We stop here on the way to and from Vegas every time. We always get a Denver omelet with fresh cut veggies and hash browns made from a real potato, and pancakes and the best tasting sausage patty that I have ever had in my life. The service is super quick and quality of food is impeccable. Lisa is happy and friendly. This place is the best.

This was the only place open in Jerome and was a short walk from the Comfort Inn that we were staying at. The staff is really friendly and food was delicious. The chicken fried steak was pretty good and worth it . Had with brown gravy and it didn't disappoint. They do have some beers available but not a lot. All domestic with a couple of micro brews but nothing to write home about. Overall a really nice place with a nice atmosphere and good food.

Cowboy decor wasn't over done. The staff was super nice. The food had a solid comfort food taste. When I walked in I said I'd be a fool if I didn't get the chicken fried steak. The food shows up and i comment how quick that was. Now for the bad part. My eggs were raw and had to go back. Not by my hand, the waitress insisted and took them before I could protest. I note to my dinning companion that this is the first time I've ever had food go back. I'm semi glad because the eggs were pretty raw. When my plate shows up the eggs look 100 times better and I'm feeling better but a little creeped over the incident. With the food in front of me looking better I let the hunger take over. First fork cut into the chicken fried steak and it gushes red. The C.F.S. is raw on the inside. You have to be kidding me. So how about that chocolate cream pie. Homemade and wonderful. I did not want to hate Lisa's The people were too nice. Just make sure you ask for well done food.

This is probably the best place to go if you are in Nephi. By no means is it the world's greatest food. But it is leagues better than JC Mickelson's! I am from Nephi, and I can tell you that the locals go here for dinner out. I have seen everyone, from teachers to the sheriff, cowboy and ranchers, police officers stopping for a bite to eat, etc. It is country comfort food. Lots of things with gravy. Breakfast is served all day. I recommend the Navajo Taco, which is is a salad with taco meat served on Navajo fry bread. Speaking of Navajo fry bread, it is also known in Utah as a "scone". If you order a scone here, it will be a large, flat, deep-fried dough, served with honey butter. Delicious! But not at all like what the rest of the world calls a scone. Every time I go home, my family goes here at least once. It's comfortable, the staff is friendly and remember my family well. People are nice. It's just a good place. Avoid JC Mickelson's and go to Lisa's!

Okay, I try hard to support local businesses, especially when I travel. I like places that are not chains, but next time I hit Nephi, I'm thinking (unfortunately) that Burger King is going to be a better bet. First off, though- the pie was pretty good- so that's a plus (not a big plus...just a plus) Service- very unprofessional and not friendly- we couldn't get the arctic blast of air turned off, and the food server was not particularly helpful. She was a nice enough girl, but didn't have the training to know how to handle customers. Although I think some of it is just basic manners. When the food server brought out the pancakes (which were eggy and kind of weird tasting) she spilled syrup all over the eggs. Again, not much of an apology. 2 pieces of bacon- one was fatty and undercooked. The experience intensified when my 9 year old discovered a fly...cooked into my grilled ham and cheese sandwich. Blech. However, that wouldn't have been the end of the world, had it been handled correctly. I've worked in kitchens and I know how that could happen. No apology, (she was shocked) in fact she asked me if it just landed there. I replied, "Um, no... it's grilled into my sandwich." She quickly took the plate, didn't say sorry, and was seen scolding the cook. A new ham and cheese sandwich replaced my fly sandwich (oh, she didn't ask if I wanted another one, she just brought it out). The rest of the food was not fabulous- their soup was good though (homemade ham and bean with leftovers from the kitchen- the way a soup should be made.) All this?? What would I expect when I check out? A big apology, my meal (at least) for free? Um, no.... 10% off and when I asked about the fact that there was a fly in my sandwich, the hostess (again, not such great manners or any training) said, rather indignantly, "We brought you a new sandwich!" Huh! Well, don't go to Lisa's... go to Burger King. Bummer for them, they could be a great place when you're on a road trip on i-15. I recommend more training, a cleaner grill and the ability to adjust the air conditioning when the manager isn't there (why wasn't there a manager on site??). I hope these independent restaurant owners can pull it together some day. I won't be back

Last time I checked, 4 stars does not equal raw chicken. Our group of 6 came in expecting good, homemade food. Upon entering, there was a case with "homemade pies." We ordered 2 breakfast plates and some fried chicken. The breakfasts were on par with IHOP, but all of the chicken was raw on the inside! We sent it back, and another piece was delivered to us by the chef. It too was pink and uncooked around the bone. The server was really very sweet, but messed up an order and forgot our biscuits, and then the gravy. Our waitress then explained that the gravies are made from packets. Gross! All the while, our server was proudly telling us about their homemade pies. I got choc cream and a friend got cherry. Mine tasted identical to Sara Lee frozen, and the cherries were sour canned with a very NOT homemade crust. 4 stars on yelp? Really? Not for frozen pies and raw chicken. I don't care if options ARE limited in Nephi.

My meal: Turkey Club, Fries and a slice of chocolate cream pie. My friend's meal: Chicken Fried Steak, mashed potatoes and carrots (also the same chocolate cream pie for dessert) All potatoes were home made, so just on that note alone, you have no business eating anywhere else in Nephi. It was decent fair, the club was very good, fresh turkey, bacon was delicious (applewood smoked), came with a pickle. The chicken fried steak was more of a schnitzel style situation, so if you're looking for the traditional style, you won't be getting that here. It's not bad, but it is different, it's not crumbly, it's bread-oriented, but it is pan fried, home made, not factory. The pie was really good. Have pie here. Service was prompt and friendly. Also: I saw that the people eating here were locals. I saw trucks and cars, all with Utah plates, and one pair of old friends were talking way after their meal was over, this is how you know a place is good, when old pals pick it as their hang-out spot. I'm going to give this four stars, because I have a really strong feeling that this place has a breakfast that ROCKS. I didn't have breakfast here... but you can just tell. They serve breakfast at all hours, I should've ordered that instead of dinner.

Decided to try a new place while traveling down I-15 and stopped in here. Restaurant was clean and service was good, but good was marginal. I would suggest passing it by.

I was in Nephi for 4 nights. I ended up here for two of them. I loved the fried 1/2 chicken. Stewed veggies are nothing to write home about. They have good pies. Service was always very good.

Run of the mill Country Kitchen. Friendly folks, fairly fast service. Food was so so. Hubby liked the pork chops, my chicken fried steak was marginal. Both came with the soggiest canned corn you can imagine. Salad before the meal was good though. Doesn't look like Nephi has too many choices so don't be afraid to stop here - just don't have delusions of culinary grandeur!

Great place to stop in Nephi. Desserts are all made fresh. Very good mashed potatoes. A nice sage white gravy. Hash browns were crunchy goodness. We will be back.

Wonderful Surprise in Nephi! Our table ordered the buffalo wings, chef's salad, club sandwich, and a kid's pancake. Food came out quick and hot. Was impressed at the buffalo wings, SUPER tasty! And they understand what a side order of Ranch is. Not two teaspoons, A BOWL! Only trouble I had was with my server - when I asked for things, like silverware, she'd forget to get it and I had to get it myself. Not a dealbreaker, I totally understand how service jobs are.

What a lovely afternoon we had a Lisa's Country Kitchen. I had not seen my good friends Lucinda Atkinson Stevens and Laura Hall for many years. They drove South to visit me in Mona, Utah and we decided to head to Nephi to dine at Lisa's Country Kitchen. The food was great, the atmosphere was charming, the waitress was super! So I say a great big yeehaw for Lisa's!

4 stars for breakfast. Fresh, cooked to order and served with a smile. Sausage gravy was pretty decent and an varied and interesting breakfast menu.

Only came here because a friend likes it. Not impressed. Fries were decent but not crispy, sandwich was very underdressed. Not going to make a return visit.

We were traveling I-15 and stopped in Nephi for gas and lunch. We decided we wanted something besides fast food so thought we would give this place a try. Food was ok, nothing spectacular. Service was fast and friendly. The only problem was the loudmouth sitting at the counter who apparently thought everyone in the place wanted to hear her life story and the hired help seemed to be just as boisterous. Not exactly a relaxing experience.

OMG... Chicken fried steak and eggs. So good and clean! I had a great time here and everything was perfect!

Pretty good for a quick breakfast. Had the chicken fried steak and sunny side up eggs with hashbrowns. The gravy on the biscuits were delicious. tasted like home cooking. Only downside is that there was no wifi and I wanted to sit and eat and work while I was there.

The service was fast and friendly. The food was real good and the portions were good sized. I got the bone in ham and eggs whole cut and even with my hollow leg I was barely able to finish.

Saturday at noon. Fast service. Strawberry lemonade with strawberries on the bottom. Soup of the day minestrone from scratch and vegetables not overdone. Ham and cheese on Texas toast with 3/8 inch thick ham. Ham mushroom cheese omelette packed. Hash browns better than average. Workmanlike biscuits and gravy. Very nice cherry pie with flaky, buttery crust. A good find.

I've had breakfast here twice. The food is pretty good, but expensive. About $5 more than what it should be for breakfast and an ice tea. Both times, I had to sit and listen to a very loud woman that works there talk to the other women that work there about whatever is going on in her life. I think she is a cook. And, she gets louder and louder. She doesn't stop.

It was really good. Clean, modern, friendly wait staff. Food was good and quick. Menu has breakfast, burgers, salads, and sandwiches. I think there were steaks but I didn't look. Best place we have been to here.

I liked this place....definitely a mom and pop type restaurant. Good size potions for the breakfast I had, which was the skillet meal. Took a pic of it...it also comes with three small pancakes. From what the locals told me this where most of them go to....avoid Dennys at all cost....Will be coming back on my travels.

Recently stopped here while headed south on I-15. We were seated quickly and the place looked nice. There were only about 3 or 4 other customers at the restaurant and I counted no less than 6 or 7 employees not really doing anything while we sat for about 15 minutes before our order was taken. When the food came it looked pretty good and tasted good too but this was the last time we would see our server for awhile. We ate our meal in about 25 minutes and decided it was time to get back on the road. We sat at the table with empty plates and such and I tried repeatedly to get our servers attention without luck. Once our server looked at me, I slightly raised my finger and gave a little head nod but she did nothing and went in the back. Most of the employees were busy eating, playing on phones and laughing with each other. I tried waving my arm as our server and others walked by, still nothing. Finally as another employee walked close enough to our table I was able to stop her and asked for our check. She said she would let our server know. About 20 minutes have now elapsed since we finished and wanted to go. Our server finally returned and said "ohh did you guys need something else?" (yea! how about some service) We said we needed to get back on the road and wanted our check. Another 5 minutes went by and our check finally came. I like to support places like this instead of a chain but I will not be giving Lisa's Country Kitchen my business again. As im writing this I begin to regret that I left a tip, even as small as it was.

Really good for breakfast - nice thick sour dough toast - tasty bacon - eggs cooked perfectly. Service was great - waitress was very friendly and helpful. Dropped the ticket at the table - paid up front when we were ready to go...,Definitely worth the stop .

My colleague and I had a really rough work day and were exhausted. Luckily we stumbled onto Lisa's. Wow, what a place. They had a great country western station on, the decor was great and holly shit what an ass on the waitress. I couldn't stop mentally undressing her...that is, until the hot wings came. Cooked perfect, slight bit of spice...just like our waitress. I only wish we worked out this way more often.

Took my family there to eat before the Ute Stampede. All 6 of us liked it a lot . I had the Hot Hamburger . It was made from scratch and was just like the good ole days. Service was excellent. We would go there again!

Christmas eve, stuck in Nephi, and Lisa's is the only place in town with decent Yelp reviews. Luckily we got to them one hour before they closed. The place was very cute, very country kitchen. The girls were nice and very friendly. I had the special, fried chicken. They brought a whole little loaf of bread, which was nice. I was a little confused when the food came out, since it was like a fried chicken patty. Tasty, but I was expecting, well, fried chicken. Anyway, tasty chicken, tasty mashies, tasty gravy, but the veggies tasted and looked like they'd been sitting in a steamer for five hours. The hubby was happy with his hamburger steak. Not too pricey, pretty good food, nice place, overall a good choice.

Zach, do you remember our time passing through Utah on Christmas Eve? We stopped to rest in Nephi, and needed to find a bite to eat before turning in. A quick search yielded Lisa's Country Kitchen available, and we were right on the heels of closing time. We thankfully were able to secure a table for a quiet and rather empty dinner. The interior is very local, for lack of a better word. We sat in a cozy little area by the window, as the rest of the restaurant was closed. A Christmas tree with presents under it was prominent in the room, before the closed section. It was very nice looking. It was cozy as a small town would be, right Zach? We had nice little loaf of bread brought to our table before our order was ready, on a wooden slab with some nice butter. The presentation was nice. We had ordered the chopped steak with some mashed potatoes. It was definitely better than what our other options were...fast food. The steak itself was good and filling, and very much appreciated on a night where most places are closed. Lisa's Country Kitchen might have been a one-time visit, but it was a worthwhile visit. Nice interior, nice staff, nice food. It was sure cozy, wasn't it Zach?

I think based on the options in Nephi, this would get 6 stars. It's clean and nice and the service is friendly. I want to thank Yelp for helping us dodge the bullet that is the place with all of the billboards, and choose this instead. I second Ryan S.' point about the potatoes. We had cheese fries, mashed potatoes, and hash browns and all were fantastic. They all seem to have started out their day as actual potatoes. The hash browns have undergone some kind of treatment that results in them being fluffy, which I know doesn't really make sense, but they are. Fluffy. The portions of everything are huge, and all of the food was well prepared for what it was. That's not to say the frozen cauliflower broccoli blend wasn't cooked to death, but like I said, this seemed to be the best option in the area and I'm sticking by it because that was really my only "Huh?" moment. The little side salad that comes with the dinners has cranberries and yum on it, and the table bread is this cute little loaf served on a board with whipped butter and a honey bear. The pancakes are magical. They are kind of stick-to-your-teethy and delicious.

I was worried about finding anything non-Denny's open on Sunday after 8 PM in Nephi, so I commend them for giving us a table as they were seemingly closing. The food wasn't anything to write home about, but we were all hungry as hell so I suppose it did the trick. The Southwestern-style veggie soup preceding my sandwich was actually really nice. My sandwich was pretty much a piece of fried chicken on top of a bun. Nothing too complex or creative here, but it's decent.

The food here was barely edible. Both my boyfriend and I had the grilled Halibut, which was nothing more than one of those pieces of fish you buy in the frozen food section of the grocery store when you don't feel like cooking anything special. The steamed vegetables that were served with the fish were inedible mush and had clearly been steaming all day. The baked potato was dried out. About the only palatable food that was served was the salad (if you can call it that), which consisted of lettuce with a bit of grated carrots on top. This inedible mess cost $21.00. Honestly, we would have been better off eating at Denny's because at least you know what to expect and they price their food accordingly. Seriously, how do you mess up a baked potato?

Warm and cozy, cute waitresses, cowboy theme is workin, breakfast all day, steak options, what more could you ask for!

  • Jenny R.

I'm giving this a two just because the place looks clean always worth a extra star. The salad was typical iceberg lettuce shredded carrots and was cold...always a plus....but they served the salad in a hot bowl just out of the dish washer...lettuce on the bottom wilted...but I would say this was the highlight of the food. The only fresh items on the plate was the lettuce and tomato for the burger...but the burger patty was frozen and had been cooked long before we ordered. Only one bite taken out of it - totally not edible off tasting piece of shoe leather. The mashed potatoes were out of a box and gravy was a reconstituted package kind. They had lots of staff on for 7 tables on a Saturday night at 7 pm....6 wait staff and 3 cooks. All I could think of is laziness! The prices are high for frozen canned food which is sad because with all this staff on somebody could have peeled potatoes, sautéed veggies hand breaded the chicken fried steak (also frozen cooked in under temp deep fryer resulting in a greasy inedible mess) hand patties burgers....this is a cute clean little country kitchen here...it could have soooooo much better.

The food and pies are made from scratch and pretty dang good. I have eaten here repeatedly and am rarely disappointed. The service is also pretty reliable, my complaint is the overpriced menu for essentially diner fare. As a warning a soda pop will set you back almost three bucks and comes in a super tiny glass-- make sure you request plenty of refills to get your moneys worth. A piece of pie will cost about 5 bucks but that is worth it to me. We almost spend $40 on a dinner for two every time we go- for that I would almost expect an awesome steak dinner.

This is a 4 maybe even a 5. We discovered Lisa's while going camping out by the Little Sahara Sand Dunes, and we have made it a regular stop whenever we are going that way for any reason. What is 5 Star's at Lisa's? The pie...best pie in the state (at least what I have tried) Anything that is made from a potato. Fries, hash browns, chips etc, all made from scratch. Really tasty! There breakfast is a strong 4. I just wish it was closer to be honest. If your passing through Nephi you should definitely stop by.
