Ate here during the Ragnar Wasatch Back. They were (predictably) slammed from the extra customers but handled it pretty well. Service was friendly and they had a nice selection of beers (got a Uinta Gold Spike Hef on tap). We ordered the spin dip as an appetizer and the pita it came with was pillowy and warm. The dish itself was MASSIVE. It was too much appetizer for the 5 of us. Everyone's entrees were enjoyed. The back patio area where we sat was charming and had some nice lights strung up. Their dessert case was exceptional-looking but we didn't partake. This little place is nestled in a canyon and we all really enjoyed eating here.

The food always seems good, but this experience was awkward... We came 30min from home for my wife's birthday dinner on a beautiful evening with hopes to be seated outside on the patio. Little did we know that when dining with children the establishment will not allow you to be seated outside even with very few patrons. Said it was because of "rattlesnakes, and ambiance". So if you'd like to sit outdoors for a family event don't bother coming to this place... I would like to say that the food and service is usually really good here and I would come again. But I guess I will need a sitter next time.

Brought my family here based on recommendation from friend. Loved the atmosphere and service was great. I ordered the chicken burrito which was lack luster. Just crockpot pulled chicken stuffed into a flour tortilla with flavorless white sauce. Really disappointing. The wife's burger on the other hand was great. Cooked well on a fresh homemade bun. Beer batter fries are also really good. Got a bunch of cookies and desserts to take home and found ourselves greatly disappointed. We tried them that same night and they were stale and flavorless. My wife put it best - they are trying to hide something when they pile on the toppings. We ended up throwing away most of the desserts. Really feels like the place has lost their way with cooking great, fresh, & homemade food. Really don't see myself craving or wanting to come back anytime soon. :-/

Our group of 9 was very happy here. Something for everyone to eat, from the pickiest of kids to the most health conscious adults. My 10 yr LOVED the burger (he's a burger connoisseur if there is such a thing). The pita bread was great, as was the grilled vegetable sandwich. The desserts were SPECTACULAR-loved the carrot cake, but the German Chocolate cheesecake was out of this world-perfectly chocolately without being too sweet. Great service too!

NOT FOR LARGE PARTIES OR BIRTHDAYS We called about a party of 16 plus 2 high chairs... We were told they don't take reservations but could call ahead 30 minutes before we arrived. It's an hour from SLC, so when we were 30 minutes away we called ahead and were told they don't accept call aheads for parties over 12!! We asked for the two high chairs at the end of the tables, and we're told "we cannot put high chairs there but we can put regular chairs there." We were asked if our orders were together or separate, we said just divided into 3 families, then she said "it's really too difficult for me to split up." We brought our own birthday cake with small paper plates for a 16th birthday, and while cutting it were told, "we don't allow outside food.... Well we do but we charge you $2 PER PLATE!!" So an additional $32 to serve our own cake that we brought!! And we were ALSO buying their desserts to take home!! We were so disgusted by their horrible treatment we won't ever make this mistake again!

I can't say enough good things about Taggart's! We've been going there for years and have never been disappointed. The ham & apple wrap is a fan favorite, but I've recently been converted to the mushroom penne pasta. SO good. Also the artichoke soup was delicious!! But, you can never leave without a piece of their carrot cake. It's literally the best carrot cake I've EVER had. Even though it's a bit out of the way for this Davis County dweller, it's always worth the drive! Also, I recommend waiting the extra time for a seat outside because the ambiance is totally worth it.

I have never had a bad meal here. The carrot cake is to die for and I love that everything is made from scratch! They are usually busy, but always worth the wait.

Great food and desserts. Casual atmosphere, friendly service, fun and funky decor. They are busy and do not take reservations. The best meal for the money in the area. It's in an unusual location but worth it!
