The Cactus Cowboy in Hatch, UT is not a very fancy place, but it is OHV friendly, which makes it a yearly stop for my family when we are vacationing in nearby Bryce Canyon. The best way to have a good experience here is to not get too fancy. Go in with low expectations, stick to simple burgers or sandwiches and you won't be dissatisfied. I will say that the burger that I got this year was a bit under seasoned. The one thing that puts a damper on our meal here is the sullen teenaged server. It was clear that she didn't want to be working. (Maybe a family run business?). She was not a very good listener, and did things like brought out the wrong salad dressing, and we had to ask for refills, sauces, ketchup, etc. Prices are typical for the area (high tourist traffic) so expect to pay about $9.00 for a burger. Also burgers come with salad or soup. The salad was horrific. Bag o lettuce with tiny little stale croutons. If you want French fries with your burger, it is $1.00 extra.

Oh my my ... We waited more than 45 minutes after ordering before seeing any food. I ordered a chicken salad and my husband the salmon. Nothing super hard to cook. After 45 minutes, the waitress brought us 2 side salads ... Hum ... I ordered a salad and had a salad as a side dish ? Anyway after 5 more minutes, she brought our "food". Lettuce was black on the side, not fresh at all and croutons made me feel sorry for them ... My husband didn't touch the salmon that was as white as chicken and as tasteless as an old shoe. We waited 50 minutes and it took us 2 minutes after that to leave our food and go. And the ladies next table ordered hamburgers before us and were served after us ... Horrible experience.

Please, don't eat here! We had diner with the four of us with 4 main courses ( steak, 2 chicken dish and salmon), 2 deserts and all 1 drink. We had to pay 100 dollars for it which is way too high for what you get. Example; haricots out of a can were served instead of fresh ones. The price is way out of balance for what you get!

We came here because it was the only restaurant open at 8:30 pm.The food was mediocre at best and pricey. Canned corn, tiny dehydrated croutons in the salad, and the salmon fillet for $17 was not fres and had an after taste. I wouldn't recommend this place.

A charming country restaurant I had the pleasure to stop at while driving to Bryce National Park. With various seating areas, the rear seating in the day time displays a mountain and canyon landscape, very cool! It was fairly empty but I believe it was due to the off winter season. The service was very friendly, and lunch was delicious- hamburgers made right, bowl of soups- hearty. The whole restaurant featured local artists work, that you can purchase. *they also have a souvenir shop

ok - you're literally in the middle of nowhere, so for location I'd give it much higher because it was good, but it was not a 5 star that the previous reviewer mentioned - I suspect a ringer there... We ordered a burger (it was a giant frozen patty on a skillet/grill), wonderful bacon and cheddar cheese. Normal oversized sesame seed bun, not warmed or anything special. I was good. NOT spectacular. 1/3 pound for $8. Kids ordered chicken fingers (good) - one with fries (good) and another with fruit (canned pears, peaches & grapes). I also had a salad - 4 generic dressing choices. It was fresh and good - again, nothing spectacular. In short, a good safe choice. The menu wasn't huge. They did have coho salmon - and also an elk burger ( I was too chicken to try it!). VERY friendly service. The view has an RV park in the foreground.
