Both my wife and I had a Burrango with medium spicey sauce. They were not spicy and were luke warm. Tasteless would best describe the meal. Almost returned the meals to be reheated but by then the line was too long. Would not return.

A simple, straightforward menu (enchiladas, salads, wet burritos, and quesadillas), made to order by a friendly staff. Good, fresh food at reasonable prices. One of the best food choices (and the only good Mexican option) in Hurricane.

We stopped at Durango's for dinner after a long day of hiking in Zion. I wasn't expecting much as I have never had much luck eating in Hurricane but I was pleasantly surprised. The portions were good and the food was tasty. It got four stars only because it is not Cafe Rio (definitely a knock off though). There were four adults and two children in our party and we all filled our bellies for about $38! We only had water to drink but we did get a side of chips and salsa along with our meals.

I really enjoyed the hearty, enormous chicken salad I had here! I can eat like a construction-worker and even I could have split this salad with someone. Very Cafe Rio-esque. Fresh ingredients, clean environment, pebble ice. I loved it.

The place is very nice and clean. Unfortunately that is where the pluses end. The food is very bland. I ordered a carnitas burrito and the carnitas had no flavor to it, and the burrito was overloaded with beans. The sauce was flavorless and no sour cream or guac was offered. There are much better Mexican options in Hurricane.

This durangos location is always a GO-TO for our family when we feel like Mexican food. We love the salads and burangos. Kids have shredded beef and grilled chicken. Hubby has steak. I love the shredded chicken.

Heavily-Americanized Mexican food. If you've enjoyed Mexican food on the coasts or near the border, then Durango's is going to taste absurdly mild. ...I forget their names for levels of spiciness, but I remember getting a burrito with the "medium" option and then wondering if there was any spice at all. Next time I'd err on the side of their hottest option.

Don't let the outside fool you... this is a fast food restaurant. There are only 2 locations; the original is nearby in St. George, Utah. The restaurant is similar to a Qdoba or Chipotle, although quality may be a step down. I had a" burrango" (burrito) with shredded beef, black beans, spanish rice, cheese, and spicy salsa. It was NOT spicy at all. A small burrango was enough to fill me up. I also ordered a side of chips with queso. Chips were good, but a few so salty i had to brush off some salt (and I do like salty chips). The queso tasted good, but low quality. Also got a side of guacamole, which was good. Overall, it was okay for fast food.

2.5 is definitely spot on for this place. Someone decided to copy Café Río and put one in Hurricane Utah. Everything tries to be identical to Café Río , but sadly falls short. It wasn't gross and is one of the best places in Hurricane or LaVerkin if you're in the area.

Carnitas is not "sweet pork". Carnitas is roasted pork so don't offend your customers by calling it something it isn't. Everything I had appeared to be out of a can so where on earth they came up with Mexican grill is beyond me. Everything ordered was "spicy". It wasn't!They may think vanilla ice cream spicy! If you've never lived outside of Hurricane Valley this place may be acceptable to you. All others should avoid it. It was clean!

I wasn't fond of Durango's Mexican Grill. The outside and inside look nice and are clean, but my food was very bland. They have a drive-thru, but I would recommend just driving though and finding something else. The menu was confusing so I had to ask employees for help. The employees were nice and friendly. When you look at the menu and see single, double, or triple next to the items it obviously means the amount of tacos or enchiladas etc. that you want, but also this means you get rice and beans with your order. If you don't want the beans and rice then you can simply order a la carte. Everything is made to order and you can choose corn or flour tortillas. I ordered 2 "Shredded Sweet Pork Tacos" priced at $2.80 each. I also ordered a "Cheese Enchilada" made with a flour tortilla priced at $3.73 for the single. The taco was filled with tons of meat, lettuce, onions, and tomatoes. This was a case where it looked better then it tasted. The meat had no flavor however the tortilla was okay. The Enchilada was just so-so. The rice that came with it was dry and reminded me of reheated rice-a-roni. The beans were like the rest of the food... bland! Hubby ordered a "Steak Burrito" priced at $8.15 and it came smothered in sauce. I tasted it and it wasn't terrible, but it wasn't spectacular. For that price I expect it to have flavor. I don't see coming back to Durango's in my future. Nothing about this experience even tasted like Mexican food.

Crazy owner of Durangos! Holy cow, I wrote a poor review of this place 2 YEARS AGO, and the owner of the place "Steve K." emailed me this belligerent email via Yelp this past week. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't eat somewhere where the owner sends emails years later calling their customer's "A**holes." Guy sounds like he needs to go to business class 101 and maybe have a class or two in customer relations. See the insane email below! Mind you, this was in response to a review I wrote 2 years ago! "Lets see you tried to hurt us with trash talkin lies two years ago. Pleased to inform you biggest sale ever on 4th July and the week of the 4th. We are still here makin it big, because we don't cater to the likes of you,let us know how the happy meals are going. It didn't bother me then does not bother me now I just wanted to say hi to all of the assholes from the PAST. We did 120,000. 00 in June does that make u happy hater" From "Steve K." alleged owner of Durangos in Hurricane, UT. Please don't eat there and support owners of businesses that send emails like this to their customers.

First of all, I'm from Southern, CA. which is rich with Mexican culture and food. Durango's was a step down from Taco Bell! I ordered three tacos (2 steak, and 1 shredded beef). At $3 for each taco, you'd think each one was the size of a burrito. To my dismay, it was a similar format at Chipotle, Qdoba, Freebirds, etc. your typical "Americanized" Mexican style restaurant. Their hot sauce was not hot. Ketchup is spicier than their "hottest" hot sauce. I also ordered a side of Spanish rice and refried beans. The rice had enough salt to kill a rhino. The beans, no flavor.

Inexpensive, good portions, good variety to choose from, and good flavor. Chipotle-type atmosphere

This place isn't too bad. Authentic Mexican food? No, it's not! But it's decent Americanized Mexican food. They need friendlier cashiers! You can tell the teenage girls don't like working fast food.... But they should at least pretend to be happy to be there.... Since they are being paid to be there.

The grilled chicken or pulled pork salad with everything on it! That is oh so good and oh so much food. We love it.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
