We stopped here for lunch after a morning of phenomenal Spring skiing. The restaurant was moderately busy but the service kept up with demand. My husband was anxious to get back out on the slopes, so he was a bit impatient waiting for his veggie burger. It was ready before my fish tacos and he was eyeing it so the waitress brought it for him. The staff were great about it, joking that there our no friends on a powder day. Too true. Apparently there is no such thing as preferential treatment for wives either. My fish tacos arrived a short time later and were definitely worth the wait.the tilapia was perfect; light and flaky and delicately seasoned. I opted for potato salad instead of fries and was delighted to find it very tasty. My loving husband took off after installing his burger which he said was delicious and one of my three tacos. The staff were very apologetic about my meal coming out so much later that they offered to buy me a brownie. It was very generous and if wasn't absolutely content and dated from my tacos, I certainly would have taken them up on the offer. If you are looking for a break and some good eats, give this place a shot. They don't disappoint.

Boy, 2 stars may be pushing it for this review. Even though they were practically dead, it took us nearly 80 minutes to get a table outside for 6 people. I had biscuits and gravy, with 2 eggs, hashbrounds and it was $15. Very dry biscuits and the gravy wasn't much better. Would think $5 was probably more than it was worth. On the positive the grey goose bloody mary was only $7, but I couldn't taste any alcohol. Not sure if it really had the vodka in it or not. Also, I was able to get a discounted tram ticket using my receipt, so that was a good thing. The overpriced menu was expected at a resort like this, but the food quality compared to a cheap buffet, that was not expected. Wish I had better things to say....

Holy sh*t what a disaster our breakfast was. Not sure what happened since the last time we were here but this place needs to get its act together. Service was average to non existent, food took FOR. EV. ER to come out and we weren't the only ones looking around after 30+ mins of waiting. When our food does come, it's cold and my husband's had a nice hair on it. Somehow they were able to make him a new plate in less than 5 minutes though, amazing! Luckily I got the granola and yogurt so it didn't matter if it was cold. It was alright but you could get the same thing for less money at any grocery store. Not sure what was going on when we came but they must be understaffed or under managed or something because it was just not working. After that first breakfast, we didn't come back again during our entire trip and usually we will come at least 2-3 times so it definitely left a bad taste in everyone's mouth. Try again next year!

For a ski lodge this place is tops. Not the cafeteria heat lamp cuisine that you may expect... I went for the blue plate special both days and was very happy by service and food (for a ski lodge ;) )

Great spot for brunch. My family and I love to make the trip up little cottonwood for this place. Winter or summer, it's always a good time. Whether we're eating out on the patio or inside next to the fireplace, it's always been good. I love the views and ski/resort vibe. The prices are fair and the staff are super friendly and cultured. Check it out!

Came here the other day after scootering down the mountain. Decided to eat here because it was nearby. We were seated very quick, but I'm pretty sure there was only one waitress and one hostess helping to run the food. Got the French Dip. Nothing to write home about. The sauce was clearly made from a powder. It was SO SALTY. The fries were good though. I also wouldn't get their lemonade again. Too sweet. My boyfriend's fish and chips were good. I think there should have been at least another person working the patio. We waited for more than 10 minutes for our check and when we got it, we took it to the hostess because we were tired of waiting.

Like ski trail maps, I give four stars to forklift purely as a relative to the mountain. Relative to my other reviews forklift is 2.5 stars at best. Let's face it. No one comes to snowbird or alta for the night life or cuisine. Quite frankly it sucks. Forklift is the closest spot for sit down dining to the lift. At the base of snowbird center, forklift is great for bfast (go to aerie on 10 if you are staying at cliff lodge) and good for a leisurely lunch. If you are looking to do laps on the mountain. Avoid forklift. It could seem glacially slow.

They were clearly having some kitchen issues yesterday. We were seated next to the kitchen and heard them discuss confusion about what was ordered and what each order included. My eggs benedict was pretty in edible. The poached egg was severely undercooked and the prosciutto was gross. Whole stems of basil were hidden under the eggs. The dill hash browns were the only thing edible but still not great. I do not understand the cult following. I would not go back.

I can't lie, I was expecting more for Snowbird. This was an overpriced greasy spoon diner experience. The food was ok an it solved the problem of our hunger, but I don't think I'd come here again, though there aren't a ton of choices up here in the morning. The other restaurant one level below the Forklift is a true cafeteria style place and we really wanted a nice, romantic sit-down meal. I was glad they had a vegetarian option for burgers, and even a mushroom sandwich, which I had. I was pretty disappointed with the food quality overall. It was mostly flavorless save for some well placed fattening aioli. The biggest thing that bugged me was that we were seated at a table squashed between two occupied tables and there wasn't even room for me to pull out my chair all the way to sit down, and I was in a huge fluffy coat, to. The entire other side of the restaurant was unoccupied, yet they felt the need to pack us in like sardines on the side where the sun was shining right in our faces through the window. Yeah...

i love their apres ski deal! their ribs are excellent, even for a regular restaurant (and phenomenal for a resort). didn't try anything else there, but if their other food is as good as their ribs, then this place would sit in the upper echelons of ski resort food *anywhere*.

pwer breakfasts are a must before skiing. The forklift restuarant is well situated before the ski lift.... No irony in it's name! The breakfast selection is fantastic. The Italian egg Benedict were nicely poached eggs served on top of cooked prosciutto and basil all resting on top of toasted egg mc muffin. The hollandaise sauce was requested on the side because you never know with these heavy cream sauces. The dill flavored hash browns are a house speciatly. They were fantastic. Cholula spicy sauce has made it out to Utah, and she married well with the dill hash browns. They offered an interesting oatmeal cream brûlée combo. Oatmeal was cooked with bananas, walnuts and carmelized brown sugar. A bit of warmth, sweet and health in every bite. The spanish omelette was fantastic: hearty sausage chunks, not the oily greasy kind mixed well with the sauteed bell peppers and onions, wrapped up in a fluffy omelette. On a separate occasion had the all egg white garden omelete,,, really good as well.

Breakfast is the meal to have here. Massive breakfast burrito or eggs as you like. Tons of hash browns with dill. At first it seemed like too much dill, but it grew on me. Lunch was better than average but not outstanding. They cook all meat to medium well. Boo.

I've only had their breakfast here but we agreed it was delicious and definitely comparable to LA standards lol. Huge portions, breads were all served fresh and warm (I hate getting a cold english muffin or toast with my eggs), and excellent service. You can come here for breakfast before jumping on the tram to the slopes right next door or renting your gear.

I like to stay at Snowbird off season, when its affordable and a great getaway 'staycation'. Although its only a 30 min drive from home, it feels like I'm miles and miles away. I enjoy eating at the Forklift. They serve only breakfast and lunch. I've eaten both inside and out; its cozy in the fall to sit inside near the fireplace, and gaze off into the forest through the full glass windows. Sitting outside in the sun in the early morning is lovely too, though your 'view' becomes mainly the climbing wall and other things happening on the deck. I've eaten only one item, because i love it: the eggs benedict. They serve it 'a la caprese', with fresh basil and tomato topping the egg, meat and english muffin with the rich benedict sauce on top. Its so good. mmmmm.

This is the second conference I have attended offseason (summer/fall) in Snowbird and I've eaten here for both breakfast (brulee oatmeal) and lunch (French dip). The location, views, and service are great and the food is above - while the prices are lower than - what you would expect.

Is it possible to give no stars or negative stars? The food here fits in perfectly with the food at Snowbird - terrible. Breakfast at Denny's is better. It is basically a greasy spoon diner. Go to Alta and find breakfast or go hungry.

  • Beej C.

3.5. Slightly better than "A OK" am hedging slightly because of consistency issues in past although are last few visits (we come maybe once or twice a year) have been good. Rather limited menu ( perhaps they have a slow season menu? I didn't see their classic pile o potatoes with cheese etc). But the scrambled eggs, bacon and french toast were freshly made and quite acceotable. Patio is very pleasant and interior has well maintained 70s ambiance. Prompt and friendly service.

Probably the better of the restaurants I've been to at Snowbird. I've come to find that Snowbird is not where you go for a great meal...The resort has the monopoly and they know they can get by with crappy food. I went here for breakfast and had the hashbrown dish with a over medium egg and it was decent. Meh... The service was pretty great! I always had a full cup of coffee!

    (3)
  • Ashley N.

For the resort breakfast, this would be my first suggestion over the buffet. The food portions are huge and definitely worth the dollar bills than the buffet, which I think is a tad overpriced. When I came here, we sat in the corner which overlooked the river/creek...it was beautiful! I had the western omlette which came with a heaping pile of dill hash browns and four pieces of toast. This was a giant breakfast for $14!! The coffee was always full and the staff was nice. Great place right in the center of all of the activities. Be sure to check out the tram ride after breakfast - stunning views!

    (3)
  • Alethea M.

1:45 mins to get served. They said 15 min wait... We arrived at 10:20 to get breakfast and it was after 11 before we were sat then after noon before we were served our food. Pathetic! They said they have a crew of only 3 in kitchen. The staff was very nice, did the best they could under circumstances however, Snowbird should shut down the restaurant and renovate to properly handle the volume they get... Don't remember a single reasonable experience at Forklift in over 1o years. We are DONE with giving Forklift our money. This meal should have been completely comped!!

    (1)
  • BJ M.

There are not many options to eat or grab an après drink so I wish so much this place was better. But sadly - it's not. While the wait stuff is friendly - the service is so bad I can't believe it. Food takes forever to come out, they don't check on the tables, they don't clear old food or plates from the tables, they get the orders wrong - you name it. If I was the owner I would be appalled- because they are throwing money out the window. I hope it gets better.

Looking for a place to warm up over a hearty breakfast or lunch? Come to Forklift. We came here on the last morning of our visit and I wish we had come across it sooner. They have a good variety of hot breakfast items - i.e. omelettes, breakfast burrito, oatmeal, waffles, French toast, whole wheat pancakes, a signature breakfast dish - 'Dave's Power Spuds' - onion-dill hash browns with mushroom, applewood-smoked bacon & cheese, and they also have cold items - fruit, granola and yogurt. I had a bite of the Power Spuds. They were delicious, and as expected a bit greasy. Giant portions. If you'd like a preview of their menus: Breakfast: snowbird.com/imagelib/di… Lunch: snowbird.com/imagelib/di… Desserts: snowbird.com/imagelib/di… Beer, wine and cocktails also served. Hours: Breakfast: 7:30a - 11a Lunch: 11:30 - 2:30p Forklift is located on the top level of the Snowbird Activity Center. The dining area has a beautiful view of the mountain.

Among the top continental breakfasts in my 30 short years on the planet. I'm still trying to master the dill homefries now months after my visit in January. Omlette was fluffy and perfectly cooked, loaded with fresh and nicely seasoned toppings. Service was attentive and friendly. The guy asked if he could warm up our coffees every other pass on the table. They have a cool indoor firepit where you can carefully dry off your gloves and scarves. I don't wanna go overboard, but I felt like the line cooks in the kitchen actually love what they do, because I could taste it in the food.
