Confirmed Zabihah Halal! I called and confirmed, today, that all meat is Halal. That is so awesome since I only eat meat that has had the blood drained out before processing so to help avoid disease/viruses. That makes 2 places in Smyrna that serve Halal: Gyro Cafe & Maro's Gyros!!! I'll be dining here with colleagues/friends this week and will update :D

Greek salad with gyros meat. The meat was very bland, and not from a spit. Cucumber dressing also not impressive. The owners were very pleasant.

The service and food is always great!! My chicken is prepared fresh every time, seasoned well, the rice is NEVER overcooked and the owner is always kind! I love this place!! I visit a few times a month.

I love this place!! I used to eat here 1-2 times a week before I moved. The owners are awesome and the gyro or chicken sandwich is amazing. The gyro combo plate is also very good!

first lets talk about the name...i think its maro's gyros, but on the receipt it says maro kabab gyro...hmmm...and there have been some reviews posted under another name... anyways it was pretty damn good! not the best kababs ever, but for smyrna, tn it may be the best thing around! the family that runs it is egyptian and they are super nice - the mom (who takes your order) remembered us the second time we went there & saved me a baklava because i liked them so much. they have all your traditional greek / middle eastern items: gyro, falafel, dolmas, tabouhli, etc... most of my colleagues ordered a gyro - they are big & the meat is pretty tasty. i ordered a combo platter with dolmas, tabouhli, tzatiki, tahini, rice and spanakopita, it was delish! my fave was the tabouhli - nice & lemony the way i like it! one of my dining companions didnt like the hummus, its not at all thick (actually kinda watery), but she loved the flavor & ordered it both times we went there! overall its good- go get a gyro, watch a little tv while youre there, & chat with the owner!

I read the other reviews and went for lunch ; I thought it was " ok " not the best I've ever had but not the worst either ! I had the gyro ; they made with tomato and onions which I had asked for those to be left off ! I had to pick them out . Also had the stuffed grape leafs - they serve them hot ; i've always had them served cold so i was interested trying them hot ; I prefer them cold ! So ..... It was just " OK " ! This would not be my first choice to eat at !

My husband and I go here a lot. The food is excellent and when we call in our Togo orders Mrs Marro knows me by my first name. Very good service wonderful owners. I highly recommend for excellent Greek food.

The women was very rude & wearing flip flops while cooking! Health department no no! If I would of seen her in flip flops before I ordered I would of walked right out! They Forgot my extras that I paid for. Had to wait 25 mins for my 1 order. When I asked for my rice in a sep box. She asked why.. I shouldn't have to explain why I need that to be done. Also in the middle of ordering she answers the phone to take a Togo order does not even ask me to hold on a moment or anything.

I wish I could give this place a better review, but the customer service was so bad that the gentlemen in front of us almost walked out because of the cashiers rudeness. So I thought to myself, "maybe they just butted heads"? Then it was our turn to order and she was so rude to us that I almost said something to her in the middle of ordering, but we had only a short time to spend with my mom on her break, so we just stayed and said nothing but a smile and thank you. The food was good and that is why I gave 1 star. I believe that a review cannot be based on quality of food alone. A review is based on overall experience. The vibe is dull inside. The tables were dirty. You have to pay for fountain drink refills. The mens bathroom wasn't clean. I had a nice time with my family and I liked my gyro platter, but that was the 1 star. I wouldn't go back. I hope other people have a better experience.

The gyro sandwiches are amazing. The shaved gyro meat is delicious. I come here all the time. It's a popular place, I had to wait Friday night for my food.

The restaurant name for this listing is wrong. It is signed as "Maro's Gyro". And let me tell you, I normally don't go for gyros, as much as I love gyros. Why? Because they are a mess to eat and usually end up making me feel gross and greasy. But here, the gyro platter is awesome. The meat is nice and lean, the pitas are not dipped in oil, and you get a really good salad (get the cucumber dressing--who would get ranch instead?!) with it as a side. The shaved meat is such so you could eat it with a fork if you choose, and everything is delicious! Give it a try.

Very nice people and very good food. The food takes a little longer than you might expect but worth the wait.

Love love love this place. The best cucumber dressing anywhere. Friendly staff, clean establishment and perfect gyro every time. I eat here about once a month. I hope it stays around. Nothing comes close to being as good as Maro's.

Long wait time. About 20 minutes for a Gyro sandwich. Also it was prepared a bit different then what I'm used to at every other place that serves gyros. They stuff the meat in the pita vs folding the pita around it. Which actually made it less messy to eat. It was still a tasty sandwich. It just caught me a bit off guard. And the meat comes from a spit vs some places that have the pre-sliced meat, which is always a plus. The other people in my group had the gyro plate which had huge portions and pita cut into 4 pieces as well as a choice of fries or rice. Refills of soda will cost you 25 cents. If we are passing through again, I would stop here if I'm in the mood for a gyros sandwich.

I'm in Nashville a good bit for business, and I love Greek food! I stopped in to check it out, and of course get the gyro! Their platter is unreal! I dipped my gyro in their awesome cucumber dressing, and I could have eaten 2 they were so delicious! Clean environment, clean bathrooms, nice staff....great service. I'll be back next time I'm in Smyrna.

It is Maros' Gyro now. Now I ordered a Gyro with rice and a drink. The cucumber sauce and the onions didn't have a lot of flavor. Then they charge 25 cents a refill in your drink. I'll stick with the new Gyro shop on the corner of Sam ridley and weakly. That place is great. Very friendly staff excellent food. Good portions.

THE LOCATION: The location is in the Kroger shopping center on the right side of the road if you are traveling from I-24. FIRST IMPRESSION: Kebab has a small, family like atmosphere but still exudes a type retail type eatery. It is a very nice place and smell's wonderful as you enter through the doors. THE SELECTION: They have an avid selection of Med. food there included a Greek Sampler, Gyro platters and Baklava. THE FOOD: The food is absolutely wonderful. I have been to Greece with my wife and had Gyro's on the side street cafes in Athens and this place reminds me of just that. They shave the Gyro meat off the spit, grill it to a nice texture and serve. I ALWAYS, I repeat, ALWAYS get the Gyro platter because of its combination of flavors with the Taboli (sp?) and the cucumber sauce and rice they give you. My wife always get the Gyro Pita Sandwich & Rice and she loves that too! THE PRICE: This place is priced just right for the food. It is great for families and you will not leave hungry. OVERALL: This place will always be a favorite of our no matter where we live and we will always go back every time we are in Nashville. I would highly recommend it to anyone for some good Greek/Med food.

Nothing special about the decor or ambience. Commercial tile floor, tv is usually too loud and they charge for refills. ..and I promise you won't care one bit. Food is amazing, consistent and extremely fresh. Family owned and operated by people who remember your name and order. One of my personal faces...
