Tandoori Oven Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Tandoori was one of the very first restaurants I tried in Logan, and the very first time I had Indian food. I was hesitant--generally I balk at restaurants in gas stations--but Tandoori the first time was awesome. and the second. And the fifth. and the seventeenth. I don't even know how often I've been there anymore, but it's a Logan staple. I love the Chicken Tikka Masala and the garlic naan more than I've loved any other chicken tikka masala and garlic naan (since trying Indian food, I've branched out :P), and I dread the thought of what I'm going to do for Indian food when I graduate. In this review, however, I want to focus on the service. Tandoori has almost always had excellent service, but last night they went above and beyond. I invited a bunch of my cohorts to Tandoori to celebrate my birthday (and eat Indian food, which, let's face it, is way more entertaining than a twenty-something birthday) and a surprising number showed up. More than I expected. Awesome for me, but perhaps not so awesome for the restaurant. It turns out that there was another big group there that night, and as the restaurant is tiny, we had quite a wait in front of us. Despite that, however, the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and accommodated. The manager asked if we'd like to make our orders before we sat down so we wouldn't have to wait once we were seated, and they magyvered a big table for us using a booth. And they did all this without being annoyed that we were a big group who didn't make reservations (my bad). The staff at Tandoori has done other such good deeds in the past, but this time really stuck out to me. I'm definitely recommending them (well, more than I already do) and I can't wait to go back! Also, the adjoining gas station is a little Indian market and it is quite fun. I dye my hair with henna, and while I'm thinking about transitioning to chemicals for the winter (washing mud out of your hair in 12 degree weather just plain sucks), I'm glad to know that body art quality henna--fun lesson, never dye your hair with henna hair dye; always go for body art quality--exists in Logan, and for a good price! Basically, go here. If you're hesitant about Indian food, get the chicken tikka masala in mild spicy level. If you're hesitant about gas station restaurants, I totally get it, but eschew that hesitation and go anyway. If you don't live in Logan, the fall leaves are really pretty right now and it totally warrants a drive "up the canyon"...you don't have to specify WHICH canyon until your travelmates start whining. If you do live in Logan, why are you still reading this Yelp review? They close at ten! Get thee to Tandoori!

right to business, my main issue is that although the food was on par maybe a little less than that of similar restaurant in town. the experience was completely wrecked by the cramped area, run down facility, and complete lack of anything that looked like professional service. my water cup stayed empty even after i had asked to get some more....twice.... no one checked on us during the duration of the meal. and we sat there for a 15 minuets after our meal waiting for our check after we had asked for it. you think maybe they where just busy... well they where not. they have the space the size of a small room to keep track of and for me they failed. "no shirt, no shoes, no service" maybe they would have paid more attention to my wife and i had we not been wearing out shirts.

The flavors are incredible. I agree with other reviews indicating that as the food shows up, you think you will leave hungry. However, I left very full and quite satisfied. I have tried to get my wife to go and try Indian food for some time. She finally gave in and it was well worth it. Any of the Tikki Marsalas are great. Get some Naan to go with it. Usually one serving of naan per person. You can order the level of heat you like. I am "spicy-intolerant" and asked for the dishes to be zero spicy. It was wonderful. Full of flavor without any heat. Highly recommended. Would have given full 5 stars, but we had quite a few flies join us for dinner. Not cool. Too many flies to assume it was just bad luck.

This is such a happy and casual place with really good food. Let's start by writing that all the waiters, chefs, everyone, is Indian in this restaurant. They were all so nice and interested in our dining experience. The location is so ugly it's almost funny. Once inside, while casual and dumpy, it's inviting and fun. The food is simply wonderful. My daughter had the chicken tikka masala which can be too thick and creamy--not here. The Channa Masala was perfect and spicy. I had the biryani which was flavorful with high quality meats. This was our favorite restaurant while visiting Logan.

Don't let the gas station fool you. This food is awesome. The staff is friendly. The restaurant is cramped but not too noisy. It doesn't matter anyway, the food is so worth it. I love the Tandoori chicken (of course) and the chicken tikka masala. The mango lassi is a yummy treat and is sweet and creamy. Entrees are about $10 each. Every time I get my food, I think it is too small and I will leave hungry, every time I can't finish it all and leave too full. This is the place to go for Indian food!

  • Sara B.

Always tasty. Good service. Somehow the fact that it is in a gas station minimart doesn't phase me. Kind of adds to the experience somehow. Lines can be long at times, but it's worth the wait.

When was the last time you saw an Indian place advertise vegan options on their menu? When was the last time you had some of the best, most complex, stunning Indian cuisine, except it was in a small town in a red state? When was the last time you went to an Indian restaurant that was literally nestled inside a gas station? When was the last time you dropped acid? Tandoori Oven is one of the most surreal things on this planet. One of these days I expect a genie to pop out of my samosa and grant me some wishes.

One of my favorite places in Logan!! The food and service are both always great. This is a great take out or eat in option. So strange to find this great place in Logan, but so happy that its here!

A Logan native myself, I'm currently living in Cambridge for college. One of my favorite parts of going home is coming to Tandoori Oven. I've eaten at some decent Indian places in Cambridge and Boston, but none of them hold a candle to Tandoori Oven. The inside is surprisingly well-furnished for being the inside of a gas station. The waiters are always super nice. I'm a big fan of the Chicken Tikka Masala, the garlic naan, and the mango lassi. I can't wait to come back!

Excellent Indian food! This is where the locals go. Some of the best Indian food in the western US.

  • Mischa P.

Excellent food. Lost one star due to the ambiance. The place felt old and less-than clean. Back to the food; we had saag paneer, Mali kofta, garlic & ginger naan, and rose milk. It was all wonderful. The rose milk was an amazing treat; never had this anywhere else and it was just delightful.

Tandoori Oven is THE BEST Indian food in Utah... and I know my Indian food! I've eaten at every Indian restaurant along the Wasatch Front from Ogden to Provo, and Logan. These guys are the best. Service is great. The gas station attached to the restaurant has Indian spices and ingredients if you want to try your hand in Indian cooking at home too. Also, when you are in the restaurant section, you can't even tell that there is a gas station right there. The restaurant itself is very nice, classy and clean.

I wish we got a little more food! The food was great I just wanted a little more because I guess I am a typical hungry american haha.

As you pull up to Tandoori Oven, you can't help but feel somewhat sketched out. It's attached to a gas station! The food however, it delicious! Probably ranks one of the best indian food I've ever had. The Naan bread is really delicious! The service is what you would expect at a typical indian restaurant. Plenty of food, enough for leftovers.

Not next to a gas station, it is part of the gas station! Food was good, lunch buffet selection not that large. Went on a Saturday afternoon around 1:30pm.

Great food in a gas station in Logan, UT. We hit it on a Saturday afternoon and had the buffet, great food, lots of choices, and some really good service.

I have never had a better array of Indian than when I eat at Tandoori. The lunch menu is excellent. Try everything!

  • Oscar M.

Amazing from beginning to end. The service was outstanding. They were nice and proud of their work. The food had no missing link, everything was great. The tomato soup, naan, rice, chicken, and the indian coffee were all more than satisfying. Best Indian food I've had. A must eat of you are in Logan.

  • Annie C.

Loooooove this place! Love it more because it is at a gas station! Sometimes parking is a pain and the wait can be long but it is the best ethnic food in the valley. I am originally from sf bay area so I grew up with lots of different types of asian foods. And I have to say that tandoori oven taste like the Indian food from home. It is a bit pricier than ca but what am I going to do? It is one of our favorite places to go eat.

Tandori Oven is another of Logan's hidden treasures... LITERALLY. It is tucked away inside of a gas station and you would miss it if you did not know to look for it! The "location" of the restaurant is not the best on the outside, but when you think of where it is located--a couple blocks from Utah State University and just down the hill from where many of the professors live... these peeps are smart cookies!!! An easy walk for students who don't have cars and a quicky bike ride for lots of eco-concious Loganites! Once you walk inside, althought it may not be the most fancy-schmancie placies of all time, you are transported to a world not of the U.S. INDIA. It smells of spices, heat, and the most wonderful mystery smells from the great gods of cooking. The menu offers a huge vegetarian selection, along with lamb, chicken and Na'an..Strawberry Lassi's are my drink of choice; a fresh yogurt drink with strawberries (helps to cool the heat of the curry and extra spicey dishes..) My favorite starter is the Tomato Soup; a soup that is sweet and spicey, loaded with onions, and blend of spices that I am guessing include Cinnamon, peppers, curry, and a bit of heaven as well! My favorite dishes there are the Butter Chicken, a fall apart chicken in a creamy, nutty, spicy sauce-you can tell them how spicey you want your dishes too, this is the best part. It is served with a bed of white rice and fantastic. Of course the Garlic Na'an is the best I have had. I have eaten at other Indian places and it can be underdone and even soggy in the middle, but at Tandori it is always nice and charred, with tons of flavor.. YUM. I would rate this as on of the top two or three restaurants in Logan.. Easy Peasy. Try it out!

LOVE this place. Food is excellent, flavor explosion in my mouth. Great variety, great service. These folks really know how to make you feel welcome. Always treated with warmth and friendliness. Who cares, its in a gas station. When it's busy, its worth the wait. If you like Indian, this is the place, NOT the place down on main street.

  • Bryan R.

Incredible food, attentive service, warm atmosphere. Well worth the price. Who knew there could be a great restaurant at a gas station in Logan Utah?

  • Eve P.

We went for dinner on a Saturday and glad we beat the rush because every table was taken within 10 minutes of our being there. The service was good and food came fairly quickly for how packed they were. I was a little apprehensive going to a restaurant adjoined with a gas station, but it was clean and the food was good. The veg coconut kurma and veg curry were excellent while the paneer tikka masala was mostly sauce with a few chunks of unflavorful cheese. Rice and naan were good and portions were good sizes for the price. We will definitely be returning.

  • Yolanda L.

One of the best Indian restaurant I've ever been! The owners are a sweet nice family! Who are extremely professional and friendly. The rice, naun, chicken tic masala, chicken tica and the vegetables with coconut salsa was perfect !!! The dishes were each one of there original flavors many indians restaurants I have been the salsas test kind off the same. But on this restaurant I was very impress with the quality and originality the dishes brought. Deserts are very taste and original ! I'm sad that its so far away from home :( I hope you like :) Yoyo

After pulling up and seeing that the restaurant was located in a gas station, our group was a little intimidated. We were greeted by a very nice man. He immediately showing us to our seats. The atmosphere is that of a typical Indian restaurant with dark red walls and Taj Mahal decor. Our order was promptly taken with excellent recommendations of the most popular items on the menu by our wait-staff. The alcoholic beverage list consisted of 5 reds, 5 whites and a full page of beers. The non-alcoholic beverage list was complete with chai tea and coffee. The lamb coconut kumar and chicken tikka masala were superb. The garlic naan had krispy edges with gooey flavorful centers. The chia tea was delicious. At the conclusion of our meal the manage came to speak to us about our experience, and gain insight into our choice of restaurant along with our opinion of our evening. We will undoubtedly return!

We read the reviews and since we were in Logan we drove a little out of our way for this place. It was totally worth it. Great service, awesome food and a warm atmosphere. Definitely check it out!

Just what I need at the end of a long day. Wonderful food, amazing service, decent hours, and always hospitable, even if we call in at the very last minute for takeout. Been here dozens of times in the past couple of summers. Incredible rice pudding, vegetable samosas, and if you are used to anything spicy, definitely do not shy away from ordering spicy, it is just the right amount of spice without kicking you in the face

  • Mikey K.

My favorite restaurant in Logan even though I don't typically crave Indian food. The naan is great and it's a pretty good value. Spicy-ness can be adjusted. Each time I've gone I have increased the level of spice I request, because it's never been spicy enough for me. Next time I am planning to try "Native Spicy" Tandori Oven is literally located within a gas station, which adds to its hole-in-the wall charm. *good place for vegetarians

  • Maria M.

Good food, inconsistent service. We came for dinner and were seated promptly. Ordered the veggie sampler platter and received the veggie pakora and informed our server of the discrepancy. He was hesitant in offering us options of what to do next and he may just have been a little new. Our main dishes were the chicken tikka masala and the lamb coconut korma. We order both medium spicy although the tikka seemed a lot spicier. Probably because it had less coconut milk. Both were excellent. Rice was well-seasoned but the naan was almost completely lacking salt. Bummer. Water service was prompt and plentiful. Our server didn't offer us desserts, which was too bad because the mango ice cream sounded awesome. The food was good enough to return and the service, while inconsistent, was not offensively so.

A MAZING! I was in town for the Tour of Utah and made my coworkers drive through the horrible traffic after the event was over across town to grab food to go to eat in our hotel room once we got to Ogden. I ordered the Chicken coconut kurma and it was TO DIE FOR! I also got the Naan Bread with Garlic and Ginger and it was also, AMAZING! Great food and also their customer service was great (for takeout, not sure about dining in). The lady at the front that took our to-go order and rung us up was this cute Indian lady and she was just so sweet! Helped us with recommendations on what to order, etc. Thank you!!

Classic hole-in-the-wall Bias. I have never eaten at an Indian restaurant i did not like. Tandoori Oven is no outlier. I really enjoyed my lunch but would have to rate the food in the middle of the pack with respect to other Indian restaurants i have tried. The staff is awesome and provided excellent service. I had the lunch buffet and was out the door for $8.60 plus tip. Tandoori Oven has an incredible local reputation. I know many die-hard's who swear by this place. Because of the reputation & outstanding Yelp reviews, i walked in with high expectations and was slightly let down - the food was average. So why is Tandoori Oven so highly regarded??? Here is my opinion: Hole-in-the-wall Bias - Tandoori oven is extremely unique; especially for Logan. This may explain why so many people are excited about it. Just take a look at the number of reviews compared to other places around. Why is this place being reviewed 2,3, or 4 times more? two words - IRRATIONAL EXUBERANCE. Note: Reviews by Indians seem to be much more negative. Also, notice how so many people reference the restaurant being located in a weird gas station. Apparently, more restaurant owners need to close down their spacious restaurants and move into crammed gas stations... For these reasons, I think this place is good but overrated. Word to the wise: Adjust the scale down by one star at least

  • Kymberly G.

Food was excellent, although I had no idea what I was eating. Staff was super friendly, too, and the place was clean. Logan/Providence is a small area and I didn't expect to find such a little gem of foreign food there so we were very pleasantly surprised and excited to eat here!

I go to tandoori oven almost every other week and I really like the food. Their dishes have great taste and flavor profile. My favorite is Lamb Saag. My only complain is sometimes the meat can be hard and chewy but that has happened just few times. The service is also good and fast. It totally worth a try

Awesome. Good food. Good atmosphere. 10/10 Would come back and recommend to anyone in Logan.

I have found that sometimes the best ethnic food is served in gas stations. This is no exception. Not the largest buffet but what they lack in quantity, they make up in quality. The buffet was amazing.

Wow im impressed. Who would have thought logan utah would have good Indian. I cant wait for to eat my leftovers. The chicken tikka marsala is pretty good!

  • Cordell H.

Awesome food. Awesome service. And all at an excellent price. I'm a huge fan of Indian food and tend to be extremely picky with what I order and will eat. This is one of the few restaurants that I can clean my plate. I personally like their coconut chicken kurma (extra spicy). If you want to try something new and deliciou, this is the restaurant for you. Don't let the gas station setting put you off.

    (4)
  • Rebecca B.

SOOOO good! The chicken or fish Biryani is my favorite but I haven't had anything here I didn't like. The staff is friendly and attentive.

  • Jared H.

Great hole-in-the-wall Indian restaurant. Small, cozy, courteous staff, great prices, and the food is worthwhile. It feels very mom-and-pop-ish (it is attached to the gas station, after all), and the buffet style means that you can get what you like. Because it's a smaller place the pans aren't usually full, but they are never empty which is surprising considering how well-known it is. Whenever I've gone, it's never been full, so finding a table is never a problem. The atmosphere really is great- a deep maroon color is what the walls are painted in, you have softer, dimmer light so that's why I say it's cozy. Definitely a great place to go when wanting to try something new, catch up with an old friend or just go somewhere that's not too far from most campus housing.

  • Kelli S.

Oohh so good! Such a great find in Logan! I mean, it's in a gas station....but they make it work. The place is tiny, but the food is so good that I don't really care about the building. We've only ever gone for the lunch buffet. There's not a huge selection, but the dishes they are have wonderful. The coconut korma is my favorite, but there's not one I don't like. Their naan is always fresh. They have a few traditional Indian desserts, along with random things like melon, which I never understand why buffets put out. I came for the korma, not honeydew. But regardless, the main dishes they have are on point and Tandoori Oven is probably the best Indian food I've had anywhere. A must try!

  • David P.

We live 130 miles away, but come to Logan regularly for sporting events. We always call ahead of time and eat here every time we are there. Usually about 15 times per year. This is easily the best Indian food in Utah. The setting is not great, but never had a disappointment with the food. The Naan us always hot and fresh. Vegetarian dishes are awesome. And the kids just devour the chicken Tikka Masala.

    (5)
  • Sean B.

I have been to this place 3 times. This placeis great. Try the lamb its amazing. Normally not a big fan of Indian food. This place has great food, great service, and a nice environment. Plan on spending 15 a person plus tip.

  • Haley B.

I came for the lunch buffet today, as I read some really good things about it in Yelp. I'm sorry to say that I was underwhelmed. The rice was dry, the main offerings had little meat or anything else in them and were mostly sauce, the naan was just sad, and nothing else looked particularly appetizing. I will say that it was very inexpensive. I'll return and order off the menu sometime and report back, though I think I'm through with the buffet. If Indian food in Logan truly doesn't get any better than this, I'm sad.

    (2)
  • Anil K.

Stay away if you can.. except for 1 or 2 dishes, most of the food tasted like it was reheated from lunch leftovers or from previous day. We saw decent reviews out there on yelp (hopefully its not fudged up) and wanted to try out but totally underwhelmed with food quality.

    (2)
  • Tori H.

I have always been wary because of the awful smell. But, it couldn't have been so highly thought of on Yelp for nothing, right? Wrong. It was not great. Probably won't ever go back!

If u don't think this place is delicious then get out of my face. This restaurant is important to me, it is important to my family, and it is important to this nation.

    (5)
  • Keller M.

Food was great! Nice tandoori chicken (very tender) but the naan was not ready when I arrived. I was the first one in at 1230pm. Also, beware of where you park around there. I am not from around that area and I parked in the lot to the side of the restaurant and got a 75$ ticket!!

  • Taylor M.

My wife and I love this place. The food is flavorful and the staff is friendly. The owner always remembers my wife's family because they have been coming here for years. He is so kind to us when we go. I have tried several dishes on the menu but there is one that always stands out for me, the chicken tikka masala. The rice is delicious and the garlic naan is good too.

    (5)
  • Doug S.

Outstanding. The place is inside gas station mini mart but is a hole in the wall restaurant that has food that will knock your socks off. I had the Mango Chicken and tomato soup and my wife had the chicken Marsala. All was fantastic. I ordered the mango chicken extra spicy and it certainly was perfect for me. The tomato soup was mild with a hint of cinnamon that just plain worked. I lost half to my wife... Highly recommend.

Don't let the gas station fool you... This place if off the hook. If you're looking for great flavor and authentic Indian food, look no further. STAFF: I was here on business travel and I thought to myself... Indian food in Utah, yeah right! Boy was I way wrong! This place is small but warm and inviting. The staff was very friendly. FOOD: Lamb... I had the tandoori Lamb which was insane delicious. If you like lamb your will love this dish. The lamb was tender but just bursting with flavor. This is a must for lamb lovers Chicken... Chicken Tikka Masala... one of the best dishes I've had and I've eaten this dish at so many different places I can't even count. I live in the SF Bay Area and we have some the the best restaurants in the world. We have a huge Indian population and there's an Indian restaurant just about ever street corner. Of course not all of them are good. Naan... The naan was one of the best I've had. it was fluffy inside yet the outside had that slight crunch. Warm and just out of the clay over was oh so good! Aloo Mutter... This was good. Not the best but it was good and for those of you who don't know, this is a potatoes and pea dish. Next time I'm in town, I'll be going to this place for sure.

"Heaven on Clouds of Rice" This family operated establishment is my go to place in Logan. Alot of restaurants are hit-n-miss in Logan, and inconsistent with their food quality, but Tandoori, is always consistent and always delicious. Their serving sizes are generous, and the staff is very friendly. The prices are great, and the indian food is authentic. If you want something cheaper, or if it is your first time going, you can sample all the popular dishes with the lunch buffet. I would warn however, that if you don't like tight squeezes, visit outside of peak hours. This place has become very popular in logan, and has not scaled to fit the rising demand. as a result, the space can feel a bit crowded during a rush, and you may have to wait a min of 20 minutes to be seated. It reminds me of a lot of the hole-in-the-wall NYC type restaurants, so I don't mind it, but It has turned some of my friends off the place.

The Best Indian Food I've had hands down. This place is the best place in Logan by far, I actually really like their location and the customer service is awesome. I have never had anything I don't like here. If you love Indian food and are in Utah, this is the place to go!

  • Saniya S.

Being an indian i have tried indian food at many places in USA and truely speaking some of them are really good. This one is the worst Indian place I have been here. We saw all the reviews on yelp and thought to go here.. But I have no idea why people have written so good reviews.. The food was bland, no taste, chicken not cooked. Chicken Biryani didn't have chicken in it. Quality of food is also not good.

This place lives up to its reputation. I live in Utah valley and this easily competes (india palace). Great food, not over priced. Highly recommended!

My wife and I crave Tandoori Oven. Been going there on special dates for 10 years now. They serve authentic and tasty dishes prepared fresh and with the friendliest staff in the valley. Lunch buffet is great! Chicken Tikka Masala with a garlic Naan is my staple item if I'm ordering from the menu. They do sell imported beer which pair nicely with the food. I suggest the Taj Majaal. It's a larger bottle and always comes served with a frosted mug. You won't be disappointed.

  • Heidi B.

My husband and I are frequent diners here. We are always happy with our meals and our service. Most of the dishes are gluten free and there are plenty of veggie options as well. Our favorites are chicken tikka masala and Aloo gobi.

    (5)
  • Julie H.

Enjoyed the chicken tikka masala and chicken curry with rice and garlic naan. There are so many menu items I still would love to try that sound delicious. I will certainly be back.

  • Carla A.

Excellent service! Owner is awesome. Love buffets. Ask for vegetarian days. all food is good. Only complaint is overcooked naan kinda kills it for me so I have to search for least burnt one but in general awesomr!

  • David I.

Lunch buffet is an easy choice. True hole-in-the-wall that is consistently packed at lunch. Lots of delicious options for omnivores and vegetarians alike. Enjoy a hot chai tea - delicious.

  • Travis B.

Did anyone mention this place is in a gas station? Oh, okay. :) Th lunch buffet was great and, being under 10 bucks, a great value. The vegetable Saag wan't my favorite but the chicken Tikka Masala and veggie Kurma more than made up for it. The naan was a bit rubbery and flavorless but I challenge anyone to throw bread product in a steam table and do better. The decor is ultra tacky and the curtain separating you from the Camels and PBR add flair that true foodies love. This is a place you would never stop at unless you knew how great it is and gives you the sense of finding the hidden gem. Another visit is in the future.

Always GREAT food, continuously wonderful service and a quirky atmosphere. My first date in Logan was at the Tandoori oven, and my last meal after I graduated was at the Tandoori Oven.

The best Indian food ever!!! Have eaten in Chicago, Phoenix, LA. Never better. Great staff and clean place. Get reservations and you won't have to wait. Gas Station Indian. The flavors are beautifully mixed and prepared. All the dishes are prepared with just the right amount of spice.

I'd definitely give it seven stars if I could =) Favourite restaurant in Logan, hands down. Always friendly, always delicious, always wonderful. Even after being gone for months, they always recognize me. Lots of vegetarian selections, which is awesome, but I'm sure their meat dishes are superb as well. Always enough to bring home for lunch the next day. The owner even sold me my hookah =) I can't say enough wonderful things about Tandoori.

We were at the end of a travel day. Driving two hours north of Salt Lake City to Logan, Utah. My bass player/navigator consulted his phone, we made a choice and arrived just as they were about to close, however, they chose to serve us and we were most grateful. In spite of our late arrival, the owner and his staff were very friendly. They answered all our questions about the menu. We had a delicious meal, tried several items and shared, got relaxed and full of food. It was a pleasant surprise. Highly recommended.

Fantastic food, and an amazing staff. This is one of the best places to get lunch in Logan, Utah.

I have been coming here since they first opened and had withdrawals when I moved away from Logan. I do come up once a month for work and have tried to get in for dinner a couple times. I succeeded once. But the other times we were too hungry to wait 30 minutes. The ONLY complaint I have is that it is too small for how much people love this place. I have loved everything I have tried. And I love the service. All family owned and run.

Truly exquisite food, but a bit pricey for the portion size. Super ghetto location, but it sort of makes it feel more authentic. So double-edged sword there. Another point for authenticity, the waiter's English was poor. In the end though, I recommend it.

I'm from Long Island, NY. I love good Indian food. This place....this little place in a gas station in Logan friggin Utah... beats every favorite I've had in NYC, London...Anywhere! The food is phenomenal. The spicing is delectable. The breads and rice are delicious. The staff was polite and saw to your every need. The whole experience was wonderful. I balked at its appearance when a friend guided me to this place - I assumed it would be a terrible experiment. I will try to never make such a hasty assumption again. A gem. I will be back!

Took my daughter Inn-law here before an Aggie game. Some of the best Indian food in Logan.

Just to get out of town, we drove up from Ogden, for dinner at this place. Funny being next to a gas station, you wouldn't expect much. But the food blew away my taste buds. Seemed to be the crowd was all college kids, so can be a bit loud, plus sitting directly behind a door is semi-annoying. BUT the experience was so worth the drive.

My son and I discovered this amazing place on yelp. The reviews are correct. This is very high rated Indian food. I LOVE Indian food. We were greeted warmly upon arrival by the owners. The service was excellent and FAST. The lamb and vegetable samosas so good and inexpensive. Chicken and Lamb Tika Masala outstanding. The flavor outstanding and the heat element perfect. They are very popular. The tables switched over several times during our short visit. We were also warmly told good bye by the owners. Such a wonderful find.

I wasn't the biggest fun of the Indian cosine unit I tried out this place. Its location is a little bit odd (it is at the gas station) but don't let it sway you. The bright side of this location, for me, is that it is located close to Utah State University. So if you are a student at USU, definitely try out this place. I visit this place often for lunch and I'm always surprised with how deliciously their food tastes. The prices are also very reasonable. My favorite dish is chicken tic masala and the vegetables with coconut salsa, which are just amazing. The service is also great. The only reason why I gave them 4 stars is that their location is not perfect, and for people who are not from the area it may be a little repellent.

My favorite restaurant on God's green earth! This place got me through the long, dark, depressing, gray, hellish days of winter when I was matriculating at Utah State University. Birthday, graduation, regular old pick-me-up! This was my place! Thanks to Tandoori, I fell so in love with Indian food, that I eat it nearly once a week now. I live in L.A. so Indian restaurants are easy to come by... I try a new one probably every other week... and would you believe Tandoori Oven tops them all? I can't wait for Thanksgiving weekend, so I can drive up to Logan and hit up Tandoori Oven. BTW-- the curry question in Logan is Indian Oven or Tandoori Oven? TANDOORI OVEN BY FAR! Better prices, better service (downright friendly), better atmosphere, and better food... FOR THE WIN!

  • Travis C.

One of my biggest fears is that the owner of The Tandoori Oven is going to realize just how wonderful his food is and move his restaurant to a bigger city. Tandoori Oven is a perfect example that when it comes to good restaurants it's all about the food. After all, it's located in the back of a gas station and despite the fact that there is another more conveniently located indian place downtown, this one is always busy. This is truly one of the best restaurants in the region and should not be missed.

My daughter, a student at Utah State Univ, has dined here frequently. I took her here for a birthday meal. The facility is nothing more than half of a gas station. Don't let that sway you. If you like Indian cuisine, you will not be disappointed. Whether it is tandoori, curry, vindaloo, naan bread, samosa, it is all good. Pricing is fair. Service is good. A winner.

I'm tempted to write a negative review just to discourage the idly curious so I can get a table! But I couldn't do that to the best restaurant in Logan. I haven't been to India yet, but I have eaten Indian food across North America, Europe, and Africa, and Sham Singh's cooking is some of the best I've ever had, and certainly the best I've had in Utah. He tends to lay on the cream a bit heavily, presumably to accommodate the American palate. But I have no problems with cream, and what he does with the spices is like conducting a world-class symphony. It's a family business, and the sons Mohit and Jatinder run most of the day-to-day operations these days, with the mom and sister often at the cash register. The service is by far the most professional in Cache Valley, and once you're seated, you quickly forget you're inside a gas station convenience store (until you have to use the bathroom). Reservations are recommended for dinner, as this place gets seriously packed, even on Monday and Tuesday nights sometimes. They just raised their prices a bit (and added some new menu items), but it's still the best value in town. Highly recommended by this pesco-vegetarian: Any of the dishes in the saag (spinach) sauce; the malai kofta; any of the biryani dishes; and the chana samosa appetizer.

What an amazing restaurant! I can't say enough good things about this place. The tikka masala makes me drool just thinking about it. The staff and owner are friendly and attentive. Indian food elsewhere has been ruined for me because of this amazing restaurant! Yum yum

The food is great. I've never eaten at the restaurant - only picked up to eat at home. I think they have figured out that their food is better than the Indian Oven downtown. As a result they have cut the amount of meat in their recipes by at least 1/3. Entrees are mostly sauce with only a bit of meat. I'll check back in 6-12 months to see if there has been a change and update my review.

This is a great place for lunch. I came here for dinner, and the food was great, but a little expensive for me. The lunch buffet usually has 4-5 main items along with naan and rice. They also have some chutneys and other things. They also offer dessert, but I didn't have any. For my meal, I had vegetarian coconut curry, tandoori chicken, and a chicken curry of some sort - all of which were great. The tandoori chicken was my favorite. The servers and owners made sure all the items were refilled, so I never ran into a problem with things running out (naan often goes quickly). The only bad side to Tandoori is that the size. It gets packed for lunch, but they clear tables quickly and you don't have to wait long.

There are 2 unbelievable Indian dining options in Logan, and might I say both are pretty much fabulous, and necessary because they each can get packed! Like the other reviewers - you can't go wrong with any of the menu options, and lunch buffet is a must. Veggie Masala is heaven, and if you ask for it Vegan, yummy! Even better. This family owned restaurant is an absolute treat.

Affectionately nick-named "gas station Indian". It's practically on campus. Great food, great lunch buffet, with an indian market next door at the gas station. So if you want to try actually cooking indian food, they have the spices and ingredients! - Love it!

In town for the weekend and went here based on the great online reviews... We were not disappointed. Everything we tried was delicious (chicken tikka, chicken vindaloo, veg samosas, tomato soup, garlic naan). It was more than reasonably priced (cheap by AZ standards). The people working were really nice. One thing the other reviews haven't mentioned: go into the gas station before you leave! They have a great selection of beer and also a wide array of Indian cooking spices. Definitely check it out if you're in Logan. And make a reservation. Yes, for a gas station. We did that based on another review and didn't have to wait like the many people we saw when we were leaving.

I've wanted to eat here for awhile and finally did thanks to the nice people on Yelp! The food was great and the staff was really helpful to us. They recommended what was best for people unfamiliar with Indian food. I'll eat here again soon.

You wouldn't expect to find it in Northern Utah, let alone in a GAS STATION, but this is seriously some excellent Indian food. I've been to many Indian restaurants and this is the best one I've experienced. The food is never too greasy and the dishes all have a nice blend of spices. They'll make the dishes as spicy as you want. The staff is really friendly and always gives pats on the back or little waves to familiar customers. Butter chicken is one of their best dishes.

I love Yelp!! We would have never found this great little Indian Restaurant otherwise! Yes, it's in a Sinclair Gas station, but when you enter the door you are in another world. We hit there for the lunch buffet which had good variety, great flavor, good service and a very friendly owner who visited our table to ensure that our meal was satisfactory. It's a 5 star in a 2-3 star location. Don't let the location fool you. It's a hidden treasure!

Visited this place while in Logan out of town. I'm always looking for good Indian food and found great food here. Took my 8 year old daughter who's never had Indian food before. The owner was kind enough to let her taste some different curries etc before we even sat down (I was worried she wouldn't like Indian food). The food was fantastic and good sized portions. Ambiance was typical - nothing great but nothing bad. Nice and quiet. Great place to be with family or a date and just talk. The service was very helpful and checked in frequently. Definitely going back next time I'm in town.

easily my favorite restaurant in cache valley. the lunch buffet is consistently excellent, and they often put some of their best dishes on it! i tried baingan bharta (twice-cooked eggplant. yum!) for the first time at their lunch buffet. tandoori oven is family owned and operated, and you can tell because the family is always there, hosting, serving, cooking, and generally making you feel welcome. feel like indian food but want to try something different? ask for a recommendation. you won't go wrong. you can't. you're in good hands. call ahead on weekends because they can fill up with a waiting list. parking is a bit of a problem, but there is ample parking on the street adjacent to the restaurant.

  • Pete D.

Why hadn't we tried this sooner? The only downside is that we went on a Friday night before a big Cache Valley event. We waited over 30 minutes for a table but the nice waiter took our order while we waited and it was ready right after we were seated. The food was excellent and flavorful.

Had their tandori chicken, chicken masala and garlic naan. Food was excellent. If you decide to go to their lunch buffet, go when they barely open because everything is fresh!

Not much I can add to the already rave reviews. We found this amazing restaurant last summer while my husband was at a conference at Utah State and we ate there three days in a row! Best Indian food I have ever had!! We have literally stopped eating Indian food in San Diego-it just doesn't compare-and wait to eat at Tandoori every August.

As others have noted, one of the two best restaurants in Logan. If you're new to Indian food, try the lunch buffet, which is an incredible bargain AND is refreshed continually, so the food is always fresh and hot. You can also ask for recommendations. The dinner service is even better. My favorite veggie dishes are the saag paneer (spinach and cheese) and the paneer mahkni. The family that runs the place makes sure that there is a homey feeling, and you always feel welcome here. The addition of wine and beer about a year ago is VERY welcome!

I was traveling through Logan and was surprised to find an Indian restaurant that does it right. I have traveled many times to India, thus I maybe a bit more critical of 'Indian' food than others. That said, the Tandoori Oven stays true to their ethnic origin. The lunch buffet had a half dozen main dishes, including Tandoori chicken, which was flavorful (though a bit dry). The other main offerings, salads and desserts were very good. Hey, all the good food that you can eat for under $7 -- that's a great value. Recommended

  • Trit S.

Excellent Food, some of the better Indian food I have had. Their one downfall is that there is never sufficient parking or seating at lunchtime, and that they keep their Naan supply very low. You have to wait a few minutes for Naan sometimes, and then you're lucky if you get one or two thin pieces. If they would change this, they would be the best Indian in Utah.

  • Sarah A.

Honestly, the whole Indian at a gas station thing creeped me out so we tried another place first. It was terrible! The next time we went to this humble gas station place and it was incredible. So good. Now it's my #1 choice when in Logan. The lunch buffet is quite complete, but sometimes I just prefer to order from the menu. Service is fast and friendly. Spice level is even kid friendly. They have a sweet naan that is really good and we love the tikka masala and chicken korma.

Awesome service and even better food. I go here at least 3-4 times a month. I love that I can walk in and they remember me and bring me a hot tea and hot sauce automatically. Go there...

Lived next door for a few years. Used to be called Indian Oven. Owner tried a business partnership with current owner of Indian Oven on main st. Didn't work out so he went back to his smaller restaurant. Owners are very friendly and remember frequenters. Chicken Kurma is the best!

I used to live 5 minutes from Little India in Cerritos, CA and Tandoori Oven puts any restaurant there to shame. Definitely the best Indian food and service I have ever seen at any restaurant.

LOVE Tandoori. Great service, incredible food, and a quirky location-- I love that this is part of a convenience store. This place is fantastic. Chicken coconut kurma will complete you... and their lassi is joy in your mouth. Go here and you won't regret it.

The best restaurant in Logan. It's not just good for Logan, it's just good Indian food. The service is great as well. And the atmosphere is pretty good given that it shares space with the gas station.

The best Indian I know of in the US...a whole vegetarian section with 20+ dishes as well.

  • Michael S.

Tandori is located inside a gas station. Do not let this fool you as this is truly fantastic food. I have had a variety of dishes from Lamb Saag, to Chicken Tikki Masala and have never been disappointed. It is the best restaurant in Logan, with fantastic service. Only negative is that on Fri and Sat there is usually a wait, but i suspect that is because of the quality of food. It is in the 8-12 dollar per entree price range.

    (5)
  • Ethan W.

Amazing food cooked by a friendly Indian family. It is located in the Sinclair gas station, but thanks to a recent renovation it doesn't feel that way. There isn't a bad dish on the menu, but highlights include the Tikka Massala (lamb, chicken, shrimp, or veggie), Baygan Bhartha, and Karhi Pakora. If it's your first time and you like your food spicy you should emphasize this (the average palate in Logan thinks that Wendy's spicy chicken sandwich is living on the wild side). One of the two best restaurants in Logan.

  • Nicole B.

Move over Bombay House, this little hole-in-the-wall family owned restaurant has you beat. Best Indian food I have ever eaten. It is all fantastic. I would recommend the Chicken Saag, Lamb Kurma, and fresh naan and paneer parantha. To die for!

  • Mike C.

Great Indian food! The atmosphere is a little low brow, but its the best indian food in the valley. Indian is one of my favorites and I've had it everywhere. I would put Tandoori up against most of them, not as high as Vij's in Vancouver, but the portions are much bigger here.
