 bucks on a Coke. I don't know how long Scruds will be around. The concept is really great. The service was pleasant. But the negatives far outweigh the positives. :(

Best hand cut fries I've had! Very friendly staff, clean environment. Love the spicy chicken sandwich. Will definitely be back. From a passionate foodie.

We called in an order last night and got the stuffed El Diablo, hands down best burger we have ever eaten. We got the order to go and it was neatly put in the boxes with different condiment packets it was everything we needed. I wish we could eat there every day It was so good!! The guy that helped us was also very helpful and friendly, and the restaurant was very clean an relaxed!

They have a nice place, good service and decent food. Prices are high $13+ for a burger is too much for what you get. I got a stuffed bacon cheese burger (can't recall what they call it on the menu) with regular fries. The meat (a 1 inch thick smaller than the bun patty) was cooked nicely, bacon was thick and tasty, accompaniments were fresh and all was sitting on a unique bun (made fresh?). The burger tasted good but not the best I ever had. Fries were fresh cut and tasty. The wife got the Coeur d'Alene just because some of her family lives in that area. It came with artichoke hearts and jalapenos, the hearts were not very prevalent and the jalapenos were to much so for her liking. She opted for the sweet potato waffle fries which required an extra charge above the already high $12.49. In summary, a decent burger at a nice place with decent service for a lot of $. There are better places at more reasonable prices within a couple of blocks, I would opt for those.

I wasn't impressed with the place. Service was nice, and I like the decor inside, the writings on the wall are fun to read. Wings were pretty standard, nothing fantastic, to me there was no difference than buying some at the store and throwing them in the oven. I had the bacon blue cheese burger, and to be honest, it was flavorless. The burger itself was really bland, it didn't have any flavor, almost like it was bacon and blue cheese with filler. The rest of our group felt the same way, they all said it was very bland, yet they had been there before and it was good. Seems how this is the first time I had been there, I am not rating them that good on food. I don't know if things had changed there since they were there last or not. I may return in the future to give it another shot, but as pricey as the burgers are, I expected a lot more.

I took my family of 4 here, the service was great! The food was just ok. Warning, cut your burger in half or let it sit for like 10 minutes in order to not get molten hot lava gooey cheese drip all over your hands and face. I honestly got a serious burn, and while that may be an obvious warning I still got burned! Hubbies burger was still raw in the middle, not rare raw, like raw milley still cold in the middle raw. So he didn't like his much at all. The kids fried Mac and cheese bites didn't taste good at all. The price is very very high. I could have eaten at a much nicer restaurant with much better food for what I paid for not that great of food. Maybe it was an off day.. but I won't be going back.

Over priced undercooked burger. Order just a regular burger for my kids and no doubt they were prefab probably frozen burgers. Could have saved some money and just went to McDonald's. My burger cost 15 bucks and was completely raw inside. Yes it was stuffed and tasted funny. Everything else is standard. Taking the family somewhere else nextime.

I did the scrud challenge--$15 stuffed burger and fries. If you can eat it all they let you write your name on the wall. It's definitely more good than most would eat in a single meal, but not beyond doable. The burger was stuffed with bacon and cheese, very delicious. The fries were good as well. They have all sorts of different fry sauces you can try. I knocked a star for the price. I personally don't want to spend $20+ on a hamburger and fries. They had other options, but most of them ranged from $12-15. Worth trying, and I'd probably go back, but it wouldn't be my choice.

Artery cloggin', juice drippin', too-much-burger-for-the-bun burgers!! This isn't a place you want to bring your Vegan friends that want to discuss the benefits of soy and eating twigs and dirt. This is the place you come for a stuffed burger that reminds you why you skipped the drive thru and wanted a big patty of stuffed goodness. Several menu options with some creative fillers. I personally like the thought of Bleu cheese and bacon running through my patty and give extra credit that I can get grilled onions on the top (not sure I agree with it being an upcharge but so be it.) The have chicken fingers and wings for those not in the mood for a burger but I like to stick with what they are famous for. Burgers. Delicious, meaty, more than you can eat in a sitting, burgers.

First visit: ordered a spicy chicken sandwich. Bit into it and it was cooked... and cold. Fail. Second visit: ordered a hamburger. Bit into it and it was raw. Fail. The waiter asked if I wanted it cooked more. Yeah...ya think! Waiter brings it back on the same plate/basket...cooked. Never again. Children shouldn't be running a restaurant.

Scrud Burger challenge offered and accepted. It was a 1 pound burger with a delicious garlic flavoring that sent my wife several counties away. Family ran and everyone was friendly and attentive. It is on the pricey side but whatever. I did try a sample of their hottest hot sauce and it packs a delicious punch; but I've conquered the ghost chili and it wasn't as hot so no need to fear.

Good food, horrible service, high prices! Eaten here twice and both times the service has been horrible. The last time went It took about 20 mins to get my order taken then 30 min for my food to come, they forgot my bbq sauce asked to get it andI actually finished my food and they never brought it. My server the owners son made ever excuse in the book for the poor service instead of owning up to it (the only reason I know he was the owners son is because he kept telling everyone he was) the bad service is not worth the high prices you can find as good of a burger for much less and better service

Want to get the itis? Meat sweats? Food coma? This is your place! I came here for a bloggers night and they put out a whole table of all their fried concoctions- fried pickles, french fries, chicken nuggets, fried cheese, jalapeno poppers, sweet potato fries, fried fried fried. I ate it all! Best sleep of my life!

Scrud's settles well on 25th. I ate at the bar on a Thursday night and ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. The food was great and the fries were unique, however both of the house sauces were slightly runny for my taste. I felt it was fairly priced, and the vintage sodas are a nice touch. It only took a minute for the family business-feel to hit, as family and friends of the employees came in and out. The service was slow the night I was here. It wasn't particularly busy, and I waited about 25 minutes after ordering my food. This place already has a following, and knows its style. I think it has more potential, but don't wait to at least try it.

I just ate the scrud burger and threw down! Best burger in Utah! I will be back soon and I'm going to bring lots of friends!

Had the classic burger and fries. Was very good. Fries were amazing. Had a cream soda to drink. That was amazing. Cool atmosphere

So first thing to know is that this place is a burger joint, that's it. With that said, they are good big burgers, but way too expensive. My wife and I got wings for an appetizer (they were our favorite part), a couple of drinks and a couple of burgers with fries. An expensive burger joint would cost about $25-$30 for this, not this place. Our meal was $46 including a 15% tip. Not worth it. The burgers were good but they were a poor attempt at the Nook burger in St. Paul. For what we spent we would have rather gone to Roosters.

  • JT N Kim T.

Food was meh... The burgers were tiny and over-cooked.... An order of jalapeno's was so small you got like 3 of them. Ugh My biggest gripe though, was the staff. A bunch of lazy ass youngsters all sitting down on the job looking at their phones. So annoying... Every single employee, including one with his headphones on, just chillin' doing no work whatsoever. This place sucks ass. All of the workers are chatting each other up, while customers are waiting. It will be a failing business, I don't give it much time If you wanna pay ridiculous prices for crap service, definitely go to scrud's.... Lame I wouldn't ever recommend paying to get this kinda service or food

I tried Scruds last night as part of ogdens restaurant week. It was awesome. We shared the fried mac n cheese, a stuffed burger and a shake and had left overs. Tons of food and everything was fabulous.

For a burger place this is as good as it gets. The fries are some of the best I've had. The milkshakes are great and creamy. I'm a fan of the classic burger and I add fried egg. My husband loves the wings and the famous and stuffed Scrub burger.

Fun atmosphere and great stuffed burgers. A bit more pricey than your average burger joint, but a very fitting for the 25th street vibe. I've had the coure d Alene and Diablo and both have been good. Onion rings have a good flavor, but perhaps a bit over-breaded for my liking. I recommend giving this place a trt

My family and I ate at scruds for the first time tonight. We loved the fact that it was a family run business because the atmosphere was so inviting. We were greeted with a warm welcome right when we walked in the door. The mint chocolate Oreo Shake was so heavenly that my husband tried to keep it all to himself (even though he already had an Oreo Shake). I ordered the patriot with onion rings and the only complaint I have is that the burger seemed to be a little too salty. I guess it's because it comes with a double dose of bacon. I enjoyed my meal and the onion rings were deliciously crispy. After reading some of the other reviews, I wish that I got the waffle cut sweet potato fries. That sounds super yummy. My husband ordered the scrud burger and he loved it. It usually takes a lot for him to get full and that burger definitely did the trick. I think he was just super excited to sign his name on the wall. My son got the chicken fingers kids meal and honestly it seemed so fresh that I wanted to eat his meal for him. The burgers are a little pricey but that's probably because they're bigger than your average burger. The fry sauce matched with everything that we ordered and added a new level of flavor to our meals. We couldn't get enough of it. Overall we had a great time and we will definitely be back when we are craving a delicious burger.

I had the Soprano Stuffed Burger and it was AWESOME! I also had the sweet potato waffle fries and they were fantastic. On the other hand my husband had the Scrud burger which was huge! The only thing he didn't like about it was he felt there was too much garlic. This place is definitely worth trying and we will be going back. One last disclaimer, it is not fast food. Its a sit down restaurant and its not a $5 burger joint. Most burgers are $10+.

Stay away! Mostly kids running this place who obviously don't care. Slow. Not friendly. Empty restaurant.

Want a good specialty burger, this is your place. Great service and great food. Will return for the burger challenge. Had the special which was the zombie burger and was awesome. There milkshakes are amazing as well. Also tried there wing sauce and it has s good kick to it. Great flavor though.

Yum. Stuffed burgers and sweet potato fries. I haven't tried the raspberry shake but the people next to me are raving about it.

  • Lisa R.

Hands down spectacular the burgers are huge stuffed with yummy deliciousness! The best part is they aren't even greasy. The story of the place is nice and it's a family ran and operated. We were there for two hours and didn't even realize it. It wasn't due to service we were just enjoying ourselves. The son plays songs for tables and everything. I can't say enough about this place!!!

Food is good, a very enjoyable place. They've done a good job renovating the restaurant. The ingredients are very fresh. I had the Zeus burger, and it was very satisfying. But guys, come on, the wait times are atrocious, especially for someone looking for a quick power lunch. I get that the burgers are fresh and unique, and probably a challenge to cook - but I just can't sit for an hour waiting. Get the waits fixed, and this place will be a win.

Love everything about Scruds. The burgers are amazing (and I am a chicken sort of gal)...but the fries are my most favorite!! Great atmosphere and staff!!

Horrible service. We weren't offered a seat or menus and it was mostly empty. Furthermore it smells like a greasy diner to boot.

  • Stephanie C.

Pretty decent food but really slow service. One person in our group ordered a plain cheeseburger and didn't get her plain order until the end of our meal. We had to continually flag down the staff to get their attention even though they weren't busy. They were out of their namesake burger, which is confusing because all of the ingredients were available on other burgers. Just a heads up: The restaurant does not serve alcohol.

  • Matthew P.

One of the worst experiences eating food ever! Went there for lunch during work and after sitting there for over an hour they came over to let us know our food WAS STILL NOT READY!!! So we went over to pay before the food was even ready...we all got paid and during the time waiting they told us, NEXT TIME YOU SHOULD CALL IT IN BEFORE HAND, how long does it really take for you to make a hamburger. NEVER ever going back to this. Especially once we got back to work with our cold food one of the burgers was still red in the middle and not cooked all the way. So my advice is....NEVER GO HERE!!!

The best burger joint around, hands down. Fresh cut fries, stuffed burgers and amazing shakes. For something a little different and a lot more fun I highly recommend it.

I have been waiting for a burger joint here in ogden for a long time, just a place for my friends and I to go and i have found it. The staff is fun and energetic and the atmosphere is awesome. There best feature has to be the food though, stuffed burgers cooked amazingly and the fries are fresh cut. Where i have an allergy to onions the staff recommend the Bo Socks burger. It was amazing. With there wide variety of drinks and shakes this is one of my new hang-outs. if i could change one thing about this place is that they should add a few T.V's so we can enjoy a game or two. But other than that an amazing place to get a great burger.

Scrud's as it is currently close to opening has that great atmosphere, family run business feel, that is awesome. The people are super friendly, courteous, and welcome feedback. Whether that will be sustainable is a question mark. The decor and atmosphere is a bit cliche'. Diner atmosphere with 50's, 60's, and 70's music playing. However, it works. The pricing is a little steep. You can't get out of there for less than $15 per person. Which also for the proportion, gives you pause. I got the ghetto burger, which is their variation on a garlic and onion burger. The overall recipe was nothing extravagant. However, they do give you the option of putting egg on any burger for $1.50. Which I opted for. Also allowed me to use their spicy house sauce and it was pretty good. Where they get their marks is how they prepared their beef. It was great. Had that taste of fresh diner grill. The consistency was spot on and super juicy, yet thoroughly cooked. If you like your burger pink, you might have to ask nicely of the man behind the grill. I'm certain it will drop down to a 4 star experience eventually, but I'd jump on this place early just for the experience.

Best burgers anywhere, hands down! When I found I they reopened in Ogden, I decided I had to take a road trip. Man how I missed these burgers! I even got to eat my favorite special, The Diablo. I will be making more trips to Utah, thanks to Scrud's. I love everything about this place!!

  • Gary B.

This place is ok, they say they cook the burger medium ours were well done and mine a little dry. These burgers are WAY over priced. $40 for 3 burgers with small order of very good fries. In and out or 5 guys or habit far superior

  • Berta O.

Great burgers. Liked the fresh cut fries with each order. Waffle cut sweet potato fries were hot and crisp outside tender inside. Delicious. Will come back again for milkshakes. Friendly staff. Live music.

  • Jared A.

I don't have any business eating burgers and fries covered in fry sauce, but every now and then I feel like a caloric splurge and I can think of no better place than Scrud's to do it. I'm a sucker for the Patriot. A simple, but huge, double bacon cheese burger. The meat, cheese, buns, fries and fry sauce are all perfection. I generally go into a food coma and need to hibernate after, but you've got to let loose every now and then.

    (5)
  • Greg R.

Good place, but a little pricey. A gourmet burger, drink, and tip cost me $19 at lunch. Burgers are good, but beware if you get one with cream cheese in the middle. It might explode when you bite into it. Not a huge problem as long as you are prepared!

    (4)
  • Dennis Y.

Just went in and waited for the staff to even acknowledge we were on premise. Then waited another five, I finally went up and got my own menu. The staff is extremely unprofessional , chatting with each other while customers wait. We finally left without any fanfair and the place was a quiet as we left it.

Enjoyed a great meal tonight at the new burger place, Scrud's on 25th Street. I had the Zeus burger, which is 1/3 lb patty with Gyro meat, feta cheese and tzatziki sauce; a great combination! We can also vouch for the sweet potato fries and the milkshakes. It's not the cheapest hamburger you can find in Ogden, but the quality and serving size seem to justify the cost. If you're looking for a new alternative in Northern Utah, give Scrud's a try.

  • Shane D.

I settled on the "Scrud" burger. One pound of stuffed awesomeness. Might be the best burger I have ever eaten. Not a quick lunch place though as cooking a stuffed burger takes a little extra time. Staff was awesome and environment was pleasing. Will definitely go back for more.

Best burgers is town hands down. Worth the drive to 25th street which is booming right now.
