Our family of 5 stopped here on the way home from a road trip after seeing reviews on Yelp. The employees here were not too friendly, but the service wasn't too terrible. Other than that, the food was cooked to order and quite delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed every last bite and would rate it as a strong eight out of ten!

Ridiculously delicious burgers-as it recall it had pastrami in it (deluxe something or rather)!! You can't eat anything without fry sauce. I think it's a staple in Utah. Nothing like this on the East Coast.. I wish there was something like that here because I don't want to go back to Utah just for the burger haha.

Thoroughly impressed! Wow! The Crown Burgers sells more than burgers as fast food and everything tastes fresh and delicious! For $32 my husband and I got a large chicken souvlaki and a large steak and cheese sandwich with fries not including drinks. Well worth the drive thru!

The Crown Burger might be the Mecca of hamburgers. Their fry sauce is pretty epic as well. One star down because the place needs to be updated. It's not dirty by any means, it's just totally grandma decorated.

I hate to do this to Crown Burgers, but I can only give them 3 stars. Their food is very good, especially their burgers and gyros, and the pastrami is delicious! However, I feel it's insane just how many employees they have working here at one time! I came here last week around 4 pm and I counted 16 people behind the counter! I'd say overstaffed is better than understaffed, but more than half of these people really weren't doing anything other than standing there and looking at you weird. Also, as good as their food is, it's not exactly cheap. I will return, and I still like Crown Burgers a lot, but sometimes going here can be just awkward and overpriced.

Definitely one of the best burgers I've had in Utah, and their Fry Sauce is amazing. Gotta love it.

The family stopped here lunch today. Plenty of help behind the counter made the short line go quickly. We had the Crown burger, the gyro and the chicken souvlaki with rice. The food was ready quickly.the burger was good, flavorful with the pastrami on it. The gyro was very good, the meat was tender as was the pita. It just needed some crunch, lettuce etc. the chicken gyro with rice was decent, just slightly dry. The lemon rice was enjoyable if you like rice. A decent meal for families if you are in the area. I would go back strictly for the burger alone.

**Layton better than other locations** I have been a bit disappointed with Crown Burgers lately, specifically the downtown and Sugarhouse locations. They have been very hit or miss in regards to service, portion size, taste, quality, etc. Nothing worse than a soggy bun, cold fries, or mostly melted shakes right out of the window. Then last night we took a gamble and tried this location. Everything was perfect. Back to being the way Crown Burger used to be, what they are known for around here! The food was hot and the burgers were actually of the larger sized variety. Despite a longer than average line for 9:00 pm, which now I understand, the service was great. Was through very quickly. Staff was friendly and helpful. The shake was actually solid and didn't melt by the time we got home. The bucket of onion rings (large size) exceeded my expectations. The thing is a mountain! Whatever they are doing at the Layton store, I hope they keep it up. Everything was just right. Highly recommend. If you have never been, the crown burger or bacon cheeseburger are very good. Thanks Layton Crown Burgers!

One of my fav places to eat in UT. I like the bacon cheeseburger and onion rings. I noticed they offer gluten free hamburgers which is great since my wife has celiac.

  • Jim W.

I had great expectations based on others write ups. Obviously the others need to get out and try some real Gyros! The gyros was nothing more than the same fry in a skillet stuff you get from a grocery store. While that will work at home , definitely not what I expect when I go out. The service, other than the girl at the cash register(one bad apple...) was good, and that is what gave them the 3rd star. Also not sure what the fry sauce fascination is. Its 1000 island dressing (but I guess it worked for the Big Mac). Been there, tried it, buFt don't see a return visit. For those that like the gyros, next time you are in the St Louis area, try Lilly's. You'll never go back to Crown for one again.

Authentic gyros with good sauce. The cheeseburger is good too. Fast service and plenty of seating.

Yeah...such a classic :) Chicken gyro and the fries are my favorite :)

  • Keri C.

Heard so many good things about this place and it did not live up to the expectation. The burger I got was not fresh and was rather dry and cold. The fries were just the same. The burger was not juicy and had no taste. I would not go back here. There are several other burger joints around here with superior food.

My family and I LOVE eating here. My wife typically orders the chicken souvlaki which comes roasted on a stick served with delicious lemon rice and fresh flatbread. I typically order the famous 'crown burger' (pastrami burger) and I don't think I've ever eaten a better burger. The special sauce they use is amazing, as well as their dry sauce. They're a touch on the pricey side, but worth every penny!

  • Matthew C.

Absolutely awesome burgers. Our new favorite burger joint in the area. The charbroiled patties have that flavor that Burger King used to have back in the day without all the grease. The only recommendation I have or them, and its not a negative, just a comment: we ordered 4 burgers and three fries, and they gave us 11 containers of fry sauce. Good lord, 11. Half the box was fry sauce. There are children crying somewhere tonight because they don't have fry sauce because we have it all. They'll have to open a new landfill for all the containers and the inversion will be worse because of all the garbage trucks that will be needed to haul them all off. But the burgers were awesome.

    (5)
  • Michelle M.

Not impressed at all cheeseburgers were actually nasty, onion rings were bland, gyro was bland. Will not go back not sure why this has 4 1/2 stars.

    (1)
  • Joe B.

The food was decent and the service was fast. It was a little pricey for a burger & fries. It is still worth a look if you are up for a burger. The menu does have a wide variety of food. If nothing else it's worth a look.

Long time favorite! Caramel shake or root beer freeze! Hamburger or grilled cheese sandwich... it's ALL good!

  • Ami Nd David H.

Yum I love crown burgers!! I l am never disappointed with the burgers! They are great quality and the fries are also good! Don't forget the fry sauce! My favorite burger joint in Utah ;)

  • Gregory R.

Great food with generous portions. I've never been disappointed! The crown burger is a masterpiece, and to be honest, I'm afraid to try anything else becuase I fear it won't be up to snuff. Their sweet potato fries are also fantastic.

    (5)
  • Robb L.

As seen on man vs. Food the pastrami is great the fries are fries but their gyro is the hidden gem. Great flavor good portions lines can get long this is for sure not fast food. And be prepared for $10+ for lunch

  • Kris O.

I needed to pick up lunch for 10 guys & one of them suggested eating at Crown Burgers because they saw Adam Richman eat here on Man Vs Food. If it's good enough for Man Vs Food, then it's good enough for 10 hungry guys. I'm glad I decided to call in the order in advance & I was surprised to learn the Crown Burger employees carefully packed my order into several boxes for the burgers & fries + they had drink trays ready for me. The meat from the burgers was juicy & their french fries were crispy. It was like heaven for my mouth, I'm also happy that the quality of the food surpassed the price. I can't wait to return & get my Crown Burger fix.

  • Patrick E.

One of my top burger spots ever! Great variety of menu items and they carry orange bang, my favorite drink at Crown Burgers. I actually prefer the Layton location to the other locations in the valley. Will always be my go to burger restaurant!

  • Steven G.

Crown Burgers ranks in my top 5 burger places in the world, and is probably number 2 in Utah. The "crown burger" is a delicious burger with a pile of pastrami on top, but is for a pretty big eater. I usually get the jr. crown burger, but don't let the name fool you - it is big enough fill you up, and won't make you hate yourself after. If burgers aren't your thing, their Greek offering is very tasty as well... I haven't had anything that I didn't like at Crown. One thing to note: it gets very busy at lunch, so get there a bit early.

  • Victor V.

Dear gosh. THE BACON CHEESEBURGER! Okay so I got off of work and since I used to work retail down the street I was hungry and decided to give this place a shot; and I was not let down. Seating is wonderful. Service is okay but here's the star.... THE BACON CHEESEBURGER! I know, but lemme tell ya, I have NEVER had a bacon cheeseburger this delicious. The bacon was chewy, salty, meaty, JUICY like how do you even imagine that?? IT'S THAT AMAZING! The meat patty was good, perfectly grilled, amazing cheese, toasted bun, but that bacon. That bacon was single-handedly the most amazing bacon. EVER! Order that BACON CHEESEBURGER!

Had a dinner there with my husband'a grandfather there recently. It was yummy and a great variety. Papa got the pastrami burger and my husband and I got gyro plates. Their onion rings are really good! Would go there again.

Great food. Great service. Not a whole lot more to say. A bit pricey, but good overall.

  • Pablo M.

Great burgers!!! The shakes are think and go great with the crown burger. Friendly staff. This place is always packed on weekend. The wait is worth it.

    (4)
  • Nikki L.

Enjoy a cold hamburger? This is your place! Appreciate a staff who mutters and looks as if they'd rather be home with the stomach flu? Hurry on over! Seriously, this place serves over priced, mediocre food. I suck it up and eat here every few months because my daughter likes their chicken tenders. I think I'll be sticking to fries and fry sauce next time, if there is a next time. Those two stars up there are for the only two things in the place that are worth eating.

    (2)
  • Cindy I.

The food is fantastic! Char-broiled hamburgers, and possibly the best onion rings that I have had. They are not the thick, mushy kind. The atmosphere is OK- a little dated, but clean and large enough to fit large groups.

  • Walt F.

Great Burgers, Fast service, awesome Fries. Fast predictable service.. The Best in the Area . Small chain got to love it.

Greatest pastrami burger ever! Generous portion of fresh fries and a coke made it the classic American meal

  • Josta Y.

I love crown burger, I always get the gyro plate when I go here their white sauce is fantastic and it comes with a salad and a portion of frys, I can never come to crown burger without getting their frys and fry sauce!! It really is a coveted thing! I'm arizona people don't even know what fry sauce is it's criminal so I have to enjoy it when I come there and crown burger has some seriously great fry sauce.

  • Jerry S.

Old School!. This place thumbs it's nose at trendy burger joints with it's never changing 80's feel. Nothing over-the-top, just straight up simple and good.

    (4)
  • Jason D.

Yummmm! That's it just yumm! I love the fries. Like seriously perfect! Every time!!'y parents come in from out of town and have to eat here every time.

After a disappointing trip to In-n-Out the day before, this was a great place that delivered a great burger. I asked some local folks where the best local burger joint was and they took me to Crown Burger. Its a kind of divey fast food place and I say that as a compliment. Plus, its a local establishment, so that gets an extra star in my book. The place is super busy, but they turn customers fast, so your wait is not bad. I had a burger with pastrami and it was as good as it sounds. I was in burger heaven. This is not a gourmet burger but fast food. This was my first exposure to fry sauce and I was hooked. Can't vouch for how it stacks up against other fry sauce, but the concept was great. Can you actually buy that stuff? I am definitely going to come back to this place again. Also going to try the Burger Bar up the road.

Crown burger is an interesting place, feels like an upscale fast food joint but it has a more diverse menu. I use to really enjoy going to Crown for their Burrito or Crown burger. I stopped eating the burrito because it was different every time I got it. sometimes it had thin sliced low fat beef with a good chili sauce, the next time it was fatty and nasty and the chili never seems to be the same twice. The Crown burger is good, but I have outgrown it. I am always surprised when Crown Burgers is ranked the best burger in Utah when various papers do surveys, again it is good but not that good. Not sure who has the best burger, but I could name a few that are much better than Crown.

    (3)
  • Mary Ann F.

Most people think of burgers at crown burger. My favorite is the Greek food I think if you want a gyro plate they are as good as the other Greek restaurants in the area at a better price. Also the lettuce is always fresh on the salad and the fries or rice are always hot

    (4)
  • Leneen S.

Food was good. Service was decent. Would come back for another crown burger. Friend had chicken gyro which was good also.

  • Allen G.

I've been going to this place for several years. Great stuff. I have no doubt that I will be back there again soon. Get the Crown Burger combo! You will be impressed. The restaurant itself is a little dated in terms of interior design. It's worth it because there are so many restaurants out there that abandon the charm of yesteryear in favor of modern, lifeless touches.

Long live the King. Crown Burgers is one of the best burger places I've need to. Yes I came here because of Man vs. Food, but Mr. Richman does not lie. Unfortunately on this work trip I was unable to get away to the SLC location where it was filmed at, I'm told this one will do just fine. These burgers are large, almost enormous, they aren't as greasy as I'd expected, but probably because at home I've done everything from 60/40 to 98/2. If you've ever been to Crazee Burger in San Diego they offer pastrami as a side which I've been putting on the Tatanka for years, long before Adam went here on MvF so it's very cool to see the same idea be realized by completely separate people. I went with the Crown Burger and fries with a ton of fry sauce and it was amazing, the spices work so well with the paprika of the pastrami and the sweetness of the relish compliments the tang of the ketchup. I split that and a gyro with a co-worker to really get a feeling for the Greek based menu. The gryo meat was lean and I could almost taste fennel/anise, which you don't normally get that really popped when combined with the tzatziki sauce and even the fry sauce. I've been to almost every major burger spot in CA and quite a few in the Tri-state area and Texas and this is one of the best.

My husband always gets the crown burger, I'm more a fan of the souvlaki or gyro- any way you go, you cant go wrong. Crown burgers is delicious, fast, fresh drive thru or dine in food. The decor is awesomely bad, somehow it ads to the fun of eating there.

As far as burgers goes, California is famous for 2 things: Fat Burger and In 'n Out. Awwee yeah!!! 5 stars for both. Meanwhile in Utah... There is Crownburger. The most high class and delicious filling stellar stacked burgers in the state. Pastrami, tuna, sweet potato fries, chicken.. they've got it all. Go there hungry. Stay for the apnosphere, leave 110% over the top happy!

  • Danesh I.

What's not to like about Crown Burger? One of the best burgers I've had in America on either coast and all points in between. The pastrami on each Crown Burger is divine; it's closer to steak than it is to a cold cut. Hands down, Crown Burger is one of the best places to go to feed your burger craving. I liked that the burger wasn't overly greasy and didn't fall apart after the first bite. As if the burgers weren't good enough on their own, dousing them in the house made fry sauce makes the meal all that much better. The fries and onion rings are excellent here, and you can wash it all down with a tasty orange bang. The restaurant is clean and the service is great! Across the board, Crown Burger gets a solid A+!

  • Cobra K.

You have to come here and order a Crown Burger...comes with a 1/4 lb patty topped with pastrami and cheese. Crazy good.

    (4)
  • Clayton A.

Great Pastrami Burgers, but don't overlook the Greek Favorites. Best fry sauce in the state.

    (5)
  • Chet D.

Great burgers. But took them about 20 minutes to prepare the burgers for takeout. No so fast fast-food.

    (4)
  • Tony T.

Best pastrami burger, and delicious fry sauce!! I moved out of state for a few years and this is a place I missed the most.

    (5)
  • L. P.

When you are craving a big juicy delicious burger, go here!! The fry sauce is awesome! The burgers are soooo good! They also have chicken strips.... Which are extra delicious when you dip in fry sauce. This is a very popular place.... So you know it's good!

  • Daniel F.

I love Crown Burger's char grilled flavor. The Layton location is pretty much just as good as the mother ship in Salt Lake. I highly recommend this place and am glad there is one that is good and closer to where I live! I haven't sampled the entire menu yet but so far nothing disappoints. Great place to come just for a shake, too.

I love Crown Burger. I think this place is oftenblooked over. Do yourself a favor and stop in and give this place a try.

    (5)
  • Jeremy W.

Crown Burger is the best burger place around. I have tried nearly everything on the menu and haven't been disappointed yet. Love the fries, perfect size and cooked too perfection. Gyro is awesome. My absolute favorite is the greek dressing on their salads. My wife always orders the veggie burger and loves it.

    (5)
  • Larry C.

Food was good. Abit pricey, and little to no customer service. Teenagers more concerned about taking among themselves rather than helping customers.

    (3)
  • Steve S.

Just the best - always top notch and I like the fact that they're local - awesome onion rings! In-and-out and 5 Guys are good, but I prefer here

    (5)
  • Lyoni P.

Philly cheesesteak is good but like many say heart attack in a bun. Their not lying. Kinda expensive too for a sandwich. Looking close to ten bucks for one. It's okay if you like greasy fun food like this.

  • Jason D.

Crown Burger is a good hamburger restaurant. This location is a little hard to get to, especially if you are coming from Antelope, but that's not a big deal. Inside the restaurant there is a lot of seating and so you can usually find a good place to sit even during the busiest of times. Also, there are a lot of staff behind the counter working on getting you your order quickly and efficiently. They have a huge selection of burgers you can choose from and they are all cooked well and are quite good. Eveytime I've gone there the burgers have been cooked just right, but one thing I love about Crown Burger is that they have other things besides burgers to eat. I personally love their Gyro. If you want a good hamburger look no further than Crown Burger!

    (4)
  • Wade S.

Oh pastrami pastrami. who would have thought that pastrami would be good on a burger? Well Mr. Katsanevas thank you! thank you! for figuring it out. Definitely my favorite burger in Utah. Oh and get the frysauce it has spices and relish...another great combination!

    (5)
  • Kristal V.

Great Greek food and hamburgers and fries and we are in UT so of course I cannot forget the fry sauce!

    (4)
  • Tj V.

I always get the Crown Burger and alternate my side between fries and delicious onion rings. This joint is fast food on a basic level, but the menu is huge. The food is made to order right behind the registers, and it has onions. Everything, it seems, has onions in it, so beware onion dodgers. Despite the crowds, you won't wait long for your food. About a third of the menu is actually really decent Greek food, but I go for the pastrami and a meal finishing milk shake. Love this place even though only Coke products are offered.

    (5)
  • Reina B.

My buddy cruised through here and he ordered an original crown burger and I ordered some sweet potato fries. That burger looked like a heart attack. I think it had pastrami in it and no veggies! I'm not into the no veg burger, but maybe if I had tasted it I would have changed my mind. I don't think so though. The fries were shoe string and served with a sugary thousand island dressing. Weird. I don't know... I doubt I will return. Not into this sort of fast food crap off the road thing.

    (2)
  • Sweet L.

I was just watching "Man Vs. Food" and Adam went to Crown Burger. Ahh, takes me back. I LOVE Crown Burger and all it's juicy, supersized goodness. Everything is good from the burgers, the chicken tenders, the shakes, I've tried it all. I also love restaurants which serve unexpected combinations of food instead of just the usual fare of burgers and fries. In this case Souvlaki, Gyros, and Pastrami Burgers. Along with the Burger Bar, CB is one of the best burger joints in the country. Utah, "The Greatest Burgers on Earth" as well? Could be!

  • James P.

If your looking for an excellent place to get a burger in Layton area, look no further than here. I know there are the typical fast food burger chains and even a few Restaurant ones. But I would put any of them to the test against crown burger. I also would rate them as a 4.5 out of 5. No for the burgers themselves they have many to choose from but I can never get enough of their "crown burger" which is a mound of pastrami cooked and placed on the the rest of a cheese burger and its delicious. They also have a range of Delicious Greek food to choose from and yet again I would go here for Greek food over any of the other Greek establishments in the nearby area. They do have a menu for kids and price wise its not too bad. I recommend this establishment to all in the Layton area whom want a great burger and great Greek food.

  • brunho j.

The food is really good, the burgers are fantastic. The prices are getting a bit out of control a crown burger combo with a corn dog 11 bucks and some change that's crazy. And the service is not so great; but that's the way they have always been, they are consistent.

    (4)
  • Armando O.

Heart attack inducing burgers that are charbroiled, salty, greasy and good. I was taken here to experience the crown burger or something along those lines; a burger patty topped with pastrami and cheese.

    (4)
  • Levi B.

If u want an excellent burger that could possibly end your life by heart attack, then this is the place and the crown burger is your poison. My absolute favorite burger of all time.

    (5)
  • J J.

Sort of fast food.. not bad.

    (3)
  • Liz D.

The food is good, service is quick, and the prices are fair. I'm not sure why every place serving fries in Utah has a "fry sauce," but this one seemed okay. I would definitely eat here again.
