Mmmmm. . . Corn dogs hot on the outside, frozen in the middle. Cheeseburgers so cool that the 'cheddar' cheese won't even melt. Do not eat here.

Great custard, everything else is just kind of there. Pricey for what you get. But the custard is delicious!

Been to Culver's several times now, impressed every time. this last time had the Rueben. I saw it last time and it looked pretty good. Honestly, this is the best Rueben I have ever had. Grilled perfect. Insides perfect.

The first thing I pay attention to when I go to a burger place is the cleanliness. This place was spotless. The employees are well groomed, and very helpful. I asked to see an allergy guide, and they gave me one at once. I ordered the Swiss and mushroom burger, and it was delicious. The beef tastes like it has never been frozen, the cheese was real, and the rootbeer was pretty good also. But the best thing was the frozen chocolate custard. Finally you can get decent ice cream on this continent! It was creamy and smooth, and you could tell it was made from real cream, like ice cream should be. The chocolate was rich but not overwhelming and not so sweet that you couldn't finish it. Overall, if you are craving a burger, give these guys a try, you'll get honest real food that is tasty.

This is a beloved midwest chain and I'm originally from Wisconsin and grew up on this stuff. It's wonderful to have this available in Utah. The burgers are typical midwest style the meat has a similar taste to what you get at Smash Burger. I don't know if it is smashed, but it is kinda crispy around the edges, but incredibly flavorful. The cheese is Wisconsin cheese and you can taste the difference. Fries are crinkle cut and plentiful and the custard ice cream is top notch. The flavor of the day is hit or miss but the turtle sunday is always good. However, as someone else noted, this food is not good for you, so... everything in moderation. If you just want a tasty burger that isn't typical for Utah, this would be a great choice.

Ordered their sourdough melt single, was excited to try it, couldn't see any meat opened the bread in what they call a patty it was a literally see through and didn't cover more than half of the overall bread they had some cheese and a couple little pieces of onion. I took it to the general manager, he confirmed that this is the way it's supposed to be made. He offered to replace the sandwich, I asked are all the burgers the same size patty? He confirmed all singles are the same size patty. I said for 350 and a see through patty I'm not interested in any other sandwich. Got my money back. The corn dogs tasted fine, for $1 each on special this week . The chicken and dumpling soup $2.50, had literally no dumplings in the entire cup & limited chicken, although flavor was fine. Go with a special or coupon, otherwise there are other burgers in town.

Good food...you must try the rootbeer...far better than A&W! Decent kid's meal prices...with entree, fries, drink, and dessert for about $5. Sign up online for offers and get a buy-1-get-1-free combo meal!

Whilst the food here is pretty good (I've eaten here several times), there always seems to be a distinct lack of urgency from the staff. Everything is a very laid back pace. I'm not sure one should have to stand in line for 10+ minutes to be served. The food is good however.

Culver's is one of our favorite places. Great experiences and always will go back! Thank you Culver's!

I have been craving this place since my last visit to Minnesota, but was worried the reality wouldn't live up to the memory. Happily the butter burger had the same flavor, especially the char, that I loved. The cheese curds are a must and the root beer is excellent. Very happy to have this place close to home now and will be coming back.

The food could be awful and I'd still come back. That a great crew here. I am in awe over the cleanliness. The kids working here make me realize there's hope lol. What a cute bunch. I talked to Sofia and Taylor today. Great customer service and so friendly. Good job kids!!!

Terrible! Dry, falling apart buns, burnt burgers, and no fry sauce or even napkins in the drive-thru. So NOT recommend.

Wow! I really like this place! A coworker and I were on our way to a meeting in St. George and we saw Culver and my coworker told me that we have to go there. They have great burgers, french fries, cheese curds and shakes. I got the single butter burger, cheese curds and a strawberry shake. All I can say is that I need a Culver's in California.

It was really greasy. I got sick after eating it. I would not recommend. Unless you want expensive ice cream.

I've only been to Culver's one time. I had the deluxe bacon double cheeseburger and fries. They didn't give me any fry sauce at the drive thru. NOT Cool! I walked inside and grabbed two tubs of the self-service good stuff. Catastrophe averted! The fries were good, but certainly not great. They were crinkle cut, but not cooked quite long enough to be crispy... a couple of them even bordered on soggy. Probably 3-star fries. Have you ever been eating a bacon cheeseburger and thought to yourself, 'Self. Y'know what this needs? BUTTER!!"? Yah... neither have I. The buttery goodness just seems egregious and unnecessary. The burger meat was good, fresh and delicious. Good bun. Fresh toppings. Not a bad burger at all. But for $7.50 for a combo meal from a drive-thru, I expect better. If it was $5, I'd give 4 stars, but for the "value" aspect, I'm going with A-OK. The cheese curds looked really good, but I'm trying to avoid heart disease and I think the butter was enough of a risk.

For my first review I will start with an all American favorite, the family burger joint. I just relocated to the SLC area from Las Vegas and have started the process of finding my favorite places and see a sign that says, "Culvers, Home of the Butter-Burger", they had me at butter burger!! This place is a little slice of America which makes it a great place to go all by itself but then you get tp order, my favorite is the Sourdough Melt with grilled onions but I have to flip a coin everytime I get ready to order because the Wisconsin Three Cheese Butterburger is a treat, hamburgers made the way they are supposed to be made, mouth watering. What is truely amazing about Culvers though is all of the "other" things that you can get, the Beef Pot Roast Sandwich is perfect and the North Atlantic Cod Filet Sandwich will make you think that you are on the white beaches of Cape Cod. I could go on about the menu choice's but you really must try it yourself, and lest I forget, if you are looking for a place to get a great dessert Culvers may be one of the best dessert places you will find for your basic summer style ice cream desserts ............ yes, it really is that good!!! On my last visit I was able to meet one of the owners, Kristin Davis, even if I did not love this place as much as I do I would go back just because the staff was great and Mrs. Davis was wonderful. This is the Kishter out for now but you will soon find me at ................................................................. only the shadow knows :)

I've been here several times and the food has always been good and the staff extremely friendly and they genuinely seem to like their jobs. I would say the burgers fall somewhere between Arctic Circle and Five Guys- better than the average fast food joint, but not quite as good as the gourmet burger places. The real appeal of Culver's for me is the frozen custard. Last time i went I had a chocolate peanut butter concrete that was divine! They offer a variety of shakes and sundaes, as well. I believe you can even buy containers of the ice cream to go.

    (3)
  • Cade R.

Sooo I love the food here. (Aside from the mushroom Swiss burger...) The only reason this isn't 5 stars is the wait time. And I'm referring to the time you wait to actually place your order. You have to wait for quality fresh food and that's just how it goes... If you're in a hurry, probably not the 1st choice. They're always busy - rightfully so.

Oh my frozen custard! I wish Culver's would move to Davis (or Weber) county. Because I really enjoyed our meal there, & I wish there was one closer to me. I had the butter burger. I picked up a distinct hint of buttery-goodness in the first bite. But after that initial taste, the butter flavor faded. I'd rate the burger as average. The deep-fried cheese curds were fun. Surprisingly, the chicken tenders were the standout of the meal. Two of my kids ordered them & I snuck a bite. They were so good that I told my husband to try some too. He agreed! They were fantastic. Fresh, white chicken meat. Perfectly breaded & cooked. I'm definitely ordering chicken tenders the next time I go. And of course, there was the frozen custard! It was delicious. I had the (seasonal) pumpkin cheesecake. It was phenomenal! Those Wisconsiner's know how to do dairy! For a fast-food place, Culver's is tops.

    (4)
  • Seth B.

What makes Culver's so good is its variety. Burgers are pretty good, but their chicken tenders are the best I've had in a fast food joint. The fries are top notch and the food is always fresh. It doesn't hurt they have a full on ice cream shop. Their ice cream is not of the normal fast food variety, it's real custard made fresh. Culver's is up there with In'n'Out for me.

    (5)
  • Ashley J.

The burgers and fries are average. They are good basic hamburgers on a juicy bun. The chicken is really good. The shakes are great also. The thing that sets it above the other burger places around is price. We ordered food for a family of 4 including a shake and it only cost $20.

    (4)
  • Diena R.

My first time (everyone has one), and I tried the chicken tenders. Yum!! Enough sauce and more tenders than I could eat. Cheese curds too. Hubby going to try the custard that everyone says is to die for. We shall see. It was good enough to try again.

    (5)
  • Alysse L.

CUSTARD... let's just be clear, custard is not ice cream. It is compressed so there is less air than ice cream resulting in a creamier texture and less chance of brain freeze. Also it has a higher freezing point than ice cream and is much more desirable if it has never actually been frozen. One of my favorite places! Get a cheddar butterburger and don't forget the custard!

    (5)
  • Dustin B.

Even though I'm not a big pumpkin fan, I tried out the new Salted Caramel Pumpkin Pie concrete shake... and it was INCREDIBLE! Extremely creamy and smooth and this will not be the last time I get one.

    (5)
  • Jescey L.

The frozen custard is amazing! Would eat it every day if I could. Cheese curds are little bites of heaven. The burgers are too salty for my taste but usually pretty good. The price is on the higher side but not too unreasonable. The servers are pretty nice but sometimes can be a little ditsy. Would definitely recommend going here at least once a week, if only for custard.

    (4)
  • Terry G.

Nothing special. Poor customer service. Fries were good. But for the price of the burger I'd rather eat at Crown Burger

    (2)
  • Tiffani M.

Bonus points for the fried cheese curds. My only complaint was that the fried foods (like the curds and onion rings) had an 'old' taste to it. When they were super hot it wasn't as noticeable, but as they cooled it was more apparent. The Culver brand Root Beer was delicious, and the patty melts were just OK. I LOVE that they have soda water on tap though. Overall, just middle of the road, but certainly good. I wish I could have tried the custard as I'm sure that's their standout item (egg allergy). I certainly would go back, but with more managed expectations.

Walked into a line out the door, only one person was helping out the guests. The line took over 10 minutes to get through. Went to sit down, many booths were available but all of which were filthy. Napkins, cups, straws, and a spilt shake on the ground. Not impressed with the cleanliness of the restaurant and many employees standing around not helping cash out guests.

  • Angie L.

i will say that the staff are super friendly and i enjoyed my first visit here. i got some chili and fries. the fries were just okay and i thought the chili was way too sweet. i however do appreciate that they list all of their ingredients on their website. i may be back to try some of their other food.

  • Kelie H.

I have to admit, I haven't had one of these butter burgers, but I did have cheese curds and a concrete. Who could possibly need more than cheese curds and ice cream? The cheese curds were amazing little nuggets of salty, crispy fried cheese. The concrete was ok, but I won't be racing cross town to get one again. In my opinion Iceberg really has the monopoly here.

    (3)
  • Robert B.

The Wisconsin cheese curds are the best thing I've tried there. Burgers are alright. The mushroom swiss is probably their best burger. Ice cream tastes like any other joint.

I swear I've reviewed this before! But I can't seem to find my review! Before I saw the nutritional information, I loved Culver's. I always come here for the chocolate with peanut butter concrete mixer, and the cheese tots. The cheese tots are delicious, but if you don't eat them fast enough they begin to take on a chicken texture. My favorite item from Culver's is their concrete mix ins. You simply cannot go wrong with chocolate custard with half a jar of peanut butter mixed in. I recently downloaded an app called "Restaurant Nutrition" and looked up some of my favorite foods. I think my eyes almost popped out of my skull when I read Culver's nutritional information! A medium chocolate w/ mix in concrete mixer has 996 Calories, 89.0 fat grams, 393.0mg of Cholesterol, and 122.0g of carbohydrates. This is insane! I normally get the large! I couldn't bring myself to look at the calorie information on that one. The cheese curds are just as bad! 6.74oz of cheese curds have 670 calories, 38 grams of fat, 75mg of cholesterol, 1740mg of sodium, and 54 carbohydrates. Their food is delicious, but not worth the calories.

  • Jeffrey S.

True to my word, I did indeed go back for the ice cream. Or rather, the frozen custard. Good grief, frozen custard is tasty, and they certainly do some tasty things to it at Culver's. I also had another shot at the burgers, and I think I nailed it the first time around. It's a burger. That you order. And then you eat it. Perfectly passable, but it's nothing I'd go out of my way for. Looks like the original review stands. Get there for frozen custard and fried cheese curds, but don't go out of your way. I also was reminded of how pricey it is. Not restaurant pricey, but for the amount they charge I'd much rather go someplace with burgers that leave my knees shaking.

  • Jim H.

Good burgers, good custard, great onion rings. Top tier of fast food eateries.

    (4)
  • Ryan C.

It's like Arctic Circle with much better ice cream. The food is garden variety fast food but the frozen custard is comparable to Nielson's - yum!! Don't come without saving room for custard - otherwise you are missing the whole point of the place. :).

  • Tiffani M.

We went and picked up an order to go. The establishment was very clean and staff well organized. Excellent customer service and they had a large variety of food. We went there based on the Yelp reviews, however, we were disappointed with the food. It was just "ok". The cheese curd was good, the deluxe butter burger was so-so. The burger had a few pieces of lettuce and a small slice of tomato. We also tried the cement mixer, which is the custard with a mix of candy/fruit, etc. it was just ok. The hamburger patty seemed fresh, but tasted too greasy. We might go back, but we would have to try something else.

I try not to do fast food too often - but when I do, I want some quality and a fairly nice place to take those calories in. Upon entering Culvers you are greeted with a nice welcome and a very clean and inviting interior. I have to mention the bathrooms because, well, I used them. I have a phobia about using bathrooms in most establishments. There bathrooms were spotless and that says a lot about a place. I just wanted a quick snack and had the odd combination of a fudge pecan sundae and their fries with fry sauce. The sundae was packed with fresh whole pecans on top, and I mean packed!! A nice cherry atop and thick fudge sauce. Excellent for the price. I like their crinkly fries and you know who you are - the people that like to dip a fry in their ice cream! It was all good and Culvers is a great fast food place that satisfies that urge.

  • Monica B.

I really like their shakes, anything mixed with malt is pretty good. I wasn't really impressed with the burgers, kind of small and just mediocre. Price wise, I think they're kind of expensive. I like going here with my family, we usually order a few shakes and share what we got. I would recommend the shakes and I'll definitely be back to try a new flavor.

    (3)
  • Seth L.

Great burgers, great everything. As far as 'fast food' goes it's really at the top for quality. They have a good variety of selections, but what is really to die for is the frozen custard. They'll make it custom for you with mix ins or toppings or sell you in the pints. A different flavor daily, it can't be beat.

    (4)
  • David P.

I read reviews about the butter burgers and thought I'd stop to try it out. I got the Culver's Deluxe with Fries. The deluxe comes with two patties and veggies. I was pretty damn hungry so when I sunk my teeth into that burger, it was bliss :) The burger was really good. Meat had a nice flavor to it and the butter bun went well with it, too. Oh, and the fries were delicious! Crunchy, flavorful, and not salty at all! I just went to the Habit Burger grill a few days ago but I have to say that the Culver's burgers beats the Habits'. I definitely recommend trying this place out, at least for the burgers. There's all sorts of other things on sale here, but that's what I came for and I wasn't disappointed! Yummy!

America's love of hamburgers and fries is well known and the proliferation of burger joints is clear evidence of that. Culver's is part of that burger tradition. They serve up burgers, chicken sandwiches, party melts and other food along with fresh frozen custard and shakes. We ate here tonight for the first time. The restaurant itself seems like a dressed-up fast food restaurant. The interior is very nice for a quick service restaurant, large booths and tables with wood verneer and large framed photos of iconic Utah landscapes throughout. The floors were tile and there was a lot of rock all around. The burgers were served on a toasted lightly buttered bun and were pretty tasty. I wish I had known their hamburger patties were so small though. The burger patties are practically paper thin, thiner than In-N-Out even. Get a double or triple. Trust me. Fries were fine, tasted OK, but ultimately were nothing special and a little dry. The Oreo shake we ordered was good, but Iceberg serves up better.

    (3)
  • John C.

The cheese curds were good. the burger was horrible, even mcdonald's has a better double cheese for $1. The malt was okay, don't think I will go back.

    (3)
  • David E.

I actually got a recommendation to try this place from my dentist. He said this was the go-to place in Wisconsin while he was in school. I tried the butter burger and the cheese curds and I love them both, especially those cheese curds. My wife tried the concrete mixes and she liked them too.

    (4)
  • Duyen L.

This place is one step above regular fast food restaurant since people actually bring you food and give you a little service in term of if we need anything else, they'll go get it for us. I'm a big fan of their Atlantic Cod filet sandwich! The fish patty is crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. In combination with its butter bread, delicious. Their onion rings taste pretty good too.

    (4)
  • Joshua S.

Great mushroom burger. I really like the buttery bun, but something that kind of boggles me, is that it takes two beef patties to make a true burger at Culvers. One Culvers beef patty is the size of a piece of bologna. Decent fries with free fry sauce, and, of course, delicious frozen custard. I'm liking Culvers the more I explore the menu. For the price, However, I hope the meat is non-CAFO beef, and the produce is organic.

  • Nicole B.

Culver's was one of my go-to fast food joint when I lived in Detroit, and I was excited when I saw that Culver's was opening in Utah. It is the only place to eat in the 7 blocks between my apartment and the freeway, so I go there more often than I normally would. Culver's wins the convenience award for me. That being said, I don't like everything on the menu. Your experience with Culver's will probably depend on what you order. The ButterBurger is their signature food item, and unless you request a single, the default is a double. I don't usually order the butterburger, but I do like the mushroom swiss variety. The pot roast sandwich is my favorite. I like the cashew chicken salad. The soups are tasty, but nothing too unique. The cheese curds are tasty, and I always upgrade my baskets from fries to curds. The kids meals are a great value because they include a gigantic ice cream cone. Culvers excels in their desserts. The shakes, sundaes, and frozen custard are wonderful. They have a shake of the day, and I haven't had one that I didn't like yet. It's a little pricier than other burger joints, so I hope that they adopt a value menu like the mid-West locations. But as I said before, it's ridiculously convenient, so I'm sure I'll keep going when I want a quick fast food fix.

    (4)
  • Lex M.

I went inside to order out since it was hot and the drive thru was busy. The patties on my burger were over cooked and in pieces. The person handling cash handled my food. When I arrived home I realized my order was short. To much hassle to return to get it right. It was my first and last time there.

Utah needs another burger place like we need another season of road construction. In a state where there are some significant burger stand-outs, Culvers in my opinion falls somewhere right in the middle. The burger itself was pretty tasty, but I wasn't blown away by it. The patties are super-thin (think In-N-Out), so if you're anything more than a little bit hungry, get a double. Their root beer float was really tasty. Made with their "handcrafted" rootbeer and their house-made custard, it is a creamy, delicious delight. Their fries are of the crinkle-cut variety, which is never my favorite. Culver's fries were just ok. One item I could definitely see myself coming back for would be their fried cheese curds. The cheese curds are salty, crunchy, and really delicious. If you like fried cheese (who in the world doesn't?!?) then you'll like these as well.

My last Culver's experience was in Wisconsin visiting my brother-in-law last year. The experience here was the same. The burgers are similar to, but different from the other chains. Each one has their hook. At Culver's it's a toasted buttered bun. I also like that it's traditional ketchup, mustard, onions and pickles. Most chains seem to need some special sauce. I remember liking the custard a lot, but we didn't have any this trip. This review is about the burgers. I split a deluxe bacon cheeseburger combo with onion rings and a single butterburger with cheese. That allows checking the taste of the beef with and without toppings. The beef is that generic fast food/mega mart ground beef. You get the texture of meat, but there really isn't any beef flavor. Like most places, it's cooked past well done. I like a toasted bun, but the butter is not something I really like all that much. The toppings are average. So, it's another fast food burger. The onion rings were quite good. Real onion and decent batter that's not too heavy. Frozen, or not, they were hot and put the rings I had at Iggy's over the weekend to shame for a lot less money. I'd like to try some of the less traditional items and have custard. I'll update again then.

This is the 1st Culver's that opened in the Salt Lake area and this place offers one of the most varied Menus in fast food. Primarily based in the Midwest Culver's has a hearty menu of fried chicken, cheese curds, frozen custard, an of course their butter burgers. I have eaten a few times here and the butter burgers are what they are known for! Premium Mid-west beef covered in Wisconsin cheese. and the namesake is the buttered toasted bun. Great fresh toppings cover the burger and it tastes super-fresh. They have crinkle-cut fries, and beer battered onion rings. This is high-quality fast food. The only downside to this place is that it is always packed to the gills. They need more locations throughout the SL valley, then maybe they'll get a 5 star rating.

    (4)
  • Matt W.

A nice change from the more common fast food joints. Cheese curds are tasty and the hamburger meat is so much better than other fast options.

  • Danielle B.

So I have yet to try Culver's food, but the frozen custard keeps me coming back. I think it is such a tease that they have a flavor of the day. And why must the portions be so big. The fatty within me rejoices, while the voice of reason is screaming for help.

I love Culver's for the happy memories of going late at night during cross-state drives through Wisconsin. I am glad there is a Culver's chain restaurant in Utah because it reminds me of home. Their menu looks quite different from the other Culver's I've been to and the ice cream selection isn't as interesting as a dedicated ice cream store, in my opinion. However, the place is clean and the food is predictably tasty. One thing they seem to do better than other Culver's is the french fries. They were served hot and crisp--not soggy as some crinkle cut fries can be. I look forward to trying the chicken strips in the future. However, the butter burger is always a reliable choice.

An okay place for food, just your typical fast food burger place. The frozen custard is really great though.

If I could give Culvers a 6 I would. I love this place. It's become a Friday tradition for me and my crew at work. There's 5 of us and we head to Culvers about 3 times a month. The burgers and fries are excellent. The custard is to die for. The other menu items are decent if you want to mix things up, such as the pot roast sandwich, salads and chicken strips. And the staff are always kind and courteous. It's a "feel good" place that's relaxed and enjoyable. Only once can I say I had an even "slightly" less-than-perfect experience. It was a day that was super busy. We couldn't even get a table (had to eat outside on the tables there in October). They messed up my order, wrong size fries and forgot my custard. However, considering how busy they were it's totally understandable. They fixed it super quick and apologized for the mixup.

I went for the Cheddar ButterBurger with Bacon Combo Meal. First of all, the burger was pretty small, but at $6 for the combo, Culver's is less expensive than most. But I expect a BC combo lunch to get me through the afternoon. In this case, I had to hit up the muffins in the breakroom at work about 3:00. Maybe I should have ordered the Double. . . Anyway, the patty was thin, but tasty. The bacon was barely adequate. Toppings were plentiful and fresh. I really enjoyed the bun. Nice texture. Not too dense, not too soft, not too sweet. Just right. The pickle jammed into the top with a toothpick is an acceptable gimmick. I'm OK with crinkle cut fries, but my order could have stood another minute in the fryer. I'm alway glad to see a self-serve condiment and soda bar where I can mainline fry sauce and get a free refill of Minute Maid Lemonade. All in all, not too great, but not too shabby.

Big fan of the butter burger and their crinkle cut fries. Also think their pot roast sandwich is delicious. Above average all around for a semi fast-food joint with a large menu and friendly service.

The kid's meal is the best deal that's out there. For $5 you get a cheeseburger, fries, drink and custard. The custard is one of the best I've had. Definitely worth it.

If Culver's is to midwesterners what In-N-Out is to Californians, I'll take the west coast import. Culver's seemed like what someone thought were the best ideas from fast food and put them all together. The meat on the burgers was good, very fatty making it juicy, and heavily seared making it flavorful. The krinkle cut fries are the kind of fries that give fries a bad name. These type of fries almost always taste of freezer burn unless they're cooked for the perfect amount of time and seasoned well. These were neither. Substituting deep fried cheese curds doesn't seem like a reasonable upgrade to me. There's no excuse for blah fries anymore. The menu is odd. It's like no idea was said no to. Salads, chicken, roast beef, burgers and every variety of each plus a few "plate dinners", I guess so seniors can get a cod plate and pretend they're dining out in style. They have a selection of frozen custard and ice cream that would make Dairy Queen jealous and although I didn't try them they looked like they suffered from the rest of the menu, not knowing when to stop. Yes, people will whine that variety is a good thing. Not so much, really when you're talking burger joints. 40 things on the menu doesn't make you 40 times happier. Corners get cut in quality and preparation to accommodate the big menu. Look at Smashburger, Five Guys or In-N-Out for evidence that a small menu, done very well, is more appealing. You'll be happier with any of their burgers and fries, actually, and you'll never miss that none of them offer a fish dinner. Pepsi products and a proprietary root beer.

This place is a really good idea for a fast food place, but it doesn't tickle my personal fancy all that well. I think that the sheer variety will get me to go back again, but I wasn't terribly impressed with anything I ordered. The cheese curds and burgers that my companions were, I think, much better. My BBQ sandwich was firmly "meh", making me think that you're better off sticking to things native to the Wisconsin (Culver's origin, I think). ice cream was pretty good. I'd happily get it again, but it wasn't special. I will say one thing, and that this is easily the nicest fast food restaurant I've ever seen. It was actually clean, the service wasn't brain-dead, and the bathroom was not that of a fast food joint. A lot of the "Ick" factor behind fast food doesn't exist with this place, which is refreshing. Ultimately though, it's just another burger joint... and we have too many of those already.

This review is only for the frozen custard, that was what we came for to bring home for a family party. The vanilla and chocolate custard was thick, smooth, and not overwhelmingly sweet. We got two big quarts for about $8. would go back and try the foods and other custard flavors as well.

Butterburger? What's a Butterburger? That's what I wanted to know as a I perused the large, and unexpectedly diverse, menu at Culver's. Well I now have the privilege of knowing what makes a Butterburger...well..buttery. It's the Delicious golden flavor of the freshly buttered, slightly toasted bun that envelopes a fresh juicy patty, cheese, thick smoky bacon, lettuce and tomatoes...and don't forget the pickle on top! Delicious doesn't begin to describe it. I don't know if I'd go so far as to say it was the best burger I've ever had but right now I can't think of one I have had recently that topped this one. Here's a tip for moms and dads...the kids meals are awesome. Your little Scoopie can come with a burger, hot dog, corn dog or chicken tenders. It also comes with a coupon that you can take back to the counter at the end of the meal for a free scoop of frozen custard...uh huh huh...not ice cream...frozen custard!! I was expecting my little guy to come back with a tiny sample size free scoop. Oh no...he came back with towering cone of velvety smooth chocolate custard. I was also impressed by the delightful customer service. Now granted, this place just opened a few days ago, so we'll see if the best foot forward stays forward for long. But the staff were friendly and accommodating. They helped refill drinks, brought over condiments, cleared our table and checked on us periodically....even though the place was packed. This place didn't know the meaning of the phrase self-serve. Also something that I found exceptionally helpful was the online nutrition guide. I checked out the menu online before going to the restaurant and found the nutrition guide that let me choose my menu item, add or remove condiments, extras like cheese and mayo, and build my whole dinner with fries and all then calculated the customized nutrition information. This was so helpful for those of us counting points for weight watchers! I know a few mega-chain fast-food places that could take a lesson from this place on things like quality, customer service, variety, and online menus. Now my only problem is figuring out when I'll be on that end of town again so that I can go back!

I had never even heard of a Culver's until the other night but my goodness, I thought it was fabulous!! They cook the burger in Butter and it makes it a billion times better! Sooooo Delicious!! Also, I don't know why you would ever order fries here.. GET THE CHEESE CURDS!!!!! I had an eggnog custard to finish everything off and it was quite good as well. Overall, this place is great!

Well, we now have another place to get a burger, fries and a shake. I got the mushroom swiss something or other burger. It was decent. Better than a 'standard' fast food joint for sure, but not super spectacular. I think the cheese was real and not the fakey stuff that most burger places use, either that or I was really distracted while I ate and didn't notice.... I will say, the menu was a little more varied than most, so I'd be fine to go back a few times to try things out. And while I only had one little sip of a shake, I wouldn't mind heading there for ice cream. But overall, it's not a first choice destination for me. I think there is a lot of sentimentalism attached to this place for those who had them around growing up. I get that. It was really crowded when we went, and they were clearly training new employees, but I feel like they did try to go above and beyond to be useful. They do deliver your food to the table and will get sauces and drinks for you to be helpful - which would be really nice if you were taking a bunch of kids out to eat. Since I don't eat burgers a lot, I won't seek one out here. But, for all those who do, I'm glad there is a new option in the area.

Culvers: Part 2 - The Cheese Curd Explosion! So I went back to try this place again, and I was much happier with this visit. Instead of a burger I had the pot roast sandwich, and it was quite good. The meat was very tasty and tender. I did have the fries again, but some friends had the cheese curds... and I taste tested a couple of them. WOW are these good. However, these cheesy bites of heaven should come with a warning on the bag! My first bite squirted hot grease out of my mouth and landed someplace... and my friend next to me, bit into one, and it squirted on to my face just above my eye. Now it is not like it really hurt or anything, it just gave me something to laugh about. But all I can say is... if you are going to eat a hot, fresh cheese curds, do your neighbor a favor and follow these simple steps. #1 Insert Cheese Curd into mouth #2 Close mouth #3 Chew #4 Swallow #5 Open Mouth #6 Repeat Anyway, this visit made me more of a fan than I was before... glad I went back and gave it another try. Until next time I eat... cheese curds, with my mouth closed. Doc

Went here on a whim after hearing ok things about it. I had a burger that was a little disappointing, the fries were just ok. The kids got a coupon for a scoop of custard, so I decided to get a custard cement. I opted for a peanut butter one. Have to say this was the best custard I have ever had. Will definitely be going back, but next time I will not be having a burger. Maybe the Ruben and some cheese curds.
