First visit to Gringo's was great. Me and my wife were looking for some local places since we moved to Rosenberg. We really enjoyed every part of the night. We went around 5:30p and there was no wait. Our waitress was sweet and helped us very quickly. Our food came out super fast and was hot and everything looked fresh. The chips and queso were very good and very fresh. I had the fish tacos and it was grilled very well and was flavorful -- not fishy! At the end of our time they asked if they could box up our left overs. A small thing but made it feel like a nicer place because of their customer service.

If you're going in the weekends set aside a few hours. If you're going on a weekday, still set aside some time. This place is slow, but the fajitas are good. Most of the food is good. I'm not a fan of the margaritas, but if you're going for just food you won't be disappointed. The queso is good, and the fajitas are reasonably priced. I'll be back for sure!

If you come here, you should already know that you are eating at a chain Mexican restaurant, and therefore are making some sacrifices over eating at an independently-owned restaurant, namely that everything probably is not homemade. With that said, this is probably one of the most decent and consistent chain Mexican restaurant experiences I have had. This is my go-to place in Rosenberg, as the food is always good. The wait staff is also always kind, attentive, and seem to enjoy their jobs, and working as a team. You can tell that the staff is happy because many have been there over a long period of time. Thank you Gringo's for bringing some decent food, and a nice environment to the area. Oh, and the margaritas definitely do not hurt this review. The main disappointment is that they close so early (9:30), but I am sure that is on par for the area, and it would not be lucrative for them to be open much later, so I do understand.

The food is watered down that's for sure to the salsa and enchiladas. My plate the enchiladas weren't even holding together it was very disappointing. So we went back for another try tonight I know an a Saturday it usually a long long wait but we only waited 10mins for a table. Food was great salas actually stayed on the chips, enchiladas AMAZING and hot. My kids ate everything they said it was good, way to step your game up very impressed this time, we'll will definitely be back for more.

We come here regularly. Their green sauce is a family favorite. My extended family requests it every time they come in town. The free ice cream cones are also great. The flavor of their food puts them by far the best tex-mex in the city. I like the fajitas and their custom enchiladas with flour tortillas and queso. The service and food delivery could be faster.

The polo marisco or however you might spell that is so freaking good! This isn't the best overall Mexican pace ever but that dish is fantastic

Excellent staff, great bartenders and reasonable prices. Food is always consistent and the service rocks Salvador and Marcus always take care of me at the bar and if ANYTHING is ever less than perfect, it's taken care of. This is my 'go to' place for margaritas and fajitas.

Quick meal for my kiddos. The waitresses were very attentive. And the ice cream....pretty sure that's why my kids like it so much!

Always great time every time my family and I go out for dinner. My wife loves they're drinks and I always get the tacos carbon.

The best place to eat in the area! Food comes out fast and is always really good! Service is always 5 star! If your gonna pay the money, this is the place to go to and not be disappointed. I recommend to all.

Very good Tex Mex! The fajitas are very good. Ice cold beer. Nice atmosphere. Very close to real Mexican food.

Honestly is it that difficult to seat a party of eight? Thank you for trying to cram 6 adults and two little children into a boot that looked uncomfortable for 4 people. Left this place and went to La Casona. Accomodated our party without issues. Gringos kept saying the tables were only good for 7 when the sign said good for 8.

Fish tacos: 3/5 - they stuff the tacos with a good amount of fish. I liked the addition of the cucumber salad on the side. The rice was nice and fluffy. The vegetarian black beans were certainly missing that lard flavor. I had to add salt for any flavor. The chipotle mayo tasted a bit bitter - I would opt for one of the ranch options next time. Tortilla soup: 1/5 - this was not hearty at all and should have been for nearly $6 for a cup. It was half filled with rice and hardly any chicken. The corn on the cob was a nice touch as it reminded me of my MIL's chupe. The $1 extra for avocado slices was worth it. The chips and salsa (red and creamy green) were very good. The free soft serve ice cream is always a nice touch on your way out.

Yummy... If you don't mind waiting on Friday or Saturday nights! We go about once ever two weeks and I usually order the seafood enchiladas. They are so good and flavorful! The flautas are awesome, too. Hubbs usually gets the bacon wrapped shrimp and always finishes his plate. Son gets the kid's cheese quesadilla and those are pretty good. Their green sauce is muy delicioso. Holy moly, I could put it in a glass and drink it with a straw! Maybe I will do that next time I go. Staff is friendly, keeps the drinks full and the chips coming! Even the soft serve is great (I get the swirl). But it is usually a 30 minute wait on Friday or Saturday nights, so be ready for that!

Stopped in for lunch today. I had the chicken fajita bowl which was DELICIOUS. My friend ordered the crispy tacos plate - those tacos were very big and filled to the brim Our server Oscar was very friendly and personable

Super yummy and fast!! I always order the traditional crunchy taco plate and it's very good! Great customer service and they constantly keep chips and salsa on the table.

First off, I'm from Rosenberg and this place will always have a special place in my heart as the restaurant that saved us from having an On The Border in our fair city. That place was gone within a year or two of opening. Gringo's has been here about 6 as of this writing. While Gringo's may be a chain, it's a local one and their people seem to be in touch with the customer more so than with most other places I've been. I've never been disappointed with meals here. While the red and green sauces are good, they're not my all-time favorites. Meals, however, are tops. Portions are generous for just about everything. I've been able to bring family and friends to this location over the years and each time they've gotten great service. Among the top selections on my list when I bring out-of-towners to my hometown. And really, if all else fails with the visitors- get 'em a soft serve cone on the way out. Who doesn't love a frozen treat?

Sweet place for lunch!!! I flew in for a meeting in Rosenberg tx. And found this place across the street. It was very busy at normal lunch hours and I arrived about 3:30 and still somewhat busy!!! I had the chips and salsa which was good and a fajita bowel!!! Great and tasty!!!!

  • SueAnn S.

The service was non-existent. The table was never cleared of dirty dishes or empty drinks. We were never asked if we needed more chips or dip. Had to ask for a second drink. Had to ask for the check. Food was good. Service deplorable. This was at 1:30 on a weekday.

Overall a solid dinner experience with some short comings that keep it from being a consistent five star experience. I've eaten at this Gringo's many times and the food is by far it's strength. A good size menu with a variety of choices to pick from. If you like Mexican/texmex you can't go wrong eating here food wise. The coin toss (like a lot of places unfortunately) when eating here is who serves you. Some are great being both kind and knowledgeable while others are half and half with the worst of the bunch lacking both. I deducted a star for this because you can easily leave with a bad taste in your mouth simply due to the wait staff. Also deducted one star for my various experience at their bar area. Drinks are far from top of the line and way over priced for what you get. If you looking for a good Mexican food place I'd recommend this Gringo's, but I'd avoid the high priced drinks and go into it knowing the wait staff might be less than stellar at times.

  • Paula R.

Absolutely love this place don't hesitate to go here you can never go wrong with their food. Anything you order will be just perfect. Their service overall is pretty good. I love this place!

  • Lawrence V.

Ordered to go for the family, fajitas we're good and they packed the food very neatly and really cared and asked if I needed condiments, plates etc. I liked that , since many places really don't ask you anymore, and nothing worse than getting home and finding out you forgot salsa, or missing something from your order. The waitress actually took out everything to double check I had everything without me asking her to.

  • Bethany J.

This place is ridiculous! It may have good foods, but that doesn't make up for horrible service. I'm currently waiting for my to go order and it's been 40 minutes already and no sight of them.

  • Tiffany C.

A Tex-Mex restaurant with an unlimited soft serve machine? Weird, but I would have to admit that it works. Especially on me. I've come here a couple times for lunch on Sundays and have stuck with ordering the combo fajitas each time. They're good, but Lupe's still has my favorites. There are a ton of other options on the menu though and they all come in good portions. The restaurant is clean and service is quick, but sometimes too quick. There have been instances where it felt like we were being rushed out before we were ready to leave. Other than that, all my experiences here have been fine and I have always looked forward to getting my dose of Tex-Mex & ice cream.

GRANGO'S! That's what I call it ;) I love Gringo's for their family/friend environment and most of all, THE CADILLAC MARGARITA! Oh the food's awesome too lol. The most recent time I went I got the bbq pork quessadillas. I didn't think they were gonna be as good as they were but Gringo's food never dissapoints and the green sauce is really creamy and addictive. Before you realize it, it's all gone but they do a great job of making sure you never reach the bottom before giving you more. I went to a place where you actually had to pay for more chips and salsa, I know right? Absurd smh. They have an ice cream machine in the front so when you leave you can make yourself an ice cream cone on the go. I think this is supposed to appeal to the children but I, along with other adults always get a cone on the way out. But back to those margaritas tho. Those things are lethal! But in a good way of course. They have happy hour M-F however I'm unsure of the exact time but regular price is around $6. I would strongly suggest only 1, 2 max. If you want to go for casual drinks sometimes with a friend(s) and you like it on the stronger side, this will definitely be the place. The offer many other types of margaritas as well too.

I like the music and atmosphere of the restaurant. I love the queso dip with jalapeños. Quesadillas are good but Grilled fish tacos are the best and off course make the kids happy with a free ice cream!

My party of three really enjoyed our dining experience at our recent visit to this wonderful restaurant. We shared the Summer Special Plate and the Plato Rodriguez and everything was very tasty. The chips and two salsas are so good that it can be a meal by itself while enduring adult beverages. The Mexican Hurricane and Ti Juana Twister are excellent drinks. Karie was our server last night and we probably experienced the best service that we have ever experienced at this wonderful restaurant and that is saying a lot since we have visited this restaurant many times. This is one of the few times that I did not get to enjoy the Beef Fajitas Plate with Charros Beans. They probably serve the best Beef Fajitas in the Fort Bend area.

The best ever! Gringo's is so good, all the time! My mother comes to visit from California quite often and she loves going here to eat as do I, and yes I can speak for her..... :)) It's just amazing, service and all.

Never been here before, but decided to give it a try. I was expecting your typical chain Mexican restaurant (that is "meh"), but was very happily surprised. The complimentary chips were hot, the salsa and creamy cilantro/avocado dip were great (and bottomless). I got some queso as well, and appreciated the pickled and fresh jalapeño slices that came with it. For entrees, my wife tried a combo with 4 different things on it (enchiladas, empanadas, etc.), I opted for the smoked pork enchiladas. Everything was very fresh, made with care, and tasted fantastic. I was a little blown away to be honest. The food was far and above what I was expecting. The service was equally impressive. Our glasses were never empty, and our server was very attentive and helpful without being intrusive. A great casual place for excellent food... we will be back.

A bit gringoized, but I'm thoroughly impressed. Good food, good price. I love the queso dip!

Just an update to let everybody know that I messaged my email address to Heather over two weeks ago and have not heard back from anybody at Gringo's. While I applaud her effort to reach out to me about the substandard experience I had I think it should be noted that whomever received my contact information was apparently less interested in addressing my concerns then she was. Given the level of service and food quality I experienced on my visit I can hardly say I'm surprised. Hah the day after I posted this I was contacted and two gift certificates arrived in the mail with in two days of contact. I haven't had a chance to go back yet but when I do I will be sure to update this review. Thank you for getting back to me Gringo's. Shame on you for needing a public complaint to make it happen.

I love this place !!!!! My wife and I go every Friday night after a long week of work. This is our escape place for the week. The food and drinks are excellent. I LOVE The Atmosphere And The Friendly staff. This is a great place to hang out with friends and family.

  • Ana G.

I love this place. I've been here several times and never been disappointed. Food portion is large and hot. Grilled Fajitas and chicken are always perfect. The ribs are awesome! Friendly environment, only thing is you do have to flag a server down for refills but other than that 5 stars from me. Definitely recommend!

Great service. Delicious meal. I rec this place without hesitation. We will definately be back.

  • Vanessa B.

This place gets packed after 6pm, and it seems like that for any night of the week. I got here most recently at 6:30 on a Thursday and there was no parking and a 30 minute wait. Gringos always has consistent food and service so I'll always come back though!

    (4)
  • R B.

Food was good, but their salsa was great. Staff was friendly, very attentive and accommodating, good place for families. They have free ice cream at end of meals.

Update: Gringos touched base with me and we talked about my visit. I appreciate the great customer service! Stars going up. Always good food and inviting atmosphere when I go. But they need some work on meal delivery. Came in with my 7 and 9 year old while I was getting the oil changed at Firestone. Looking forward to just chilling out for an hour as we had been running around since 5:30am. Ordered appetizer (queso) and then ordered the meal a few minutes later (kids cheese enchilada and regular fajitas). Unfortunately, again, the meal came out 5 to 7 minutes after the appetizer. This happens too often when I come there. Give me at least 12 to 15 minutes. I know that you want to turn the table around but I am there to relax, not to be rushed. Ask me how soon I want the meal. Don't bring the meal while I am pouring cheese on my chips with jalepenos. And as I said with "again", this is a constant battle. There was one time where I received the queso appetizer and literally 3 minutes later the meal arrived. Slow down! Your food is good but you are pushing me to go where I am not rushed!!! Fix your delivery and my stars will go up.

We come to gringos a lot. It's one of places we know we will leave happy. The food and service is usually spot on. I once had a dish that came out cold and the manager had it remade and taken off my bill which was great service as I wasn't really too bothered by it- I just wanted my food to be hot! He was very apologetic and he took care of it lightening fast! It was so nice to see they took it seriously! All the wait staff here is very professional and well trained and it's nice to see as they are mostly younger folks;-)

  • Kelvin P.

Ok! I know real Mexican food and I really hate to say it but this place isn't very authentic. The enchiladas reminded me of an el patio tv diner. The atmosphere was top notch and the service was great! I would come back just for those reasons, but if you want real Mexican food I'd stay away.

    (3)
  • Megan L.

Seriously some of the better tex-mex around. The food is very good and they explain things in detail so that you know what is in the food. The wait can be very long and delivery is a little longer than preferred. But, otherwise, very worth it.

Something has changed here. We just received the best service ever in the Houston area. Our waiter was friendly but not chummy, there when we needed him and not there when we didn't. (That's all we ask, but it's hard to get around here.) And from appearances everyone was getting the same high level of service. Food was OK (*just* OK - that's why just four stars), and their sanitation rating is up to an "A." Plato Rosita - small amount of guacamole, tostada a little light on the beans, cheese enchiladas pretty plain vanilla, rice hardly seasoned, black beans the best part. Queso pretty good, served cutey in a tortilla bowl. Flour tortillas just OK - nice texture, not too much taste. Get there early - we arrived just before 5PM, just in time to see the hordes rush in. This made the place *very* loud, but at least the people seemed to have some class (not always true around here - see my review of Olive Garden). Prices wonderful, at least at the time we were there - I guess it was happy hour. House frozen margarita with a shot of Gran Marnier for $5 - wow! They were good margaritas, too. Even with a donation for St. Jude, our bill came out to considerably less than usual for us in a Mexican restaurant. So we were able to throw a lot of money at our waiter in gratitude! I sure hope this change is permanent and consistent. This place will get a lot of my money if so.

First time at Gringos. Grandson picked here for his birthday dinner (he has been here before). Friendly staff. Clean and comfortable environment. Excellent food (I had the grilled fish tacos). Our server, Jonathan, made the evening enjoyable an brought the party feel to the birthday boy. We will be back again.

Yes, it's as good as it gets! There is Tex-Mex and Mex-Tex and Mex-Mex and Gringo's falls somewhere between Tex-Mex and Mex-Tex. Here's the blueprint. Located in a shopping complex just off Highway 59 in Rosenberg, Gringo's sports a very large parking lot and easy access. We had no problem getting a table at lunchtime and the place was busy, but large and well-staffed. The decor is cool and the place is comfortable. I could have had lunch there, taken a nap in the booth and done dinner, too. The menu is extensive and has something for everyone from a light lunch to a meal that will hold you all day long, and maybe a day later. I chose a "sampler" combination: cheese enchilada, beef enchilada, rice, beans, taco al carbon and pork tamale and my wife opted for the fish tacos. The preparation was outstanding and the flavors and sauces plate-scrape-worthy. The enchilada sauce was thick and tasty without being bitter and the taco al carbon was packed with tender chunks of grilled beef, no gristle. Did I say packed? Packed. I could have had an adequate lunch just from one of those tacos. My wife's fish tacos came grilled or fried, she opted for grilled and the chipotle sauce was tangy but not too sweet. Three tacos were more than enough to fill her up and she had beans and rice to boot. Bottom line: I could eat here every day and I may set that as a resolution for July, to try every item on the menu. Gringo's is an outstanding value for the money especially as you can get bad Tex-Mex and Mex-Tex for the same price elsewhere. If I had three thumbs I'd give it three thumbs up. Oh, wait, my wife! OK, we give Gringo's FOUR THUMBS UP. Tell them "Doc" Bill sent you and you'll get the reply, "Who?"

Yumm! I moved away from Houston/Austin two years ago and every time I come back I HAVE to visit Gringo's to get my fill of delicious Tex-Mex! You cannot go wrong ordering at this place, the food is always incredible and the tortillas are some of the best I have ever had! I've been so pleased with them that I am having my wedding rehearsal held here (Stafford location, though)!

  • Jacob M.

Gringos is great! This restaurant it's very consistent and well managed. The menu is very unique for Tex mex. I love all of the meals that have the pulled pork. Also the seafood enchiladas are great. If the line is long that is ok. I just eat the free ice cream cone first. Fair prices.

  • Kristy S.

Great fajitas and chicken fruit salad. I love that they have a seperate drive thru pick up section. Pretty Fast service at the to-go section. We eat their fajitas every Thursday. I haven't eaten inside this location, always to-go but I have eaten inside the lactation close to 59 and he fountains.

  • Hipolito G.

I really like this place. The food is really good and the service is great even at times when they are packed. I always get the citrus tea. They have the best tortilla soup I have tried in a long time and you should also try the tacos al carbon.

  • Jeff C.

I love everything on the menu! This is one of two Gringos that actually makes the bacon wrapped shrimp crispy! Simply outstanding. The servers are friendly and I like the location. Checkout the Cadillac when you visit. But get there before 5 unless you want to wait in line.

    (5)
  • Kara K.

ok so first I must mention the green sauce....its to die for! Its worth the trip alone to try this. Beef Fajitas are amazing. If you go on a weekend, be prepared to go early or know that you are going to be in for a wait. We go there as often as we can.

Delicious food! I ordered the fish tacos and they were perfect. The chips and salsas were awesome too. The ice cream everyone can get at the end of their meal hit the spot.

  • Salim G.

Good quality of food, great service. The server checked on us regularly even though she looked pretty new. The manager also came by and checked on us. The restaurant it self is very clean and the decor is real pleasant. My wife and sister are a fan of the tortilla soup, the avocados are ripe and fresh and the fajitas are a good quality skirt steak properly cooked. Only wish they had more spicier salsa and maybe wheat tortillas... The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the ice cream machine. It wasn't very good quality ice cream.

I tried to reply to Heather's (Gringo's rep) comment about my posting, but for some reason it wouldn't go thru. So here's an update. Earlier, I had written an email to Gringo's about our issues and received a reply back. I was offered a coupon/certificate to return to Gringo's. I declined the offer stating my intentions were never to get a free meal or dessert. I was reassured the issue would be brought to the attention of this particular Gringo's manager. I feel like service and food preparation can be improved. However, employees' attitude about keeping the establishment clean will not change. Bottom line is, the bus boy shouldn't have given us a WTF attitude and the manager shouldn't have laughed about it when I told him. I'm giving Gringo's a 3 star (up from my one star) just because it appears corporate cares about their customers.

Read reviews, Was unsure, because this is a chain. BUT the food was superb. Cannot remember the last time we ordered fajitas - seems so typical tex-mex..and we are from San Antonio. But order the beef fajitas we did. DELICIOUS. Beef tasted great, salsa was fresh - obviously not from a jar. Tortillas tasted "home-made" not mass produced. We ordered Queso as well - because I like to pour melted cheese on my mexican food. Servicewas great. Only downside, it was rather loud. But we enjoyed our meal. Also enjoyed our Cadillac margaritas.

    (5)
  • Luis C.

Delicious food, great atmosphere and friendly staff! The fajitas are amazing and have this unique taste to them that make them stand out from other tex-mex restaurants. We go often as we can and always leave happy.

Let me start by saying that the food was Great. Now for the rest of the story. Service here was less then stellar. First we were seated. it was about 10 min or so before we was even able to place our drink order. We even tried to flag someone down that walked right by our table with my wife's hand practically smacking him in the face while saying hay can we... As he continued to walk right past her requests. Seems he was more interested in the other wait staffs (ladies) attention. Finally my wife went to the bar and asked the bartender if we could get some service. Mind you I don't mind waiting especially when you are busy but this place was not all that busy considering all the workers standing in the corner chit chatting. Some looking right at us. Finally after about 5 more minutes our waiter showed up saying he was sorry and that he was on the other side of the restaurant with other tables. I did not say it but was thinking I don't need excuses I need service. The rest of our stay was much better. BTW: I did not recall a manager stopping by our table asking us how things went either. If he/she did they did not make it known that they were a manager other wise we would have told them our first impressions. As we almost walked out. *****UPDATE****** 03/06/2014 Well its been a while since I posted this review. We have been here several times after this visit. So decided to update the review. After about half a dozen times of coming to this place I found my go to meal I tried the Mexican beef stew. By far the best of anything on the menu. Have yet to try the chicken fried chicken though. But its a TexMex place I can get CFC else where. The Mexican beef stew is extremely flavorful. I only wish you would get a bigger bowl because at $10 you get about a cup of it along with some rice and beans. Which probably makes up about a $1 of the whole meal. Never the less when the wife wants to go here that is what I order now. The service has been better lately but seems like they go through a lot of people as you rarely see the same person twice. Also note that if you order an alcoholic drink you are probably going to get a hot drink. Every time I have ordered a drink here its been extremely over poured I want the drink for the flavor not to get smashed out of my mind. Last drink I tried was the Mexican hurricane before i even got it half gone i was half gone myself. I finished the drink with my meal and I was a bit woozy headed once i got up to leave. In fact I was no shape to drive at all. Lucky for me I had a non drinking wife with me that drove us home.

I love this place! I probably eat here once a week and typically sit at the bar with my hubby. We prefer sitting at the bar for the quick service and to avoid screaming kids. Service provided by the bartenders is usually good but I will say there are some bartenders that I prefer over others. At the end of the day, I could really care less about the service because I love the food. It is my style of tex mex. I am one of those tex mex eaters that need to have red AND green sauce with my chips. This place is just perfect in my book. I know that the GM has a lot to do with why I like this place so much. He looks like he is ex-military always walking around inspecting and he obviously runs a tight ship. The only reason why I bring up the GM is because I use to eat at the Stafford location all the time and it was good but after dinning at the Rosenberg location multiple times and then going back to Stafford, ugh - food was, well, gross. The food didn't seem as fresh and the green sauce was warm. Also, I ate at the new Cypress location by my mom's house bragging about how great Gringo's is and to and I have to say, we really didn't like to food there either. I think what really got me about the Cypress location is that there chips are WAY TOO GREASY, red salsa is too peppery and the fajita meat was just different. I am glad to see Gringo's expanding their locations but the fact that the food at each location is different makes me think twice about eating at a different location.... Gringo's Mexican Kitchen No 9 is actually NUMBER ONE!!!

Be sure to ask for Erin if Karie isn't working. She is also very attentive and caring. I even let her pick the sauce for my frajitas enchiladas. Yummy.

Since my last trip to Gringo's located in Stafford I decided to cut it out of my regular TexMex line up due to bland boredom. However, I arrive at this location and wow is it much better than I remember. Granted I haven't had Gringo's in over 4 years but now that I've moved to the area this place will be a local mainstay for me if I want franchise Mexican that is consistently good. Service is fast, the place gets packed, the food is always oozing fresh with quality cheese and meats. Margaritas keep spilling over and countless of laughs and conversations take place under this roof in Rosenberg!!!

Got a chance to check this place out on my visit to Texas. I went there twice in the span of a few days. I thought the food was decent. I really liked the chips and salsa. The chips were warm, light, and fresh. They serve them with a mild red salsa and with an avocado sauce which was quite tasty. The entrees I tried were alright. The ingredients seemed fresh. They have their happy hour from 2pm to 6pm where you can get 1 dollar drafts and 2.99 house margaritas. It's a decent deal. The problem I had is that games come on tv at 7pm after the Happy Hour is over. To me, the regular prices on drinks were too high while watching the basketball playoffs at the bar. Their premade margaritas were not good, and the handmade cadillac was weak and not very good. I think they could use some improvement on how they run their bar. One thing that was kinda cool is they had free ice cream cones by the exit on the way out the door. Vanilla or Chocolate or a SWIRL! Overall it was a decent place.

Yet another excellent Tex-Mex restaurant! The combo fajitas for two hit the spot. The tortillas were delicious, the meats flavorful, and the tortilla chips addictive. Great service kept the chips and tortillas coming until I couldn't take another bite. Well done!

We frequent Gringos ALOT! I love it, my husband not so much, he prefers making BBQ at home, lol.. The food is usually great( except the tortillas, they seem rubbery) and the house margaritas are awesome! My friend and I sat at the bar once a few months back for appetizers and drinks to begin our girls night out and the bar wouldn't serve us. We had one drink then we were ignored while others were being served. We also noticed workers had "friends" eating and drinking at a table on the bar side and they were serving them drinks very quickly, we even wondered if half of them were 21 because they sure didn't look or act over 21! It was about 8-830 on a Saturday evening so we should have been served and taken care of. We haven't been back to start our girls night out since. My 8 year old hates that's its soooooo loud inside so I call in our order ALOT of times for my family. I order beef fajitas for 3 or 4, a chicken quesadilla and chips and cheese. They usually open the bag and quickly run over what should be in the boxes (Now, I open every box and look myself) they have forgotten the tortillas a few times, and also they forgot to put in our chips when we ordered chips and cheese once. A lot of times I have been given mixed meat when I ALWAYS order all beef. They went over it so quick it didn't register to me that something was wrong or left out. I was so mad when they left out the chips because I got home then I had to leave my food to get cold to run buy chips at the corner store. You should get what you pay for. Overall, So if you like tex-Mex, Gringos is your place but always double check your to go orders and if you are not happy with eat in service ask for management. I wish we would have concerning our girls night because he always takes care of things. We were out to have a nice evening so we just wanted to move on with our night and not complain.

Had lunch with the wife. Reminded us of chilies. Fast and friendly but not spectacularly good but no complaints either.

Hold up now. You are not supposed to get this good of ribs at a Tex Mex place. I was completely blown away by the flavor and portion size of their half rack rib skillet and did not think they would be so huge. Wile this place might be a chain and some of you are put off by chain restaurants. I strongly suggest you eat at Gringo's. I also would recommed you try their Cadillac Margarita as it is sure to make you "feel better".

I was really impressed by this place. We had originally stopped for the name and after find a place which looked more like a Chevy's than a authentic Mexican place but after being served some very tasty salsa and a some sort of delicious sour cream dip for the chips. I had the veggie fajitas which were all together great, and friend raved about the bacon wrapped shrimp. All in all a great meal. p.s. where else can you start and end your meal with soft serve ice cream also.

Wow! What an amazing place to dine at! The decor is bright and inviting. The food is excellent, service has always been top-notch every time I've been, and I have been quite a few times. Hope to see more of these pop up around the U.S.

For the price, you can not go wrong here. I was a little nervous having not been back to Texas for some years. I was afraid that I was going to hit some cheap Tex-Mex joint in pretty clothing. Not the case here. The salsas are great, the food is really good, especially for the price. The quantity will leave you full. Not many places you can eat as well as you do here for around $10.00, including drink. Obviously you can spend a lot more, but you don't have to.

I went to Gringo's last night for the first time and really enjoyed the good and atmosphere! It was packed, but it was a saturday night so that was expected. I had the Pollo Loco and it was great a lot of food for a really reasonable price. My fiancee had the Chicken Chimichanga, and it was of a slightly above standard size. About 7in long and stuffed full of well seasoned chicken. We also had the queso to start which came with fresh and pickled jalapenos. I also had the cactus juice (huge alcoholic drink! very tasty!) All in all the entire meal was about $35. We didnt get any of the free ice cream, but it was mostly from being too stuffed than not offered any. The service was great and friendly and we were well taken care of and left a nice tip for the water (whose name escapes me after the cactus juice lol) I highly reccommend Gringo's to anyone as we had a great time. Awesome Tex-Mex please dont confuse Tex-Mex with real Mexican food. Its two different genres of food.

It's a shame that I have to review this place so low... went on Sunday for lunch and waited to be seated nearly 40 minute after we were told it would be 15-20 minutes. Went to check in once and was told we were next in line... well, liar liar... we watched others get seated first. I went to inquire as to why we were skipped and basically got laughed at by the young girl running the hostess stand. Sad day... the food was pretty good too.

Best fajitas in the history of the universe... No doubt about it. The fajita enchiladas are pretty "change your life delicious" as well.

OK, Mexican food. Nothing special. Other places are better but it is good for a neighborhood haunt with quick service, OK food. I had one lunch meal that was not OK, but that was an anomaly, I think. We go there a couple of times a month.

I have always had great service and great food when I go to this restaurant. The only complaint I have is everyone else knows it too and there is usually a waiting line.

Great food, great service, great management! We frequent Gringo's and have tried many items on the menu. We've not had anything we didn't like. Believe it or not, the burger is the best in the area and the ribs are good too! We really like the bar area, because the whole restaurant is non-smoking. Don't leave without trying the veracruz shrimp.

Of all Mexican restaurants in Houston, this one is tops. The chips and sauces are excellent. The sour cream chicken enchilada are the best. The food at this Gringos is much better than the location in Stafford. I always feel I get my money's worth.

I was really disappointed by Gringo's. The food was very bland and a little plastic tasting. There are much better Tex-Mex restaurants in Rosenberg. I highly suggest you do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
