Cristina’s Mexican Restaurant Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Cristina's is our go-to local place for good Mexican food. I love their lunch specials during the week and they have really great prices on margaritas (which come with a complimentary shot afterwards!) My favorites are the queso flameado, table-side guacamole, tortilla soup and sopapillas. The service can be a little slow at times but the staff is always extremely friendly. This place is great and I always take my family and friends there when they visit!

Love the updated menu and the new homemade tortillas.

This is what I was looking for. Having lived in upstate New York for the last 11 years, I had been craving some decent Mexican food. If you ask, they will bring you some tasty hot sauce, that is made fresh. No bottled hot sauce there. Price is reasonable and service is good.

Cristina's is always a good choice in Lewisville for authentic Mexican cuisine and unique tastes. Expect crowds on weekend nights as this is a popular place to dine, and for good reason. The tables are quite cozy and restaurant is not that large, but still gives an atmosphere of fun Mexican themes. I recommend hitting the bar area for a house margarita while waiting for your table. My service here has been very good on past visits, prompt and professional, which I appreciate. I've not had anything bad on the menu to date, but the authentic mole' sauce is truly a treat.

We love this place!! It's cute and cozy, and authentic. Staff is always so friendly. Best chips and salsa. I try and get something different every time I go, and each time, it's so good. Drinks are great! Then they give you a little shot after your meal. Super cute.

This is one of our favorite places to eat. The chips are a perfect example of how I think tortilla chips should be. Thin and crispy! The hot sauce is flavorful and just a touch spicy. My husband says he could drink it. Two of our favorites are chicken nachos and the chimichanga with chicken. Every server we have ever had is friendly and fast. We never have to wait for anything. We have many choices for Mexican food and this is consistently our favorite!

I'm visiting my grandparents from Vegas and I wanted to to out to eat at a place that I couldn't find in Vegas and my grandma recommend this place. I ordered a frozen mango margarita to drink and it was one of the most delicious margaritas I've had. It had a perfect balance of mango and tequila. I could not stop drinking it!! If I wasn't in the presence of my 94-year-old great grandmother I would have had more!! I ate the chile rellano based off another review here and I am so glad I went with that call. The chips and salsa here are also great. I might just have to make a second stop here before I fly back home.

I don't know who "Johnny" is but I like his tacos. The fish tacos are my fav, the come with jicama, marinated red onion and a special sauce. They are very good. My husband always gets the chicken chimichanga with ranchero sauce (red sauce) and he loves it. We always order it to go, and have only sat down to eat maybe once or twice. The service was good when we went although we ordered chile con queso that never made it to the table, if it did.... we mistook it for salsa and didn't say anything about it since we forgot about it until our food was served. We weren't charged for it so we didn't care too much and let it slide. They were pretty busy.

Nice to visit but wouldn't want to live here. just kidding, good place to get your Mexican food fix.

  • Dawn D.

Love the chicken soft tacos so much. Met my husband for our first date so I love it here. They have great black beans there that are delicious. And "Mexican coffee" at the end of your meal if you want. So excited they are building a patio here!

  • Josiah S.

Good food. Brisket tacos are excellent. On the downside it is loud and slightly cramped.

    (4)
  • Dani N.

The chicken tacos are really good and the apple pie dessert is AWESOME. The other dishes seem to have way too much cilantro with goopy sauces. The salsa is pretty good, but again, probably too much cilantro. The super hot salsa that they have upon request is really good and better than the regular salsa. The service is generally good too, so Cristina's is sort of our regular Mexican restaurant.

  • Sarah C.

Nothing too spectacular here. Margarita happy hour special was cheap but not a whole lot of liquor in my bucket of margarita mix. There are other restaurants that serve margaritas and have you stumbling a little bit out the door. Salsa was mediocre. A lot of cilantro in everything. I love Mexican food but I really hate cilantro; you couldn't get away from it here. They did, however, hold the cilantro in my dish as asked, so that was nice. Service didn't blow my mind like it does at some of the other Mexican places. They were attentive but not overly friendly.

One of my favorite Mexican restaurants (of which I have many). Small bar area, so happy hour options are a little cramped. food is not the best I've ever had, but it's good. This is one of the stops I usually take family when they are here in town. I'll be back.

I have always had a good time here. Normally I have come for lunch break during the weekdays. They have some good margaritas. My favorite flavor so far is the blackberry, and I don't even like actual blackberries haha. Be careful because other yelpers have said that the drinks don't taste strong, but after a few it will creep up on you. I have also tried mango and strawberry, and they even let you mix flavors together. Service has always been great, especially when you are on lunch break, you only have an hour, they are very considerate on time and I have always been able to enjoy my meal without feeling rushed. Their food is good, chips and salsa awesome. Good choice for a lunch out with co workers, or after work for some happy hour.

This is the third time I have been here. The food is always great. Service was a bit slow and off tonight but did still have continuous chips and salsa being served.

Average Mexican restaurant. The salsa was taste less maybe for those who want no heat. We noticed all the men waiters kind of weird. I'm still looking for that authentic Mexican restaurant. I think maybe most cater to the Americanized people these day. Oh well that's the times

I havent tasted anything bad at this establishment. Margaritas are amazing. Service is awesome. No bad points

  • Christina M.

I like this place for two reasons: flavors and price! Let's start with the salsa: It's slightly different from your everyday restaurant salsa, as it's heightened by cilantro. If you don't like cilantro, don't eat the salsa. Main plate: I ordered the chicken enchiladas (w/ sour cream sauce). It had great flavor- wasn't bland at all. They definitely did some marinating! They also have a good margarita happy hour special-$3.50 I think... The ambiance/decor isn't anything special, but the service was great. I didn't see anything that constitutes "Fine Mexican"- food or whole experience . As this is the only Cristina's I've eaten at, maybe it's just this location.

It was ok.. Had 2 margaritas and And queso dip while waiting out traffic. It was good.

  • Lorin C.

Not sure what all the fuss is about but then I recalled "oh wait, this is Lewisville". It is Tex-Mex that is essentially a microwaved tv dinner. I had the spinach and cheese tacos ($10.25) for two which was really pricey in my opinion for some rolled up cheese especially since over at Glorias you get 3 enchiladas and they are either the same price or even a bit cheaper and much more flavorful. The rice was nothing special and I didnt even try the beans as they looked really gross. There was also an awful stench that greeted you right as you walked in the door. The decor and ambience was not great either and last but not least the service was just okay. Never asked if we wanted refills. I will not be returning.

Calling this place "Fine" Mexican Food is an overstatement to say the least. Horrible service and less than par food. I decided to give this place 3 chances for the sole reason because it's close to us, which was 3 too many. The first two times the food was ok but the place is dirty. The third time was such a horrible experience I even called the manager whose response was "Sorry. Thanks I'll talk to him" in reference to the waiter who shorted me in my change back and tried to charge me for one of my daughters who was supposed to have her meal free since she's 12 and kids eat free on Mondays. Guess he decided to give himself a tip despite the fact that we were there almost an hour and a half and never got our drinks refilled and had to ask twice to place our order. there's definitely a language barrier which I normally would not mind but there was no desire on our waiters part to take care of us. I had my two kids with me one of them wouldn't even eat her burrito because it was not good and it took so long to get anybody's attention my kids were exhausted by that point. We felt invisible. The worst part was having the worst heartburn after my meal which never happens which goes to show that the food is NOT GOOD...plain and simple. I even saw our waiter pulling the trash can around and then walking over to the bar and putting straws in peoples drinks. I was telling a friend about the experience and she said she's never gone back because she got food poisoning. Never again.

Only got 2 stars cuz they took off the queso flameado of the menu. Love the salsa except the chunks of onions sure have gotten way too big lately. The music is so loud on the patio you can't talk or here each other. I used to be in the music industry so if its even too loud for me you should turn it down a little. Please fix these issues and I will rate you 5 stars.

We just moved here and have been searching for several months for our "go to" Mexican restaurant. Well we found it in Cristina's. When my family from out of state came to visit we took them there and they RAVED it was the best Mexican food they'd had in a real long time! I must visit this place a couple times a month now.

The Carne Asada with poblano stuffed with shrimp was outstanding. The service from Pablo H was excellent. Dora the manager was so attentive to guests and was really assisting all of the servers, which was so refreshing to see management rolling up their sleeves and jumping right in. Will be back soon Thank you

The servers are great here. They remember us every time we are in there. I love the hot sauce and tequila flights.

Great staff! They were very kind and attentive. The food was also great. I got a steak platter and the steak was, undoubtedly, cooked to perfection! All around great place!

  • Cat N.

Had lunch here with coworkers. It wasn't my idea to come here. I knew the food wasnt going to be good before going but I was hoping it would be better. I had the steak fajitas, lunch portion. It was the right amount of food but it didnt have any flavor. It lacked some marination....the steak had no flavor what so ever! I was pretty disappointed and I probably won't come back. Came with onions and bell peppers...the dish was bland! UPDATE: I just looked at my bank statement and they gave themselves an extra $5 tips. WTF!!!!! there's about to be a war!!!!! There is no way I would her 50% tip! that is total CRAY CRAY!!!!!!

Cristina's is, well, standard Tex-Mex fare. You always know what you're going to get: tacos and indigestion. The service is also standard. The drinks? Standard. Location? Considering its in a strip center, standard too. Let me be clear: standard is not bad at all! Cristina's just isn't going to pull out amazing flavor combinations, stellar yuzu margaritas or out-of-this-world ambiance. It's just a tex-mex joint in Lewisville doin' its thing. And it's thing is just fine. .

    (3)
  • Doug R.

Good food, good service. The decor kinda makes the place feel a little cramped, plus there isn't much room for waiting on a table. The food is good though, I'd say worth the wait.

    (3)
  • Mr B.

Chips are OK, tasted on the old or stale side. Salsa tasted canned. Found piece of whole peeled tomatoes in salsa, therefore they are canned. Not great happy hour specials. Margaritas are OK, happy hour beer special is Bud Light & Modelo on draft. I'll pass on Cristina's for happy hour. Service is friendly and professional. Location is clean and decent decor.

  • Bryan E.

Very average Mexican food. The salsa had very little flavor. Fajitas were ok but under seasoned. The wife had an appetizer platter and everything on it was so-so. Service was good I will give them that.

  • Veronika P.

I love Mexican food but I hate Christina's! The first time I came here, I was very disappointed. The food had no flavor, my margaritas was.....WATER, and my chips old. The service wasn't good either.Didn't like it period went a second time because I'm funny that way. I figured maybe it was just that day...... Uh yea some thing.

The food and service is great!!! I will keep coming back here!!!

  • Mike m.

The tacos are ok - not spectacular. The service is horrible. My family and I have gone there on occassion for years and it never ceases to amaze me how incompetent the wait staff there is. Probably won't be going back any more.

    (1)
  • Roger M.

Bla...bland and bla. I could have made this at home with crumpled up paper and ketchup. Beans and rice were bla, taco was bla...ice tea was good. Why are there no Mexican rest in The D that make their own chips and fry their own taco shells? This pre-made stuff is bullshit. Save your money and go to Taco Bell. I can't believe this place is a chain...good for Christina, bad for us. I know this may sound harsh, but I am a little pissy right now because I'm bloated and have cramps. Pace, bitches!

    (1)
  • David M.

Today was my first time visiting and found that the food was really good, the service matched the quality of good. We will be back real soon. The margaritas were very good. I had the beef tacos and my wife had the chicken fajitas and they both delivered!!

    (5)
  • Patti K.

Mediocre fine dining at best. The food was ok. Sauces brought the most flavor. They have Coke instead of the Pepsi that's printed in the menu. Beer was not very cold. Service was ok. Chairs have zero padding and are extremely uncomfortable. The chocolate mints at the door on the way out are good. We might give it another try someday, but this will not be our go to Mexican restaurant.

    (3)
  • Thomas R.

the service was extremely bad, the waiter took an hour to take our order, and by the time we got our food we were filled up on chips and dips then the waiter chased us toward the door thinking we were not going to tip him and I tipped him even though my gf told me not to. I will not go there again, angelinas is a way better place and good service

  • Tonya S.

Queso flameado was amazing! This was the first time I had tried it with tomatillo sauce and I was so not disappointed!!

    (5)
  • R C.

I love this place! The salsa is so delicious and fresh tasting--heavy on the cilantro, tomatoes, and onions--not too spicy. I love the tacos. I order them on soft flour tortillas and they melt in your mouth. The service is always great and the wait is never too long.

    (5)
  • MC O.

Okay, when it comes to Tex-mex/Mexican food there is no messing around. Let's start with the awesome margaritas. The salsa is fresh and cold which is a big deal. I like that it is full of onions and cilantro but not overly spicy. The chips are just okay. The queso is bland and tastes like the rest of Texas' s version of cheese dip. I would go with the table side guacamole. Now...Texas has mastered some good guacamole! My husband likes the burritos and I usually get the shrimp quesadilla. We have had the brisket tacos and recommend those too. If you are picky like us...you won't be disappointed.

    (5)
  • James A.

Went here again against my better judgement. Chips and salsa were bland as em was the table side guacamole. I ordered the chicken flautas. The tortilla was stale and chewy. The chicken was ok but bland. I am not really a fan of Christina's but the bar has always been set pretty low with them. Also. I ordered boracho and got refried beans.

    (1)
  • Priscilla M.

Plain gross! I had to return my plate twice... Grilled chicken taste like frozen chicken breast from a bag! Staff was nice about it and asked what was wrong with my food...I did state that the chicken was not fresh and tasted frozen , but the manager insisted on it being fresh... Yeah no!

  • Erica S.

This is the worst service I have ever had at this location, I've been here more than once and and always enjoyed my visit, today was a different story. Waitress had no idea what was going on, slow at filling up chips and salsa, margarita's took forever to get to the table, one of the plates ordered was terrible, fajitas were good, margarita's were big but not much of a kick. Waitress kept coming by the table to ask if we needed Togo boxes when we weren't even finished. Shrimp tacos weren't good and the fajita beef chimichanga was basically just cheese. Overall I was disappointed. Hope this doesn't happen again.

  • Pamela F.

This place is excellent. Great ambience and wonderful servers. When measuring other Mexican food places in the area, this is who I compare them to. The outside patio area is marvelous at any time of the year. They have live music on the patio on the weekends.

  • Linda N.

One of my favorites Mexican restaurants. I ordered the sour cream chicken enchiladas. If you are looking for quality mexican food, this is definitely the place to go.

  • Jason R.

I recently went to this location for dinner with my sister. The food was not good, the drinks were very watered down, and the chairs were so disgusting that a brown stain was left on the back of my shirt. I will NEVER eat at any Christina's location again.

    (1)
  • A A.

Over rated. Closes early. Better spots in town.

  • Kate S.

I admit that I tend to judge Tex-Mex places based on the brisket tacos since they are *always* the first thing I try. These were...okay. I liked how the tortillas were soft, yet crisped just slightly, and the side of black beans was really tasty. However, the meat itself was not anything I'd come back for, and the margaritas were pretty standard and not worth full price if you come outside happy hour. Keep in mind that the place is pretty small and gets packed on a Friday evening. The bar holds about 10 people and fills up with folks who got tired of waiting on a table and decide to eat there. Forget sitting at the bar just for a drink, and trying to get drinks while you wait or find a place to sign your tab is difficult when you have to reach around and interrupt diners. Some places will have open seating bar tables to help alleviate this problem, but even the tables in the bar area were used for dinner service.

    (3)

Very good chicken fajitas Chile releno and the carne asada was very juicy & tender. Good prices on swirl margaritas too.

  • Tywon T.

This location is absolutely great! All of the servers were magnificent and attentive. The manager came by our table twice as well as the other tables in the restaurant. I especially like how awesome the food tasted and how it came out in perfect timing, considering how busy it was in there. Oh yeah, let me not forget the drinks. The bartender was really busy, and in the zone, yet, he did not fail to make my three drinks strong like I like them. I highly recommend trying out this location if you are in the area.

  • Zack A.

First off, I almost left because their Salsa is basically WATER! Literally! Had I not been with co-workers I would have just walked out at that moment even after asking the waiter to bring me a new serving. No Tex-Mex or Mexican restaurant who chages Christina's prices is worth a second glance if they don't have Grade A Badass Salsa. Other than that, Christina's used to have good platters and quality food (the Flower Mound location) but this one is pure "White People Won't know the Difference Mexican Restaurants". I don't care who that offends but their quality is basically on par with On The Border but you then add $2 dollars to every dish. Now.. What do Lake Lewisville and the Shrimp Enchiladas at Christina's have in common? If you said, ".. neither of them contain shrimp" then you you'd be a winner!

    (2)
  • Ali A.

The chips were good but the salsa was mediocre. The entrees my wife and I ordered were very good (chicken tacos and chicken enchiladas).

  • John A.

Great place, awesome food, and great service. Nice that waiter gave us a complimentary Khalua shot as dessert at end of our meal!

    (5)
  • Bob T.

fajita nachos were terrible same with taco salad. Puff tacos were good. The refried beans tasted like the freeze dried ones you can get at the store. chips and salsa were ok. staff were great. with so many choices in the area I wont go back

We tried this once and my wife liked it so much she made me buy a wallet-full of gift cards. So now we've been there a bunch of times. She especially loves the guacamole burrito, and orders it every time. (I hate when people order the same thing every time, but if she's happy....) A couple of times I tried the brisket tacos in crunchy corn shells. The meat was delicious, although the whole thing was pretty skimpy. Certainly with a bottomless bowl of chips and salsa I never left hungry, but the taco plate itself seemed light. I shouldn't eat so much, anyway. The real winner, though, is the kids menu. Not only do they have an extensive kids menu--something to please even our whiny boys--but for a long while there every Monday and Tuesday was kids-eat-free night. It's tough to beat free. Our boys loved going there, even though they're not fans of Mexican food, which says a lot about the flexibility the menu offers them. The table service was hit and miss. Sometimes we have awesome service, but at least once it was horrible--constantly asking another server to please find ours. Usually a manager is circulating, but that night we didn't see one, so maybe that's why our server went AWOL. So for value, you can't beat it. And for picky kids, you definitely can't beat it. And, apparently according to my wife, for the guacamole burrito thing you can't beat it.

I was not so impressed with this "Fine" Mexican Cuisine. To start, the chips and salsa were really good. I ordered the brisket tacos ($8.99). The tacos were very tasty. The brisket was juicy and flavorful, and not too greasy. The accompaniments were noooo gooood. The beans had zero flavor... even though I saw herbs and bacon in there, I didn't taste them. I asked for some hot sauce to add to them... in which I thought would be in a bottle, was really fire hot salsa. (I think this was my bad for not being more specific).. and it made the beans worse. It also came with really dry rice and an avocado tomato salad... aka slices of avocado and tomato on some lettuce. This salad made me angry. The tomatoes were not ripe at all.. they were mostly green and the avocados were very bruised. Now, I know avocados are a tricky vegetable (or fruit.. I don't know...) but at least cut off the brown parts, y'kno. Anywho.. this place is close to my job and COULD have been a good lunch choice, but going there made me feel like I was cheating on Agave Azul... and the food was not good enough to make it worth it. Agave Azul, please forgive me :(

Good Tex-Mex. My wife's favorite restaurant. I enjoy the food and quick service. My only complaint might be that it is often noisy.

Great food, but the wait staff always seem to have better things to do. They are not overtly rude, but you can't help but feel as if serving you is a bother. Hosts and Hostesses are always nice.

This place is much better than a 3 star. We eat here probably at least once a week. Food: Great and consistent Chips: Always Fresh and they don't let your bowl sit too long empty if ever. Salsa: Just the way I like it. Room temp. Lots of cilantro and onions and garlic. Margaritas: Always great Service: Some of the best service I have had. Everybody is super friendly and attentive. Mondays and I believe Tuesdays kids eat free.

The food was great! We ordered the queso mexicana with our chips and salsa which was amazing. I ordered the Brisket tacos which were very tasty. My wife ordered the nachos which were also delicious. The salsa is mild (which we love) and they have a green salsa as well for you spicy lovers. We sat in a booth by the windows and if you're cold natured, you're gonna need a sweater because the AC vents are aimed right at ya (just something to consider when being seated). The service does need some improvement although we got our food pretty fast. It was the little things we had to wait for awhile (silverware, plates, refills) lol. But hey, overall a great experience. We will definitely be back. The food is worth coming back for. =)

We frequent Cristinas pretty often when we're in the mood for Mexican. Last night we went there fairly late after having a bad experience at another place, where we left after never getting waited on. The staff at Cristinas is always nice and attentive. Last night we arrived about 15 minutes before their kitchen closed (as did a very large party). The staff never lets on if this bothers them. The waitress was friendly and smiley the whole time. They have a nice little bar area that can get crowded but it doesn't overwhelm the place with its noise, which is nice if you're not in the bar mood. Our food is always at the table very quickly, but we still manage to put a whole bowl of chips and salsa away before it arrives. Their salsa is the best; my favorite of any mexican restaurants in the area. I wish I could get the recipe. The food never disappoints and I always walk away full and happy. My favorite is the fajita taco dinner. Best soft tacos I've ever had. They have a new "Johnny's Tacos" menu...I plan on trying the fish tacos next time. I even look forward to the after dinner chocolate mints on the way out! Been to Cristinas many many times and never had a bad experience!

Much better choices for Mexican food in the immediate area. Not terrible, just not inspiring. I am easy to inspire.

There are two locations, this one in Lewisville, and one in Flower Mound. I am lumping them both together for this review. This is a family favorite for us!! Great food and a great price. Plus, if you catch a happy hour...the margaritas are fantastic. We've been eating at the location in Flower Mound for 10 years, and at the Lewisville location since it opened [5 years maybe?] and we've never had a bad meal.

I have been to this restaurant many times over the years, six or more years to be exact, and they are consistent which is tough these days. Food, service and atmosphere (even pretty stable prices over that time) have been consistent with higher end texmex. I will say this much, the rumor I heard many years ago was that the family had a parting of ways and split the restaurants up between family members. The two I know of are the Lewisville location and the Flower Mound location. I have been to both and my "great" review is for the Lewisville location. I did not care for the Flower Mound location at all. Distance, parking, atmosphere and food were all sub par at the Flower Mound location. Today, I ordered the special and enjoyed. Simple things like friendly staff, timely service, and thoughtful servers make the difference. I, like others, think the chips are the perfect kind of thinner crispy tortilla chips. The salsa is mild to medium, depending on your own taste, and has a hint of lime to it. I personally have not found a better tasting salsa and I have eaten texmex over three times in the last week at three different establishments. Addicted, yes, and sort of a connoisseur. If you are looking for salsa that makes your mouth burn until supper time, go somewhere else. I prefer flavor and consistency over severe "heat" on my food. I will admit, if you want to be super picky, the fajita chicken was tender and grilled well but had a little too much marinade to it while the steak was a little on the tough side. Tough to me though is still pretty tender. If to summarize, I have brought a coworker to this place and his picky food mannerisms were satisfied. (IE. that is a compliment) As with most things, people are different and tastes are different, so I tried to describe the experience(s) the best I could to help others make their decision. Almost forgot, the Coke tastes wonderful. You may laugh, but I even compare the way the fountain Coke tastes at various establishments and it is good here. Sometimes the machines are not mixing correctly and it will be too syrupy or to fizzy or the water has an odor or taste. Bon appatit!

There's no reason to visit Cristina's. Right here in Lewisville we have superb examples of BOTH ends of the Mexican food spectrum. If you're looking for glitzy, Americanized chain-restaurant food, head to On The Border or El Fenix. Both have far better food at similar (if not slightly cheaper) prices. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food, try one of the many outstanding taco stands, or check out the authentic Mexican restaurants on Fox near the big Mexican mercados. Cristina's food is bland and boring. Their entire menu AS well as their drinks are WAY overpriced. I am not basing this review on a single visit...I have some friends that adore the place and I get dragged there at least once a month. I have NEVER had a memorable meal at Cristina's and every single time I get the bill, I am deeply, terribly offended. Average food priced 50% higher than it should be. That's Cristina's in a nutshell.

The usual Tex Mex experience. Would eat here again, but prefer other Tex Mex places.

For months this has been a common location for lunches during the workdays. With that said their lunch menu is a decent compliment to your wallet. They always have a daily special available as well (usually displayed on a plate as you enter). My thoughts from these visits? Delicious fresh salsa, good entrees. But then I went for dinner. I ended up getting the typical dish I always get, the enchilada verdes. The green chile is deliciously sweet and the rice is decent with some pretty good borracho beans, and this is coming from someone who grew up with eating only the best homemade beans and rice around. What I was more impressed about were their drinks. Sundays usually brings a $3 margarita night and they do not hold back on the liquor at all! One of these will get you feeling good and 2 will set you off just right for the evening. I plan on going back and trying a few of their signature beverages. The waitstaff were very pleasant as well. The hostess welcomes you with a big smile on your face which is a nice change to most places lately, it seems. The manager came by several times and was very personable. The atmosphere is a bit loud but that was due to the televisions airing Sunday Night Football. It could be quieter asthetically, however. Still, I was very pleased with this visit.

Crickets... BEWARE. We came with some friends for a birthday and our night was enjoyable until we were attacked by 3 different cricket attacks. The waiters thought that it was funny and decided to laugh instead of asking if we would like another dish of our food that now had bug on them. We were there for approximately 1.5 hours during the fiasco. Never an apology or anything. Poor customer service.

We had been wanting to dine here since it moved into the location that was formerly Cafe Japon (Addison location) and finally had dinner here on Friday evening, Sept 25th. We were seated right away, and noticed the atmosphere was definitely family, similar to El Fenix, but a much younger crowd). Background music sounded like a 70s XM disco mix, but wasn't too loud to dominate. We started with soup as appetizers, and the tortillas was a tasty interpretation but not quite hot enough. The avocado soup was marvelous. Andrea had the chicken El Gordo Burro with the queso sauce on the side. The shredded chicken was well seasoned. I had the chicken enchilada verde and the tomatilla sauce was perfect. Quick refills on the water and iced tea. We topped it off with some fried ice cream. It was yummy, but ICE COLD! We will be going back.

Personally, I really enjoy Cristina's! Their queso is delicious and they make cheese enchiladas just the way I like them! My fiancee, however, is convinced there is an offending spice or flavor added to the beef. Every time he has ordered something lately, it's tasted really weird! But the cheese based food and desserts are awesome! The apple pie is really good and they prepare it in front of you! They make great strawberry daiquiris, though the bar tender can get a bit heavy handed sometimes. The waitstaff is decent, we've only had one instant where they failed to bring us everything we ordered and still charged us. But it was quickly remedied. I think it's a good place to hit up if you want decent Mexican food off of 3040!

Ok, so maybe it's because I don't get Tex Mex anytime, anywhere I want anymore. And maybe it's because my tastebuds forgot what it's like to scarf down good 'ol, greasy cheese mixed with tortillas, beans, etc. I went to Christina's with some friends and it was good - sure, the service was a TAD rushed (she gave us a total of 2 seconds to sit down before asking us to order) but overall, it's just decent comfort food. The portions are big. Sure it's not the CHEAPEST, but it does the job and it tastes good. Would I come back? Definitely. And I'd get the chicken and beef enchiladas and burritos piled high with rice and beans. If only I had room to get some fried ice cream.....sigh.....

We tried Cristina's one day as we'd heard some good things about it. We expected it to be a bit pricier than the family-themed Ojeda's style of restaurant, but with a finer selection of dishes. Well, we were right about the price. The fare here did nothing to excite us. I don't even remember the specific dishes we had, but they were combos of some sort that had traditional items that you just shouldn't get wrong. They were universally 'meh', hence the lack of memory as to what they even were. The chips and salsa were also a big 'meh'. We normally devour chips and salsa and our bowls were left mostly full. The biggest problem we had was the experience. We were just before dinner on a weekend (Saturday), so it wasn't busy but was starting to pick up by the time we'd been there a bit. Yes, we know Lewisville still allows smoking in restaurants. We realized Cristina's allowed it when we walked in, and still decided to stay when the air wasn't too bad. (We're both very allergic to tobacco smoke, and my wife has asthma to boot, this isn't a matter of preference for us, it's a health issue.) However, we asked the man who seated us to put us as far from the smoking section as possible, please. He sat us towards the center of the restaurant...which is just on the other side of a wooden/shelving divider from the smoking section. Several tables a few feet away from the smoking divider were wide open, so either he was incapable of understanding our request or it was ignored. We then spent most of our meal without anything to drink, as it was nearly impossible to get his attention for refills. We're talking salty Mexican food, and we even ran out of water. Inexcusable. It even took us a few minutes to get a check and get cashed out. Now...if they were busy, or if this was some young waiter starting out, okay. They weren't busy at all when we came in, and were still less than half of capacity when we were done. The man who seated us and waited on us with dressed in a business shirt and slacks, and was old enough to have a head of gray hair. I'm not sure if the problem was that he was a manager pressed into wait service because of a missing employee or what, but there's no excuse we could see. Because the experience could be a one-time fluke, I'm leaving this at 2 stars as the food was strictly 'meh'. We'll stick to Ojeda's and their stellar mole, or even Posado's up in Frisco.

I love this place! I have been here at least 50 times. Fast and I mean fast service and friendly too! The food is good! Nothing fancy, just good Tex Mex! Margaritas..very gooood! And strong too! The way a Rita should be! And a good price. They have a lot of weekly specials too. They also have a few tv's if you want to catch a few scores, but not distracting if you are with the Ms.

I dunno why this place is rated soo low. I thought it was great! Kinda high in price, but the avacodo salad we fine, a little over watery. I got the cheese stuff chicken (sorry dont remember what it was called ). Salsa and chips were always full. Didnt have time to check out their margs. But the entree more than made up for the lack of alcohol. Going to try the table side guac next time. Check for updates Update 7-4-11 Ok i went back for the lunch special and i could understand why it was rated that lower than i expected earlier. The table side guac was about 8 dollars including tax and tip. So.... unless he is Guac-Man i didnt think it was worth it. It was fresh but nothing too special. The waiter didnt pay attention. My friend and I had to ask for refills before our entrees came out which took until i finished my lunch to get it.

Man-oh-man. This one really stumps me. I understand that "family" oriented food needs to be somewhat tamer than authentic ethnic food - in other words "BLAND". But Cristina's is the absolute bottom of the barrel. Every dish is like mashed potatoes with Velveeta sauce. The so called salsa is very likely straight from the can of diced tomatoes. The chips drip grease. In fact most everything on the menu seems to come straight from a can. Both the original location (sandwiched between a graveyard and a gas station, which should be a hint) and the newer location (by the Bed Bath & Beyond) indicate they are aiming for family fare...but hey Mom...junior gets spicier food in the school lunchroom. So do the geriatrics in an old folks home. And everything on the menu is a diabetic's nightmare. Can there be enough of the population in Flower Mound (Lewisville/Highland Village) who love listless, tasteless food? Makes me shrug. I sure do not get it. Mark Robbins

Cristina's doesn't really need a detailed review. This place is great for a quick lunch if you are in the area and can't decide. Nothing really special about the food or atmosphere. Service was great with food coming fast and refills on chips and drinks coming as needed. Perfect for a quick lunch but would probably pass for dinner

the shrimp tacos is to die for!!! omg i never had anything so darn delicious. i never thought shrimp tacos would be so good, prior to this i would always get fajitas at mexican restaurants. i had a taste of this once when my friend camille order it for lunch and gave me her left over bc she didnt finished and i was too lazy to go out for lunch that day. the shrimp are also fresh and they are soak in this yummy sauce and the avocado they put in there makes the tacos taste even better!!! also it also come with bacon as a topping on the top which i prefer it to be on the side because for some reason it taste better without the bacon even though i love bacon. i try other stuff there such as fajitas which is ok but not the best, im always hesitating to get something else because i love the shrimp tacos so much but i willl work on being more open to other things on the menu. if you go on certain time they have yummy margaritas and also so cheap ( 3.50 during happy hours). customer service is pretty good everytime i go there, love this place especially their shrimp tacos!!!

Love this place! I try to go once a week if I can! The food is good for the money and the margaritas are amazing and worth it! Service is great as well they recognize you and say hi even when you are not being waited on by that person. I pick it over any other mexican restaurant around town!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
