Can't say enough good comments about this place. EVERYTHING, was perfection. The waiter was very friendly and attentive, the food cooked PERFECTLY. We had the chateaubriand for two with grilled asparagus and a baked potato. The chef came to our table to cut it for us. It was absolutely amazing to say the least. The BEST steak I have ever had the pleasure to put into mouth. We had a creme brulee for dessert that was big enough for 2 or more people to share. The Prices were amazing too. We thought for such a nice, upscale steakhouse we were gonna end up breaking the bank, however we were very pleased. We will definitely return again and again.

Great food! The filet mignon was one of the best steaks I've had. My wife got the chicken under a brick and it was also extremely good: juicy and flavorful. The Mac and cheese (although I had doubts) was awesome! I would get it as my side every time! The service was helpful and friendly and the atmosphere was great. A little fancy, but not stuffy. Would definitely eat here again!

3 1/2 stars if I could. The food was above average maybe even really good. The service was kind of funny. They didn't ask for more drinks and brought the check before asking if we wanted dessert. We would come back.

Best steak we've ever had. We ordered the steak for two meal (the exact name escapes me). The chef brought it out to our table, ensures it was cooked to our satisfaction (medium, of course). I've never eaten a steak that is so tender and juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The perfect combination! My mouth is happy!

The food was fantastic. I would highly recommend the onion soup. The pretzels on the bread tray were great. We had the chateax briand, it sliced like butter. The four people waiting on us were very attentive and friendly. We would definately come back.

Great spot with solid food and excellent service for the money. If you want prime steak like Flemings or Ruth Chris, Z is different, with significantly lower cost, yet very good...although not equal to high end prime steakhouse fare. 3 of us indulged on apps, soup, salad, and large tasty steaks for $75 less than Flemings. Lovely setting and great service. I suggest the fondue app, bisque, wedge salad, and generous sized KC Strip. 5 stars due to appropriate pricing for really good but not top-shelve steakhouse fare. Recommended!

I truly do not understand the negative reviews...my family and I had dinner here New Year's Eve and enjoyed all aspects of the meal....fantastic service (we really appreciated the gentleman that constantly ensured our glasses were full, he was an accessory server) and our waiter was great and very attentive. Our Swiss onion soup was good, steaks were cooked perfectly and very tender, and the bread pudding was outstanding!!! I am not sure of the management took other viewers posts to correct some of the issues but for is it was a great experience and if we come back to Utah we will definitely be revisiting Z's!!

Our first mistake was not looking at the reviews before we went to this steak house. Our steaks were served with no steak knife but it would not have helped we needed saws to get through them. The waiter was weird and a little creepy. He ran around the dining room like he was super busy but there was only 2 other tables from ours. I would not recommend this place if you are looking for a good steak.

Terrible service. Waited 30 minutes after making a reservation two months ago. Drinks took fifteen minutes and waiter acted like we weren't worth his time. Brought out steaks with no knives and I finally had to go into the back to get them. Steaks were ok. Another 30 minutes to get the check. Plus s bunch more. Don't waste your time.

We absolutely loved our dining experience with Z's Sunday breakfast buffet. The service was outstanding! All of the morning staff was polite, helpful, considerate, and professional. And the food was delicious! There are so many food options...crepe & omelet station, fresh fruit, baked goods that are made in-house. I can't emphasis enough what a great restaurant this is, it's a must go!

The filet was melt in your mouth good. Service was good, restaurant was quiet with some nice live piano music. The fondue appetizer I couldn't get enough of! What a great place for a special dinner

I visited the Zermat Resort during my stay in Midway. Unfortunately for me, there were not many Yelpers or restaurants to chose from in this small quaint town, but since this place was conveniently located, the family and I decided to give it a try. Our first attempt was met by a "Closed" sign--apparently we went on the only day they were closed. We tried again the following night and enjoyed a pleasant fireside meal. As I mentioned, Midway is a small town with not much to offer after a day or 2 of town-wandering, but conveniently situated near Park City and Deer Valley. Zermat Resort is a popular location for hot springs/spas and conferences, but as our visit to Zermat was at beginning of the week, the resort was relatively deserted. The enormous fireplace bathed the Chop Haus with a warm glow and provided a rustic crackling soundtrack. It seemed my family and I were to enjoy the warm dining room to ourselves. However, as the evening progressed a large group of individuals joined our dinning room. Normally, an empty restaurant is a red flag, but after taking into consideration that we were visiting on Wednesday an empty resort dining room is not necessarily indicative of the meal/experience we were about to enjoy. We shared our meal family-style: - Gruyere Fondue, Chilled Vegetables and French Bread -- my parents thoroughly enjoyed the Gruyere fondue and even requested to keep the cheese to dip the freshly baked Z pretzels that came with our meal. (4 stars) -Pork Tenderloin Schnitzel with Spätzle, Spinach and Tomatoes - Tasty, but unremarkable. (2.5-3 stars) -Braised Buffalo Short Rib, Wild Mushroom, Demi Glaze - Delicious, but how can you go wrong with braised short ribs and mushrooms. The demi glaze was rich and robust with flavor. (4 stars) -Bread pudding - the waiter really sold this to us, but we were not impressed. (2 stars) Service- at first our waiter was quite attentive, but after the large group arrived our tiny table of 3 was only given the perfunctory visit to check on quality and satisfaction of the meal. The supporting staff was still very attentive--my glass was never empty, and empty plates never stayed on the table. (2.5-3Stars) Pros- Fireside table-adorable ambiance, though the restaurant when empty seemed less inviting in such an open cavernous space. I can see how charming it would be during a full house. Freshly baked pretzels-delicious! (3-3.5 stars) Cons- Understandably, on a Wednesday, the restaurant would not be full staffed, but it was a bit off-putting to be ignored once a large group showed up. Also, prior to our arrival, we attempted to call to verify whether or not reservations were required/recommended for dinner, but no one answered the phone. Unfortunately, that did impact my feelings toward the restaurant before I even arrived. Overall, we enjoyed our experience, however it was not as memorable as it could have been. The food was delicious, but unremarkable; the service was inconsistent, but not lacking in basic attentiveness. If I were to be in the area again and craving Gruyere Fondue or Buffalo Short Ribs, I'd consider visiting again.

Not worth the price. Food is average, but service is beyond bad. Somehow we spent over two hours there battling to order the things we wanted and still felt rushed. We never got to order our soup and had to fight to get our wine order in, but when we first came in the server hardly gave us any time to decide before she loudly demanded our entree order. The atmosphere was uncomfortable. We were seated next to screaming children and the server should probably work at TGI Fridays rather than a nice restaurant. Her volume and rude demeanor were out of control. But, we didn't see her a lot because we were served more by bus boys than anyone else even though our server only had a couple tables (hardly anyone was there). Our drinks were rarely refilled and we didn't get our bread until the end of the meal even though we asked 3 different people for it a total of 5 times throughout the meal. We wanted to have it for our fondue appetizer because the appetizer only came with three small pieces for some reason. When we brought our issues to the server she aggressively shut them down. We left full of anxiety. We weren't discounted for our cold food or the bad service we received. We later complained to the front desk of the hotel, but after talking to two different people over the phone we still haven't received anything but a back handed apology and condescending justifications. Basically they don't care.

YIKES! Where to begin. On our anniversary this week, my wife and I decided to give this place a chance instead of other high-end steak houses in Utah. Boy did we pick the wrong day. The staff was great and friendly however the place was dead. There were only two other patrons and it was very quiet but nice. We started with the fondue which was pretty good and the bread was fresh. We both had the Swiss onion soup which was way too salty and 80% bread and cheese. Not much soup for $7.00. We ordered the main course. 21 day aged ribeye and 21 day aged New York strip. With the 1lb baked potato and spinach salad. When our waiter John brought the steaks we noticed something odd. Every 45 dollar steak I've ever ordered in the past has always come out sizzling and scalding hot to perfection. These steaks had NO sizzle. In fact my wife's New York strip was hardly warm. My ribeye was ok. (way too much pepper on the rub) it didn't taste aged at all. Most likely they sat under a heat lamp while my baked potato was microwaved (cold center). The waiter John was very empathetic and the manager came out and tried to fix everything. They did a great job of trying to save our dinner but it hard to enjoy when your food is in the back getting re-grilled. It's especially frustrating when your spending over $150 on food. The manager did buy our deserts and sides and I'm sure on a busy night this place is very good. John was very good and we left him a huge tip for trying to fix the situation. As much as I'd like to recommend a local restaurant, I can't recommend Z's. I'm sure during peak season it's great but if you go during the week this could easily happen to you. Stick with the big dogs during the week like Spencer's, Flemming's, or Ruth's Chris.
