HUGE portions of food and great! I had an omelet and of course a scone. Of course a good atmosphere helps, but to me the food is well worth it. The service was fast and food was hot and a plenty. I don't know why the bad reviews. Disregard them and give this place a chance.

The waitress seemed like she was so done when she came to our table. My group is from California and we have never had a utah scone so we asked her what was so special and I kid you not this was her response "umm have you never had a scone? I dunno it's good." Oh ok that helpful.the scone actually eas really good and if she wud have said oh its made fresh everyday I would have been completely fine with that answer. I didn't even want to ask her for anything else after that. The food did come out super fast and it was like any average omelet and hash browns. The water even had extra protein from a bug floating around so that was thoughtful.

I'm only leaving one star because I think you have to leave review. This place is ghastly. I will NEVER eat here again. You only get one chance to make a first impression... I ordered a ham and cheese omelet. When it arrived at my table the inside was not cooked. The replacement omelet arrived as everyone else was finishing up breakfast. Another member of my party ordered and omelet as well, and received a thin layer of "egg paper" around the ingredients. My breakfast came with toast that arrived at the table cold and butter-less. The oatmeal I ordered for my daughter was previously concrete mix. The service was horrible. We were clearly interrupting plans the entire wait staff had for the day. I know not what they were, but it did not involve customers. When we went to leave there were three other tables waiting at the register to pay. One left their cash on the counter and left, one left the line to pay her server, and I left the other half of my party there to pay. I miss them dearly and have no idea when we will see them again. If you need to vomit and are looking for something to assist you in that endeavor this is your place. If you want breakfast, McDonald's is a better, and safer bet.

I returned yet again. Took my wife this time. Pancakes were way too big and hanging over the plate on the not-so-sanitary table. The apparent "head" person was lazy and clearly unconcerned. She sauntered back and forth past dirty tables left people at the cash register for long periods before she sauntered over to take their money. There were three good servers trying hard to take good care of their customers, but they were getting no help from the kitchen or the obviously uninvested lackadaisical "Head". I give up. No more for us. :( Holy Cow! Do the owner-operators read? If so do they read these reviews? If so do they care? If they are getting advice, they obviously aren't taking it!! I really miss Dee's Family Restaurant!!

Pretty good breakfast food - when you can actually get it... When these guys first set up shop in Bountiful we had a pretty great experience eating there the first few times. Huge portions, good breakfast food (Sausage and bacon that would have made Ron Swanson weep), decent service. They had taken over a struggling Marie Calendars, so the restaurant was a little run down, but comfortable. Perfect atmosphere for breakfast. A seat yourself, first come first serve type of place. We had been pretty big fans of the original in Kaysville, so we were thrilled to have our own in town. About the food, their pancakes are always monstrosities, but in a great way. We discovered their fritters (intimidating enormous beasts of a pastry) and sweet rolls (full size is Tuff Shed size), awesome hash browns, fantastic scones, and delicious omelettes. It was like the chubby little lovechild of Angie's in Logan and Ruth's up the canyon. Honestly, sometimes when they would sit that plate of pancakes down in from of you, you would feel like the kids from HISTK's... Then things started to change... We had been going probably a handful of times a year, but the issues regarding their service had been apparent for a while. Each time we went the service (and even the food in some cases) got a little worse. Fast forward to this last weekend. The place is full. It's a Saturday morning. We seat ourselves in a booth and immediately a very busy waitress comes over to take our order. We tell her we just sat down and need a minute to go over the menu. She nodded, slouching away a little annoyed. And, she never came back. We weren't the only abandoned ones, at least as far as we could tell. Looking around the restaurant it appeared a lot of other people were in the same situation. We weren't in a hurry so we didn't try to tackle any of the staff sprinting through the crowded room. At one point, maybe ten minutes in, we thought we saw our waitress, but we couldn't be sure. We left after about forty-five minutes. We probably won't go back. I wouldn't hold it against them if this had been the exception, that happens. But sadly this was no isolated incident. The servers at this place have slowly become more haggard and indifferent over the years. It is never a good sign when you can't find your waitress for fifteen minutes (are we supposed to eat with our hands?), then they come back to ask you how things are tasting in a Marlboro cloud looking like Pigpen from Peanuts. I miss the good ol' days, leaving the place barely able to walk, happy, and ready for the rest of the weekend. Oh brother.

Upon arriving our waitress was off putting. She was rude and snarky when we asked a question and was intimidating and frightened us. When the water came out there was a bug in one of them. After ordering however our food came out very quickly. The food had large portions and was very good!

Last time we were here, we hardly received service. And when the waitresses finally did decide to do their jobs, it was awful. This time, we were there for 20+ minutes and didn't receive any service. We were 'lucky' to get menus. We used to go here every Monday for breakfast. But after these last two visits, I won't be returning.

It's not what it used to be. This was from the same family as Sills and Doug and Emmys in Layton and they used to have a similar menu. Unfortunately they no longer use real butter and now instead of music in the background (like Johnny Cash) they have a TV that plays news or infomercials. This place has gone from 5 stars to 1 star and we used to go every Saturday morning. Today we went for the last time and will be going to Sunshine cafe in north salt lake or Coachmans in SLC instead. South valley the Belgian Waffle Inn is fantastic.

I don't write reviews often, it usually has to be either exceptionally good or exceptionally bad. This place is exceptionally BAD! I travel frequently so I eat in restaurants 70-80% of the time, and I don't expect too awful much out of a small, home town restaurant but this dump failed on every level. Even a marginal place can typically get you a cup of coffee in the morning but these guys couldn't even do that. No service, EXTREMELY slow service when it happened, people leaving because they couldn't get anything to eat, food wrong when it finally came (not just one item, several), what was supposed to be hot food cold, food awful in general. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this dump, there are too many other places to spend your money.

If I could leave zero stars... I would!!! The atmosphere here is terrible. Piped in music was old country, which is fine. But the kitchen has some awful music pounding loud enough to drone over the piped music. The staff is shouting at each other, apparently someone is "pissed off" at someone! Uncomfortable awful experience. Sad part is the food didn't completely suck. Subpar... But edible. I will not be back!!! And couldn't get out fast enough. Off to Starbucks to get a decent cup of coffee.

Oh boy, where do I begin... There are so many things that are absolutely wrong with this place. I wish I'd seen reviews below before I wondered into this place. Some people put decent reviews stating that they loved the portion size... Sure! If you love eating loads of pure garbage!! But I agree with one of the reviews for sure: it's hard to mess up breakfast even if you try, but they did it! So here how it goes, you come in and seems like you find yourself at a secret Russian mafia headquarters - dark and awkward, except the 80s country blasting full force. Then you sit yourself and wait, and wait a little more (study endless menu) and then you notice the waitress runs (!) to your table out of breath and asks what do you want . Poor thing is one of two for the whole damn place serving a crowd of garbage loving people! So you give her your order, and what seems like two minutes later she comes back with your food. And this is where the real shit comes down!! I happened to order German toast combo with eggs and bacon... I've never tried German toast before, had no idea what it was, but I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to have a batter dripping on a side... No seriously, there is a pancake batter looking thing dripping onto my plate off a very very very pale toast . So I set it aside to let my girl know about it, keeping my hopes up for a better experience with eggs in the meantime. Hmmm, how would I describe those... A burned slob of packaged eggs from save-a-lot would look better! It looked like the chef (scratch that, person in the kitchen) just poured some on a grill, went on to make a ginormous omelet for a neighboring table and did something else, maybe went for a smoke outside, and then scrapped the eggs off into a plate and threw some processed cheese on a top to hide the burned spots coz it'll melt faster. And I assume, this is the moment when chef remembered about that German toast that comes with eggs and whipped it 'on a fly' without actually cooking it through. So I asked the girl to remake the toast, and she left into the dark hallway to the kitchen and then I've heard the chef screaming back in disappointment of my decision to send it back... mind you, the country tune still blasting! Of course, a minute later I get a new toast. Nothing is dripping, but it is still pale. The chef was in a rush to make things better, let's hope. Yeah, I don't think I'll ever come back, or recommend this place, or write worse review that this one (let's hope). My big question is why! Why the owners do not want to maximize on a key location and what it seems like a good story of a family operated restaurant to attract more people, and most importantly , retain customers. Granny Annie's has an enormous potential. It's the foundation, meaning owners and /or managers, that need to pick up their game and enjoy the rewards. I've overheard the waitresses gossiping on bad tips, maybe it's a sign to fix what's wrong first?!? Yay? Nay? P.S. Owners, phhhhhlease invest into new silverware at least! The rust on my knife didn't add any exotic feeling to my dining experience at all.

STAY AWAY!! My dad and I went for breakfast this past weekend. We walk in and were greeted by a "Seat Yourself" sign. We made our way to the dining room to seat ourselves and could not find a clean empty table in site. Finally were able to find a busser to clear a table for us. Once we got seated we looked around and noticed it was chaos everywhere. The frustrated looks on the other diners faces should have been our cue to leave, but we stayed anyway. A waitress on the run, literally running through the restaurant, threw our menus on the table without saying a word and then dashed off. We had a chance to review the menu and had our order taken by a different waitress and then we waited. While waiting we got an opportunity to take in the uncomfortable entertainment that ensued. Servers and owners running through the restaurant. Guests that were tired of waiting for service getting up to leave. Food continually being brought out to the wrong tables, one plate at a time. Seriously, it was as though the servers picked a random table to start at and then continued their guessing game around the restaurant, stopping at every table to ask "Does this look like yours?" After my plate had stopped at three or four tables to play this game, it finally made its way to me. The food wasnt bad. It wasn't the best breakfast i'd ever eaten, and someone definitely had a heavy hand with the pepper, but otherwise good. My dad's meal was still MIA. We were able to stop who we are assuming was in charge on his mad dash through the restaurant barking orders to inform him that my dad still hadnt received his breakfast. Within minutes he had his omelet in front of him, which was thrown down in the same fashion that we received the menus. My dad was also supposed to get a scone and some hashbrowns which never showed up. Once I was finished with my plate and my dad was about 3/4ths of the way done with his omelet a server stopped and noticed my dad was missing some of his meal. We told her not to worry about it as we were almost finished now anyways. A few moments later she showed back up at the table with his scone and tried to force it on us after repeatedly stating we didnt want it anymore. This resulted in the guy in charge stopping at our table. Telling the waitress that she "pissed him off" and to comp our meal. It was one hell of a crazy breakfast. I kept waiting for Gordon Ramsey to come out and tell us we were on Kitchen Nightmares or something Extremely disorganized. Unprofessional. Uncomfortable environment. Average food. I definitely will not be returning.

Service was awful. Had to wait 15 minutes before they even brought a menu. Ate for breakfast and got the bountiful special. Scone was awesome and huge. My wife ordered a breakfast sandwich with a biscuit which was moist and not dried out. If it wasn't for the terrible service it may have been a better experience based on the actual taste of the food.

Where do I start? Service, food or price? Best advice is to not visit at all. Waited an hour and never got our full order, omelet was cold and not as ordered. Our bill was not accurate either. Overall this was a terrible experience.

I've been a fan of Granny Annie's in Kaysville, UT. So, when we were going to meet friends from SLC for breakfast I thought Granny Annie's Bountiful would fit the bill as a halfway point. The menu is the same at both locations. There's not a healthy item to be found on any of the pages. But Granny Annie's isn't known for its fruit cups. We arrived at 8:30AM and it wasn't too busy. Our food arrived very quickly. Granny Annie's knows how to do carbs! I ordered Joe's bfast: French toast cooked in pancake batter. It was superb. My kids split a scone, & sweet roll. All portions are enormous! And the prices are very fair. With my meal, I also got eggs & bacon. The eggs were blech. I asked for cheese with my scrambled eggs. My cheese came in the form of a processed cheesefood Kraft slice on the top of my eggs. But again, you don't eat here for the eggs. It's all about the scones, pancakes, sweet rolls, etc.., I had two big complaints. The first was the noise. This location of Granny Annie's is in an old Marie Calendar's. The place is cavernous. And any noise is magnified. Pipe in some elevator music! It'd do wonders. My second irritation was that our server seemed to be overloaded on the number if tables she was waiting. Most if our requests were met with, "give me a few minutes". There were a a ton of "minutes" between when we finished our meal, and when we FINALLY got our check. The place had filled up considerably, from the time that we arrived, so I know our server was busy, but I think it took far too long for us to get out of there. Not the best, but not the worst. We'll be back.

I would really love to love this place but I can't! Nothing like the location in Kaysville and I just don't know if I will go back unless big changes are made. My food today was cold and my daughters egg was not cooked. I say fire the cook, remodel and turn up the heat. We really need a good place in Bountiful but I have tried this place a few times and it never is good! I hope they can get there act together. The staff is not outgoing what so ever as well.

Our loyalties for breakfast usually take us elsewhere, but after several family members recommended Granny Annie's we decided to give it a try. They are located in the old Marie Calendar's on Main St. Nothing much has been done to spruce up the place, so prepare yourself to be slightly underwhelmed when you walk in. One look at the menu and you might forget the sad interior. So many delightful breakfast choices from biscuits and gravy to classic egg and bacon, pancakes, waffles, German toast (French toast cooked in pancake batter) and my personal favorite, a giant Utah-style scone with honey butter. Throw in a pot of coffee and I'm one happy girl. The kids menu is perfect for my ankle biters, the portions are big enough for my kids to share. Our family can get an incredibly filling breakfast for less than $20. Just a side note, the hash browns are quite dry and bland. It appears that they use shredded baked potatoes and only heat them slightly. Not the end of the world, but you might be better off not ordering them.

We ate there because we wanted a local experience, but it was pretty funny. The Half portion of hashbrowns was really big and pretty chewy like it had been there for a while. The waffle with fruit turned out to be a waffle with jam and lots of it. Other than that it was okay but not great.

Had breakfast with a business associate on a Wednesday morning. The dining room only had about 20 people. Our server was appropriately attentive. I had the veggie omelet with wheat toast. The omelet was very large and quite good. The veggies were cooked about right and it had plenty of cheese. The hash browns were overdone (too crisp). There was plenty to eat.

So embarrassed I took my family here to eat. Its seat yourself which would normally be no problem... If they could at least bus the tables so you had a place to sit. As it was we stood around looking and the many free tables- empty of customers but full of dirty dishes. I finally had to track down a worker and asked if someone could bus a table so we could sit. That took a bit more but we finally got to sit and wait for a menu and wait even longer to order. The food which used to be great was nothing special and tasted like it was premade then reheated in the microwave. The waitress forgot our table's seemingly minor requests (lemon for tea, butter for toast) and had to be reminded three times. The only saving grace was the scones... But being Utah there are plenty of places to find those. Long and short of it- avoid this place. There are much better options for places to spend your money.

I had been here once before and been somewhat satisfied but this last experience was lame-sauce. We (a young family of 4) stopped in last night and were greeted by a sign which read please seat yourself; so we did. After sitting for about 3 minutes I went on a search for some menus. After another 5 minutes of not being greeted by a human, we started to look around to wonder if we were invisible. At about the 10 minute mark of no welcome, we overheard the waitress expressing to other customers that there was only one cook on duty and that he was back there ticked off and throwing things...eh yeah. So we walked out and gave our $30 to another restaurant. Odd thing was that even as we packed up and started to leave we heard not one word from the staff. We won't be back.

Canned vegetables? Seriously? Unforgivable and inedible. If I wanted canned vegetables, I'd go to an elementary school cafeteria. It seems like the owners/chefs hate vegetables of something... and it would appear their spice rack has the following three items on it: salt, sugar, can-opener. Service is a joke. A friendly joke, but still a joke. 3 different waitresses and they were all ditzes incapable of getting my order right, or getting my wrong order to me in a reasonable amount of time in an virtually-empty dining room. As for ambiance: I love diners - even crappy diners with hideous light fixtures and weird color schemes, but you gotta play music and you gotta be charming in some way to get away with it. Without music, you're left with the echoing of a large space, feeling like you're "too loud" if you talk to your dining companions, and wondering why the hell you've got canned green beans staring at you. Any charm it might have goes out the window with the dummy service and awkwardness of the too-quiet space. Granny Annie's only redeeming feature are her scones (fry bread to you out-of-staters). It's delicious, but it's not worth dealing with everything else... and I really REALLY can't respect a restaurant that can't be bothered to serve edible vegetables, no matter the goodness of their scone. The scone gives them 2 starts, instead of 1 - because I DO think this place could be really good, a solid, fun diner... but the management has got to address the glaring problems they've got going on.

Food: 4.5 stars Service: 1 star I'm sorry to say this, but the Bountiful Granny Annie's is just trashy. The decor is still the exact same as it was when Marie Calendars was there. I can look past that. It's the staff's unprofessional and, again, trashy demeanor. I've had several waitresses there who looked like they just rolled out of bed and also several who seem to care more about gossiping and playing on their phones than offering good service. The only thing that keeps me coming back is the food. The hot beef sandwich is my favorite. Although you can never go wrong with a scone and some SOS. I realize that this is a family-owned establishment, I just wish they'd take more care to be professional .

Second time going to this location, and honestly both times the food was really good. Good portions, good flavor, and huge fried scones like my Grandma use to make. The first time we went they were packed and we did need to wait awhile for service. This time the place was nearly empty and we got very good attention. It's clean, and friendly. Obviously it's family manager with their traditional foods they've always made. Great experience!

Arrived for breakfast. Fast service. We ended up having 3 different servers, but all coordinated fine. Pancakes are delicious and HUGE! Hash browns for fresh potatoes, not frozen, but bland. Basically tasted like a plain baked potato shredded. I had a Denver omelet. Plenty of filling, but all bland. The veggies seemed as if steamed or nuked instead of sauteed. The omelet also looked and tasted like it was steamed or cooked in a microwave. No buttery flavor, no crispy ends, no browning at all. Just a yellow glob with bland veggies inside. We would not return.

Dirty Restaurant needs to be deep cleaned. Super slow - We saw people get up and walk out that had been waiting forever. Food mediocre. Waitress topped my coffee off ONCE while we waited for eons and that was because I called her over to let her know my coffee was empty. Not going back.

This restaurant lacks a bit in the ambiance and service, but the portions are HUGE and food is flavorful. We had the mini veggie omelet with a side of hash browns and toast that easily filled the large plate. We also hade pancakes, scones and egg an cheese omelet. All were tasty. Would recommend.

lol what a joke! I ordered fish and chips.... They came out with a microwaved fish, (a BAG of cheap cheaps) and microwaved canned veggies that are mushy.... No one had uniforms to make it look professional, just some kids off the street. (which would be fine, but their attitudes were poor). I rarely write reviews unless it strikes a nerve like this place did. I would have rather had a tv dinner.
