It's good. BBC Fries and a tri-tip with sweet and spicy. Real good.

My go to place. I am always in the mood for something at Cubby's. I cannot pass through Utah County without stopping at Cubby's. The food is fresh, flavorful, and delicious. And the best part is that it's also inexpensive and fast! My favorite menu items are the Tri Tip Salad and the Dragonslayer. I also love the Sweet Potato Fries and the Smokey BBQ Bleu Cheese Fries. Try it out. I promise you'll be back!

It has been nearly a year since I last visited Cubby's. After 3 or 4 times of standard food and more options opening up, I gave up on them. Some friends wanted to eat here for dinner and I'm glad they did. A couple of things have changed since a year ago. Multiple people no longer ask what your order will be as they did before (that was really weird), they've put up a glass pane between the line and the food prep area that wasn't there before, and I believe they have a new (as in new to me and wasn't there a year ago) chipotle fry sauce...which sounds like heaven and tasted pretty good too. Some things are still the same, the oddly large chalk board menu that you can't read without eagle vision, the annoyingly loud noise inside, and the great outdoor seating are still there. That's okay though. I ordered a Dragonslayer and split some blue cheese fries with my girlfriend. I got a small drink and a cream cheese cookie sandwich thing to share as well. The drink selection is better than I remember...I love when restaurants offer things other than the standard Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite line up. They've got Apple Beer, Red Cream Soda, and Squirt here. Not a huge deal, but a nice touch. The food came out reasonably quick, especially for the number of people there. The food was really good. Previously I complained about the burgers being dry. This was fixed. My burger was perfectly cooked, full of juice and flavor, and overall just a really good burger. It's still not worthy of the name Dragonslayer as it really, really isn't spicy at all, but it is a pretty good burger. The blue cheese fries were the stars though. I love good fries and I especially love good sauces. The toppings on them were incredible, and they were perfectly cooked as well. Once I got to the under layer of fries I was able to dip them in the chipotle mayo and thought that was really good as well. Overall I was pretty impressed with my meal. They've certainly fixed a lot of things over the last year and I won't hesitate to come back. I'd like to see an actually spicy option, and not having one will keep me away from hear when I'm craving something spicy, but I don't have a problem coming here again with friends or for work.

Wow- very surprised at the ratings. I work across the street and have been to this Cubby's 10+ times. I've loved it every time. The most wrong I have experienced was that my bun was slightly drier than normal. I get the Houdini almost every time.. It's hard to stray from one of the best burgers I've had. Wonderful tasting beef, thick bacon, mushrooms, Gouda, arugula, and garlic aioli sauce... Yum. The Houdini doesn't get the same attention as the other meals, but it is the best in my opinion. I've had the Dragon Slayer, Pikey, and other items. None are a 10/10 like the Houdini. To top the whole experience off - I also crave the buffalo bleu cheese fries. The bleu cheese is packed with flavor but not overbearing. It matches well with the buffalo sauce. Use a fork because it gets messy good.

Great, fresh food! Never a boring item on the menu. . . Even the names of the sandwiches are far from boring. We started going to Cubbys when it was fresh and new at the Provo location.Wee are so glad they've grown and expanded to several locations making it convenient to stop in for lunch or dinner.

I had a fun lunch date with my sister, and boy did we hit the jackpot! She ordered the ever-so-famous Tri Tip Steak Sandwich with a side of Rosemary Peppered French Fries. I got the Apple Pecan Chicken Salad (exchanged the mustard vinaigrette for the raspberry one--I've never been a dijon lover) and a side of Sweet Potato Fries. Let me tell you, straight up delish, all of it. The Tri Tip Sandwich, like I said, is what Cubby's is known for. And although it was fabulous, I also wished I would have gotten the Cockadoodledoo chicken sandwich, I hear that one is even better. So, pick your poison (it's really not poisoned, it's delightful), and if you decide to get both chicken and steak, that's fine with me too. The Sweet Potato Fries were killer. The reason I liked it so much was that they actually gave me a nice handful--as opposed to other restaurants and their stingy selves. The Rosemary Fries were different, I enjoyed them with a side of sweet BBQ fry sauce, I know it sounds weird, but just trust me on that one. The man sitting next to our table was eating the Buffalo Fries, and those looked incredible too. It took all of me not to just reach across and help him finish his basket. It was crowded, LOTS of people waiting for tables. Luckily, we were able to get a table right away, as there was only two of us, but just beware. Maybe send a runner to scout out possible seating arrangements while you order their food. I did love the atmosphere, a fun and upbeat restaurant with some fun and upbeat waiters! TIPS & TRICKS: * Reservations can be made, but only if you are with a group of 5 or more. * Chipotle fry sauce and good old fashioned Regular fry sauce (where I'm from though, we call it pink sauce ;) * The BUMmer part--there are only 2 restrooms in the whole restaurant. (Did you like my pun?) It doesn't help that it's always packed and people can't seem to hold their bladder, just go somewhere else unless you really feel like waiting 10 minutes.

Sweet potato fries!!!! My favorite! I've been begging my husband to try cubbys with me for I don't know how long and when he finally does he loved it. He likes the dragon slayer and the Houdini a lot. I've had the grilled cheese and the pikey. The food is great!!

I really wanted to love Cubbys after hearing great reviews from friends and on social media. But I left feeling like, "eh". Nothing terrible, but nothing that stood out either. Came at 1:30 for lunch and it was packed - line moved slow and there was not enough tables for how busy it was. We had to hover over a table waiting for them to finish. Ordered: tri-tip steak salad (this was the best thing we ordered and the dressing was great, but the salad base and ingredients were just okay), sweet potato fries (over cooked), kids mac & cheese (disappointing- lacked flavor), kids hot dog (didn't try myself but my son seemed to like it - but is it hard to mess up a hot dog?), tri-tip steak sandwich (too much sauce), oatmeal coconut cookies (eh).

Got the Tri-Tip steak sandwhich with rosemary fries and my wife the beet salad. Both were very tasty if a tad small. The sandwhich meat was tender and mixed with the right amount of chopped onion. The spicy BBQ sauce I chose had a nice hotness with some balancing sweet. The bread was ok. Soft and fresh but nothing to write home about. My wife enjoyed her beet salad and it did feature ample beets, nuts, cheese and crisp, fresh spring mix lettuce. The portions of fries were huge. The Sweet Potato fries were accordian-style, very cruncy, and lots of that sweet potato flavor without too much residual oil. The rosemary fries were solid, well-seasoned and crisp. Too many crunchy little nubs in the bottom of the bag for my taste, but that may be a bonus for some. Finally the side of Mac n Cheese: the noodles were firm, and the cheesy taste (3 cheese blend) was more sophisticated than the runny, velveeta-style offerings at many places. Overall a pinch on the pricey side, but with free soda refills, highly tasty eats and a simple, clean evironment it is well worth it.

The tri tip salad was pretty good just needed a ton of more stuff (like more tomatoes, feta, anything rather then just there spring lettuce). It was mixed w/the vinaigrette lemon dressing but because I thought it was so bland I needed to mix it up w/ jalapeño ranch (which made it really good). For the price of $8.99 I would think the salad would come w/ a lot more vegetables. The buffalo chicken salad was a definite no go! Just tasted like buffalo sauce which I felt was overly salty (but again I don't like salt). The fries came out as good as they looked on the pictures but unfortunately did not taste as good. This place is busy busy so obviously they are doing something right. I feel like I am a food snob so my taste buds are a lot more pickier then others. The ambiance is great. The staff is friendly and I probably would come back again if a friend wanted to try this place out.

I absolutely LOVE cubbys. The lemon chicken salad is to die for. Make sure to try both types of fries with their chipotle fry sauce. So yummy. Trip tip sandwiches are also super good. Can't wait until the sugarhouse location opens.

There are so many new places to try at Thanksgiving Point! The tri-tip sandwich was really good here. My high expectations were off the chart which can lead to disappointment but how can you go wrong with tri-tip topped with bacon and just a little barbq sauce? As good as the sandwich was the Buffalo fries will be what brings me back! Just fries served with a crazy good sauce. The menu wall is just as annoying as reviews detail. At night it was difficult to see and mostly ineffective. Service was lack-luster. It wasn't extremely busy the night I visited. I ordered takeout, arrived promptly at the time given, paid and waited another :20 while people walked in, ordered and were served prior to receiving my meal. Frustrating because it would have been :10 quicker had I walked in and ordered rather than call ahead. I was offered a free cookie for the delay but it didn't make up for the wait. There are many food options so parking can be really difficult at busy times of the day. Heads up the bill for a sandwich and fries was around $15. Food quality 4.5, service 3, value 3 = 3.5 stars

First time eating at this establishment. First impression is that it's an up-scale sandwich shop, but the smells are good and lots of good choices on the menu. The ordering process threw me off and was kind of confusing. There's a place to order items that take longer like burgers or chicken ahead of where you order everything else. Simple enough you would think but I was not the only one thrown off by this; everyone behind me started ordering at the same point as well (good so I didn't feel as stupid). Ordered the Tri-tip sandwich, big dog (most places like this skimp on the meat), spicy BBQ sauce, dressed up with pepper jack and jalapeños for a $1 extra. With a medium drink it was roughly $13.50, which is definitely more person than you'd expect to pay for just a sandwich with no sides. The customer service as a bit lack luster, but I'd contribute this to a new staff. The layout of the restaurant is pretty open; however the drinks and condiment area is very tight and it's hard to find things. The actual food tasted pretty good. I loved the spice of the sauce but it was definitely not "spicy" (at least to me). Was the price worth what I got and the wait? Maybe, it was good and I would eat here again but at least not for awhile. If I'm spending that much I'd rather spend it else where unless your buying!

It's a sad day when you have to admit that one of your favorite places has lost its luster. I'm not sure what the issue has been the past several times here. I've tried to attribute the decline in quality to a fluke, but after giving it another THREE chances it still doesn't seem to be where it was when this place first opened. Just a few examples: I usually get a burger here; the last few I've ordered just didn't have that much flavor to them and they were all a little dry. The sweet potato fries the last three times have been soggy and also just average in the taste department. The time we've waited to get our food has been slowly increasing. And finally, the kids meals are just not good. Still three stars for fresh, local, organic ingredients. I'm not sure if the Provo location has these same issues, I just really hope Cubby can fix the problems at this one. Unfortunately, I'll have to take a break from eating here. I will give it another try in no fewer than 6 months; hopefully the quality is back when I do decide to give it another go.

We decided to eat here because it claimed to have fresh ingredients, which caused us to be disappointed when we got processed cheese on the grilled cheese. The hamburger was good, but very pricy for how small it was. Don't go here expecting a big gourmet burger. The prices seemed reasonable until we realized everything was a la carte and it is over $11.00 to get a small burger, small drink and fries with no extras. Everything tasted fine. Nothing was bad, just over priced and overrated for what we got. I was debating between 2 and 3 stars but went with 3 because of the pebble ice and drink options.

Great food in a casual environment. Tri tip sandwich and grilled cheese sandwich were both outstanding as were the sweet potato fries and the buffalo blue cheese fries.

Heading back. Crazy busy as before. I guess the word is out. Anxiously awaiting my Houdini. My wife was kind of mad last time at the lack of a kids menu...alas the TRex. Yay! This IS Utah. Wait, they are "out" of TRexes. Huh? Don't you just shape some more burgers? Disappointed. May be difficult to get the wife to come back (as she was underwhelmed by her beet salad last visit). Going to give the buffalo blue cheese fries a second chance.... Waiting...table next to is just got two TRex kids burgers delivered. Weird. Now the food. Dang. Was SOOOO excited for my Houdini but missed the mark tonight. Hamburger was way over cooked and dry and not sure the mushrooms actually made it on. The kids Houdinis came out as Gypsys so they are still waiting while mom and dad are done. The fries? Better. Not hot, but not undercooked tonight (for the most part). Really want to leave it with my initial five star rating, but underwhelmed tonight. Dang. Oh, and the kids are still waiting. Guess we'll have to head up to the counter. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Wrong a third time. Not even kidding. Wife ticked. Seven year old crying. Finally came out with a single one inch strip of bacon and a slice of cheese. Sigh. Five star went to three now a two. This place has potential but has some major kinks to work out. Dang.

Had the"Gipsy" BBQ burger. Not the best I've had because I don't love grilled onions (I like em fresh). There was a lack of BBQ flavor but certainly could have asked for more since it's free. Over all though I LIKED The burger and would order again. Got the BBQ Blue cheese fries as well. These alone would have got s 2-3 stars. They are small fries and have what seemed like dilutes sauces on them. Wouldn't order again but the chicken sandwich my wife had she liked. Would return just without the fries.

  • Conrad S.

Worst burger I have ever had. No flavor, it was overlooked and leaning on the flavor of whatever nasty sauce the covered it in. However, the Tri-Tip sandwich is decent. And the fries are good, but I don't see myself craving this place

I found this to be a fresh deli with a modern twist. I enjoyed the salads we ordered except the goat cheese and beet salad was served with a miserly amount of goat cheese. When I mentioned it to the wait staff I was brought more crumbled cheese and told that salad should have at least 4 oz of cheese. If an ingredient is in the title of a dish it better have ample amounts of that ingredient. My sister in laws steak salad for example had copious amounts of steak strips. The vinaigrette on both salads was great and we enjoyed everything else such as the sweet potato fries and the rosemary fries. I enjoyed this place and wish we had one back where I live in the PNW.

Delicious! They have amazing hamburgers and dulce de leche pudding. I love that I can have a gluten free burger wrapped in lettuce! (Don't order the GF bun) I really appreciate business that are helpful and accommodating with food allergies. I also love their sweet potato fries with chipotle fry sauce!

Place is super delicious. Tri tip salad is my personal favorite. For the price, there aren't better places to eat in the valley. Fresh ingredients and high quality. Great for lunch or dinner. Highly recommend!

Been here several times. The tri tip steak sandwich Is fantastic. You can tell it is quality meat. Minus a star for small seating area and sometimes impossible to find a place to sit.

  • Gus B.

Stop by today but not really a fan. Tried the heart attack sandwich just for the sake of it. The lady at the register ask me if I'd like it wet or dry...dry...but the sandwich was so moist that the bread was falling apart(not nice), little taste if any. Smell and taste like boiled steak over an overcooked sausage. Sorry.. Place seems nice tho and maybe burgers taste better

Really trying to figure out what all the fuss is about. I've been 3 times and I don't think I'll be back. Let's do the good, the average & the ugly. The good: the Chicago beef sandwich was pretty good but not jaw dropping. The average: Tri-tip salad was pretty good but it needs more to it, same with their kale grapefruit salad, let's be honest peeps The Kale craze should be put to bed, the only thing it's good for is cleaning hard surfaces. The ugly: the fries. Seriously why are people raving about soggy fries drizzled with a little sauce. You can get better fries at any fast food joint unless you like eating fries in the rain.

This place it great. I've had the Tri Tip sandwich and the Tri Tip salad. Both were delicious for a great price. If you want something to eat around the chain restaurant wasteland that is really UT county and you're in Provo or god forbid Thanksgiving Point then check out Cubby's. I've eaten at both locations and been impressed. Friendly service, delicious food, cool vibe.

Having just moved down here from SLC, we thought we would try some local favorites (this restaurant originated in Provo). The good: the veggies were fresh (crunchy lettuce rocks my socks), and I had a pecan whoopie pie that was to die for. My companion's tri tip sandwhich was good (ish). Not exactly Moochie's up in SLC quality sandwich but yummy. The bad: maybe I'm biased, but my favorite black and blue burger is from JCW SO When the guy behind the counter recommended their most popular burger, the "dragon slayer" which had bacon, blue cheese in the meat, arugula and buffalo sauce, I thought it would give that burger a run for it's money but it did not compare at all. Maybe its the fancy arugula on the burger that's off putting, or it could be how you could hardly taste the blue cheese on it. The buffalo blue cheese fries tasted like bottled buffalo sauce sprinkled on sub par, soggy fries with blue cheese on top. Of course I ate it after the long long time we waited for our food. The place was really packed with a plethora of people who didn't watch their kids. Another thing that was annoying is their menu was written on the walls, but if there was anyone tall on line you could not read it. All in all, if I could sum up my experience of this place in three words....I've had better.

Went for dinner with my wife. First of all, $8 for a burger alone. Sides and drink extra! My wife ordered her burger with no onions and the sweet bbq sauce. When they finally brought the food, we asked which one was the no onion burger. The server said "I have no idea". We looked and both had onions and the buffalo sauce. They took one burger back and brought a "new" one. It was the same burger, but they just plucked off the onion. Spicy sauce still on. I'll never be going back here again!

  • Janey L.

Like someone else said, the ordering is a bit clunky and confusing. The place was packed but we got lucky and managed to find a big enough table for our group of twelve. The food came in a timely manner with no mess-ups. Everything was absolutely just as delicious as the original Cubby's in Provo.

Great food but absolutly no parking so prepare to park far away and walk to eat at this restaurant.

    (3)
  • Sutt J.

Excellent three cheese sandwich. It is on the pricier side for the size of sandwich you get. The Rosemary fries are good but I wish they had special sauces to try them with.

  • Brian E.

This joint is awesome! The food is so good and they've really worked hard to speed up the order process. Don't listen to people who complain about the ambiance or the menu wall, etc. Cubbys puts out a quality product and I love the energy inside this place! The employees are very friendly and helpful and work their tails off! Support this joint and keep them around for years to come!

  • David H.

The good was bad and the bad was worse. I purchased the Dragon slayer burger and rosemary fries. My burger tasted like they made it 45 minutes ago and left on the shelf. The fries were clearly frozen and very limp. Simply because it was very overpriced I felt required to eat it all. With that said, I'm actually still hungry. The highlight of the meal was the Apple beer soda.

Love the one in provo, so we couldn't wait to try this one. Just as good! Yes, there are a few hiccups, they are training people and getting used to the new kitchen. Come on yelpers, they are brand new, give them a break. They have a chicken pesto sandwich that they dont have in provo that is to DIE for, I usually get the cokadoodledoo, their chicken is cooked to perfection and seasoned right. My hubby gets the tri tip which is the best ive had. We always share the buffalo blue cheese fries. So addicting. I get sweet potato fries every once in a while, which I usually hate but they do them perfectly. Their apple chicken salad is what I get when I want to be healthy, and its the best salad ive ever had. Hands down. Yes, its a little crazy with a bit of a wait, but give them a chance, they are still getting a hang of things.

  • Geoff G.

I had the Buffalo chicken salad. It was delicious and it was nice and healthy. I would like to see this place open a location in Sparks, NV. Maybe at Legends?

  • Carissa F.

I had the apple pecan salad and liked it a lot! My mom had the steak salad which was also tasty. It is a really chill place with good food and I will continue to eat there for a good salad and sand which place. Oh and their buffalo blue cheese fries were amazing and I usually don't like either of those flavors.

I love this restaurant! Well, I should say I love their tri-tip salad and sweet potato fries because that's all I ever get :). Definitely a must-try restaurant!

This place was super busy for lunch at 200 in the afternoon. On a weekday. We ordered a hamburger. Delicious. Good bun. Bacon, grilled onion. The fries were good but they are the string fries, which aren't my favorite. My apple pecan salad was delicious. Fresh spring mix greens. Would go back!!

  • Lance H.

I had the Tri tip steak sandwich and it was fantastic. But I was blown away with the fries. I tried the sweet potato fries and they were the best I've ever had. And the buffalo sauce fries and BBQ sauce fries (both with bleu cheese) were awesome as well.

  • Enoch E.

Food was good. Not very warm. No ice in any soda machines . Waited to find a seat after ordering for 15 minutes. Don't go if you are in a hurry, have a group larger than 4, or want to sit and talk after you are done eating. There is people hovering to get a seat as soon as you think about leaving.

First review! Free meal right? This place is like a backyard BBQ in its most ideal form plus every other dream you've wanted to come true. Fresh real ingredients and food that makes your mouth refuse all other food for lack of life changing opportunities. Sandwiches, burgers, salads, amazing sides like various fries, Mac and cheese etc. You could come eat something different every time and never be disappointed.

  • Austin K.

Average score for an average place. I got the dragon burger. It was good but not anything you couldn't make on your own, but that's why your going out right? So that wasn't really a big deal because I didn't want to make my own food. The place was slammed when we went in, So any gripes I had about service I will let slide. My biggest complaint (if you want to call it that) was the portion size for the price. I downed that pricey little burger in no more then 6 bites. I could maybe go back to try something new on the menu just to see. But it'll be awhile. (The salad my girlfriend got was also very small and overpriced)

    (3)
  • Shane ..

I got the Tri-tip steak sandwich and it was amazing. My wife got the tri-tip steak salad and it was also amazing. The rosemary fries are really good too. I was disappointed that they do not have the Mr. Beef or its au jus dipping sauce :(. Maybe they only have that at the Provo location.

This place is as good as it gets. Huge selection of entrees, fresh/tasty ingredients, glutton free/organic options and knowledgable/courteous staff. Come early to grab a seat, it can be quite busy most of the day. The owner answered every question we had & bonded with my husband over their love of the Cubs. A true Chicagoan at heart. We'll be back often.

  • Megan O.

Fantastic food! My only complaint is that there's no changing table in the bathroom. Makes for an unpleasant dining experience when parents have no choice but to change diapers right next to you in the restaurant. But I completely understand as they had no other option.

  • Darlene C.

I have tried a few things here.. I like the chicken sandwich the best so far. I still want to try their steak salad. I think the food is great and the atmosphere is upbeat. I don't like the 'table stalkers', the people who linger around your table and watch every move you make, just waiting for you to leave! I would not make this a spot to meet someone I wanted to talk to for a little while. The last time I did this other customers kept coming up asking when we were going to leave! That being said, it is a fun place to people watch and have a good, quick lunch!

Me like meat, especially the tri-tip sandwich. I love this place. As for the girl that couldn't read the menu because it was to tall. Grab a menu or get some glasses.

Went about a week ago. This is a new place and honestly I think they should have waited to open. It is very disorganized. The food is ok but not worth the price at all. I wont be going again.

Much to be desired... No new things here at Cubby's. Just your typical sandwich shop with cool names. They're basil shoestring fries were pretty good other than that I wasn't very impressed. Also, avoid coming here for lunch... you might find yourself standing without a table available.

Cubby's is a place you want to love. Locally sourced organic food is a model every restaurant should follow. But, a burger made with locally produced beef should not mean a burger that has no beef flavor. Before I get into the food further, let me just share two things that bothered me. 1) An employee was standing at the door explaining to people the semi-complicated ordering process. 2) After ordering our food, as I went to pay, I was asked on a screen how much I would like to tip. I worked my but off as a waiter to put myself through college. I got my tip AFTER I did the work. Is this a restaurant or a snow cone stand or a respectable business. Back to the food. I was really excited about my burger, but the first bite changed things quick. Where's the beef? It was there, but all I could taste was barbeque sauce and onions. It just wasn't good. My wife had a veggie sandwich. She is never critical, but said it was "all right." Now to the price. If you are going to charge $7 for a mediocre burger, at least include the fries. We spent just over $20 on two sandwiches and two orders of fries. At least the ice in our waters was good.

We are really fans of Cubby's in Provo! Imagine our pleasant surprise when we saw that a Cubby's was being built in Lehi, less than 1/4 mile from my husband's office. We have been to this Cubby's probably 8-10 times since they opened and we have never been disappointed. We have had the Tri-Tip Steak Salad multiple times and it has been the favorite until tonight! The Lemon Parmesan Chicken Salad is absolutely delicious!! My husband loves all the sandwiches! It is so great to see how busy they have been every time! We have no complaints! Just raves and raves!! So glad you got to this part of the county, Cubby! Your restaurant ROCKS!!!

Oh my Sweet Potato Fries! By George I think they've got it - Best in Fries! Be sure to indulge in the complimentary Chipotle Fry Sauce - it just might change your life. (Yes, it IS that good.) If you're looking for something on the light side, the salads are superb (particularly the Tri Tip). Thank you, Cubby.

I wish I could give a 3.5 rating. Cubby's has made some great changes since I was here previously. There are people to greet and offer you a menu and suggestions at the door, if you haven't been there before. There has been a redesign so it's more clear where you enter the line to order. My meal came with fries, and the girl at the register informed me of where to find the condiments around the corner, which was nice. You get a table number when you order so they can deliver your food to you. Someone came around after we had gotten our meals to check and make sure that things were to our liking. And, as things slowed down, there were people working to clean the restaurant. I was with a group that is doing the Whole 30 diet and Cubby's tri-tip salad is a delicious option for that lifestyle. I still think the ordering process is clunky where you tell them if you are getting a burger or chicken at the start, you take a laminated card indicating what you ordered, and then bring it to the cashier to tell them again what you had, along with any other items. Could the tablets to take the complete order be at the start of the line to get it entered for those items that take longer, and then have you go to the second set of people with tablets to pay? Maybe that can't be changed. Overall, I was very impressed with the changes that had been made and for an owner that is listening to his customers and being proactive in trying to better the restaurant experience. I would go back again.

You can never go wrong with Cubby's. Fast and friendly service. Delicious food. Not much else to ask for! Make sure you order the buffalo fries. You won't regret it. Their tri tip salad is out of this world. They have several locations throughout Utah county and a sugar house location is scheduled to open this fall and I cannot wait.

Went and ate at the food truck. I heard a lot of good things about cubby's so I was excited! Ordered what everyone raved about the tri tip steak salad with lemon vinaigrette dressing. I'm going to say it.... It was okay. Nothing to really rave about really and especially not worth a $10 salad. I should have taken a picture of it. It was tiny. Would I order it again? No. I would try something different if I ever go back.

I don't know how organic or local Tyson/Sysco are, but they still have good food. I had a burger tasted great and not super greasy. If there was a some what healthy burger this place would probably be close to it. Tyson meat though is far from local and I actually thought they were from Arizona not Chicago.

This is a pretty good place wasn't too expensive supposedly they feature really good ingredients organic section I had to steak salad is pretty good at the special dressing on it also had the sweet potato fries which was again pretty good besides some type of sugar in them because they're sweet overall I like it I give it four stars I recommended to anyone Quick bite to eat and wants to be healthy. From a New Yorker who has lived in Chicago: As good as Portillos without the annoying accents and weird hot dogs. "Wet" beef could be wetter but other than that it was straight outta da nort side

Oh my GOSH this place is good. Service was fast and friendly despite being very busy and crowded. Drink machines have pebble ice. We ordered a Totonka (buffalo chicken sandwich), a Tri Tip Steak Sandwich with spicy BBQ sauce, an Apple walnut chicken salad and the Buffalo Bleu Cheese fries. EVERYTHING was delicious but id drive back to Lehi for those fries alone. The only down side to this place is that there isn't one in SLC.

  • William L.

Had the tri-tip steak sandwich. Pretty good for a sandwich place... the meat was a little over done but it's a sandwich place not a steak house. I'm probably not the target market. Fine for a quick lunch but nothing stands out for the foodie. Simple inexpensive food doesn't have to be boring HRD in San Fran is a great example. But I guess it is better than a burger and fries.

So I've been to Cubby's a few times.. I find it to be an alright place.. Nothing amazing though. I have tried the French Dip and burger on different trips. Both of them were again okay, but nothing amazing in the flavor dept. Their rosemary fries are pretty tasty.. and they do have some very unique menu items like their grilled cheese on cranberry bread, but nothing that makes me crave this place. It's worth trying, but don't get mad at me if you feel the same. : )

Nothing on the menu that I haven't liked. Sandwiches are all amazing, and the italian beef is the closest I've had to Chicago beef. Evenings are busy, so come prepared for a wait.

This place is so good!! I highly recommend their beet salad with added steak! Their sweet potato fries are killer. Their buffalo blue cheese fries are to die for. They also have the good little ice balls, and some yummy chipotle fry sauce! Two thumbs way up!

Second visit to Cubby's. The first time I went, I thought it was OK - but didn't love my sandwich and thought it was a little over priced for what you actually get. Went for a second time this evening and got a tri-tip steak sandwich and rosemary fries. Half the steak was fatty cartilage that was inedible. Fries were ICE cold. Long wait and minimal seating. Highly overrated. 2 stars instead of 1 because of friendly staff.

  • Clint M.

It's a great tasting sandwich but it's expensive for how small it is, and I'm talking about the bigger one even. I'll be trying the place again next time I'm in town. Pretty large menu

Not quite a fan yet after my first visit. But I'm willing to give them a chance. I ordered their Mr Beef in wet variand. The bread is tasty and the sauce tasted really nice and just right for me in terms of spiciness. However, I can't seem to get through with the beef. It tasted like it's not part of the dish. Maybe a cheese would have made a difference but that would make it more of a Philly sandwhich and not Chicago's own. I'll probably come back to try their salads. Maybe it's just me since, there were a lot of patrons standing and eating. Must have been the norm for a Friday office lunch out.

The bbq fries were awesome! The sandwich could've had a tad more meat for the price. Overall good flavor.

    (3)
  • Jared K.

The wild rice and kale salad tasted strange to me, not a good mix of flavors. They were generous with the rosemary and pepper fries but chincy on the pie. The coconut peanut butter pie is really good.

One of my go-to restaurants! Excellent beef: my favorite is the tri-tip sandwich, cali style. They have an awesome salad selection, too. Check it out, for sure.

Cubby's used to be the best kept secret in Provo. We're glad to share with our friends in Lehi and Spanish Fork. Must have the Tri Tip Salad!

I enjoy coming here. The food is good. The parking situation sucks. I've tried all of the burgers and they are pretty good. I have also tried all of the fry combinations and they are all really good, but the Rosemary is my favorite.

  • Jamie B.

Kind of underwhelming considering the raving reviews. My husband & I had dinner here after a night of unpacking our new apartment close by. The food is okay, not fabulous or anything. We're not dying to go back. The environment is quite loud as well, so be prepared for that.

Always delicious. For some reason the food seems better quality here than the other Cubby's in Utah County and they have better choices. Salads and sandwiches are great.

  • Miriam P.

I liked my steak salad but I didn't appreciate how high the menu went up on the wall. I could hardly read the menu items. It was so high up I couldn't see that one of the ingredients in my salad was cilantro. As one not born with the cilantro "gene", I taste even a tiny speck of it and my meal is ruined. Be warned: there is A LOT of cilantro in this salad. But once I picked it all out it was delicious. I especially liked the creamy but light and lemony dressing. My husband raved about the Gypsy burger and the rosemary fries were cooked just right, skinny and crispy. I will have to diss the soda fountain machine. My Diet Dr. Pepper just didn't taste right. Sometimes restaurants don't take care of their soda machines and this was one of them. The mix wasn't right. That's always a bummer. Overall, the food was good and in the end, I would go back.

Went here on a Monday around 2 pm and it was super busy. I got the Mr. Beef (6 inches) and the Buffalo Blue Cheese fries. My wife got the Cockadoodledoo and Sweet Potato fries. My kids got a chicken finger meal (grilled) with fries. My sandwich had great flavors and was super juicy. If you get it dipped (like I did), just make sure to eat the sandwich quick, or it will be really soggy. The buffalo blue fries had great flavor and were really creamy from the blue cheese dressing, which was great--although I would have loved to see some blue cheese crumbles on there. My wife said the chicken on her sandwich was a bit dry, and the sweet potato fries had good flavor, but most of them were overcooked. The kids chicken was dry and the fries were fine. We definitely wouldn't get their chicken again, but the beef was great. Next time, I think I'll try the tri-tip steak, since I've heard it is spot on. Overall, it was a good experience, and I'll be back, but I would like to see them up their game with the chicken and sweet potato fries. Update: Went back after being asked to try the chicken and sweet potato fries again. This time the chicken and sweet potato fries were excellent. Glad we gave it another try. Also, this time I got the tri-tip sandwich. I loved the tender tri-tip with some chunks of bacon which was a nice surprise. I highly recommend you give Cubby's a try!

If you're in town on business you need to try this place. Clean/organic food that tastes good and doesn't leave you feeling "over-full". The Tri-Tip salad is my personal favorite.

Finally found an Ital Beef Sandwich here that compares to Portillos from Chicago. LOVE IT. Been here 5x and every time there's no disappointment. Stopped in the Spanish Fork location last week when heading out of town and the sandwich was half the size as this location. Looking forward to more locations opening.

I eat burgers at every restaurant I go to and These burgers are some of the best in Utah. The dragon slayer in particular is full of rich flavor. If you come for lunch, come before noon. There isn't a place to sit...

Yum yum and double yum!! Such good food! I got the tri tip steak salad and squash ginger carrot soup. Both had amazing flavor. I was so full but didn't want to stop eating! My 5 yr old got the Mac n cheese and loved it, which says a lot bc he can be picky when it comes to Mac n cheese. I almost inhaled the oatmeal white ch chip coconut whoopie cookie w cream cheese filling. Need I say more?! Soft, chewy, rich! So glad they're opening a Cubby's in Sugar House this August!

Compared to the nook in Provo that is Cubby's, this place is huge. They built this restaurant to handle some serious traffic and it's a good thing they did. It was a madhouse at dinner time when I came. Cubby's menu is good and there are a few items available here that aren't on the menu in the Provo location. The staff handles the rushes well. A few things on my order didn't come out but they were replaced promptly. If you show up during lunch or dinner just expect to wait for a bit. It's always hard to top the original location so the Provo Cubby's is still my favorite but for this new booming area, it's your best eats among many good options.

  • Michelle S.

I'm giving this place 4 stars because of all the places in this area, this is absolutely where I would chose to go over all the rest. It's really yummy. My husband doesn't prefer their tritip sandwiches to other places he has had them so he doesn't love this place like I do. I like the gypsy burger, all the fry options and my favorite is the 3 cheese grilled cheese. It has a lot more than just cheese on it and it's amazing. You pay a bit more but unlike other yelpers I actually can taste the difference in their meats and I feel better about eating one of their local organic burgers than some chain burger somewhere else.

This place is one of my favorites. All the sandwiches are mind blowing and then add the buffalo fries and I am in food heaven.

I went there last weekend with my wife. She ordered a hamburger, and I got the tri-tip sandwich. We thought our sandwiches were good, nothing to write home about, but pretty good. They were a bit much on the price. I would think that Moochies would be better for a steak sandwich and Five Guys make a better burger for less money. The real issue with our meal was the fries and the service. The fries didn't seem to be fresh cut, but frozen. That or they were left under the lamp for way too long as they were mushy and tasted exactly like so many other places that just buy frozen pre-cut fries and fry them. The worst part of our experience was that when our server delivered the fries, they were the buffalo sauce and we had ordered the ones with the BBQ sauce on them. We pointed this out to the server and he said he'd take care of it. When he returned, it was obvious to us that he had simply taken the fries back and squirted them with the BBQ sauce. So instead of the fries we had ordered, we got this soggy mess of buffalo wing and BBQ fries. I simply can't believe that the server thought we wouldn't notice.

It saddens me because it was once sooooo good. I think the popularity has made them loose sight. I've been here over 10 or 20 times, but the last two times just haven't been as good. Tonight 6-19-2015 at 7pm: cold sweet potato fries, and a 7 dollar burger that didn't come close to filling the bun. I was hungry going in but was so disappointed in the meal I stopped 1/2 way through to type this up. One more shot cubbys and your dead to me if your not back to your old ways. The owner reached out instantly after my 1 star review (good on him). The reason I rated the meal so harsh was two times in a row, the meal wasn't good. Look I've enjoyed cubbys many times but if people don't tell you when the ship is sinking, it just sinks. My point is this wasn't just a one time off night.....

I frequent this place since it's close to work. Tri tip salad is pretty good, but on to go orders it'd be nice if you went ahead and threw in a fork with the napkins.

  • Nate B.

Food is just horrible. How do people give this place any kind of rating or rave about the menu here? The first bratwurst (Schindler) my wife was served was cold in the middle. Health hazard and gross. The 2nd one tasted like the Brat had turned. Couldn't eat it. Fries aren't crispy. Just soggy and sort of warm. Buffalo blue cheese sauce is bad. My tri trip salad was ok. Nothing to rave about. Decent cheerful service but not super fast. I'll pass on Chubby's. Much better options.

  • Barb B.

It felt like a regular sandwich shop to me. My husband and I both got the tri tip steak sandwich. It was good, but mine needed a little more sauce on it. I got the sweet potato fries and my husband got the Rosemary fries. I preferred the sweet potato fries. The fountain drinks are located in an area that gets gridlocked. Too many people filling up their drinks and not enough space.

    (3)
  • Brad S.

Yeah, I don't think I'll be back. From the mess/setup of ordering (if they can't get ordering down in a nice easy way, it just puts a bad taste in your mouth from the beginning). The area to get drinks is a mess (who designed this store?) to limited seating options for larger groups. The place, this brand new restaurant seems like it was just thrown together. As for the food. No complaints but no praises either.

    (2)
  • Mystique S.

Nothing to write home about. A bit over priced for what I got, and the staff seemed a bit rude. Maybe they had a long day so I'll give them a break, I worked in the restaurant industry for years so I get it. Our food was good, and I liked the look of the place. I think it would be better if they included fries with our meal instead of ordering separately. Also the sign said they had shakes, and they don't. A good chocolate shake would have defiantly improved things.

    (2)
  • Brent S.

Overpriced. Same quality at Carl's Jr. Sure they have interesting toppings but at the end of the day I don't want to pay $11 for a burger combo. The tri-tip was recommended and I tried it on another visit, but again not very big and nothing special. Just overpriced. If they gave bigger portions it would help.

  • Aubrie W.

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite lunch places. The sandwiches are really good; I especially like the Pikey. The staff are friendly and reasonably fast. The layout is a bit claustrophobic, especially when it's busy, but I typically get my food to go so that's not a big deal to me.

    (4)
  • Jeff G.

Organically there is some appeal. I like the steak sandwich but thought it would be a little better. It was very messy. I am going to come back again and try their chicken. Again I like it cause it's organic.

The name Cubby's Chicago Beef doesn't reveal what this place is.. I'm not sure what chicago beef even means. Anyways I had a chix sandwich. The ordering must have been designed by a 10 year old, you have to talk to like 5 people to order and pay. Don't chince on the ordering process. Come on guys. Really? This is basic stuff here. The signage is retarded. I would say most people can't read the menu because it's like 20 ft high with small writing. Seems like most reviewers agree with me. If you don't have 20/20 vision you'll be asking a lot of questions because you definitely aren't gonna be able to read the menu sign. Drink station made for 1 person. I would Redo the entire process as it makes little sense. The sandwich was very good, very tasty, served on a hoagie roll. Tables outside are a nice touch. Went there at 2pm and every mother and their 10 kids were there screaming and carrying on, very noisy. It's a to go kind of place. Atmosphere is lacking big time. You couldn't cram one more store in this little strip mall type place. Parking lot full. Location, parking and leaving is a bit of a hassle, I don't think they thought of making left hand turns when they built this place. The common theme here is the foods good and pretty much everything else meh. Make the ordering process thoughtless. I'm not trying to solve a puzzle, I'm just here for a sandwich. The Sandwiches are very good.

For those who are fans of the Provo Cubby's: going to the Lehi location is well worth your time. Though it's more spacious and everyone-friendly, the place still keeps an industrial, wooden, chalkboard feel to it, enough to let you know it's still Cubby's. I tried the Tatonka sandwich, something that only this Lehi place offers, and absolutely loved it. The sauce is amazing. The Gypsy is also a good, savory burger. They are also expanding the menu here. A kid menu is now up, and they announced a breakfast menu to come soon! From whatever people said about the staff being sloppy, they must have improved their act since then, because I got great service. I was greeted very friendly at the door, and they explained to me the new ordering process very well.

Much, much, much better! I am glad businesses like this one listen to constructive feedback and actually does something with it. These guys listened and have improved since my last visit. They fixed the issue with being able to see the main menu and they organized the ordering line a bit more. Things made more sense and seemed to flow a lot better. This time I tried their Houdini burger and it was FANTASTIC! The burger was juicy and full of flavor with toppings like portabella mushrooms, bacon and a garlic aioli sauce. If you haven't tried it yet, you are totally missing out. I went during the the lunch rush again and it was even more busy then last time and it only took about 10 minutes to get my to-go order which is still not bad. Based off of the extended menu they still look like they are going to add more options like breakfast, and I can't wait since we need a good breakfast place out in this area. After my latest experience there is no question on whether I will revisit. There are plenty of other items on the menu to try out, maybe next time the Dragonslayer?

I've been a huge fan of Cubby's since the Provo location opened. Since I work at Thanksgiving Park, I was looking forward to this one opening. Despite all the places opening in the area lately, there is nothing that interests me. It's all chains putting out bad to mediocre food. This Cubby's has the potential to overcome the shortcomings of the provo location. The ordering window is set up nice, even though they ordering process is odd. The kitchen is big enough to put out enough food. That said, it suffers from the same slow service as Provo. If you show up early, you'll get a lunch and be out the door in a reasonable time. If not, you're in trouble. Like Provo, the food is excellent. They still need a way to get fries for a reasonable price, or perhaps a combo of some sort. They could use some better training as well. My order taker thought BBQ sauce was a default requirement for the Italian Beef and when I said no BBQ, but hot giardiniera, I ended up with nothing on the sandwich. I assume that won't last long. I've yet to try anything but the Italian Beef and Tri-tip, but I expect the other items are good too.

  • Ben R.

This place is ok. Ordering process is clunky and unusual and does not seem to be any benefit to the customer. Cubby's it is time to grow up and purchase some real card processing equipment, you are not some booth at a Farmer's Market. Burgers were good, I would give them a B+. Beef sandwiches and salads were meh and get a B-.

Truly saddened by the ability of the staff. Order was wrong, twice--in the same trip. Charges were wrong, but record or receipt couldn't be found. Frustrating enough we left. The food might be good, but I don't want to work this hard to get what I ordered.

Finally got to try Cubby's after anxiously awaiting their opening in Lehi for months. I kept meaning to try the one in Provo but never got the time to make the trip out there. They weren't very busy given that it was their opening day... I hope that isn't a bad omen for them. Overall impressions: the tri-tip steak sandwich I had was pretty good. I got it "bacon bleu" style. Also had the rosemary peppered fries, and some of Cubby's awesome fry sauce. While I've had better tri-tip sandwiches before, this one was still pretty solid. I might've considered giving these guys 5 stars but the service at the counter was awful. The girl ringing people up was SO SLOW. It took her forever to do everything. There was hardly anyone in front of me and it still took forever before it was my turn to place my order at the register. If it had been super busy I could have been more forgiving, but it was pretty dead in there and it still took way longer than it should have. I'll probably be back; I just hope the counter service is better next time.

  • R M.

If you like rude service and mediocre food this is the place for you. The sandwich bread is very dry, burgers have no flavor and you can find better salads ordering from a drive through window. How you order the food is unpleasant and the service your get is not quality. Basically this place is a glorified cafeteria with worse food. Don't waste your money here just go to the Del Taco across the street. The will have better food guaranteed.

  • Tara M.

I go to Cubbys more times than I should admit. I love that the food is all fresh, delicious, and good flavor combos. My meal of choice is the tri-tip steak salad, which had mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, feta, dried cherries, nuts, steak. I could eat it everyday. I cannot leave without ordering the rosemary fries that I dip in chipotle fry sauce. Yum! I need to go right now! I've eaten the tritip sandwich and the dipped Chicago pit beef. Both delicious. My top place to eat for a quick, delicious meal.

Visiting Utah to see my daughter. We had the tri tip sandwich. It was very good. I liked that along with the fresh bread, the bbq sauce was good but it also had small pieces of bacon on it. Also had the macaroni and cheese. It was very good with a mellow cheese flavor to it.

  • Lindsay K.

We really enjoyed our meal here. The lemon chicken salad was very refreshing and light. My husband had the Dragon slayer burger and loved it. You could tell the ingredients were fresh and high quality. A bit pricey, and I hate feeling pressured to give a tip at a fast food joint (it's so awkward to have the cashier staring you down as you fill out the tip line... or not fill it out). The layout of the place felt a bit cramped, it was hard to get drinks, but I would probably come back, it just won't become a place I eat at regularly
