The service was always attentive. The pizza is really good. Breakfast was also good. Drink prices from the bar were reasonable.

We went here twice during our stay at the Zermatt Resort. The Italian pepperoni pizza is so delicious. We ordered the meat pizza one night but no comparison so we were disappointed the second time. The frisco burger is awesome. I also ordered the open prime rib sandwich, our waiter recommended. I don't eat prime rib but I liked the sandwich - good flavor I didn't want to share it with my husband. I liked it here- it's casual with Tv's and they have wine!

Great staff! Had a nice chicken quesadilla, next time I had a Cobb salad and it was good. But the best meal was breakfast. I had the Eggs Benedict and they were fantastic!

The food was great however I left my sunglasses there for 3 minutes and suddenly no one knows where they went or what happened to them! WTF???

Great friendly service solid food free breakfast with hotel stay so much better than doughnuts and cereal that you get at other hotels.

Worst service ever. I was staying at the hotel so we came here for convenience. It was super busy and the wait was going to be 30 minutes. So we opted to just order take out. An hour and a half later they finished making the grill cheese sandwich. I understand if you forget to put in the order. But I checked on the food no less than 5 times. I honestly don't think they put the food order in until the final time I checked. So $25 for a grilled cheese some chips and salsa a couple of non alcoholic drinks and a side order of fruit... Ridiculous.

After reading other reviews maybe they've stepped things up. My husband and I both loved what we ordered. I recommend the onion rings (they're served with a unique sauce) and the buffalo chili. My husband ordered the cheese soup. You can order a standard sized pint of beer or a "large". It was a slow night but our service was excellent. I liked the casual atmosphere. Places in the area like Matty's are unique and needed in this area: good, casual food. Relaxed atmosphere. Good beer selection (though I'm not picky about that, I just like beer).

Went for breakfast. After more than 10 mins waiting for coffee--and with two total tables seated in the restaurant--we gave up and went to the Blue Boar Inn. Coffee was half the price and the service was fabulous. Take a drive, get out of the hotel. You'll be glad you did.

We visited Matty's while staying at the Homestead to try something nic,e or so I thought. My wife and i shared a 6 course dinner for $30. The "dinner" was actually 6 choices of different appetizers with no real main course. The food was alright but nothing you would expect from a place with Zermatt's reputation. More people came, sat down and left than dined while we were there as the staff sent all of them to Fanny's at the homestead for real food.

Best of State for anything? Really? This place is not good for the price you pay. Dinner for a 2 year old and an adult was $38.00. The kids burger was 6$ plus .75 for cheese. The fish and chips $15.00 +$6 (not explained) to have onion rings instead of fries. Beer is $5.00. So the kids meal was ok.... The fish and chips, well, the fish was 1/2 inch wide and 1.5 inches long. I am not exaggerating. There were 4 pieces. It was a joke. Breakfast in the morning. $5.00 for kids meal of one egg, 2 strips of bacon and "Pan fried potatoes". $10 for biscuits and gravy with two eggs and "pan fried potatoes". Gravy was Sysco from a can. Potatoes were Sysco dehydrated potatoes. Just add water and fry..... I expect to pay this much for scratch food in a quality resort. Not Sysco food from a can. I can get that at Denny's. Service was wonderful and attentive. The food was disappointing. How does Zermatt constantly win best of State when Grand America never does? Because Best of State is a joke. It costs $100 to be nominated so the business does the nominating and if no one else is paying for a nomination then you win.

Great salads. The freshest ingredients I've had in a restaurant in a long time, and reasonable prices. Lots of restaurants have marginally fresh lettuce and other ingredients, but this place was really good. Good service too, though it was pretty quiet when we went mid afternoon.

My wife and I and a couple of friends went out to eat dinner on 'Prime-Rib Special' night. Worst prime-rib I've ever eaten! It was all full of fat and gristle! The service left a lot to be desired too. That's twice we have eaten there and been disappointed. Won't return! GO

Service was good at dinner but not so great at breakfast. Food is overpriced, but the salmon cooked in the pizza oven was to die for!

We stayed at the Zermatt and enjoyed a wonderful dinner and breakfast at Matty's. For dinner my husband and I shared a large Pizza half bratwurst & peppers half artichoke mushroom etc. I also had a house salad and he had buffalo wings as starters. The seasoned tomatoes on the salad were wonderful. The wings were good. The pizza was wonderful. For breakfast I had a side of fruit, my husband had the midway omelette. We also shared a Swiss Hot chocolate, this was the BEST hot chocolate we had ever tasted. $6 got us a little pot with marshmallows and cream on the side. It was more than enough for two people to share (could have shared with 4). The omelette and hash browns were very yummy and my fresh fruit was actually fresh. The service at dinner and breakfast was wonderful. I would recommend this to anyone visiting the area. The prices were not to bad in my opinion slightly higher than I'd pay normally but not to over the top for a vacation town.

I'm a big pizza fan. So, when I heard that this restaurant had won the Best of State award for pizza, I had to try it. My wife and I had the BBQ chicken and it was really good! I also like the atmosphere of the place and our waitress was super nice. I totally recommend this place is you find yourself in Midway.

I have to agree with Andrew S. on this one. The food here is pretty dismal. The place works if you have a big group and it's a holiday -- with most every other eating establishment closed in Midway, but otherwise...forget it. Overpriced for what it is and sadly underwhelming for a resort hotel.
