We stopped here for lunch after a morning of phenomenal Spring skiing. The restaurant was moderately busy but the service kept up with demand. My husband was anxious to get back out on the slopes, so he was a bit impatient waiting for his veggie burger. It was ready before my fish tacos and he was eyeing it so the waitress brought it for him. The staff were great about it, joking that there our no friends on a powder day. Too true. Apparently there is no such thing as preferential treatment for wives either. My fish tacos arrived a short time later and were definitely worth the wait.the tilapia was perfect; light and flaky and delicately seasoned. I opted for potato salad instead of fries and was delighted to find it very tasty. My loving husband took off after installing his burger which he said was delicious and one of my three tacos. The staff were very apologetic about my meal coming out so much later that they offered to buy me a brownie. It was very generous and if wasn't absolutely content and dated from my tacos, I certainly would have taken them up on the offer. If you are looking for a break and some good eats, give this place a shot. They don't disappoint.
Boy, 2 stars may be pushing it for this review. Even though they were practically dead, it took us nearly 80 minutes to get a table outside for 6 people. I had biscuits and gravy, with 2 eggs, hashbrounds and it was $15. Very dry biscuits and the gravy wasn't much better. Would think $5 was probably more than it was worth. On the positive the grey goose bloody mary was only $7, but I couldn't taste any alcohol. Not sure if it really had the vodka in it or not. Also, I was able to get a discounted tram ticket using my receipt, so that was a good thing. The overpriced menu was expected at a resort like this, but the food quality compared to a cheap buffet, that was not expected. Wish I had better things to say....
Holy sh*t what a disaster our breakfast was. Not sure what happened since the last time we were here but this place needs to get its act together. Service was average to non existent, food took FOR. EV. ER to come out and we weren't the only ones looking around after 30+ mins of waiting. When our food does come, it's cold and my husband's had a nice hair on it. Somehow they were able to make him a new plate in less than 5 minutes though, amazing! Luckily I got the granola and yogurt so it didn't matter if it was cold. It was alright but you could get the same thing for less money at any grocery store. Not sure what was going on when we came but they must be understaffed or under managed or something because it was just not working. After that first breakfast, we didn't come back again during our entire trip and usually we will come at least 2-3 times so it definitely left a bad taste in everyone's mouth. Try again next year!

Reviews:
As with any restaurant located at a ski resort, amusement park or any other place where unprepared tourists congregate, the food at the Albion Grill is grossly overpriced and leaves much to be desired. However, we suck it up and pay and eat anyway because we're on vacation and were too lazy to make our own sandwiches this morning. The Albion Grill is (I believe) the only restaurant located at the Alta base. All the other restaurants are located mid-mountain. They have your typical cheeseburgers, chicken fingers, heat lamp warmed pizza, deli sandwiches and cookies in a cafeteria style setting. The first day we got a hamburger, 2 cheeseburgers, 1 fries, chicken fingers with fries, and 1 beer for a grand total of.... $40.55! The food really is actually pretty edible. In fact there was a guy there who purchased 2 huge bags of granola, saying it was the best granola EVER and that he was going to send it to his kids. I also have to say the cashier lady was very nice. My dad gave me $40 to go buy the food and when I was 55 cents short she borrowed it out of the tip jar. Thank you cashier lady for not making me run back outside awkwardly in my ski boots to get the rest!
I prefer the spectacular view over at Alf's, but Albion Grill is conveniently located at the base of the Sunnyside Lift and is close to some other stuff (bootfitter) in the Albion Day Lodge that makes it a place I sometimes stop for a huge glass of water to replace everything I've breathed out while out on the mountain skiing. These days, they charge you for the cup to put your water in, but at least it's a type of plastic that can be composted. In one corner, you'll find Peak Photo.
The smell of the grill lures you inside to enjoy some warm comfort food during a day of skiing. I had the Swiss burger and really enjoyed it. Simple a bit old fashioned place but this is part of the charm of alta ski resort
