Disappointed. Nice atmosphere, but that's about all I liked. We started with Bruschetta that we added cheese to for an EXTRA $2. On the menu it said it came with four pieces and we only received three with a mound of tomatoes and raw garlic clove on top. When we alerted the waitress she said they started using larger pieces of bread so that's why we got 3. I ordered the 4 cheese gnocchi, which was tasty but very rich and has left me feeling nauseous. My boyfriend ordered veal ravioli and they looked like huge folded triangles. After tasting the sauce on his we both thought it had a strange plastic taste that we couldn't endure. He has never sent back food, and has never received something that inedible. The service was sparse, the wait for food was long, and I will not be going here again.

Cute location in a renovated house. Maybe a bit loud for a "romantic evening", but certainly a unique feel and many miles above the ubiquitous chain restaurant. Agree with other reviewers that wine service is average at best, but overall how can you complain? Homemade pastas, especially the sweet potato ravioli was delish. Will definitely go back...

This restaurant is perfection located in my own little corner of the world. I have to say that I was absolutely shocked, amazed, stupefied, and ecstatic when they came to town ten (?) years ago and set up shop in the old "Patisserie" on Main. To Start, Pier's tapanade is absolutely fantastic. I don't know all the ingredients, but I have never had better. Garlic, Capers, Olives, Oil, peppers (flakes?) and more make up this wonderful concoction that they serve with Crumb Brothers Ciabatta. I love the Pasta Fagioli soup, a creamy smooth and silky blend of cannelloni beans, Al dente pasta and rosemary, seasoned to perfection and finished with a dab of olive oil and fresh rosemary. For main courses, I have tried them all. And I love them all. Some of my favorites are the Pollo con Fungi, Pollo Le Nonne, Penne alla Pera, and Beef Straticerre (sp?). Pollo con Fungi: Tenderized chicken breast, sauteed in butter, then added to a heavenly amount of mushrooms sauteed in a Marsala butter cream sauce. FANTASTIC. Not to strong, subtle, and succulent. Served with Rosemary Potatoes and Broccoli. Penne alla Pera: Penne Pasta in a light and creamy Gorgonzola cheese sauce, with fresh cubes of sauteed pears dispersed liberally throughout the dish. Another SIN on a spoon dish. Beef Stratticerre: Super thin strips of beef, sauteed and then soaked in a Gorgonzola cheese sauce, seasoned with roasted garlic and other yummy-licious secret things (I have found whole cloves of garlic hiding in my strips of beef on more than one occasion!) This is also served with roasted Rosemary Potatoes and fresh Veggies. I could go on for hours about this place, but you don't have time to read, and I don't have time to write. You really should be driving up here to eat at Le Nonne! It is well worth it. The ambiance is also great. The restaurant is in a beautiful old home that has been renovated to accommodate a restaurant and has both indoor and outdoor seating. Beautiful, romantic, fantastic, live music, wines, 5000 stars! :)

We LOVE Le Nonne. The bruschetta has the freshest tomatoes I've ever tasted, and we've loved everything we've tried there. The pasta salmon is delicious, and the service is really great. It's a beautiful and homey place, perfect for a little romantic dinner for two. And we can't rave enough about the tiramisu...

The service was bad. The pesto with the bread was great. We had bruschetta for an appetizer. It was tasty, but weird (the bread was basically soggy, and the tomatoes were enormous hunks, which doesn't work very well). Then the entrees. This is where it really fell apart. Who cooks chicken to go on top of pasta by just boiling it? Gross. That is not an appropriate way to prepare chicken for such an end use. My husband was sold on going there because they have gnocchi. His comment was that it tasted like bad macaroni and cheese. I tasted it and it was just somehow off. Also, the information says it is wheelchair accessible. I assure you it is not.

I love LeNonne. I now don't live in Logan, but when I did, my husband and I would come here for special occasions. The Penne Alla Perra is to die for. We currently live in Salt Lake City, and even living downtown we can't find an Italian restaurant that compares in quality of food.

This restaurant is classy in atmosphere and a Logan favorite. A recent visit was almost enough to make me cross it off my list, however. With reservations, we had to wait 15 mins. to be seated though it was early and tables were empty. Our waitress looked harried and wasn't knowledge. "Everything" was good to her. Our group ordered a bottle of Proseco. Though they have two kinds on the wine list, they had none. We then ordered a Pinot Grigio. It come to the table totally room temperature. It had never seen ice in its life. I asked for a chilled bottle and was told that all they had was unchilled. If the waitress knew that, why didn't she tell us before bringing the wine? It was a $30 bottle. After I complained, they agreed not to charge us for it. Service was slow and the food was rather average. After being closed without warning two weeks ago and not bothering to notify those with reservations, this restaurant is very close to being on my "do not recommend" list. They need to get their act together--and fast.

This is probably the best Italian food in Logan. The service is awesome and the food is quite good. Personally, I think some of the dishes are a bit under-flavored, but the food is definitely good traditional Italian and you can't go wrong with their specials. They also have a great wine list.

Yummy food but the service could be much better. Really a 3.5 but rounded up to a 4.

Easily the best Italian food in Logan. Fun atmosphere in a renovated house. Fresh ingredients and good service set this apart from all the other restaurants in Logan.

Le Nonne is probably really 3.5 stars, but I'll round up to 4. The dishes we tried (a pasta, a main course, and desert) were nice, but not spectacular - you'll come away pleased, but it's not life changing. The service and atmosphere were both pleasant, no complaints there. The by-the-glass red wines we tried were mediocre and served very warm. I can't recommend getting any of them.

Super find in Logan. Our girl was friendly, gave suggestions and was really attentive. Started with the caprese salad and lobster bisque. Perfection. I tried the pesto gnocchi - great flavor! And such a large portion. I could barely finish half of it. My dad had the king crab ravioli....wow!! It is AMAZING. Loved all the food. We were a little shocked at the price of the lobster bisque as a starter, it was the most expensive item we ordered by far. But overall, can't complain, everything was so delicious. Definitely a great quaint Italian place to go in Logan. Five stars.

For Logan, very good Italian. As good as a wine list gets up here. My very favorite thing was the bruchetta. Chopped cherry tomatoes, fresh basil, high quality olive oil. Amazing. Sauces are very good. The location is delightful and the service very helpful.

A restaurant in a quaint house. Lovely ambience and they had live music playing in one of the inter joining rooms. My husband liked the bread and olive tapenade that they provide each table. We tried the crab ravioli and the tagliata- both were delicious and nice sized servings. I don't usually order large beef meals but in this dish the beef is thinly sliced and has added olive oil, rosemary and sundried tomato. They have a good selection of Italian wines by the glass. I ordered one of the more expensive wines and found that it had started to turn. I often feel discouraged from buying a nicer glass of wine as restaurants/bars often take longer to go through the stock and the better wine can taste stale. I felt awkward telling the waitress and she thought the bar would have served a fresh bottle but she was happy to replace it and the new glass tasted much better. A great place for a date night.

Delicious, homemade Italian! We stopped here the night before my 100 mile bike ride to carb load. I had the butternut squash ravioli and they were amazing! The ravioli were definitely homemade and perfectly cooked. The service was great and the place is adorable. Thanks Le Nonne for helping me carb load that helped make my ride an amazing one! We'll see you again next year!

While the ambience is very nice and our service was good the food was just fair and definitely not worth the price. The caesar salad was bland and limp. My husband had the pasta with broccoli and chicken and the sauce was very thin and not very flavorful. My ravioli with crab and ricotta was so smothered in a heavy cream sauce that it was impossible to really taste the crab. The other couple we were with had fish pasta and it was better than ours. Unfortunately I could not recommend this restaurant to friends.

Favorite Italian food in Logan! The chief does an excellent job preparing authentic Italian dishes. The mahi mahi is legit! Crab ravioli is another favorite. Great place for a date. Live music on Wednesday and Friday. Be sure to get a reservation if you plan on dining on the weekend.

Best Italian food in Logan!!! Looking for a romantic dinner? You will love the old renovated house with hardwood floors, the shaded outdoor area with bulb lights and live music that echos through the french doors into the restaurant. We went for our anniersary and the food was mouth watering!!! We got prosciutto wrapped cantaloupe with cracked black pepper for the appetizer. For our main course we both got ravioli- the king crab and the sweet potato. Both were delicious, the pasta was delicate and the portion was good size. For dessert we got the Tiramisu. This is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to!!! If you are in Logan, you must eat here!!!

My love of businesses in houses is well documented. This was one of the major reasons I wanted to go to Le Nonne in the first place, and they did not let me down. The atmosphere was amazing. Great decor, beautiful old squeaky wooden floor, nice colors. Even though it is located on the main floor of a house, the tables aren't crowded. Such a fun place! The food was good, too. French bread and pesto were brought to the table as we perused the menu. Super tasty, and when we ran out of bread, they brought more. We started with calamari, and enjoyed that as well. For entrees, my friend ordered chicken fettuccine and I ordered sweet potato and cheese ravioli. We both really loved these, and I would recommend either dish. I also saw the waitress bring penne pesto scampi to another table and it looked amazing; I will probably order that next time. For dessert, we both had creme brulee. We might skip this next time. They were $7 each and weren't very high quality. Overall, though, I was very happy with my experience at Le Nonne and will certainly return. This is one of the best restaurants in Logan!

If I could give this restaurant 6 stars I would. This is my favorite Italian restaurant in Utah. Everything is delicious and I am certain I have tried everything on the menu at least once, but now when I come back I have a favorite that I cannot resist. The pear pasta is hands down the best item on the menu, although my husband would tell you the lemon chicken is. We get these two dishes every time now and share. You cannot go wrong with these two items they are perfection

My most favorite Italian restaurant in the state! I have loved everything I've eaten there. I can't remember any of the dishes names but the one I like has penne tomato sauce onions and bacon. Delicious. And the bread and dip they serve is amazing. A little on the fancy and pricier side so it's good for special occasions and romantic dates. Highly recommend.

Three and a half stars from us. Service was average, although there was a live guitarist which was nice. If you can get a seat outside, it adds greatly to the atmosphere. You might need a reservation to get that section. Food was better than average but didn't blow us away at all.

This was our first visit to this small restaurant located in a bungalow in a residential neighborhood in Logan. It's an inviting space and the rooms open to a small garden with tables. The evening we were there, a jazz guitarist performed and was very good! My husband and I shared the special of the evening which was a lightly breaded chicken breast with a mozzarella topping and a tomato sauce with capers. There were roasted potatoes and broccoli on the side. It was ample food for both of us, and perfectly seasoned. We ended the meal with profiteroles, which were filled with whipped cream and topped with a chocolate sauce. Perfect! The coffee was excellent as well. Definitely will return!

What a quaint and charming atmosphere Le Nonne provides. We attended the restaurant as part of a large wedding party. The managers and staff were incredibly accommodating and handled the big group remarkably well. Each course arrived perfectly timed and the food was flavorful and delicious. The bread with pesto was especially delicious. We had three small children with us and they tried and enjoyed each item, which doesn't often happen. The main course was a rosemary chicken breast with a penne in red sauce. The sauce had a bit of a kick to it, which was a nice surprise. Because we were managing the children, we didn't get to try the chicken when it was warm and it was still delicious. I was particularly impressed to see the restaurant not only handled our big group well, but they continued to provide service to the public on their patio. Well done and thank you, Le Nonne. We are not often in Logan, but when we return, we will come back.

This place has really good and relaxing atmosphere. We had to wait for a while before seated. It gets very packed on weekends. Great food with live music. I forgot the name of the food I ordered but it was sliced beef in some creamy white sauce. It was so good with the wine recommended by the server!

LeNonne has lost a star from me. Owners Pier and Stephanie went to Oahu to open another restaurant and the managers now in charge have let quality slip. It started with a stale menu and items that would stay "New" for years (literally) -- along with the same "specials" every time we came. Still a fan and still enjoy several of their items (bruschetta con mozzarella and crab ravioli are ALWAYS good for instance), but the bistecchina is not always fantastic, I've had dry mahi mahi, and the pennette alla pera has been served with the pears out of season and not sweet. Still one of our favorites, but they're resting on their laurels right now and need to respond to some criticism.

Great option for Italian in a cozy bungalow setting. Able to accommodate large groups in the front room. Convenient location off the main downtown area. Easily accessible.

Do you want to eat at someone's house that's been converted into a restaurant? Then you're in luck? Do you want Italian food without flying to Florence? Why you must try Le Nonne. A great Italian restaurant in a residential area, with food that you can get at an average Italian restaurant in Italy, which is saying a lot. The pasta was al dente with a flavorful sauce. The dessert wasn't too sweet. The salad was crisp and cheesy. This place would put a number of LA restaurants out of business if it was in the right location. Worth going if you're visiting the area or if you are a local. If I were a local, I would probably go to this place at least once a month.

I'm not usually a fan of Italian food, but this place was awesome. The pesto, as others have mentioned, was great. Lots of olive flavor to it. My own food (ravioli) was great, and so were the other entrees my family members ordered (I sampled them). I'd love to go back.

I have to say that this is a gem of a place, right here in Logan. There are so many superlatives that can or have been used that I will get to the point. If you love wonderful Italain and know what all those big words mean, if like to have some smooth music with dinner, if you like to have dinner on an intimate patio, or in a home turned restaurant, then this is the place for you! I give it a go when I come thru Logan and it is a winner.

My favorite restaurant in Logan, hands down! Everything I've ordered has been delicious. Service can be good or bad depending on the server. I recommend the pear gorgonzola pasta.

We stayed in Logan on our way to the Grand Tetons and sites beyond, and decided to try Le Nonne on our one night in town, based on reviews here and on TripAdvisor. Our experience was good, but not outstanding. We ordered two appetizers and a pasta course. The smoked salmon crepes were excellent, if not what we expected...a dish we would recommend. The second appetizer was the tuna ahi carpaccio (sp?) was less satisfactory. The concept was good, but the dish was overwhelmed by the oil dressing...way over-sauced. Over-sauced was also the problem with the evening special of veal ravioli. It could have been a great dish, if it hadn't been swimming in garlic butter (the garlic was great, but the butter bath was not). The ravioli were quite good, if cooked a bit beyond al dente. For dessert, we decided to try the profiteroles, one of our favorites, and the presentation was beautiful. The fresh raspberries were excellent as was the chocolate sauce. However, the "profiteroles" were miniature cream puffs, not the ice cream filled pastries that are expected. Service was excellent. Don't plan on a good by-the-glass wine list or their listed spirits to be in stock. Overall, it was a very pleasant evening and meal, but not a 5-star experience. We probably would try other options in Logan before we would go back, but would probably try it again eventually.

Le Nonne is fantastic. The food and atmosphere are remarkable. I've lived many years in Manhattan and San Francisco (the snob, foody capital of the world) and the food at Le Nonne rivals anything you'd find in the big "food centers" of the world - but, at 1/3 the price. While Le Nonne is high priced for Logan, you'd be paying upward of $50/person in SF, Chicago, LA, or NYC, for the same food and level of service and overall dining experience - believe me, I've lived in all those places for many years. In particular, you should have the ravioli - such thin, exquisite ravioli skins... delicious.

Great Italian place! Food was awesome. It's a smaller and more intimate place. The Lemon cake is the best, it goes fast.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
