The food was great and we loved the atmosphere. My boyfriend had the biggest prime rib they had and he was very satisfied. I had a combo of NY steak, chicken and ribs & they were all delicious. My daughter liked her Mac & chz, too. The waitress was attentive & friendly. Pricey, but good place for special nights out.

I have been a loyal patron for several years. The food quality has taken a turn for the worse. The Calamari in the past has been some of the best I have ever had. M Now it is just ok and not worth trying again. Sad to see a good resturant go bad.

What a great place. It's right on the threshold of RWY 34 of the Ogden Airport with great views of the airport, city and the mountains. Very comfortable inside due to the comfortable chairs, pretty large tables and pleasant ambiance. Very good service too. Could be considered up-scale while still being casual. All of the food was very good. We ended up bringing most of it home because we couldn't begin to eat it all. Even if we didn't practice pretty strict portion control I would say there would be more than enough for almost anyone who eats reasonably. Chips and Salsa: Excellent. Chips are light and the salsa is unique and very tasty. Not all that hot Firebombs: Just as Brandon said below. Excellent but they are quite hot. I don't remember what they stuffed them with but it was unique and very tasty as well. Clam Chowder. The wife said it was very good. Rum and diet coke. It's Utah... My wife had the special (lunch). Beef tips over mashed potatoes with gravy. I had a taste and thought it was really good. I had the Lindbergh which is steak pieces on fettuccine. It actually was very good too, but not so much my thing. Both came with a very good garlic bread. I ended up eating more chips and salsa. We will be using what we brought home for lunches at work. We should both easily get two more meals out what's left. We paid under $40.

We have been to Rickenbackers about a half dozen times since it has been under new management about 8 months ago or so. If you haven't been to Rickenbackers it is an upscale restaurant out by the Ogden airport. If you are bringing kids, go on Friday since that's when there are lots of planes taking off and landing and it is fun for them to watch. We went on Thanksgiving for the buffet which was awesome. I have also been to a fundraiser banquet there most recently. I had chicken marsala and my husband had prime rib and for dessert we had cheesecake which was the best restaurant cheesecake I can remember eating and I have eaten in lots of nice restaurants. The first time I went I asked the manager what he recommended. He said "Chicken and Waffles". I was VERY skeptical but went for it because I figured if I got it and hated it I could just order something else since the manager recommended it. I was so glad I ordered that. It was AMAZING! Every time I recommend it to someone they look at me like I'm crazy, but it is SO GOOD! You have to try it to believe it. It is a southern favorite and you would usually have to go on a vacation to the deep south to get it this good. This is the nicest restaurant in Ogden. The only drawback is that it's a little tricky to find. There is also a little sandwich shop downstairs from Rickenbackers called Doolittles Deli. It's owned by the same people and although I have never eaten there I have heard that it's really good.

At sunset, Rickenbacker's almost certainly has the most spectacular view from any restaurant in Ogden. The inside of the restaurant itself is very nice, feeling a bit like an exclusive club. It would be one of my first choices of places to bring an out-of-town visitor. The food is your basic steakhouse fare. You won't get any surprises here food-wise, good or bad. It is what it is. The beer and wine list is much better than average for Utah restaurants I give Rickenbacker's 4 stars for the ambiance, but I give it 3 stars for the food. If you're looking for a nice place to eat and aren't looking for anything fancy in terms of food, this place might be exactly what you're looking for.

Lunch with hubby and mom. Great food, spectacular view, great service! I don't think you can go wrong. Would recommend this place to business people looking for a great place to entertain clients, mother-daughter lunches and pleasant afternoon lunch with friends. Will continue to come here every time we are in town. Good job with the new management and great atmosphere!

Have had lunch there twice and really liked it. Then decided to go to dinner there and take people there we had not seen in 40 years. Mistake. Waitress just did not have it together. We ordered a cocktail and she relayed they could only serve wine and beer as there was no bartender. Okay. Don't know why. Then she brings out soup and salads. Okay. Then the very poorly prepared fish dish came...tasted very fishy and the rice pilaf tasted and looked like it had been plated and under a heat lamp way before that fish hit the pate. And our guest...after she had been served her salad, waitress brings her entree...a beef kabob...and puts down tortilla chips and salsa beside her entree. I asked the waitress why the salsa and chips now...she said it comes with certain dishes which I guess kabobs are one of those items. Are we confused yet? So wouldn't you get this BEFORE the salad and not with the entree? I was very embarrassed that we had selected this restaurant. Good luck to the owners. This place needs proper management, a real cook, and I would love to see this place succeed.

Absolutely incredible. If I could keep the three guys from watching the planes land then it would have been awesomeness but it was awesome none the less. James was an incredible waiter. I had prime rib. Perfect. Hunt had pot pie. Excellent. The Cajun jambalaya was superb according to our son. The view is incredible as you watch airplanes land and take off. I would go anytime I can. Lunch buffet 12.00 Wednesday and Friday. I can't wait to go.

Update. My parents went to this restaurant the same night we did and they said that everything other than the steak was below average. No presentation or style at all...

Good food, horrible service!!!!' We ate here tonight for a birthday party. We had a party of 9 and we were seated quickly (we had a reservation) and were seated at a table by the window overlooking the mountains and airport. The view and environment was perfect. We met our waiters both of our waiters and they took our drink orders. They brought our sodas and lemonades out quickly. That was about the last positive thing I can say about the visit. It all went down hill after this. We quickly finished our drinks and they sat empty for almost the rest of our dinner. We asked multiple times for drinks and got no response. We ordered our food and appetizers. It took them some time to bring our food which is understandable. Good food takes time. The problem was empty cups and no appetizers. We asked again for refills and had no luck. When they finally brought out our dinner, it was delicious. I really enjoyed the steak I ordered. My wife on the otherhand ordered the "Rickenbaker". When the waiter put her plate in front of her he said "Enjoy your New York". It was not what she ordered and she told him as much. He quickly tried to cover but did a poor job. I'm a big steak guy and can tell the difference between a New York and a sirloin. They brought her the wrong steak and didn't even want to admit that they made a mistake. Sure the New York is a better more expensive cut of meat, but it wasn't what she ordered. They also brought her a baked potato that was still hard as a rock. She attempted to eat it and put her butter and sour cream on. It was inedible so she asked for a new one. They quickly brought her another one but failed to bring any butter or sour cream to replace what she put on the under cooked potato. We had to wait until a manager came by to ask for more. What's even more interesting, was how the manager approached us. He asked how things were tasting, not how things were going. He didn't hang around long enough to get a real answer before he fled. If he was really interested in knowing what he could do to make our experience better, he would have stayed long enough to find out. As we were all finishing our entres, they finally thought it would be appropriate to bring out the appetizers we ordered. I mean, who doesn't enjoy appetizers after youve eaten your meal?? Along with the appetizers they finally brought us out our refills. They brought us a third round of refills a few minutes after the seconds ones showed up. The waitress was going to take them back, but we had to fight to keep them because who knew how long it would be before they would show up again. When they brought out the checks, we noticed that they had failed to add our drinks. We had complained numerous times to numerous people and figured they were trying to make amends for a poor job on their part. Well we all gave our cards and they went to process the payments. Well when they brought our cards back they added as a side note that they forgot to add the drinks to our bills and that had added them after the fact. I'm not sure if this is technically legal or not, but can they change the total and run our cards for a total that we haven't seen??? Regardless, none of us ordered any alcoholic beverages. Nobody had a drink bill of more than $5. It was pretty tacky after such horrible service and no drinks that they add them back after the fact. If that's the business plan they've chosen to adopt I wish them all the luck. We left without leaving a tip. I'm usually a very generous tipper. I know how miserable it can be working a minimum wage job and relying on tips. But if you are going to do less than the bare minimum, I'm going to give you the bare minimum. I hope the people who run Rickenbackers read this and learn from it. You are in the service industry. You make your money providing a service. If you can't keep people happy and make them want to return, you aren't going to be servicing people for long. A little gesture would have gone a long way. Unfortunately I've heard experiences just like this from many other people. I gave them a chance to see for myself. The food is good! But not good enough to overlook the horrible service. Step it up Rickenbackers,

The mushrooms were good, but the service was wonderful!! Hubby had the steak salad and he liked it.... Not LOVE, but it was good. The pot pie was just good too. All in all food was good, service was awesome!!

Hubby and I had the New York Strip steaks...they were pretty good. Son had the kid's chicken strips with steak fries...The portions were huge! The calamari appetizer was on point, and the sweet potato fries were awesome. Service was great...we will definitely come back again!

The service was very friendly but our waitress wasn't very informative. The next table over was offered a list of specials and drink options that we weren't given. The hot rolls were delicious. My sirloin was cooked correctly. The shrimp had the tails still on and were messy to eat with the bacon and bbq sauce. The sweet potato fries were yummy. My husband's porterhouse was ok but didn't wow him. A bit out of our way, but I would return again.

It has promise, but tonight was not their night. Mediocre service, but the food was not properly cooked. I would give them a second chance. The views are remarkable.

Went here tonight for hubby's graduation dinner, there were 6 adults and 3 kids. Our server was very nice and answered all of our questions. Drinks were served promptly after ordering, my lemonade was tasty. Yummy wheat rolls with whipped butter and whipped raspberry butter. Loved that the kids menu had more than just macaroni and cheese and chicken tenders on it. Everybody's food was fantastic! Hubby got the prime rib, mashed potatoes and beans with bacon, it looked super yummy! Others ordered chicken alfredo, a prime steak sandwich, lobster and shrimp ravioli and I had a caesar salad, baked potato and crab legs, everyone enjoyed their food immensly. I'm not sure why this place has such bad reviews, it kind of made me nervous to come here, but super glad we did.

I wanted this place to be much better. The service was excellent but it was empty so maybe I got lucky. The place looks nice and the view is spectacular but in the end it just underwhelmed me. The salad was not fresh (you can't hide that with croutons), the veggies and fries were seemingly right out of a bag that came from the freezer and the ribeye was pretty tough for a ribeye. I would probably go back for the view but maybe eat something less pricey and hopefully get better food.

My wife recently had her "XX" high school reunion dinner here (dates omitted to protect my life. She went to a smaller school so attendance was planned on less tham 70 people, so expectations for dinner were high. Especially at +$40 per plate. And a set head count. The good: The bar was cheap. $4 beers and the awesome bartender was cool enough to round me up a sixer of Cuthroat so I could avoid the Bud Light / Coors selection. The wait staff was friendly, and attentive. They took care of what was in their control. The bad: $40 buffet food that isn't at the Bellagio in Vegas The tri-tip, stew-thingy that looked like refired beans when they brought it out. The desserts were on the table when we arrived. Had you not been able to split a log with my wedge of chocolate cake by the time we got to it, it may have been good. The Ugly: They ran out of the California Chicken. You can't run out of buffet food when you have a firm number to plan on. I'm on the fence whether we should go back and try the menu service. We probably will since the service we got was better than the food we received.

I went here a few years ago and the food was good, but nothing really great. The strange thing was that the place was empty. The staff far outnumbered the patrons. Thankfully that has all changed. I gave them another try based on a friends recommendation. On a Friday or Saturday night this place is hopping! You may want to get a reservation. My friend recommended the Prime Rib and I was not disappointing. It was amazing! It's cooked to perfection with an incredible dry rub. And bring your appetite, because it is a huge slab of meat (it comes in smaller cuts, but go for the big one and take some home if you can't finish it) I remember the side dishes were good, but not much else as I was focusing all of my attention on the incredible Prime Rib. There is a full bar and a decent selection of wines. Get a table by the window as the view is remarkable. If you tried it in the past and it was "so-so" give them another chance. You'll be pleasantly surprised with the changes.

We were leery of the place because of the other posts, but decided to give it a go. It was great. We were seated fast and at a good table. It was busy but not over full. Our waitress was very nice and knew the menu. Service was fast and no mistakes on our order. The steak was fabulous. Cooked to order and excellent to the taste. The only bad things I could say about our visit was the rice I got was bland and under cooked and we were not asked if we wanted dessert. The view was great looking at the mountains and the airport, and we didn't feel like we were packed in like sardines. We will go back and bring friends next time.

I had a really great experience once. I have brought friends back three times hoping they would improve service each time. This last time we had the supervisor as are waitress because we we're forgot about as soon as we were seated. She also forgot about us multiple times and then expressed her thought of it being so busy. Less than half of the tables had people at them. Most of the time you could spot 2 or 3 employees standing around, which was nice when you could get there attention to get water or whatever else was needed. The food is good when you get the dish you ordered.

Went here for my Wife's birthday and had a great dinner. As my family enjoys steak, about as much as we enjoy sushi and Asian food, it was nice to find a OK place not too far from home. My son got a hamburger which was much bigger than he can eat, but enjoyed it anyways. My wife and I both had roast beef which was pretty good. It was not the best I have had but good enough that I will go there again to eat. Wait staff was nice and service was decent.

We were in Ogden visiting family and wanted to have a date night - to somewhere we had never been and could not visit back home. Somehow, we came across Rickenbacker's and decided it was the one. We did not regret it!!! The restaurant has a great atmosphere (Red Baron / aviation motif) and we were sat in a table with a view of the private Ogden Airport (it was night time, but we did see one chopper land!). Every single thing here was amazing, from the drinks from the bar to the chocolate truffle mousse cake to our waitress. Seanna was the best waitress my husband and I have experienced and she took great care of us. We started with the bacon wrapped shrimp with ancho bbq sauce and they were really tasty. Our meals came with a salad and the best part was that Rickenbacker's has a great selection of house-made salad dressings (I went with the pepper ranch and the hubb had raspberry vinaigrette). We both went for the 12oz Ribeye that came with two sides. The steaks were cooked to perfection and cut on site. The corn, garlic mashed potatoes, and kettle beans were all good choices. Really though, the kettle beans!! So flavorful and the best beans I have had. The chocolate truffle mousse cake was perfect to share and we made sure we had room for it. I had a white russian and the hubb and a local beer on tap...even the well cocktail tasted superb! All in all, a huge success and somewhere we would definitely visit again next time we're in town. I think the best kept secret is the price! Coming from LA - we would have expected to pay twice as much as we did for the fabulous meal, service, and ambience we experienced.

This restaurant has definitely changed in the last few years! Honestly, I preferred the old menu & service (I think they changed owners). That being said, I still give them 4 stars. If you live in ogden & haven't made a trip to the airport to try this out- you're missing out! The view is really great & love that it's so close to all the airplanes landing. Food is hit & miss. I think they had a rough start when changing menus but the last few times the food has been solid.

I'm giving this a 3 star only because of the location, spectacular view of the mountains and how good other peoples meal looked! So I was here for a VERY slow lunch rush. Waiter was nice, very inexperienced I could tell , the kitchen staff were fighting about messed up orders. Most likely my tables food since we sat for an hour after we ordered Burgers. Finally had to get it to go cause we had to fly out(this is an airport restaurant ). When I bit into my pastrami burger that I ordered to cook medium, it was dry as a bone with no flavor and my tiny bit of pastrami was burnt! STRANGELY enough I WILL go back cause I saw some good plates on other tables and I really like the atmosphere . Everyone needs a second chance!
