We love the smothered burritos, and eat them regularly. I've tried a few other things on the menu & haven't been as impressed. But, it is good food for the price & I would recommend trying it if you're in the mood for Mexican. The restaurant is also kid-friendly, which is a plus in my book at least.

First time last time. The only good thing I tasted was the tacos of asada other than that it was gross flavorless and expensive. I'm Mexican and I know authentic food this place is not authentic.

This food is very similar to Lorenas. Horrible cheese, spicy salsa, weird tasting food. Customer service was OK. I do not like going to the front to pay. If I get a big jug of water for refills I see no point in tipping. I am not a fan of them observing me while I eat. If they can see me I feel life they are gawking. I started thinking about cleanliness when I saw one of the ladies pull out the big stack of chips bowls that the chips are touching the bowl on top of it. I wonder if they ever clean the water jugs or dump out previous customers water before the next person. A lady gathered up like 4 then took them to the back. I should have ate slower and observed more. I won't be back.

The food here is authentic tasting, spicy and full of flavor. Perhaps authentic spicy food is not popular in Centerville. Could be the culture idk. I was raised on good Mexican food growing up and have a knack for knowing what's good and whats not. I was a bit perturbed seeing a 2.5 rating and had to give a review. I've eaten at other La Puentes and haven't been the most impressed, but this establishment is on top of it.

We both had the small combination platter and it was very good. It's hard to find good Mexican food close by. Their food is authentic and flavorful. The portion was huge and the service was great. Great little gem of a restaurant. The atmosphere is not really that of a Mexican restaurant and the place didn't have too many customers, but don't let that scare you off.

This place is okay. I would give it 2.5 stars, but since that's not a option, I rounded up. The chips were stale, but the salsa was delicious. I got a smothered burrito and it was good. However, the rest of my party had an okay to subpar meal. Maybe, it was an off day for them. The staff is friendly, but the prices are a little high ($12.50) for a smothered burrito. Locally, I would rather go to Cafe Rio (not authentic, but tasty and cheaper). If you can travel, head into Salt Lake and go to La Fronterra on 4th South (I haven't been here in a few years, but it was one of my favorite Mexican restaurants).

Good salsa, good food. Huge portions, friendly, fast service. Considering there's no other Mexican restaurants in the immediate area, the bar isn't set very high. That said, we'll be returning soon.

We love La Puente. Staff is friendly helpful they come to check on you frequently. The food is amazing we love eating their smothered burritos and cheese enchiladas. For our family of six we usually pay under $50. The restaurant is very clean I love the atmosphere not decorated over the top like usual Mexican restraunts.

My husband and I went once and once was enough for us. The food was just not good. Tasteless. I had a enchilada with rice and beans. I left over half of it on my plate. The portions are very big, and it's reasonably priced, but the quality and taste of the food was so very lacking. The chips were too salty and the salsa wasn't anything to write home about. I was stoked when a Mexican restaurant opened in this area, but I was disappointed.

Both my son and I have food allergies. My son's are much more complex than mine so sometimes I get involved in his and forget to check for my own. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and attentive to cross contamination. After our order was placed, our server returned to inform me that my order contained some of his allergens and asked if I had allergies to the same things. I mentioned that I was allergic to pork. She told me that the sauce in my order contained pork fat and saved me from a reaction. Absolutely amazing to experience such attentive service and be able to eat out safely.

My husband and I are regular diners at La Puente, and don't have any gripes. In our experience, the service has always been good and friendly, and the food (while perhaps not the most authentic) is great for the price. The reason for the 3 out of 5 stars is due to them not having great options for young children, and this is always a bit of a problem when we have our toddler with us, and so that makes this place not as "family friendly".

Food was subpar overall. Chips and salsa had a strange flavor. Food selection was standard Mexican with tacos burritos enchiladas etc. lots of food for the price. service was good, but I wouldn't come back again.

I was disappointed overall. The food was pedestrian for claiming to be "authentic". The service wasn't great either. We ordered fried jalapeños for an appetizer. I thought it would be jalapeño poppers, but it was literally a jalapeño that was thrown in the fryer. My fault for assuming, but thought I would share. Not sure if it bugs anyone else, but I am not a fan of restaurant that I have to go to the front to pay at. Seems to make it feel a little low on class. I always prefer to pay at the table. Just one of my idiosyncrasies I guess.

It started with a Sunday evening search for something decent to eat in Centerville and ended with a sinking feeling of disappointment. You can usually gauge the quality of the food you'll get at a Mexican restaurant by the chips and salsa you receive before the meal. The chips were far too thick and the salsa too runny. I kept asking my husband if he was getting the same strange taste I was getting, and once my cheese enchiladas arrived at the table I realized what was wrong. The oil used to cook the tortillas had started to go rancid. Not one to complain, I just ate my rice and beans and paid the bill. The husband didn't mind his nachos, but we both agreed we won't be returning. The atmosphere was lacking, from the apathetic server to the unnerving absence of music, not to mention the very dark interior that makes the place feel like a crypt. I'll give them credit for having very clean bathrooms, but Centerville can do much better than this.

Located in the old Firehouse pizza location. The service is good and attentive, the food is average but not by much. You get a lot of food for the money.

food was good. Fast. Shredded beef was not as flavorful as other places like Javiers

My family and I decided to try this restaurant because we did not want to eat hamburgers. We were seated promptly but by a disinterested waitress that did not know that they serve corn dogs for kids. The chips tasted awful. I think they were fried in rancid oil. The food was tasteless. I hesitated to come here and now I know why.

This place had some of the most bland and unappetizing food we have eaten in a long time. The service was lethargic and place looked less than clean. We left VERY disappointed.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
