Ah, Emeralds. Thinking back to my last visit to Waynesboro leaves me longing for some of your delicious fried catfish, crisp hush puppies, and refreshing sweet tea. Nestled nicely into the downtown square Emeralds offers some fine southern cuisine as well as that hospitality you come to expect from these down home gems. There is nothing glitzy, no gift shop, no t-shirts for sale, just pure down home cooking with a smile. The catfish dinner is extraordinary, you won't find anything like this in the north. Waynesboro neighbors the catfish capital of the world, so they had best do it right. Blackened or fried, I find it difficult to stray from such deliciousness for other menu items. Stop in and give it a try. Excellent.

Since it's the only act in town--enjoy. If you really know Mexican food you may be disappointed. The salsa and chips (usually warm implying fresh) is pretty good. The portions are fair as is the price, except fajitas (apparently their speciality) are a little pricey. I don't know, I just don't feel like I've had real Mexican when it's over. Oh, don't expect cerveza with your meal (and what's Mexican without it), solamente ice tea or coke.
