What a disappointment! Lured in by previous good reviews we stopped here on our way home from a weekend in Zion National Park. Our server, Brittany, recommended the buffalo burger and cautioned it would be medium, since it's such a lean meat. My date was fine with that, and also asked for no mayo. His burger came out with mayo on the side, AND on the burger. Ask for no mayo, you get a double serving. He sent it back to the kitchen, and a few minutes later he got a charred, well-done version served to him. We thought it was the same burger with the mayo rinsed off and thrown on the grill to remove any trace of the sauce. Brittany denied this, said it was a fresh burger grilled with a press on top to make it cook faster. Also, his onion rings were lukewarm, not piping hot, and he never received the root beer he ordered. Hunger and a desire to get home motivated him to eat the burger, but it wasn't enjoyed. I ordered penne pasta, and asked for 50/50 sauce - half pesto, half tomato cream. I received a bowl of tomato cream sauce penne pasta, with a side of pesto cream. The menu doesn't indicate the pesto would be a cream sauce - quite a difference. No mention was made that there would be an additional $1 charge for this, which wouldn't have been a big deal but it should be disclosed in advance. Brittany took 20% off the bill for the burger mix-up. She charged for the root beer we never received, but removed it when we pointed out he never got it. Lastly, there were swarms of flies surrounding us during our meal. Overall we recommend passing Dirk's for another place down the road. The mixups on our menu, the modest reduction on our bill, and the lack of ambiance (flies!) have us giving this restaurant a thumbs down.

Food was ok, my wife wanted mashed patatoes with white gravy but what she got was garlic overpowering patatoes with a funky white bacon slop on top the was scooped out of a mass made pan. I got a burger with fries and it wasn't too bad. While waiting they served their normal waiting bread but the waitress failed to tell me this was scalding hot waiting bread... ill come back again cause I love the burger's but I just hope none of you get the Blondel waitress I got that was horrible with customer service.

Don't ever get their garlic fries. They are super gross. Waitress was nice

Solid small town diner food. The cakes and pies looked great, but I was too full.

If you are in Manti for whatever reason, there is certainly no better place than this for Dinner. The food is good, the prices are decent, and the service is great. That being said, if you are not in Manti for another reason already, I would not put it on your priority list to go there just to eat at this place. But if you do go to Manti, stay at the Yardley Inn and then you get a free desert at Dirk's. Not a bad deal, their cobbler is pretty darn enjoyable after all...

Good food. Reasonable prices. Ambiance is appropriate for the name and type of theme they are advertising. Family friendly. Generally large portions except the kids menu which were unusually small (burger). Huge soft drinks. Desserts were very good and big. We shared. We would certainly eat there again.

Great atmosphere! Loved the chicken and farmhouse decorations. The country music also added to the great setting. The Navajo Taco was amazing. I was excited to try it because it is topped with their house chili and it did not disappoint. It was quite a lot of food; I was very satisfied. My wife had the Chicken Marsala and quite enjoyed it. She thought the bacon on top was particularly good. She thought it was just enough food, not too much but satisfying. The soda portions are enormous so even though they get unlimited refills, you would have to be incredibly thirsty to ever use it. We had the apple beer, as well as the coconut Italian creme soda and the prickly pear creme soda. All were fantastic but we especially recommend the prickly pear creme soda. We would definitely come here again.

Stopped in on Saturday the 23rd of August. We were greeted pleasantly enough by a young woman and offered a table large enough for two for our party of 4 adults. We pointed to a booth large enough for our group that was empty and were promptly seated there. Our orders were taken, the menu was expansive and the items sounded good. 45 minutes later we returned to the counter to inquire about our food. She said I'll check. 15 minutes later it arrived. We noticed a large post wedding party in the private room of the restaurant which probably accounted for the delay, but to not advise us was unforgivable. My soup was room temperature, but obviously made on site and delicious, others at the table reported the food was good. Had the staff been more at tentative we would have had an enjoyable dining experience.

Dirks has good food. The serving staff was very friendly, accommodating, and helpful. They made recommendations that turned out good. We arrived late the first night and they stayed open to feed us. I'm gluten free (allergic but not to the point my food has to be prepared in gluten free only environment) so I had a much more limited selection. Those who could eat anything said the pasta was good, flavorful, right seasonings. The table shared mac and cheese bites and seemed to enjoy them. Someone had the ribeye special and said it was very good. The burger was well prepared and flavorful. I had the grilled chicken with pesto and goat cheese. I thought there was a bit too much pesto but the chicken was wonderful - moist and cooked perfectly. I loved the flavor of the pesto and goat cheese. We especially enjoyed the Desert Pear Lemonade - a mix of prickly pear, pear and lemonade. YUMMM. The next day we wandered back for breakfast. Basics - eggs, bacon, toast etc. The server brought my eggs with toast laying on top even though I told her I was gluten free. I'm not extremely allergic so I just took the toast off and handed it to the other person at the table (who had ordered it.) But it could have been a big problem. The eggs were not hot, the food had been sitting and since we all ordered a similar dish they should have come out hot. Nice server and the place was empty when we were there so no excuse as to why it wasn't delivered immediately. Reading other reviews, I'd offer a suggestion to the owners and staff: PAY ATTENTION TO THE ORDERS. It's not always about what we prefer, sometimes it's a major food allergy. If that were the case I would have sent it back and probably not eaten at all because I wouldn't have trusted that they didn't just bring back the same food. Overall it was a good place to stop and eat.

Disappointing! I guess the original menu and/or cooks left since we last visited. The menu has changed, the ingredients are no longer fresh and taste from a box, jar or canned. We had been so excited to come back after our great experience and unfortunately can no longer recommend the place. Perhaps they do a good burger, and they certainly were busy, but the items on the menu and the California quality is definitely gone.

Hard to find gluten free- vegetarian food in rural Utah, but these guys nailed it. I had the veggie portabello sandwich and it was delicious. Service was fast and friendly. Will definitely hit up this place again next time I'm in town.

I'm not saying I had a bad dining experience, I'm just saying it would have been cheaper, easier, faster, and an over all more pleasant experience if I had gotten into a head on collision whilst driving and gone to the hospital with fatal injuries.

Slow, slow, SLOW service. Food is OK. I honestly cannot believe how slow it is here. Guys...figure out how to run a restaurant.

I came here for a graduation dinner for my girlfriend's sister. The options are limited in Manti, but somehow she had never been here before. Others have mentioned cleanliness being a problem here, but it didn't look bad when we were here. The service was fine as well. The menu was pretty big. I settled on a goat cheese burger and garlic fries. The food came out after a little bit and I was ready to eat. The burger was good. It was big, and took some effort to eat, but it was good for the first half or so. The meat was good, not great. The garlic fries were my favorite part of the meal, I really enjoyed them. After awhile the burger stopped tasting so good...I'm not really sure why, but I just didn't finish it. The food could have been a little more warm as well. Overall it was an okay experience. You don't have many options in Manti, and this is one of the nicer/only places to sit down and eat.

Hit and miss with this restaraunt. Had hamburger and was pretty good. Told us that a banquet was coming and to kind of hurry it along. My husbands steak was raw on one side and cooked good on other. My friends steak he ordered medium and was very well done on one side and like shoe leather and other quarter part well done. It was not edible. No way. So looks like the flames to cook are not working or cooking error. Waitress new and second day there talked to her friends quite a lot and not attentive. My friend told waitress steak was not edible and she had to go find manager. Offered new steak. 45 minutes later no steak. Said don't want meal anymore. Manager argued with my friend 20 minutes and brought new steak out and demanded payment. Friend said been there over an hour and a half already and no. Didn't want steak now. Manager charged 12.99 for a pop, carrots, fries, salad and demanded that to be paid. Friend said call the police. I am not paying. Added up off menu those items were only 9 dollars. So. If a banquet that day, I wouldn't go there. Friendliness is a zero. Waitress needs to stay attentive and tell her friends she's working. Manager needs a course in communication and how to handle problems in the food industry or go get a job where you don't talk to anyone or solve problems. Will be contacting owner. I don't think manager at this restraunt understands reviews or how they effect your reputation in the food industry.

Visiting here for work and thought I would check this place out. Prices were pretty high for breakfast meals. Quality was average. Service wasn't the best. Not very hospitable or cordial. I got an omelette and home fries that was pretty comparable to IHOP or Denny's. Probably won't be coming back here again. There were a lot flies as well making my breakfast less enjoyable. :(
