Mi Puebla serves the best Mexican food in Ogden. We usually go for the $5.99 lunch special -- the nachos are incredible, as is their huevos rancheros. The food and atmosphere are far more authentic than what you'll find anywhere else in our grand town. Added perk: the self-service salsa bar stocked with fresh and spicy condiments. I love this place.

Great hole-in-the-wall kind of place with authentic food. The tacos are awesome. The service was pretty good. It could have been faster, maybe, but they were polite and helpful when I asked questions. It was a nice place to eat after shopping at the gaming store next door.

Great tasty food! Been searching for the longest for some good mexican food in Utah and this is just about the only place. They have 2 for 1 tacos on wed and thurs that are delicious. Service is on point too!

This place is amazing. It is aesthetically deceptive. Once you order your food you are pleasantly surprised. Best in Ogden for sure

I stopped in for lunch, which things seemed a bit odd as though they were not prepared for a customer. The carnitas tacos were alright, but not so good to eat them again. The chips and salsa were good.

This is by far my favorite restaurant for Mexican food. I travel to Mexico City at least 4 times a year and this is the real deal. Love their tacos al pastor and their salsa. I like to go after I play games with friends next door at Game Vault. Wish there were more places like this as far as Mexican cuisine goes.

We LOVE Mi Puebla! Staff is friendly, food is delicious and well priced (not to mention large portioned...yum!)! I'm not a mexican food fan, but my husband adores it...so we tried it out with friends and we are hooked! He loved their smothered burritos and I can't get enough of their poblano sandwich! Don't pass up on their tacos either!!

AMAZING!!!! I was a Spanish speaking missionary more than 12 years ago and this was the best most authentic Mexican food I have had since then! The torta was fantastic with milanesa and the flautas, sopes, and chalupas were equally great. This is a must stop for anyone wanting truly authentic comida mexicana!

Great rustic food. Straight forward and authentic. Homemade tortillas. Great chips and salsa. The atmosphere is lacking. Overlook it. It's worth it. I always get El Parian (marinated grilled pork, grilled onions, grilled cactus, sliced cheese, beans, with homemade tortillas. Great). If you like authentic Mexican food and aren't freaked out by eating cactus (it's good, btw), this is a great find. The mole poblano is also really good. My favorite place to eat in Ogden when I visit. A welcome relief to all the chain restaurants. They just need better lighting and more customers. Try it out.

Food was cheap but not all that great. Seemed very lonely when I went there and the waitress was just happy to see someone.

I usually only come here for their 2X1 taco deal, which is on Wednesdays and Thursday. Their tacos are delicious tho and are filled with a good amount of meat. They have so many taco option for you to choose from as well.

My wife and I tried Mi Puebla for the first time tonight after reading previous reviews. I had their chili verde burrito plate. Wow! It's so good. I look forward to trying more of their food. Loved our server. She took great care of us. Very casual place and it was packed with customers enjoying a great dinner. If you're around the Ogden Utah area don't miss the opportunity to try some excellent Mexican food!

I have traveled all over Mexico and this is the most authentic Mexican food in Utah! This place will rival Red Iguana! Very little English is spoken here so just point, you can't go wrong.

Seriously, some of the best Mexican I've ever had, and I've been all over AZ, TX, SoCal, and Mexico. The gorditas are amazing. Real queso fresco and all. If your experience with gorditas has only been in Taco Bell, you're in for a treat. Their salsa that comes with chips is outstanding. This is serious Mexican food made by talented Mexican chefs. Also, it's the only place I've ever been that does legit jamaica juice - fresh and complex-sweet, not watery purple koolaid. Been here many times, and always impressed! Last, service is friendly, ambience is classic Mexican Authentic (TV with crazy Latino soaps, genuine local-style sweets at the counter, etc. Nice clean bathrooms.

A disappointing visit considering the great reviews. My dad always likes chile rellenos, which weren't available, so we went with the millanesa pork, which was ok, but not wonderful. I ordered the chicken enchiladas mole, which was also ok but not wonderful. The dishes offered were not the usual fare, which might be for the best. We will try them again, and see if we can find that tasty meal we had hoped for.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
