The food is a little too modernized to be classified as Mexican. It's a little blander than would be expected based of the description in the menu and it's a little pricey for what you get. The atmosphere at this specific Gloria's is hit or miss. The view is amazing and so is the ceviche. Those are really the only two things I go here for.

Delicious food and great service. Portions were generous, well seasoned and flavored. Wait staff was very attentive, kept our water filled, checked in on us and kept us happy. Highly recommend the guacamole. Great with the plentiful chips that kept appearing at the table.

When we moved to Rockwall from Oak Cliff, Gloria's was one of the places we missed the most, so we we were really excited when they opened one out here right on the lake. The feel of this restaurant is different from the original but thats not all bad because it definitely fits in with attitude and lifestyle of Rockwall. The food is excellent, I will agree with the other review by saying be sure to order from the Salvadorian menu, there are better Tex Mex places out there but no one beats Gloria's when it comes to Salvadorian food. The black bean dip with the chips is a meal of itself, and the Carne Asada is really authentic. It is a great place for a date or the family. Check it out!

Food is always yummy and service is good! Great margaritas too ! I love the black bean dip with the chips n salsa. We ordered steak fajita quesadillas and they were so flavorful. I also ordered a side of rice since it didn't come with it and I love their rice. I was happy, kids were happy, baby was happy! This location is the best because of the beautiful view of The Harbor (Lake Ray Hubbard ). I used to take my husband here all the time when we were dating, after dinner u can go for a walk around the lighthouse and sit out there and talk. It's beautiful!

Now that Zanata has gone into decline, this is the best restaurant in Rockwall. Consistent quality. Professional service. And you can't beat the view!

Excellent location at The Harbor, very busy but great food and service. Good margaritas as well. Thumbs up.

I have been to this restaurant many times. The atmosphere is great but the service has always been disappointing. Food always amazing and the best margaritas anywhere.

Consistently great. One of our favorite restaurants in Rockwall...worth the wait during the weekend.

My experience is that: Food is ok, nothing special. Same as El Fenix I can say but overpriced. Indoor tables are very close together Service is slow and the waiter seemed clueless. I had to send my drink back because it was horrible the first time around. Not impressed. The place was packed, but for Rockwall area there's not a lot of options I guess. Maybe a Dallas location will have a better experience, I am used to Capital Grille kind of service and food

With my main little dude Cian the last couple of Sundays at "brunch". I was reserving judgment, primarily for consistency sake. It'd been a couple years since I've been back after we first moved to the Ar Dub, and I found Gloria's "ok" but a bit pricey - assuming due to the location at The Harbor. Very nice place and all, but again... pricey. So, anyway, had occasion to get out for some blockbuster movies at the Cinemark and figured me and my son would enjoy a brunch type thing before the movie. So, here we go. First Sunday we go, it was already hot outside so we sat inside. The patio there can be pretty great, but just too warm to enjoy food in. Our server was a nice gal and we ordered up our beverages (yeah, admit I had a bloody mary - it was pretty good and not terribly pricey, I noticed after brunch they have 1$ mimosa's - must get one next time). I asked for the spicy salsa, it's pretty good actually and my son got his cheese enchiladas. He really digs the black bean dip but is not a fan of the queso, they put extra "things" in there that he's not a fan of, not an indictment, but I won't order it for him again. I have the ceviche trio, and it's very tasty, but a bit too much for just me to eat. I'll remember to save this for when my daughter is with us. All in all, pretty good and we go to the movie. Next Sunday, The Wolverine is out, so I figure me and Cian will go see it, and the early show provides again a good opportunity to go to Glorias for brunch (even though I didn't plan to order off their separate brunch menu). It's a gorgeous morning so we opt for outside. Beautiful, nice breeze and that's when things start to go south. Our waiter comes over and asks what we'd like to drink. Cian didn't like their fountain Coke the last time, so he opts for Sprite. I go BM again, as they were pretty tasty, and the server asks me, "Are you ordering from the brunch menu, because the drink costs more if you don't order brunch". I'm like, "huh?" I see it right here on the menu in front of me, it's 5$. He proceeds to argue with me, "well sir, if you don't order brunch to eat, you can't order off the brunch beverage menu". Now, I'm testy, I retort, "I was here last weekend and didn't experience that at all. So, no, it's 5$... He seems a bit aback, but GD... I don't see any sort of "instructions" on the menu that say anything. I'm getting the impression he's trying to beef up my bill (thus his tip). So, lets compound things. My son was hungry, so he wanted the kids enchilada but he wanted to add one more. We go to Arboledas all the time, and they do this for us for a nominal 1.50 or something like that. When I ask our server, he looks confused, gives me a "I don't know if we can do that", then responds with some broken english and nods. So I figure we're good. I order the steak fajita nachos and ask for some spicy salsa for a second time. Ok, so we munch on chips and dip and when my food comes, I'm thinking tasty mimosa. They're a buck and look to be good sized (lots of folks here having BM's and Mimosa's). My server, to my utter horror, says, "sir, since you didn't order anything from the brunch menu, the mimosa's are 7$, do you still want one?" - Ok, here's where I'm going blue. First off, the brunch menu items are all 10.99, none of them sounded good so I got fajita nachos for 11.99. Don't want anyone thinking I was trying to be a cheapskate. I'm flatly insulted, I had a brunch menu in my hand that said 1$ Mimosa's. Should I have called for a manager, probably, but I'm going to go passive aggressive on this one and yelp my displeasure. What a way to try and nickel/dime me. You already rung up a brunch BM, push the flipping button for the brunch mimosa. Insult to injury, the "kids meal" is 5$, wanna know what they rung up for me for an extra cheese enchilada? 4.50!!! Really?! Way to gouge me dude. Enjoy your buck tip. On a positive note, Wolverine was really good ;)

Vomit. The worst Gloria's ever. And I've been to this location a bunch. I usually love Gloria's! again just not this location! Chips are always old aNd stale, and bean dip cold. Margaritas too sweet and they are 7 bux no matter what time of day.

  • Ray D.

Fish taco were better than average, the margarita was well made and the guacamole was salty and jus okay. I would come back - good but not great.

This is a good, but not as good as the location on Lemon Ave in Dallas. The staff are ok and there are views if you're lucky. Parking is a nightmare during events or weekends at the harbor. Their black bean dip is really yummy.

This is my favorite "go-to" place for margaritas. I prefer the frozen variety but occasionally will opt for on-the-rocks when I'm feeling fris-kaaay! LOL! I love the chips and hot sauce here much more than what's served down the road at Mi Cocina. The chips at Gloria's are lighter and crispier and have just the right amount of saltiness. Not only is the hot sauce tasty but the black bean dip that they bring out with the hot sauce is an added little tasty treat. On this excursion to Gloria's, I deviated from my usual food order choice and ordered up the chicken enchildas's platter. Yummy! My son wanted dessert so we also sprung for the fried plaintains with ice cream that's delivered to the table "flaming". It was delicious - to say the least! I don't recall the name of our waiter but service was outstanding! If I had one gripe about the Gloria's in Rockwall - it would be to return back to offering happy hour prices on their margarita's on Thursday's like all their other locations do. If nothing else, offer it once the Thursday summer concert series are over with. Come on, Gloria's - throw your loyal customers a bone!

Well lets just start by saying I would give this place 0 stars if I could!!! Came here with my fiancé, and we were the first to be seated outside when they opened! We sat for 15 mins before I HAD to ask for water! Then that came ten min later not even from the person we asked to get it but from another waiter who saw we were thirsty! The service was terrible! Worst I have ever had! Now lets get to the food! I ordered the black bean soup which was 7$ might I add, I was expecting a damn good soup but instead got black beans with some cumin thrown in it a d it was a 4oz serving????? For 7$ I expected a bowl of soup not beans in a tiny 4oz thing with some cumin in it!!! Then I got a beef taco and a chicken taco! The beef was terrible horrible flavor, and got no lettuce or cheese! The chicken taco was straight shredded chicken out of the can which was terrible, and again no lettuce or cheese! My fiancé got the sopas, which were equally as bad as my tacos!!! So if your looking for a good place to eat in Rockwall, DO NOT EAT at Gloria's!!!!! I think I'm going to be sick!!!

Wonderful fun place! My husband I really enjoyed ourselves here. Great margarita, yummy Mexican and Salvadoran food! All done right! I had plantains w queso fresco and crema, so so good! The place was CROWDED but we did not have to wait long, our servers were very fast, nice and efficient! I hope the Triangle gets a Gloria's soon!

Wait times here can run a little long on peak nights. A nice mix of South American and Tex-Mex, Glorias is a solid choice for a night out this side of Lake Ray Hubbard. Make sure to ask for the "hot hot" sauce for your chips.

Early September we visited Rockwall and had dinner here. The queso dip tasted like Velveeta with a few Sysco pre-chopped veggies. I had the enchiladas con salsa verde. The salsa verde tasted like Goya, and the chicken was so dry, I thought they had left it in the Texas sun all day. My wife ordered the Glorias special and found it to be terribly bland. Never going to a Glorias again if I have a choice.

Worst. Experience. Ever. I was in the area for business and was in the mood for for fajitas. A quick browse on my handy dandy yelp app said Gloria's held a 4 star overall rating. Sounded good to me... The problems started the instant I walked in the door. I noticed the bar was full so I opted for a table. When telling the hostess I was dining alone, she sighed and lead me into the dining room. The dining area was not even close full. Several tables were open. I had assumed her sigh was linked to seating a single diner in a crowded restaurant, but this was no the case. After getting my drink and complimentary chips, it appeared things would improve. The black bean dip is very, very tasty. Alas, my experience continued to decline. I ordered my fajitas and pulled out my phone to read a few emails. Within a very very brief time frame (2-3 minutes tops) my food arrived. This was suspiciously fast. I don't understand why the re-fried beans and rice are crammed onto the same skillet as the onions, steak and peppers. What results from this practice is beans that are so hot they couldn't be consumed until the very end of the meal and a 1/4" thick bean crust that is seared onto the skillet. This crust was so hard it made me wonder if they ever get these skillets perfectly clean. I also ended up with grilled onions in the beans, something I didn't care for. The toppings plate contained sour cream , guacamole and shredded cheese. The sour cream and guac were fine, but the cheese reminded me of Taco Bell quality. It was waxy and lacked flavor. There were plenty of onions on my fajita skillet, but only three slivers of green/red onion. Pathetic. The tortillas were pretty good. The steak was awful. Flavorless and very tough. It is cut, not in thin strips, but thin and wide planks. This makes eating it very difficult when it is this tough. I had to cut up the planks into bite size pieces to make my fajitas edible. My waiter stopped by to ask, "How is everything." Before I could answer he had already started to turn away, obviously expecting me to say everything was well. I shrugged my shoulders and said, "It's just ok." He ignored my statement, said nothing, and walked away. I was approached by the manager making his rounds of the tables a little while later. He asked how everything was. I explained to him my concerns with my meal (tough steak, burnt bean crust, crappy cheese). He sunk his head and very meekly stated he could get me another meal. I was already halfway through the fajitas and told him I didn't want to wait for something else, I'll just finish. He mumbled something while staring at the floor and then scurried off. When I received my bill I, paid and then asked to speak to the manager. After a 5 minute wait and neither a manager nor my waiter returned, I got up and left. Poor service + poor food = I'm NEVER coming back. To add insult to injury, there's a Luna de Noche right across the walk way. I wish I had seen it before going into Gloria's.

We have been to other Gloria's locations before and have recently tried this one. Being on the harbor the ambiance was great. Inside the bar area was quite hectic and waiting for a table took some time. But once we seated it was much quieter around us. I had the steak with chimichurri sauce which was AWESOME. Also my boys ate their food like crazy which is a rare feat. Service was a bit slow but the place was busy. Still highly recommend!

Crazy loud on Friday night. If you're over 30, you will find it uncomfortably loud, too. Very very difficult to carry on a conversation with your table mates. Food was wonderful. Plantains are the reason we come back. The chocolate flan was absolutely delicious. We should have ordered one for each of us. No one really wanted to share!

Of course chips, salsa & black bean dip are awesome! I always try something different when I eat here. Sour cream chicken enchiladas, spinach quesadillas & tropical salad with grilled chicken are my favorites. Like someone else said in their review...the salad was the best I've ever had. Consistently good Mexican food with great service.

The hubby and I just wanted to go somewhere new so we chose to leave Plano and go to Gloria's in Rockwall; it was SO worth the drive! Not only was it a gorgeous day and we got to eat outside overlooking the lake, but the food was spectacular, the margarita was the best in a long time, the service was impeccable and the view...wow! Just what we needed to recharge...highly recommend!

Best Gloria's in Dallas. It's right on Lake Ray Hubbard (with an incredible view) in an awesome shopping place on the lake called "The Harbor" I think. 100% worth the drive if you're a Dallas-proper person like me. Gloria's is always consistent. Their chips always great, bean dip unmatched. Margaritas are just right. We always get the mixed fajitas and the steak is always tender and marinated perfectly while the chicken is your standard fajita chicken. The decor is very new urban with the blue-glass pendants, tiny mosaic tile behind the bar. My only complaint is they close the curtains if THEY think the sun is too bright, therefore taking away the view of the lake, therefore making you feel like you're at any other Gloria's.

One of my favorite tex mex restaurants. The prices are reasonable. The food is good. The atmosphere is amazing, love the live band/dj on the weekends!

It's a Gloria's so they have the same food, same bean dip, same salsa. You already know all about that. They have an improved view thanks to being located on the lake. They also have the same margaritas and specials. Given that I only had drinks and chips that's all I can evaluate and it was all A-OK. I left not hungry and pretty drunk so all in all it was a successful visit.

I loved that they had El Salvadorian food and I loved loved loved that they served black bean dipping sauce with the salsa and chips prior to the meal. My papusas were awesome and I tasted the sour cream enchiladas, which were divine. Great location by Lake Ray Hubbard, I'll bet it is packed in the summertime. Service was a little slow for lunchtime but not awful. I find that sometimes the quality of service decreases in relation to how busy it is and it was slow during that lunch. Still great!

Great food + great view. This was my first dinner in Rockwall and I was amazed at how beautiful this lake and harbor was. It is a very cute place to bring your family or loved one. It was pretty packed the day we went so all the outside was taken already so our table had a minimal view of the lake. They bring out chips with salsa and black bean dip while you are looking at your menus. I only tried the salsa, it was avg, didn't wow me but i can tell the chips are fresh. I got the Tropical Salad with salmon with spring mixed greens, strawberries, mango, pineapple, mandarins, honey balsamic vinaigrette dressing. This was one of thee best salads I've had and they were generous with the salmon portions in it. $15 for salad in that ambiance was worth it plus it was delicious. My brother got the Pescado Acajutla - tender tilapia fish fillet marinated the way they do it in Acajutla, El Salvador; served with rice, black beans and grilled vegetables. The portions were huge! i swear they put the entire fish on the platter, it was enough to feed 2! I would definitely come back and try another item of the menu. PARKING: its a shared parking lot so it does get crowded, you may end up having to park on the far side and walking in. Overall, a beautiful location, next time I will try to catch dinner at sunset on the patio!

Who knew Tex-Mex could be so fab-o? Because it was such a lovely day, we sat out on the patio that overlooked the lake. I thought it was such a great location, the service was great/quick, and the bathrooms were so clean! I ordered something that I always order when dining on Mexican food, cheese enchiladas of course! You can always judge the quality of the food by the ingredients on top of the cheese enchilada, and WOW, I was floored by how good their enchiladas were! I ordered their sour cream sauce on top, only because Jose our server had such a thick accent I could barely understand him. All I heard at the end was, "You will like it!" DID I EVER. I also ordered the chicken and vegetable soup in case the enchiladas were too oily... alas, I ate both enchiladas and the delicious soup. Fresh cut carrots, celery, and shredded seasoned chicken made the soup taste homemade. I wouldn't doubt it was! I'll be back. Best enchilada I've ever had.

Drinks are cheap Monday-Wednesday all day happy hour, but the food is definitely average and overpriced. Somehow, this place is always crowded and the service could definitely be improved. On my last visit, I met a friend at 6:45ish on a Wednesday and after we both ordered margaritas, we waited for a while for our food. Her meal came a good 15 minutes before mine did, though I only ordered shrimp quesadillas, nothing too complex. A bit on the greasy side, but decent meal and with ritas starting at $4 apiece, it's worth going for happy hour if you don't mind the crowd and noise.

Great salsa and beans, some times the beans are off and have a whang, the food for the price is good. Atmosphere is eclectic and a good date place if you have a good seat. Outside dining is worth the trip. I found a few times the hostess station has the ability to skip over and seat incorrectly, thus making the wait up to 45 minutes. The management is nice but does not handle complaints in a manner that makes you feel resolved as a valuable customer. We dined there at first several times a month, and have now gone every couple months as there are many other wonderful places to explore in Rockwall. The parking is a problem on weekends, so go according to what you are on as far as a time and travel type occasion. I find it to be a worthwhile dining experience for wanting a particular experience for taking friends/family from out of town.

I went to Gloria's in Rockwall last week for drinks, and had some black bean dip that is worthy of mentioning here. If the rest of their food is anywhere near that good, it's an awesome place to eat. The top shelf margarita's were very good, too! I'll also mention the view....It was dark, so I couldn't see much, but the patio is on the side of a hill, overlooking some nice public areas, and, I presume, Lake Ray Hubbard. Very nice!

  • Sparkles B.

You go to a place like this to relax and have a nice cocktail. The chips and salsa were very good. I liked the black bean dip too. I had the flank steak nachos and they were great. The rice and refried beans were just okay... Left me wanting more. Overall, I felt it was priced okay at about 10-15 dollars per entree.

The waitstaff is always attentive and welcoming. Only had one issue with food out of the several times I have been here, but that was fixed by the manager and won't taint my liking of Gloria's. All and all a great spot to sit and watch the sunset on the lake. Order the GGM (Gloria's Grand Margarita). I have a pretty high tolerance and just one and a half of these gave me a good buzz!

  • Elvia J.

Another good meal at Gloria's!! Most weekends it's too busy for us to consider because the wait is too long. On Saturday night we arrived at 9:30 p.m. and were seated promptly. The staff was quick to take our order deliver our food without coming across "rushed". We ordered shrimp nachos for the first time and they were delicious. The Pollo con Champinones (grilled chicken breast w/creamy sour cream, grilled poblano peppers, mushrooms and onions) was also good, but I think next time I will order just the shrimp nachos. I realize now that people sometimes sit on the sofa outside the front door just to relax...In the past I assumed they were waiting to be seated.

I love Gloria's. If you go, be sure to try the Salvadoran menu. The tex-mex is really so-so, especially the rice. However, the Salvadoran menu along with some tex mex standards makes this place really unique and different. Dine on the water, see a movie, then have some Coldstone after. What more can you ask for in an evening?

New location, great food, not authentic but its still worth the visit.. The best part about this location isnt the food, its the VIEW..its on the side of lake ray hubbard.. Its awesome..you can eat on the patio and enjoy a great view.. Drink specials, Mojitos and margs are 4$ usually.. I love the area, cause you can walk around and there are shops and other restaurants around as well....really nice marina area , and a great view, on the side of the lake...feels like ur not in dallas

Delicious, and friendly staff plus pretty view! And not to mention yummy drinks. Love the salmon chimichurri salad, enchiladas, flautas, platano and yummy retried beans. It's usually packed but worth the wait

The view alone gets two stars even if the food was terrible. It wasn't but you could just come sit on the patio here and have drinks and it be a nice scene. The chips and salsa/bean dip were pretty good. The salsa has a bit of heat but not too much. Chips are very salted, maybe could use a little less although I suspect it varies. As for the entree, it was ok. I had the combination #1. The fajita steak was a little almost burnt tasting but didn't look it. Maybe was just the grill. The flan dessert was good. So all and all the food was ok and service was ok and view was spectacular. We will be back, at least for a drink and dessert sometime.

Service is ok. Food is ok, but view is breath taking on patio facing lake.love it. And just relaxing here is worth it. Until I went home after that dark moon margarita, yes one it gave me a horrible migraine and I was sick all night I don't know if it was the drink or the chicken but diarrhea and vomiting all night.

The rent here is so high that the price for the food and drinks is a bit too high in my opinion. The food is usually really good but I've been here so many times that we've had some terrible experiences. I think for the most part I'm done with Gloria's but they're usually the only one that can stay in business at the harbor so I may be forced to go back. I would give them 4 stars for their food, but between the price and sometimes bad service, I'm sticking with 3 stars. Sorry Gloria's. On a positive note, they have the best house mojitos anywhere.

Yummy! I just wish it wasn't quite so expensive, as I don't feel like it's quite worth what they charge. I love the mole sauce and the chips and salsa. It's a great location, and the service was fine...nothing special, but good.

Good location, decor and design. There's a large outdoor patio where you can see the lake. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and the food was pretty good too. Good location for date night.

I met a friend for dinner and we sat on the patio overlooking the lake. The service was wonderful and the fajitas were hot, fresh and tender. The spinach enchiladas were wonderful! I'm a big fan of the black bran dip that comes with the chips. We were able to enjoy a storm rolling across the lake and the very attentive staff offered to move us to another table to stay dry. The prices are a little high, but the quality of the food and excellent service make it worthwhile. I've been back several times and have never been disappointed.

Last Saturday was a solid experience at the Rockwall Harbor Gloria's. The server was consistently attentive, and the food came in a timely manner. When you have a good experience here, it's lovely! My only reservations about Gloria's is that it is trying to be upscale, yet the volume of food they crank out of their kitchen, especially on a weekend, limits the quality. I can go to a more boutique, non-chain restaurant in Dallas, pay the same $16.00-$25.00 for dinner and receive a more reliable quality because of this. But if you prefer suburbs and don't mind chains, Gloria's is pretty much as good as it gets.

I enjoy coming here. Last night I had the Carne Adobada and it was amazing. I love the black beans they serve and the plantains compliment the dish well. I also tried the spicy mango margarita. Wow! This drink will knock your socks off. I will definitely order this again! Our server was wonderful. As usual.

Been here a number of times and food has been great each time, as has the service. 4 stars only because at times in the summer, there are insects flying in the restaurant, which is not all that unusual on the lake, but still annoying.

Food is always spot-on awesome. Love the chips, salsas, sour-cream chicken enchiladas. Best margaritas around. Beautiful location/view of the lake; heated patio (when needed). Definite win.

Good strong margaritas. Good size portions. Managers almost always present on the floor. Makes a nice difference with the wait staffs performance. Parking sucks at the harbor usually. And btw Gloria's is about the only place out there on the harbor that has lasted.

Great authentic cuisine with Salvadoran, TexMex, Mexican, etc. I had a giant burrito that was stuffed (and stuffed me!) with beef, rice, chile con carne, and plenty else. Fantastic service. Go here!

It has been 7 years since we ate here, but our first night back in Rockwall we went. It was as good as ever. A crowded Thur night with a concert, but the service was good and the food came quickly. Good place on the lake.

Food was decent but I have had better tex mex other places.. Service kinda was off tonight Our waitress had to reminded to refill drinks and bring items for the meal and had to be told numerous times by others in my party about the drink orders I've been here before but don't know if I'll come back after this time this place is really nothing special

The atmosphere is great. We went on a busy Saturday night, the wait was not bad. We were seated on the open patio. Great food, with a great view! Got the surf and turf. The steak was cooked perfectly and the jumbo shrimp were great. The best horchata and best flan I have ever had as well!

I ate here with my family. The food was great. We enjoyed the Guacamole and we all enjoyed our meals. The resturant was clean and appealing. You have the option for a lake view which is very nice despite the low water levels this year. I will go back for sure. Highly recommend!

I've eaten here a million times. Chips & Salsa are out on the table as soon as you sit down. Service has always been good. Food good. Price high but all Gloria's prices are this way. Lake view is amazing and a good spot for first date.

Update after eating lunch here every couple weeks for 18 months. Food is consistently excellent and service cannot be beat. Price is a couple bucks higher than fast food but SO worth it! Only drawback is the terrible parking situation, but that applies to every store in the Harbor.

Took a quick outing with the family today - decided to try out Gloria's for lunch and we were not disappointed! This place was really good. The service was friendly and quick, and our food was quite delicious. I had the chicken tacos, my husband had the combo (carne asada was really good), and kids had the nachos and chicken tenders. My tacos were tasty, but after having a bite of the carne asada tacos, I'll probably lean that way next go around - they were really good - and I hardly ever eat beef! Definitely one of the better Mexican restaurants out here so far!

Had the fajitas today. They were very good. The view of the harbor is nice and patio seating is enclosed and comfortable. We will be back! Chicken was good and we always love the salsa and black beans to dip our chips in.

I've come here maybe five times. It's always packed and popular so obviously people like the food. I kind of like the food, too. I mean, there is better Mexican even right here in Rockwall (for instance, Don Martin's, or Potrillo de ka Sandia, less than 100 yards away), but Gloria's holds its own in this regard. I think the Salvatex dishes are more interesting than the same old meat/bean/cheese/tortilla that is the bane of Tex Mex aficionados everywhere. I want to be fair, but on four of my five visits they got at least part of the order wrong. Once they forgot the appetizer and just brought out our entrees. Once they brought me the wrong type of soup. Once I got loaded Coke instead of the Diet I ordered. The worst was when they straight up forgot one of our entrees completely and we all sat there looking at the poor foodless dude. They were always very nice about the errors , and fixed them as promptly as possible. In the Case of the Forgotten Appetizer they asked if we still wanted it (we said no, since the entrees were at hand). I would have been mad if they had said "we'll get that to you ASAP." In the Case of the Foodless Dude they suggested he change his order to something the kitchen could do quick, so he could get something as fast as possible. So they handled the problems professionally. I am still dinging them a bit because they made the errors in the first place. Maybe being bustling & filled with people isn't always ideal for the customers, at least when the wait staff loses focus. Or maybe I'm just super unlucky when I come here.

Dont fall for the 2 dollar temales or the rude manager. To many good places to eat good Mexican in North Texas than this place. Overpriced with a manger that has no clue how to treat return customers. Dont waste your money!

Looking for excellent food and an amazing view? This place is perfect. Beautiful view right on the harbor of Lake Ray Hubbard. A great date night or night out with the family. The food and drinks are delicious and our service was excellent. Some places just overcharge when there's a great view. This place touches on each element of fine service. Enjoy!

Food was great, drink was great, service was incredible. Quite possibly the best restaurant experience I've had, and definitely the best ever at this price point! Every last employee was competent, from the hostess and bus boy to our waiter and the manager. I felt completely attended to, but never smothered and the food was hot, fresh, delicious... the list goes on. Even on a slow Monday night, the service was outstanding, ambience calming, food decadent - would most definitely recommend! I travel across the U.S. about 300 days a year and can't remember the last time I was this pleased with a dining experience.

A nice lively, high ceiling restaurant along the lake. The chips along with the salsa and black bean dip alone are worth going for. My table seemed pleased with all the dishes. And if you're staying in the Hilton next door, there's no reason to get in your car to get some place else in search of Mexican/Tex-Mex.

Gloria's is one of those places where even though you've been there several times, you can't ever remember if you like the food or not. I usually choose this place based on whether I'm feeling the atmosphere. With today being one of the first beautiful fall weather days of the year, my husband and I decided on a patio lunch date here. Gloria's is just ok to me. They have a cool atmosphere, patio, and really strong margaritas. Those three elements make for a successful franchise venture in a bustling town. Sure. It works. However, the food just always lacks. But they get away with it cause of the above mentioned scene that they do so well. So, I'll go if I'm more set on the scene rather than the mood. This is rare, but it happens occasionally. Weather and/or a sports game is usually involved. The black bean dip is a nice change of pace and the chips are good and salty but the salsa is average. We ordered the ground beef chimichanga and the pollo con chamipinones. Even though the pollo in my dish was covered with mushrooms and peppers in a sour cream sauce, it was still moist which I appreciated. The Spanish rice was bland and after starting with the chips and black bean dip, I was not interested in the black beans that accompanied my chicken. It was good, but I wouldn't order it again. My husband said the chimichanga was pretty good as far as the beef but that there were bits of potato in it that he didn't expect making for a more filling meal than we had intended. But the weather was so wonderful and the service was good. So, even though the next time we contemplate Gloria's we will likely scratch our heads as to whether we like the food or not, if it's a beautiful day at the harbor and/or we need a good frozen margarita...we will probably venture in again.

Living in New Orleans, good Tex-Mex is missed. Especially for one who has spent decades in Midland, Austin, Corpus, Galveston, Brownsville, & Houston. Went to Gloria's with my favorite Son-in-Law on Saturday evening, early, before going on sailboat. Gloria's was just great. Our party had all sorts of menu items and they were all just wonderful. Clean, not greasy, well-seasoned, imaginative, inexpensive; I could go on-and-on. . . . . Gloria's is understandably packed-crowded; go early ! We were satisfied and happy !

For the most part I love the environment. I'm being generous with the rating because what displeases me the most is that only Hispanic people work at this location. Not one single white, black or Asian. Discrimination at its best. I refused to believe that people other than Hispanics apply for positions with this organization. Ironically, 99% of the customers are non-Hispanic. Sad. I'll never come here again.

It has Mexican dishes in the menu but its really a Salvadorean Restaurant..love the food here but my favorite in the menu is the Glorias sampler.

I have been here numerous times and I don't remember ever getting a bad plate. The decor is so inviting and cool yet relaxing. The walls are back lit with changing tones of reds, blues and violets and the dark wood floors complete the look. Service is usually decent to superb. The food has been consistently pleasing. I always stick with the Pescado Acajutla (Marinated Tilapis, grilled veggies and rice). I also can't go without an order of platanos fritas. Delicioso! This fish is so good. I tried it without oil and salt tonight (trying to step up a notch on my health game) and it was equally as good and tasty. And lest we not forget, the metaphorical cherry on top, are the free chips and dips (salsa and black bean dip). Drinks don't disappoint. They are never weak from what I can remember. I like the mojitos and the frozen drink varieties they offer. I have never tried dessert here. I am always too full to try anything beyond the entree. Additionally, there dessert options do not call me hither. I always leave happy because of all the yummy in my tummy. You will enjoy this location. As far as the crowd and waiting goes, I seem to always visit during a decent hour where those things are not an issue, whether it's earlier, later or otherwise I can find myself just as happy dining at the bar. Try it!

Food was great but I'm so tired of their menu changing. I always get the same thing... The carne asade with chicken enchilada. There used to be an option to get it with a scoop of guacamole. The chicken enchilada used to come with pickled jalapeños. They changed that and won't sub guacamole instead of rice and beans. They charge extra if you want jalapeños now. This time I ordered and the waiter said they no longer include the sauce on the carne asade. Quit changing your menu! And if you do change it then offer to make it the same for no charge... This is not a cheap meal running at $17.

Before seeing the movie, Lincoln, we decided to stop in at Gloria's for dinner. This was my first experience at this Rockwall location. After walking in, we were greeted & seated immediately. I wanted to try something different....not so much Tex-Mex...more from the Latin menu. Our waitress, Rosario M., was very helpful in making suggestions. She said her favorite dish was the Pollo En Champinones....grilled chicken breast with sauteed onion & bell pepper, topped with a creamy mushroom sauce...served with Gloria's signature rice & beans. Hubby & I both decided to order this dish....& we are sooo glad we did! It is DELICIOUS! Lots of mmmming & awwwing was goin' on! I'm drooling just thinking of it, now! Rosario M. was very attentive without being annoying. She was so happy that we loved her recommendation. I've been to my favorite Greenville Ave. location since, & ordered the same dish....equally yummy! Sounds like a good idea again real soon! =) Overall ,our experience at this Rockwall Gloria's was great all the way around & we look forward to our next visit!

I was taken to Gloria's for a little lunch date the other day. Had the option of staying inside or alfresco dining. What I love about this place is that you're able to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful view of the lake. Reminds me so much of New Zealand. Beautiful and peaceful. Feels like home. Sitting alfresco - you can absolutely enjoy your meal as there are fans outside to keep you cool from the scorching Texan heat whilst also taking in the beautiful view of the lake. A little bit of a communication barrier between the waiter and I.. Nothing bad though.. it was more the waiter trying to take in my Kiwi accent and myself taking in his Hispanic accent. It was comedic. Food wise.. I've been looking so hard for a good place to eat that isn't too pricey and Gloria's was IT! I ordered Beef Chimichangas and it was delicious! OM NOM NOM NOM. The best chimichangas I've had was back in New Zealand (I know right!?). However, after Gloria's - it surely altered my perspective. I can honestly say that this is the first restaurant in Dallas that I truly enjoyed. Cheers!

My suggestion would be to go to 7/11, pop a burrito in the microwave and fill your motor home up with gas on the money you will save.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
