I always stay in Kanab on my way to Arizona from Montana. I usually stay somewhere cheap because I arrive late and leave early, but everything was booked, so I stayed here. I wish I had actually been on vacation because I would have loved to stay in this hotel longer. It's a small place, but you get excellent service, free wifi, a bicycle if you want to go on a ride through Kanab, and continental breakfast. The room was very clean, and very fun. Bright colors, comfortable bed, personal note on the pillow. The only reason I didn't give it a five was because of the price, it was a little expensive for what I was doing, but if you can afford it, stay there. It's really great!

Nice place, Good pricing. I grew up in Kanab and like coming back to visit. The beds are comfy, everything is clean. The pool is small but deep and cool. Great for cooling off in the hot summer weather. Quaint and cute.

I should have taken photo of bug I saw on my pillow. I squashed it and lots of blood inside of it. Not mosquito. Almost looked like photos of bed bugs I have seen... Hmmmm now I am checking out the bed. This happened in wee hrs. Need to mention it to management

To me, finding this place is the value of Yelp. I would never have come here without seeing the great reviews. What a find! It's a little strip motel that has probably been around forever, but these guys gave it a facelift while retaining the charm! I highly recommend it. Especially if you are like me and looking for places that are not just the chains.

We needed a place to catch our breathe during a recent road trip and found Quail Park Lodge to be a great answer. - Renovated lodge that keeps the kitsch intact. - Friendly and helpful staff at front desk. - Clean, comfortable rooms. - Free use of bicycles (although we didn't use them).

Like other reviewers I stayed here while volunteering at Best Friends. I had no idea what to expect when we rolled into the parking lot. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and cleanliness of the room! I have to say even though I could hear showers running from other rooms I couldn't hear talking or TV's. That's a huge plus in my book. The seating area out by the pool is really nice to sit (when there aren't hurricane force winds) and read a book or just relax. The entire complex is nice and well kept. The continental breakfast in the front office includes coffee, juice, pastries, fruit, hard boiled eggs and little sausage/cheese balls. They do mean 7am on the dot when they open the door. There aren't any coffee makers in the rooms so 7am can be a bit to wait for your first cup. Otherwise, I do recommend Quail Park Lodge. It is a lovely place to stay. .

Beautiful interior, clean, comfortable and friendly and personable service. Would gladly stay here again. The interior design is really cool and contemporary (particularly loved the sink, bamboo-like bath mat, and faucet). They provide bath robes, lots of towels, plenty of water cups. They don't skimp on anything. The owner must have put a lot of love, care, and money into this place. Also, they are pet friendly and there was a pet adoption magazine on the night stand. Good lodge run by good people.

I am definitely a fan of Quail Park Lodge! I had seen the rooms prior to the new ownership, and let me just say that the new owners have done an amazing, fantastic job! Everything is very clean and updated, and has a cute retro flair. It may not look like much from the outside, but appearances are deceiving. The rooms are kept spotlessly clean, and are pretty quiet. You get a bit of noise from outdoors, and can sometimes hear the showers running in the other rooms, but you definitely can't hear your next door neighbors (unless they're outside, in front of your room), which is nice. There's a cute little pool, seats outside of each room, and a nice little patio area with plenty of seating and a fire pit. Breakfast is offered in the morning, starting at 7am, and includes fruit, pastries, hard boiled eggs, sausage/cheese bites, coffee, and juice - not a bad little spread. The rooms included a welcome note with area weather information, calming spray to freshen the bed linens, free Wi-Fi, and along with the usual toiletries in the bathroom were a shoe cleaner, air deodorizing spray, AND q-tips, which is not something you normally see in hotels, but they always come in handy when traveling. You could also use one of the on-site bicycles to cycle around town, if you were so inclined. All of the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful, and when I thought I might be arriving late for my check in, they were happy to assist me. There was also a little reception one evening on the patio, complete with snacks and drinks and someone giving a talk on parrots...complete with friendly birds for us to meet! Between the cleanliness, friendliness of the staff, and all of the extra little perks, the Quail Park Lodge is a really nice place to stay while in Kanab, and I would definitely stay there again the next time I'm in town.

Wasn't quite sure how to rate this lodge - as we never stayed here. I'd do 5 stars for the courtesy of the desk clerk and 0 stars for the "personal touch"/care. We DID make reservations, coming from a very long distance in mid-AZ. Long story short, I got sick on the trip and we knew we'd never make it to Kanab. We called them as soon as we realized this, of course. We certainly would have liked to have made it to our planned destination! The young man on the phone was VERY nice and said he'd check w/management, but . . . he didn't know that we could cancel w/and get a refund due to their no-refund cancellation policy for under 24 hour cancellations. He said he would try and was sorry about me being ill. We made the right choice by NOT continuing on that day/night to Kanab; yes, we were charged for the room that night. That was disappointing for sure, but needful.

We came here to volunteer at Best Friends and thought we'd check this hotel out based on the reviews. We loved it. Very clean, comfortable, and super cute/kitschy. They offer free bike rentals for guests, a selection of DVDs, DirectTV, a simple continental breakfast, and robes in the room. On top of that, the owners are the nicest people you'll ever meet. The decor might not be everyone's taste - it's very retro-chic. They have obviously taken an old motel and completely renovated it; and they have made it work! We will definitely be staying here again if we come back through Kanab. Also, we noticed the vast majority of hotels here had 'vacancy' signs on... This was the only one with "no vacancy" and there's probably a reason for that. Final note: This hotel does allow sleepovers for Best Friends, but only with dogs, no cats! So if you are wanting to bring a kitty back to your hotel, you will need to find a different one.

The room matched the pictures completely, which was pleasantly surprising. Very cute, retro look. They had bikes you could borrow if you wanted to bike around town, which wasn't listed when I booked the room, but was another pleasant surprise. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The pool was not functioning when we got here, but they were working on it. Since we were only here for one night, it wasn't a big deal. Conveniently located to several restaurants, which allowed us to walk to dinner, and the atmosphere was quiet. My boyfriend was less impressed than I was with the retro look, but we would stay here again.

Classic mid-century modern motel with comfortable semi-luxurious contemporary interiors and a friendly staff.

So adorable. Awesome beds and a first, a DVD player! Loving this place. The rooms are small but perfect. Decorated great and a wonderful price. If I'm in Kanab again I'll only stay here.

We recently stayed here will volunteering for Best Friends Animal Sanctuary and its a really fun, quiet, comfortable, easy, affordable motel. We always had parking, a small breakfast, and our needs met. The beds are comfortable and there is a great fire pit and even bikes for rent for free. The hotel manager is nice as well. We were glad to stay here for a couple days and surprised at how quiet it is as well even though the rooms are right next to each other.

We were so excited to have found this place - there were great reviews, great photos, and great prices. Additionally, this updated-retro-lodge is located in Kanab, Utah, which is relatively close to many renowned sites. We recently stayed here one night out of our weekend trip to Monument Valley and the Grand Canyon. When we first arrived, the manager was quite nice about letting us know where to eat dinner at around the small town. Check-in was easy, as the lodge is a relatively small size. The rooms were FANTASTIC. You walk in and there's a personalized card to you with a welcome note and tomorrow's weather noted. Everything was very clean and newly renovated. Mini-fridge, flat screen tv, robes, alarm clock, and very comfortable beds. Outside [though it was too cold at night] there were cruiser bikes and a very clean looking pool. All was well and dandy until it came to check out. We had places to go, sites to see - literally - and we wanted to leave ASAP when the office opened at 7:00 AM, as noted on their website and by the manager himself when we checked in the night before. We were all ready at 7, looking forward to the complimentary coffee and breakfast and... lights were out, door was locked. Gave it 15 minutes; thought he was making a fruit/pastry run. Gave it 30. Gave it 45 and called the front desk phone number. At this point multiple rooms were out packing their cars, wondering what was going on. One group threw their keys through the mail slot and left to McDonald's for breakfast instead. An hour, called the front desk again. Finally, at 8:30 AM - my boyfriend discovers a buzzer on the front door and held it for a good 15 seconds. Finally the manager comes to the door, apologetically. The coffee was ready, but there were only bananas and mini muffins for "breakfast". Alas, we left an hour and half later than desired, and ate our trail energy bars for breakfast. We also found out nothing else was needed for check out aside from the keys. So, we could have just thrown them through the mail slot as well. A very disappointing way to end our stay there. The management had the rooms together, but apparently not their own time management.

Stopped here a couple of weekends ago. I was attracted by the funky flair of this retro motel. Was happy to be the first to break in the newly renovated king room. New room, new bed, new bedding... very nice after a day of canyon road tripping!. Attentive and informative service. Hope we didn't wake anybody up.

Stayed there for 2 nights with my wife, Tim Jr and my parents. This a a renovated classic old school roadside motel. I had to say that the pictures of the lobby were not helpful - it is coolly decorated, whereas our rooms were not. They were clean and comfortable (once you got the ac adjusted correctly) but not as well designed as the lobby. The property is well located - near a lot of attractions, and Kanab is a very manageable town. The pool is not spectacular but it is cold great for those 95 degree days) and it's fun to sit in it and watch the traffic go by. If you have children be aware that it gets deep very quickly. I also have to give a shout out to Travis and the other guy that worked the front desk. While they are not tour guides, they live in the area and had a lot of useful information. The real amazing part of the area for me were the rock formations on Rt 89. They are under the auspice of the Bureau of Land Management and so you can just park your car and wander around. Travis even gave me his cell # because he was afraid a city slicker like me would get stuck in the sand!

This place was great. As soon as you arrive your greeted with a sincere smile and they immediately put you at ease. The rooms are super clean and comfortable. I came with my in-laws so you could imagine the anxiety, but the owner was righteous and comforting. The lodge is located just a few hours from the south rim grand canyon and other local national parks. If you are truly looking for a clean, relaxing stop during your trip out west this is the best spot in all of Kanab. The unique retro fit to the hotel is the reason we decided to make it our top choice. Top rated thru triple A. Ask Matt the owner and he will put you at ease for tours, restaurants, or anything else you may need. The pool is clean and heated which is also a bonus after a long day touring. Overall the this is the best bet and is awesome!

I stayed at Quail Park Lodge for 6 nights during mid-July while I volunteered at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. The room was very comfortable and it allowed me to take dogs from Best Friends for sleepovers (Please note: there is a shorter list of BF dogs that are available to go to this motel -- this limitation is placed by Best Friends, not the motel. Best Friends does this to ensure the safety of the hotel managers' own dog and cat, who are sometimes allowed to roam free on the property. Still, there are many very excellent dogs on the list -- if you are volunteering at BF, you MUST do doggy sleepovers. You won't regret it and the dogs really benefit from the interaction). There was a microwave and decent-sized refrigerator in the room, as well as a flat screen TV. One nice addition would be a coffee maker or some instant coffee packets for use with the microwave. I am a very early riser and the coffee provided in the office isn't available until 6:30 AM. If you are an early riser as well, you may want to bring some coffee singles with you. I didn't get a chance to use the pool, but it looked great and was very clean. The free wireless internet service is very fast and reliable, but not secured. Jim, the manager, is a great guy to shoot the breeze with. Also, Rena does an excellent job keeping everything neat and tidy.

There aren't enough adjectives for fabulous to describe this place. Stayed here for 3 nights in mid-March while volunteering at Best Friends. We booked 4 rooms using Living Social vouchers and I would stay here even if we had to book at the normal rate (which is really reasonable anyway). The rooms were immaculate and well decorated and the beds were super comfortable with flat screens, a microwave, and a small refrigerator. Robyn is a terrific proprietor - always willing to go the extra mile including having coffee ready at 5:30am on the day we were on the road early for the Best Friends volunteer orientation. Being a dog and cat lover, I appreciated the presence of Robyn's 2 dogs and 2 cats to ease my separation anxiety from my own cat - have no fear if you are animal phobic - these are some of the friendliest pets I have met. There is free coffee (good coffee, too!) in the lobby every morning along with granola bars and pop tarts. I heard no street noise at night nor was there noise from any of the other rooms. I will definitely be back to Quail Park Lodge.
