My family was craving sushi and we are so happy to have found Fuji Sushi! Our server Ynn gave excellent recommendations from an extensive menu. We had sisho tacos and fried wontons for appetizers followed by the playboy, spider, and Fuji rolls. Everything was fresh and excellent. You can even enjoy a cold beer or hot sake!

While this place is a bit of a pain to find, it's worth the chore. If you can stay out of view of the extremely odd and out of place cabinetry in the front by the door, then the ambiance is very nice, particularly in the enclosed booths. It's a pretty cool place to chill and hang out and the green tea was excellent enough to allow that, which I find more and more lately, is a major, major component of that...at least in Asian places. The calamari was a miss, as were the sauces for it. You can safely skip those and not miss anything. Very pedestrian and I'm willing to hazard a bet came fresh from frozen. The sushi was considerably better, nearly universally well constructed and executed, to the point where several needed little, if any, accompaniment. It's very nice to find places like that, where the sushi can breathe and the ingredients can mesh and marry in a happy harmony, unlike the places that nearly require a dose of soy sauce and/or ginger on top to continue on with. Frankly, it was surprising to find a place of this caliber in Centerville. While not competition for the heavy hitters of Salt Lake or Tona in Ogden, it definitely supercedes everything south of the Tsunami before the Point. With some very solid interior guidance and possibly some menu tweaks, this easily could be competition for those places I mentioned and is definitely the best bet between downtown and Ogden...service was pretty good overall as well. Definitely a nice surprise.

I will give this place another try and am glad I found it, however I won't say it is the best or worst sushi I have had. There were highlights - the crazy tuna roll, specifically the pepper tuna on it was divine and when I asked for some rice for my 10 month old they gave it at no cost. And there were lows - the salad was swimming in dressing (enough for 4 salads!) and the philly roll was off (I can't put my finger on why but it didn't taste right). I will definitely try Fuji sushi one more time and will be ordering an appetizer of pepper tuna and some different rolls.

The sushi is great. The service is excellent. This is really great fresh sushi! We had the Sunset and Caterpillar roll. The sunset roll was my favorite, with a touch of lemon. Our waiter was Daniel. He is really on top of things. The hot Sake topped it all off. Don't let the outside of this place fool you either. It's very nice inside.

The service was amazing, their Gyoza was pretty good, and the chicken was very fresh. I enjoyed the sushi, and the service and overall experience made it a win. My wife loved it.

Everything was perfect. From the atmosphere, to the service, to the food. Best sushi I've had in a long, long time. The prices are phenomenal for the quality and quantity. I highly recommend the pink lady roll. If you're in or around the Centerville area and looking for great sushi, make this the place.

The only thing I have to complain about this place is the price. Definitely expensive. However, the sushi itself is really good. Service was friendly and pretty quick. This seems to be the only decent place to get sushi between Salt Lake City and Ogden.

Sushi in Utah? From what I've been to this is one of the better places around. Great service. My wife and I ordered 3 rolls and were stuffed. Vegas roll if you liked fried.

I've really enjoyed the sushi I have gotten here. My favourites include the Morris Roll (not on the menu), The Cowboy, and The Playboy. The octopus (I can't remember what it's called on the menu!) was slightly overcooked when I got it, making it extremely difficult to chew. Besides that, I have never had any complaints. Quaint atmosphere.

If you have ever had Yakisoba then you know one of the best parts is the yummy thick noodles.... Well if you come here your going to get Roman noodles instead. When the waitress came and brought me my food I was like what the heck... The flavor was eh... nothing that great. Definitaly not the best Yakisoba I have had.. The owners were not very friendly... that kinda sucked, our waitress was nice you could tell that she was really stressed however and there were like two people eating besides us there.. weird.. I did notice we both started to get a headache before we even left and the next day both felt really sick and had massive headaches. I'm not trying to say that something was rotten or not cooked I'm just saying that our bodies didn't take it too good to what we ate there. I know after getting sick like that I won't be coming back though. I feel it was pretty over priced for what you got, I rather drive a little further to Sapa.

This place has almost no curb appeal and it took us years to even give it a try. But once you do you will likely return because the food is very good. They have plenty of non-sushi options as well so don't be scared to enter if you fear the naked fsih. A solid 4 star restaurant.

Great sushi for a good price. The playboy roll is very good. You won't go wrong on any roll on the menu.

I love this place. GREAT sushi!! We had the lettuce wrap as an appetizer and it was huge and delicious. Shared the Vegas and spider rolls. Both were very good and rolls were huge. Only have been here once, but I will be back. Service was great too!

I wanted to try a new place and chose Fuji Sushi. My wife was out of town and she doesn't like sushi so this was a chance for my son and me to go Japanese! This was our first time there. We were ambitious and tried 4 rolls. They were all good but here they are in the order we liked with the best first. Black Angel, Bonsai, Samurai, Crazy Tuna. The Black Angel has shrimp tempura, mango, avocado, topped with spicy crab. Great combination. Loved it! The Bonsai has spicy yellowtail, avocado, jalapeño, wasabi tobiko and sriacha sauce. It wasn't too spicy. Just right. The Samurai had shrimp tempura with salmon on top. Service was great - the rolls came out fast. We were there early in the evening so it wasn't crowded. Looking forward to going back.

First time coming to Fuji, sushi was good, it was pretty quiet on a friday night! The beer was cold and the sushi was reasonably priced.

The sushi is fresh here, they give a good amount of fish inside their rolls. I think they cooked their edamame perfectly, still firm and crisp. We ate the Diet Naruto is a great no rice roll with lots of fish, light & refreshing. Their volcano is different than most places, not my favorite variation of it. I enjoyed their firecracker a really perfect amount of siracha sauce on top and a perfect amount if tuna inside. In the past I've ordered the Christy & Sunset rolls, those are great too! The service is super friendly as well. The downside, under our table was wet and slippery, and one side of our booth lacked a back cushion... But hey it's good food!

First off, I've eaten here 20 or so times since it opened. I have always found their fish fresh and flavors good. On occasion the service has been slow, but for the most part it's been ok. Its a solid 4 stars for the food. The downside; the owners. Some of the most irritating and intrusive people I have ever met. The mr. - Pompous and right about everything., which is ok if you don't make eye contact, which seems to be an invitation to come over and spew nonsense whilst attempting to dine in peace. The mrs. - Intrusive, loud and completely unconscious of her unwanted presence and unsolicited solicitations. Stay in the back, let your staff, which is spotty, handle your patrons. I'd eat here 500% more often if I didn't have the promise of forced idiosyncrasies knocking on my window the whole time I am attempting to enjoy a meal. After all, I invited the people I walked in the door with to lunch, not you. Btw, the baked mussels we had today had broken shells in them, rendering them in edible, but we chose not to say anything, because that would warrant interaction with aforementioned mr. and mrs. Also, change your fryer oil. Our roll with tempura tasted like a corn dog that was fried on the last day of a week long carnival. Which would be fine if I was actually eating a corn dog. This no workee for a sushi joint and the associated prices. Sucking it up and paying for them is a less painful scenario.

We went to Fuji for dinner last night. As we were seated in the booth by the window, I put my hand down on the bench to scoot in and a glass shard cut into my hand. It wasn't bad but enough to bleed for a few minutes. The bench had a few other glass shards on upon closer examination. The waitress that was seating us apologized and said she'd clean up the glass. We were reseated in a different booth and they brought a hot cloth for my hand. I'm not the type to make a scene or spout demands so I didn't push the issue. I did feel like it would have been appropriate to the business to offer to comp part or all of the meal but no offer was made and we were charged the full bill. The food was good, Dancing Eel especially but this situation could have been handled better.

This is our go-to place for sushi. It's usually quick and the food is consistent. My husband and I only started eating sushi about a year ago when I was pregnant and craved sushi constantly. Neither of us were fish eaters so we started off eating vegetarian rolls. While browsing the menu we saw the Cowboy roll that had steak and crab. We ate that for about 6 months before being brave enough to try other fish (we also had to wait until I wasn't pregnant to try raw fish.) We still prefer tempura fried rolls and their Vegas always satisfies. When we go with a group that is more adventurous than we are, I try most rolls and I can't say that there is one I don't like. We have only had one or two busy Friday nights when we had to wait for our food. Their staff changes frequently but we've always been pleased. Their presentations are nothing like Sushi Monster but I prefer simple. Their rolls are easy to eat, which is more than I can say for the other place...

Seated inside one of their private rooms was a nice intimate setting. Not gonna lie, after a bit, felt a little like I was in an elevator. The interior decor is for sure a highlight though. Super nice staff. Slightly limited on the Veggie options... But the menu is extensive. Went with the banana tempura, thinking there would be a slight crunch....but it was all mush. So the texture of the roll really threw me off, and didn't taste well together. Yet the sweet potato roll made up for it.

Updating review. 5 stars for the Angel roll and playboy roll. Fantastic! The rainbow roll was so-so. But the first two rolls were awesome so five stars are deserved. Not a cheap place though.

I decided to visit this establishment for dinner after reading the great yelp reviews. I was not disappointed as the restaurant lived up to all of my expectations. It is difficult to choose a sushi when there is so many choices on the menu...so I picked a couple that sounded tasty... * Firecracker Sushi * Spicy Tuna Roll * Caterpillar Roll It was fantastic. I had wanted to order the fired oysters but not tonight....my taste buds were in heaven. Decor is nice, music is soft .... maybe not very japanese, but soothing anyway. The restaurant was not overly busy and I was given hugh amounts of attention....filling my water, filling my coke....how was the meal...they certainly exhibited good customer service.

Eaten here many times. I love the sushi! Bonsai and Crazy Tuna rolls are amazing! Unfortunately, on my most recent visit, a new employee appears to have her baby at work and is more concerned with chatting and her kid than being professional.

Fuji Sushi is the BEST! I have traveled all over the world and nothing compares to Fuji Sushi. My favorites are. Spicy Kani salad, Shiso tacos, mermaid roll, pepper tuna, B&H roll, double D roll, to name a few. Service is excellent! Give Fuji Sushi a try, i promise you wont be disappointed!

Not your average "hoity toity" sushi place. Located in a small strip of retail stores in quaint Centerville, Fuji Sushi lacks the over-the-top, expensive ambiance of many sushi places I've sampled cuisine at in the past. In fact, that's one of the reasons I like Fuji Sushi. It's not about putting on airs here; it's about great service, decent prices, and some pretty darn good sushi! Everything we tried was fresh, delicious, and presented beautifully. The staff was friendly and knowledgable. And gee whiz, was the service fast! The menu is extensive and has a miriad of soups, entrees, sashimi, and sushi rolls. There was even wine list, which surprised me a little, given it's small-town Utah locale. My husband spent years living in Japan and said the sushi here is some of best he's had state side. If you're in the area and wanna get your sushi on, Fuji Sushi is highly recommended!

Went there on a Saturday around 445 for an early dinner. The sushi rolls were amazing. Their tempura veggies were huge, which I did not like. The service was okay. Not the best but certainly not the worst.

Wow! Fresh and well made sushi in Centerville! You can create your own roll with any and everything you want for cheap... and it is good! I named mine the Tunagi and literally put everything I wanted in and on it. Not only is it amazing, it's only $12.50. I tried to make the same roll in SLC and it cost me $20 and wasn't even close to the quality. I am not easily impressed when it comes to sushi, but Fuji is legit. The service is awesome as well. When we come in they know us by name and ask, "Would you like to order the Tunagi tonight?" If you like sushi, you need to try Fuji.

Just average. Portions are good. Weird music for sushi. 80's rock? Sloppy work from the sushi bar. Tempura was pretty greasy and on the soft side. Been here 4 times and Mikado is definitely better.

I've eaten here many times. I had a lunch bento box today for $9. Really good food and friendly staff. I just noticed there is Sushi Monster at Station Park so I hope Fuji Sushi can compete because this place is awesome.

I've been 3 times. Quite like it. Don't go looking for atmosphere as they don't have it. The service has been ok twice good once. For their deep fried rolls they have a batter that is one of the lightest I've had. I like this, the batter doesn't cake the roll. Presentation of the dishes is good. They have good desserts. A fried cheesecake that was excellent. Pricing is what you find at most sushi places, rolls go from $8-$14.

RUN DONT WALK TO FUJI SUSHI!!! I'm from NY and Los Angeles.. I've been to hundreds of sushi places. FUJI SUSHI is SUPERIOR. I had a tuna hand roll tonight that was SOOO fresh...it was the best I've ever had. The menu is so varied, creative and interesting, with many kinds of things, something for everyone, sushi, sashimi, Bento boxes, and plenty of wonderful hot dishes - steak, salmon, chicken, shrimp, noodles - and salads, spouts and veggie dishes. The piece de resistance is an appetizer called " SHISHO TACO" WITH CRABMEAT. THIS DISH IS BRILLIANT! You must go to FUJI SUSHI JUST TO TRY THIS! It is the most delicious thing I have ever eaten! IT'S OVER THE TOP The owner chef REALLY KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING, HE IS TRULY GIFTED AND CREATIVE. Friendly staff, cute little friendly tables with curtain for a romantic date, sushi bar, wine, beer and saki, large groups easily accommodated.. Daily specials. Well worth the drive from downtown. It's the best sushi in UTAH. I LOVE TO APPRECIATE GREATNESS IN ALL FORMS, AND FUJI SUSHI IS A REAL FIND! You will love it. I just had dinner there tonight, was taken to lunch there this week, mand I cant wait to go back!

They've got a lunch special that is filling and a great price for basic rolls. Take out is a bit slow, but I've never been disappointed by the food so it's not enough to stop me. My favorite roll is the caterpillar--divine, I promise. I agree that is doesn't quite have the atmosphere of a sushi bar in California, but for Centerville, it's perfect.

    (4)
  • Ben A.

Decent grub at a decent price. It isn't a place that I'll go very often, but if someone is visiting and wants some sushi, this place won't disappoint. They have a good menu with other options, so you aren't stuck with sushi if it's not your thing.

It's just ok, but it is sushi, it's not Makato's, and it is near Bountiful so I eat there. Owner (I think) weirds me out. Foods ok.

  • A C.

It's the only place I can find sweet potato sushi. After actually living in both Japan and California, I think this place is amazing. It's not gaudy like the places you'll find at the Gateway Center in SLC or certain parts of SoCal so if you're not looking to show off your arrogant side and just want delicious, authentic sushi, mochi and yakisoba - this is the place to go to! (They do serve delicious sake as well)

One of the best restaurants I've eaten at. The presentation is wonderful and the food delicious. You can tell the employees' really care about their restaurant and are committed to excellence.
