Stopped by here with family to eat on the way to go to some aquarium place. Interesting. It's just so chain'y and so expensive for what you get. UGH Food was pretty good, everyone seemed pleased. I felt like death though because I thought it'd be a great idea to order meat queso and then try to eat a big meal after. Oops. But it was so expensive. Would come back, but would be smarter about ordering and would rather go somewhere more unique or at least cheaper...

Like this place in Houston for tex Mex fare. Been probably 10 times or so. Good drinks, ample portions. I've eaten at the bar and table area. It is on the loud side so don't go there expecting a quiet candlelit dinner and you'll be fine.

My wife and I have always enjoyed the Pappas franchise for as long as we've been together. The food does have more flair then most Tex-Mex restaurants and it is always over filling.whivh I feel is good for any restaurant. Although the cost may be hire then most Tex-Mex restaurants the ambiance and the high energy of the servers makes everything more exceptable.

The food is good although not really Tex-Mex or Mex for that matter. Good variations on Mexican favorites like enchiladas and tacos - except they fill them with shredded brisket or pulled pork - WOW good. The thing about this location however is not the food. Most of their locations will have similar quality. This location excels because of it's people. Not all of them - there are always a couple stinkers in any batch. John the Bartender, Miranda the bartender, Chelsea the mangler and there are several others that really make you feel right at home. The same can't be said for other locations like the Katy Frwy @ Beltway - that location has very indifferent staff that make it clear they could not be less interested. I usually eat in the bar area because that's the epicenter of quick service - or it can be. Leaving a really good tip (over $40) obviously indicates appreciation for service and it's likely to stimulate better service each return visit. This 290 location really excels at service thanks mostly to John the Bartender. He is affable, avuncular and easy to talk with. He mixes very good drinks as well - not the standard well drinks (most anyone can do that). Ask him for the millionaire margarita ($100) or a 1970's Pina Colada or a Singapore Sling / Don the Beachcomber Mai Tai. He won't disappoint. Off the menu item - shrimp in Garlic and butter with rice appetizer Crab-stuffed shrimp - Yup!

I typically do not visit corporate restaurants, because I'd rather support local small businesses. And to be honest... I worked corporate rest.for 13 yrs. Till I saw the light... but one of my close friends invited me for her 40th bday. Worst service ever, like expected. 20 mins.for waters and teas. Food brought out scattered. So no one ate together. Server brings checks to table and he had a hard time setting them on the table cause he hadn't cleated dirty dishes yet. Unbelievable!!! The worst, will never be back. And I will make sure my friends don't either. You corporate places should take lessons from these smaller local places. Because you will loose to them. They get one star because the food was better than I thought it would be.

This place is a staple in our family. We have celebrated every birthday here and will continue to for many years to come. I especially love half price fajitas for two on Wednesday nights. The chicken is always so juicy and tortillas are always hot! Love that the salsa is served warm and the queso has real onions and tomatoes in it. If fajitas aren't your thing, try the seafood enchiladas. so delish. John the bartender is really great and runs the bar very well. Strawberry mags always hit the spot. So fresh and best on the rocks. I cant imagine my life without pappasitos.

In my opinion, the beef fajitas are not as good as Gringos, but because I was hungry enough, I did eat it all up. The place was packed, and I have only been there once, but I did like the fact that the waiter asked me if it was my first time and offer me a compliemtary queso dip.

No, I'm not a Pappasito's FTR stealer. I just go to a lot of Pappasito's across town, and to me, they differ in small ways: wait time, service, parking, but rarely the food. (Except the one in Spring has the saltiest food!) I like this location. Mainly because of fond memories. I also like that it's close the the movie theater, so dinner and a movie is made easy. Well, so long as it's not a weekend when this place is PACKED. Always order the fajitas, but I am fond of their tortilla soup. Add some chicken on there for protein and you've got yourself a somewhat light meal (and you won't fall asleep during your movie).

I love this place, I recently move to Houston from California and this was one of the first places I ever tried texmex food. I love they're chips but after coming here 5 times and trying other places I realize the best on they're menu is the chips, don't get me wrong the food is great but over price

Great food; great service... it's a bit pricey but when you're in the mood for some good tex-mex or american-mexican... it's worth it IMO

Went here for lunch and had another great experience. Luckily there was no wait as we got there just before the lunch rush. Chips and salsa were tasty as always. I ordered the Plato del Mar which was fantastic. It had 4 Shrimp Brochette, Beef and Chicken Fajitas, Guacamole, Charro Beans and Rice. A great combination for $19.95. The shrimp they use for the brochette are huge!! Cooked perfectly and well seasoned. Dipped in the melted butter they are served with is super delicious. The fajitas were flavorful and not overcooked. Homeade tortillas they are served with is what makes them that much better. Only reason not giving 5 stars is the service here at times is pretty slow. We had to wait quite a while for refills on our drinks, salsa and our entrees. Food more than makes up for ther service though.

Sunday lunch at Pappasito's -- YUM! First off, as others have said, this place probably goes un-noticed as once you see it from the freeway, its hard to get to without hitting a turnaround and finding the proper exit :) The server that I had was outstanding -- he made sure my water glass was constantly refreshed and filled up the salsa bowl again -- I eat a lot of salsa when I get the chips :) lol. Anyway, I had the cheese enchiladas with chili con carne and got a side of sour creme. It was sooo good, although I found the rice to be a bit on the dry side, but overall it was good. As other reviewers have stated, it is a huge portion of food for lunch special pricing. I have *no* idea how anyone could consume that meal and still have room for desert, but somehow people do. Also, before I left, I asked my server for the manager. I'm sure he was like.. wtf did I do???? And she came over and I told her that I had a wonderful meal, the server was outstanding and that I'm sure that all she ever hears is complaints, so I wanted to say what a great meal I had and the awesome service. Please make sure the good servers are complimented, and get the bad ones out. In conclusion: good food, good service, good prices. Solid 4 stars!

Pappasitos is good, but not $5 a plate more expensive than every other Mexican restaurant in Houston good.

I think this Pappasito's goes unnoticed being on the northwest side just outside of the loop. Their service is quick and the food is, of course, always great. It's been a long time since I've been to Pappasito's and I'm glad I was able to stop in and grab bite, especially at this one. Their combo portions are huge so expect to take some home or come hungry and try to refrain from devouring as many baskets of chips as you can, but how can you resist?

    (4)
  • Jen F.

Love their veggie fajitas! They can be made vegetarian so don't be afraid to ask! Overall, very good Mexican food, but can be kind of slow and crowded at lunch hour.

Bad Choice During Lunch Hour!!! We had 8 employees and one client go here as a group for lunch on 1/27/14. Started off that we had to wait 20 minutes, although we arrived well before the "lunch rush", for a table even though there were several empty tables that actually remained empty for the two and a half hours we were there. Our client ordered a crab cake with her meal that we asked repeatedly for but did not get until we got out to-go desserts. The two salads that were ordered when we all ordered were forgotten about until about ten minutes after everyone else received their food and we got the waiter's attention. My beef that I asked to have well done was so raw that even our waiter said he could see the heartbeat in it. Each person that came to wait on our table was so busy blaming other people for the issues we were having, that they seemed to forget what they were supposed to be doing for us. I have been here several times for lunch and dinner, but this was by far the worst experience I have had there! It seems like the wait staff just doesn't care anymore.

On a visit to Houston to see the family we decided to try Pappasito's on a recommendation. It's your typical mass produced over-sized restaurant chain. However, the fajita's were tasty and the gordita app was good. Other than that not really the best establishment for tasty meal and time spent with family. Out of the 8 of us, only 2 were satisfied. So there may be a 25% you may like it.

I went here with my coworkers for our monthly luncheon and even though it was a large group we were seated really quick, our waitress came over and took our drink orders right away. She did seem like she really didnt feel like doing her job but we ignored her. I ordered the beef enchiladas and they were really good. I didnt know they charged for a side of sour cream until I got my bill but it wasnt that big of a deal. We didnt have to wait long for our food. They kept our cups filled which was a plus. When we go there it wasnt that many people but by the time we were leaving it was completely packed. I really like this restaurant and I will go back. I need to see if they have one by my house.

  • Andrew M.

As mentioned, it is a typical chain restaurant. Not bad but no exceptional. The only thing that stuck out to me was their cilantro ranch dressing dip for the chips. If I had just that for dinner I would be A-OK :D Would I go back? Yes! Their food is tasty !

Pappasito's is kind of a big thing in Mexican food in Houston. Even thought they used to be more Tex-Mex, and therefore better, they are still fairly good food-wise. Their menu tends toward pricey, even though Mexican/Tex-Mex shouldn't be. What seems to make our visits their less then A+ is the service. Mexican restaurants.... any restaurant for that matter...... should have attentive, cheery, and friendly wait staffs. However, we really saw none of that. The kid who waited on us this past Friday couldn't seem to speak loudly enough to make himself heard, let alone have a friendly conversation with us. I had to flag him down to bring us more tea, chips, and salsa. Good waiters never let glasses go empty or allow amenities to lack. These are just things that decent-tipping customers should not have to deal with. We felt like a burden to this kid, and that's just plain wrong. So, the food is decent, if over-priced. The waiter we dealt with just shouldn't be working there. Oh, and the tea I had to remind him to refill? It's $2.95 per person. Who charges $2.95 for a stupid glass of tea?! Definitely not a 15% tipping situation, and I don't know if 10% is appropriate either.

Yes this is a chain restaurant. That doesn't mean it's crappy. In fact, their food is excellent. I've never been disappointed. I love their chips and salsa. Their tortillas are fresh made right at the tortilla machine in the middle of the restaurant. Because of its location, you're not gonna see an ecceletic mix of people and strike up a random conversation. This is where families and couples come to get their Tex Mex fix. Their decor is generic and there's zero atmosphere. But again, their food is delicious. I would give Pappasito's 4 stars but I had to knock one star off because of my most recent experience. I eat here almost every Friday with my coworkers and it's usually great service. But I took my family here and got a table for a party of 10. Our buzzer went off so we gathered the uncles, the grandparents, and swept the kids up in our arms only to STAND and wait as they setup our table. There is a definite communication problem between the hostess and the wait staff. Please fix this. I'm a patient person but it was annoying to have hear my family ask me 20 thousand times "What's wrong with our table? What?? What's happening???" Since my coworkers love this place I'll be back. But I prefer my Mexican and Tex Mex food cheap and at a hole in the wall.

After busy day of meetings in Houston one of the front desk recommended that I try Papasitos restaurant for a pretty good happy hour and dinner. What a shock to find that this restaurant was packed to the max and the only spot available was the bar. Needless to say I was so hungry that I ordered a beer and started to check out menu. I gotta admit that this place was extremely loud but people were extremely friendly and easy to start conversation. One of the girls sitting next to me explained that the restaurant was full due to it having one of the best Mexican restaurants in Houston and was ussually packed every evenning. aside from being distracted by all the beautiful girls sitting at the bar, my curiosity got the best of me and I ordered the seafood quesadilla and it was amazing. This will be one place I will revisit on my next trip to Houston.

Vegetarian options at this place stink. The one entrée that looks like it might be vegetarian (cheese enchiladas) isn't. It comes with a sauce made with beef served on top. I had it without the sauce once and it was horribly bland. Just bland gooey cheese inside a tortilla. The next time a waiter offered to serve it with another vegetarian salsa and it was okay. For just one decent vegetarian option, it's hard to justify going to Pappasito's.

This is your basic Tex-Mex food chain restaurant. Nothing is very good, but its not all terrible either. The chips are too thin and greasy, and the red salsa leaves much to be desired. The margaritas are expensive, and the food portions over sized. The wait staff is overly friendly, to the point where its annoying, and there always seems to be too many people working. All in all I really loathe chains like this, something about the genericness of it all, as well as the presence of the masses. On the plus side, I did enjoy the fish tacos I got.

  • Andre H.

Food was great BUT we received the worst service ever!! Waited 20 minutes between appetizers and entrees, guacamole table side was done after appetizers and when our chips were done (waiter never proactively refilled drinks or Chips..we always had to ask), soup showed up same time as entrees so we sent it back and manager asked us why. And worst of all... All entrees were delivered EXCEPT the child's meal!!! They forgot to put it in and our waiter NEVER APOLOGIZED or came back to check on our screaming hungry 2 year old!!! Manager did but really, who cares at that point.,right? I will NEVER go back again for that BAD SERVICE! EVER!!!

I don't eat bacon and my quesadillas had bacon in it. The waitress didn't even inform me of this prior to ordering, she wasn't very attentive either. Food was average!

Mixed bag. Pros: good salsa, refried beans and mahi special, waiter brought me extra serving of beans w/o cheese after we told him I was lactose intolerant Cons: too loud (80-90 decibels) constantly, fish tacos were mediocre, service was somewhat slow. $50 for two people is kind of pricey too.

Love this place and it's totally worth the wait. A must try, you can't go wrong with their salsa, fajitas and natural margaritas. The atmosphere is busy and casual. The seating is a little close together so it made it a little difficult with an infant car-seat, but we made it work. If you have a wheelchair, it might mean waiting a little longer to get a table that gives you a bit more room to maneuver. The manager at this location is great and ensures his customers have a good dining experience. I wish they would bring one to Seattle!

I love everything is the best place ever! Although is loud and kind of dark but the food is great! Their chips and salsa is fabulose. The way they do the shrimps and their fajita is really tasty. The service was great, the guy would come by every 5 mins to see if we were ok! GREAT GREAT GREAT!!

Okay, so I find myself in Houston on business and the office seems to be located in the middle of nowhere so I was expecting boxed sandwiches to be brought in. Instead, the folks at the office we were visiting offered to take us out for lunch. We wind up at this Pappasito's Cantina location. Yes, it was a little crowded, though the wait was not long. Once seated, oh my. The chips and salsa were heavenly. Nuff said. I ordered the chicken fahita. The chicken was the tastiest I have every had served with fahitas. The peppers were great. But my oh my, the tortillas!!!!! They alone deserve five stars. I was very good and had just two with my meal, but I swear I could have eaten the entire basket. We saw the woman making them - some weird looking machine. Wish I had one in my kitchen! As it was, when we got back to the office I just felt like putting my head down and taking a nice food-induced nap. So of course, the next day the group of us visiting from out of town find ourselves on our own for lunch. Guess where we wind up, by mutual consensus! Yes, Pappasito's again. We waited even a little longer for a table, but not one of us wanted to go anywhere else. I ordered the exact same thing, and was equally, if not more, delighted. Dessert - who had room? Though they did look delicious. I have to be back in Houston on business in a few weeks, and I'm already getting my buds ready!

Knowing its a Papas restaurant, I had to have a good amount saved to go visit... Adam was our waiter and is very attentive and treats his customers right...from the littlest ones to my husband, who alternates between cranky old man to a childish smartarse. The review is on the restaurant and not on him, so here goes. The drinks. Yes, they were GOOD. I had a house frozen margarita and then a watermelon margarita...which was not margarita-like to me but more like a dessert-y cocktail concoction. Should have gotten a Wave like a people next to us had...that looked so yummy! Regardless, I was feeling no pain when we left, glad I wasn't the DD this trip. I had the trio of tacos, the shrimp brouchette taco was awesome! The other 2 were OK, too much chopped onion on there for me. The hubs had fish tacos, one grilled and one fried, he said they were good. I am not much on their beans, but their rice is the standard that I use to judge other mexican restaurants on. Overall, it was good but very pricey. Can get more bang for my buck at other places (our bill was over $100 due to the expensive bar bill).

I come here during lunch time at least once every 2 weeks with co-workers. Was just here Sunday having a nice Birthday dinner for my 17 Year old daughter, she absolutely loves it! The chips and salsa are great. Chips are the best I've had compared to other places. Crisp and flaky, you have to try them. We tend to always get the large size Chicken and Beef fajitas for two because they are amazing. You get rice and charro or refried beans, I personally love their charro beans. The chicken is so well cooked, my.daughter and son tend to go for the beef, where I am a chicken lover. Service here is great, very attentive, making sure we have dont run low on fresh flour tortillas, our drinks, etc. I would suggest you come before the lunch rush here so busy. We tend to be safe if we are walking in by 11:15 am just right before lunch rush hour. I recommend Wednesday's Fajitas for two half off (after 5pm). We love it so much we have them cater our yearly Christmas Party, our guys love it! If you are looking for quality well you will find it here.

Pappasito's is my favorite Mexican restaurant. The food is delicious (my favorite is the Spicy Chipotle Chicken and my husband's favorite is the Coronado dinner). The service is fabulous. We have a favorite waitress, and always ask to be seated in her section. I have been to all their locations in the north/northwest houston area, and love them all!

I have been there many times before but not recently, up until a few nights ago.. I frequented the Establishment yrs ago on a regular basis and fell in love with their Fajitas and skewers! yumm!! Had i written this review back then, it would have been a 4 star (at least) but sadly from my frequent visits, it is not what I remember. Service in the dining room is night and day from the Bar waiting staff.. Our waitress (maybe we had the best waitress ever) always checked on everything for us and took care of all our requests.. at the bar, a different story. We frequently found ourselves asking for essentials like napkins and silverware. Shame shame.. Bartenders did not mix drinks correctly (if you don't know how to make something, its OK. I'd rather order something else from the menu.. don't insist you can make it) They were on their phones pretty frequently and i heard too many personal conversations and arguments - very unprofessional.. there is a time and a place for everything, bickering in front of guests trying to enjoy their evening is not it! the food is probably the only reason i would go back.. My wife's selection (a shrimp and chicken plate) was phenomenal! another couple with us had their famous fajitas!! yummm!! I decided to try the Mexican brisket tacos.. kind of wish i hadn't : ( everything tasted very flavorful, but i just didn't care for it too much being so greasy. I'll definitely go back and try it again though, maybe sit in the dining room and order fajitas :) too many fond memories of the place..

This was not my first time to Pappasitos nor was it my first time to the location but overall it wasn't that great of an experience. Friday evening and this place was PACKED!! So packed it took a while to get a spot. Once I saw the line of people outside waiting I was glad we were meeting people who were already there. We sat down and I ordered a corona. IMO every Corona should be served with salt and lime!! Well apparently not everyone thinks so cuz my first one came sans salt & lime. UGH!! Now of course all the others I got from another waiter did come with salt and lime so that was strange. I got the grilled fish tacos and they were pretty good but nothing to scream about on yelp. I prefer Berry Hills Fish Tacos any day of the week. The salsa was pretty good but the verde salsa was blah and had a strange taste. Is Pappasitos adding Ranch or Sour Cream to this salsa?? I serioulsy thought WTFIUWTS (What the F is up with this salsa) Anyway the service was soooo bad!! I mean seriously BAD! No chips refills or salsa refills until we flagged another waiter. Ours was MIA so maybe he had to much verde salsa IDK. NOTE: Ones beer or alcoholic beverage should never be empty!! Everyone at the table was just waiting to get there drink on but it was happening too slow. Then when we were ready to pay and get out of the crazy atmosphere he was no where to be found. Then even when he brought us our checks I think a good 30 mins went by between us telling him we wanted to pay and us actually signing credit card reciepts. Come on Pappasitos!! Get it together.

Love everything about this place. Really good food, great drinks and great service. The ONLY item on their menu I don't really care for is their rice. It's not authentic Mexican rice to me. But everything else is great. I highly recommend the surf-n-turf chicken, beef & bacon wrapped shrimp they serve as a special every so often; their rice & shrimp appetizer is to die for! Enjoy.

I absolutely love this location. The staff is always attentive. My favorite employee is the sweet old gentleman that delivers the chips! The signature dish that we always order is the mixed chicken and beef fajita plate. My boyfriend and I always order the medium size and it's enough food for the two of us. I know this is a chain restaurant but I've searched high and low yet no where else comes close when it comes to fajitas, tortillas, and chips. The queso could definitely be better though.

The food here is above your average tex mex experience. I enjoyed the chips and salsa option. This is because I'm allergic to tomatoes and they have a non tomato salsa that's complimentary and full of flavor. The dishes are huge and should be shared with others. I enjoyed the seafood enchilada and it was MORE than I could imagine "size and flavor wise". The queso salad is a nice compliment to this dish. Hats off to the chef that created this garnish!!!!!

Delicious every time! Great service. The fajitas are amazing! The garlic butter keeps me coming back! I tried the watermelon margarita - didn't like it. They had no problem switching it out for me.

I have been disappointed lately in the Pappasitos closer to me, so I thought I'd give another location a try. Well this one wasn't any better. I think there has been an overall decline in service and food quality amongst the chain and a simultaneous increase in prices. I visited at lunch time and there was a 30 minute wait. Finally, we were seated outside which was okay since the weather was nice. What was not okay was the lack of service. Never got chips or refills. Only when our meal was brought out were we asked if we wanted chips and salsa. I ordered the chicken and rice, but had to send it back since half the soup had sloshed over the sides of the bowl and was all drippy and messy. The server seemed confused as to why I would want another bowl. I would have asked to see a manager, but unfortunately was pressed for time and anxious to get the check and go.

I had the pleasure of eating here with my family 7/5/15. It had a pleasant welcoming atmosphere and our waiter was friendly. I will definitely come to this location from now on. Thank you Amanda Smith with Pappas Guest Relations for the nice gesture it was greatly appreciated.

How I love Fajita Wednesdays. Yes you come to Pappasito's and you will pay a bit more than most Tex-Mex places. But, they do not have Fajita Wednesdays! Orders beef fajitas, and the cheese enchiladas, and talking about the perfect meal. They also make great Margaritas and the service is always good too! Stay hungry my friends,

One of my favorite restraunts hands down. I have never been disappointed by the food or service no matter what I order! I love going places where im not afraid to try a new plate. The meat melts and the seasonings perfectly balanced. Also ive never been disappointed by the service!

Just came from a lunch with a group of 30! We were in and out in 1.5 hours. Wow!! Great lunch options- and I have leftovers. Their chicken is excellent. Thin chips are another specialty, along with fajitas, homemade guacamole, and tortilla soup. Service is always on point. I recommend this location if you have a business lunch in the area!

Had the combo beef - chicken fajitas, both were very good. I love the drawn butter for the chicken and the fresh flour tortillas

I've come here a few times and the food is always amazing!!! A little pricey for me, but every now and then I treat myself! A group of us visited this location today for lunch and had the worst service ever!! We came in and were seated immediately, however after being seated we waited 10 minutes and no one came to take our drink order. We informed the manager and she jump into action! Offered us an appetizer and promptly brought us our drinks! We thought that was the end of the bad service, but we were sadly mistaken! The manager informed us of our waiters name and stated she would be right over long story short she never came and took our order...another waiter took our order! Once our food came she forgot part of one of the ladies orders and it took her 10 minutes to bring it! She checked on us another time but was never pleasant! So why the 4 stars?? Services is usually on point normally and once the manager came to double check on us we informed her of the continued bad service she immediately tried to correct the situation! Comp'd our meals asked if we wanted desert to go and give us a gift card! OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICES!!!

The most delicious infused, smoky flavored fajitas! Fantastic value for what you get - plenty of leftovers and I love that they give you extra tortillas for you to take home! Love Papasitos for great Tex Mex!

It's always a good time at Pappasito's, so many yummy dishes . Still celebrating my birthday we ordered the Nachos and when I say large portion oooooooh my gooodness. We tried, but there was a to-go box in our very near future, the same with dessert. Service is always great, great food, and good friends. What a way to enjoy an evening!

Delicious offerings of salsa and a very flavor filled Taco Trio. I would rate this place closer to three $ signs instead of the two $ signs as the prices are certainly in the $20-$30 range with high priced drinks as well.

  • Janine B.

Food here is pretty consistent & always tastes fresh. Some items with spice are not always noted on the menu. They have a pretty expansive Margarita menu with various styles of Tequila. This place is typically very noisy due to the concrete floors.

I cannot say enough about Pappasito's. The food is always delicious, the drinks are always yummy, and the wait staff is almost always very helpful. My mom and I went this past weekend and although there was a hiccup in her order (the place was swamped) they promptly revised the order and even sent us home with the original order free of charge. My ONLY complaint about Pappasito's (and this goes for every location), is that the interior is quite loud. If you prefer quiet, pick something else or sit outside. This is a great atmosphere for groups, kids, etc. Bonus, sit at the bar and get personal service.

Ehh...I have had better. If you like Chevys you will probably like this place. We started off with chips, guacamole, and salsa. Chips were good...guac and salsa were just ok. For an entree I got the fish tacos with rice and beans. The fish tacos were huge! Loaded with way too much cabbage and not enough lime. The rice and beans lacked flavor. My husband got the pulled pork quesadilla. He said it was pretty good. We probably wouldn't go back. The service was really slow and The food overall was forgettable and not worth the price.

Great service. Very friendly. This was my first time at this location. I had some previous bad experiences at some other Pappasito's and decided to try a different one. We arrived during dinner hours on a Friday, so the crowd was pretty live and packed. Despite the rush, we were seated quickly. Our server was quick, taking orders for drinks and appetizers after a few minutes of us getting our table. The drinks and apps came out quickly. We ordered Fajitas, which came out sizzling, which is nice, given our last experience with a Pappasito's we never got to eat them. Depsite the madness, our server remembered all of our requests and was quick with condiments and refills, even putting our last refill in to-go cups so we could take with us.

Great food!! Reasonable prices, clean environment, friendly and helpful service. Sito's is still my favorite place for fajitas. Service here is very consistent and so is the food. There may be long waits at time, but the bar is available. You're able to order from the food menu while sitting at the bar, as well. While sitting at the bar, I HIGHLY recommend the Top Shelf. Yums! Sito's offers half price fajita Wednesday (after 5PM) several times a year. Great deal!

I hate to love Pappasito's as much as I do. I generally avoid chain restaurants, but I'm a Pappasito's addict. I love the ground beef, the fajitas, the tortillas, the drinks, the shrimp & crab cocktail, the grilled shrimp tacos... I could go on. Thank you Pappasito's for being the main reason I can't move out of Houston. I love you.

Ok, let me start by saying, Pappasito's is actually my favorite Mexican restaurant in Houston. HOWEVER- this particular location, and only this location, has some of the absolute worst wait staff I've come across. It's terrible! I don't even know where to start. It's always something, at this location. Lets start with what's consistent- consistently you can come here and get a waiter who will not greet your table for over 10min, will not refill your drinks/chips/salsa without having been told, AFTER waiting for far too long. It's almost as if these ppl don't want tips. Waiters are supposed to be cheery...THESE waiters come across like they hate life and are bothered by getting a table. Uh??? Tonight we had a party of two and got sat at a six top. We waited for over 10 minutes , only to have a manager come ask of she could relocate us to a smaller table; not acknowledging the blatant lack of service. We kindly agreed to move and told her we were in a bit of a hurry. She had a bad attitude and came off very brisk. After she took our order we had at least 5 different wait staff through the course of our meal. I couldn't tell you who our waiter was if you asked, because we didn't seem to have one. Chips were never refilled; nor was our water, salsas etc. We both ordered tacos al carbon and they all came out burnt. I could go on, but it would take all day. This location needs to get it together.

Food was very good. HOWEVER, we had about 16 people and two servers, and food still took a while. Drinks were slow or forgotten. I had shrimp diablo and it was great, however, I think the meal was more expensive than what i received. I would probably go back, but drink more. Dessert was pretty good, split a brownie with ice cream with my friend (she paid, which was a plus). Environment was fun (though got a little dark inside as the sun set outside). I will probably go back.

Pathetic! I have grown to expect top notch everything from this place for the prices, but this latest price hike crossed the line! Place was ridiculously overpriced after their new pricing scheme. I thought I was at a used car dealership. Everything appeared to go up by 25%. The portions were smaller, there were few servers, place was dead and even the manager expressed displeasure with the new prices as he said, "No Comment!" @pappasrestaurants @pappasito'scantina

Had a very nice business lunch at Pappasito's Cantina today. Ordered the large size chicken/rice and avocado soup which came in a huge bowl. Chicken was well seasoned and succulent, the dish being a cross between a Mexican sancocho and a gumbo. Wound up eating at the bar as the joint was packed. Waiter/bartender was very nice and the service was excellent. All 3 of my business associates enjoyed today's lunch. Would be hard pressed to find anything wrong with this establishment.

Meat was so salty it wasn't edible, told the waiter and he brought sour cream, I told him it was still too salty to eat more than one of the three tacos (brisket), he said "he must have over seasoned it". We'll never return. Very expensive for the treatment and quality of food. BOO!!!

Gave Pappasito's another try on a busy Friday night with my boyfriend and his parents, and I must say we all had a GREAT TIME! Even though it was the dinner rush and we were told our wait for four would be about 30 minutes we got seated in about 15 minutes. Our waitress was on top of things, she made sure our drinks were never empty and it's like she knew what we wanted even before we asked for it. Now on to the food, as everyone knows Pappasito's is known for their fajitas, so tried the fajitas again and it wasn't salty but instead it was just right. We ordered the beef and chicken fajitas and they were cooked well with the right kind of seasonings. We came hungry and still took some leftovers home. BTW, if you order the sampler, it is HUGE but definitely worth it to taste a bit of everything. My boyfriend just told me that we had to go again because he enjoyed the food so much, so we're going back again for date night. Thank you Pappa's family!

I have been to this location serval times since my co-workers like to eat here and I have to say that each time it gets worse. The fajitas were serves cold with no sizzling what so ever. Our plates didn't come at the same time, it took 3 different and lengthy waits times. There are some strange combination of flavors such as brisket flautas...fail. The cheese enchiladas are a piece of solid, tasteless cheese.

This is my favorite mexican food in Houston. I look for it everytime I am in Houston and I love it. I specifically enjoy the steak tacos here. the steak is very soft and must be marinated for a while because it is just super soft! The service was perfect at this location and they were very attentative. I was here by myself because I was in town on business and it was everything I wanted and more....Thanks a bunch

I received a very nice written letter from the general manager after writing this review and I am incredibly impressed by this company taking care of their customers. I hate leaving negative reviews because I have worked In a restaurant before and understand how things can get busy and I'm sure it's easy to write angry patrons off but this says so much about their company and their passion to make people satisfied!

Restaurant has AAA+ service and food. Ask to sit in Charli serving area, I promise you he will deliver VIP service. I dined at this location on Saturday afternoon, and everything I received from the entrance on the parking lot until the exit was extraordinary. The GM Brian is definitely hiring the best staff, and visited our table to ensure our dining experience was to our satisfaction. My family has also held a birthday dinner at this location and received AAA+ service from entire staff. Pappasitos you Are Doing it Right.

  • Tanya D.

Maybe we caught this place on a bad night. It was very busy and I understand it takes a bit longer to get service when a restaurant is busy. But my boyfriend and I sat there for quite a while before our server showed up. She took our drink order and it was around ten minutes before we got our teas. We went with the fajitas. They were pretty good, though the beef was a little chewy. The beans were bland but the guacamole was great and very fresh. Our server disappeared and by the time we finally got refills on our drinks were pretty much finished with our meal. The place was very loud and I saw a few tables get up and leave after waiting for there servers to appear. The prices were a bit on the high side. Honestly, if I want fajitas, we will head over to Chuy's. They are better and half the price.
