Good Mexican grub! My buddy had combo burrito and I had the 3 Enchilada verde. The fly was a bit pesky but service good and food nice and tasty.

Overall- solid restaurant. Good quality food and a clean space. We took a chance on this restaurant since we were tired of "roadtrip food". While initially skeptical (early and limited reviews) the food was good. Steak quality was good, the guacamole and rice were legit. Food was not super salty which was a plus. Flavors are a mix of central and coastal (Yucatan) Mexico...not spicy, more on the tangy (chile verde enchiladas) or sweet side (fajitas). Recommend the "Asada signature dish" and the "fajitas". Price was about $13-$15 for each of those dishes. Some of the dishes seemed a little overpriced (burrito about $11-12). We were at 3.5 stars of 5 but since we can't go with half numbers...giving them a 4 since some of the really early reviews are not representative.

Not sure why anyone would give anything less than 5 stars. Friendly staff, good food and a clean place of business. Food was absolutely authentic!

I went here for lunch and must say that food tasted alright, I would come back for taste but portions were kinda small for the price and water tastes very chlorinated. Service was friendly. Over all I would come back here for taste but not after a hard working day because meals won't fill you up just to small.

Great dining option driving along I 15. Stopped in for dinner and food was great, service was fast, and the fried ice cream was the best!

The one "can't miss" restaurant for me when in Beaver. It's simple, straight forward and unpretentious. The fajitas are my top dish, but the rest of the menu is good too - but nothing fancy. There's a limited but satisfying wine list and the chips and salsa served while waiting for a meal are average (but good). They offer a good selection of hot sauces, including a few super hot ones made with Habaneros.

This place must be vindicated! It feels a little odd giving a 5-star review to an establishment that only has two 1-star ratings, but I'm telling you, this place has the best fried ice-cream that I've ever eaten in my entire life! I am originally from Utah and have eaten here a few times over the past several years. Their Mexican food is pretty solid. I don't think it was bland like others have complained about. It wasn't the best Mexican food ever, but it was fresh and hit the spot, especially after a long drive. I recommend to any person who travels through Beaver Utah, you must stop here and try the fried ice cream! It's a giant scoop of ice cream with a fried, crispy glaze of either chocolate, caramel, or honey. It sits in a warm, crispy, sugar coated tortilla and served with whip-cream and a cherry. AMAZING. During a road-trip from California to Utah I would seriously drive an extra 3 hours to go through Beaver just to pick up dessert.

Not bad for what you might expect in south-central Utah. Not the best, but you could do much worse. I had the Burrito Verde - very tasty with plenty of meat (not just rice/bean filler) and a Michelada...you even get the beer of your choice. The first 2 servings of chips and salsa are complimentary, but after that they charge $1.99 for each subsequent serving. Uncommon, but I can see how people could take advantage of the freebies and eat you out of house and home. If I'm hankerin' for Mexican food next time I'm passing through, this is where I'll stop.

Food was bland and service was slow albiet friendly. Ok for a roadside quicky but don't get your hopes up. Taco meat was watery and tasteless but pork tamale was good.

I'd give it no star but I can't. It was late, we were hungry, and we still had another few hours to get home. To sum it up, the food is bland and does not taste fresh. It IS edible :-) and the staff was friendly. Note to self: trust your fellow yelpers when you see a 1 star and more than 1 review... You've been warned.

A buddy and I wanted mexican food so we thought we would try this place out and ended up being very disapointed! It took awhile for someone to greet us, took 5 to 10 minutes for our drinks to get to our table and then there was maybe 10 to 15 chips for chips and salsa and the salas was gone just like that after 15 chips max. I got a chicken and a ground beef enchaldias not much flavor, I ended up just adding some hot sause to get some flavor. The Burritto my friend had was huge but once again he said there was no flavor and it was the worst burritto he had ever had. It was a little expensive for what you get.

This is a great place to stop--we've started planning our trips from SLC to points south around scheduling dinner here. The food is fantastic and the service has been good and efficient no matter the number of people. Get some chips and salsa to go. They can't be beat. Anything with the shredded beef is my favorite. The shrimp diablo made with chicken instead of shrimp is my husband's. The chili rellano is fantastic. The owner started as a chef in Beverly Hills and their loss is the gain of any I-15 traveler!

Maybe a little harsh, since it is beaver, but this place is somewhat average or maybe slightly below average. I think Ricardo's which is a total hole in the wall is way better than this place. Really unfortunate to say since I wish there were more options in the area.

Great for a roadside restaurant. They get the flavor of the enchilada sauce just right, although the amount of cheese on their fajitas is excessive. They manage to keep the chicken moist and tender. Too many restaurants utterly fail at doing that. A charming quirk of Kan Kun is the bevy of local humor books adorning each table. An author named Ben Gordon wrote the entire Truth About Life series, which includes a Guide to Geezerhood. The food is cooked on order, so the books make pleasant entertainment while you wait the 10-15 minutes.

Seems like this is the type of place that's rated "yes" or a "no". Either the reviews seem really good or else really bad. Today's lunch of chili verde was excellent - flavors and heat. Our waitress "April" was good humored seeing that it is April Fool's Day. Definitely, I'd stop in again.

The grilled shrimp with onion and garlic was excellent, and the guacamole was very good. We also really enjoyed a cherry empanada with old fashioned vanilla ice cream. I would definitely eat here again.

We ordered three imported beers that were listed as menu price as $3.79. Once we got the check they charged us $6 a piece. No where on the menu did it say our beer was anymore than $3. The manager came out an explained it was more alcohol content it costs more to serve this beer. I told him thts fine but its not what his menu says and that this is false advertisement. As a server for six years this is unexceptible. His menu listed it imported beers as $3.79 and I told him that's what I expect to pay. He told us "people like you" should not come to this place and that "people like you" have never come here before. I'm sorry if the people that come in there don't read the menu prices but I am always aware of what I'm ordering. On top of that we got the wrong meal that had to be taken back to be fixed. Stay far away from this place. If a manager disrespects its customers, how do you think he treats his employees? I have never EVER been so disappointed with a restaurant in my life. I will never ever go back. Poor management and horrible service.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
