I am beyond impressed with this place. The food was pretty good, but I was mostly impressed with the service and management. Our server was so friendly and helpful. But what really got me was this- they have like 6 different bbq sauces at the table for you to try. They asked me and my boyfriend which was our favorite. We told them our two faves and a few minutes later the manager came over with two full bottles of our favorite sauces and gave them to us for free- just because! It really impressed me. Will definitely go back to this place!

This was pretty good! It's a chain bbq joint, so it's not quite the same as those awesome little hole in the wall bbq places. But, the selection is good, the prices are reasonable, and the portions are large. They have a few tasty sauces as well, 2 of which they don't leave out on the tables and you have to ask for. There was a hot pineapple one that I liked a lot!

If you are like me, you are skeptical of all chain restaurants. But when you are in Smyrna you don't have that many non-chain options and I've never tried a Famous Dave's so I wanted to give it a go. Saturday at 11:30AM this place was stone cold dead. Great - we were immediately seated and our waiter came out fast. He introduced himself as "Famous Tony" or whatever his name was. Hahahaha sure. Drink orders were taken fast. Sadly I was working so no alcohol but they do have a bar there if you want some booze. The menu has things like pulled pork, brisket, chicken, and rib plates and then BBQ sandwiches, etc. There was also a pretty large selection of sides. I decided to get the combo ribs + pulled pork plate so I could try everything. It came with two sides and I chose the mac and cheese and the green beans. The plate also comes with a slice of bread under the pulled pork, a cornbread muffin or roll, and a small ear of corn on the cob. OMG heaven! So here's how it breaks down. Ribs: I'm not a rib person and these didn't change my mind. Just ok. Pulled pork: pretty damn good honestly. The sauce on the table called "Devils spit" was the perfect compliment. I really liked that sauce. Spicy but still thick and hints of sweetness. NOM NOM NOM. Mac and cheese: 4 cheeses (I think it was 4) perfectly melty and creamy over macaroni. It also had little kernels of corn and little pieces of jalapenos in it!! OMG this was absolutely awesome. Green beans: not only ham hock in ithem to give them flavor, but also little roasted potatoes. Corn: corn on the cob is always good. Cornbread: sweet, moist, delicious I left here stuffed to the gills and pleased (and somewhat needing a nap). I didn't even deduct a star because Famous waiter boy forgot to bring us out chips while we waited because the food was pretty damn good. A+ chain!!

This is the best chain BBQ place I have been to. I went here today for the first time and I am glad I did. This place has Excellent food. We got a 2 person sampler patter with several items on it and split it 3 ways...and there was still too much for us. here is my opinions of what I tasted: Chicken - excellent - the best I have had at a BBQ place Ribs were good (I have had better...but these were good) Beef brisket was very good ( tender, flavorful, not fatty), Pulled pork was good, Fries - eh...did not really care for these Corn bread was really good, Baked beans were really good, Corn was fairly decent my son said his cheese burger was excellent. they had 6 sauces on the table so we could experiment with various flavors. I really liked most of these. Service was above average - It did not take long to get a bunch of food. Waitress took care of us- she had lost her voice - but still did a great job. I liked the music and ambiance I will come here again and would recommend this to anyone and everyone.

Came here for Sunday dinner after church. The restaurant was vert accommodating, being that we were a large party of 15, with no reservation. We were seated in about 10 minutes. The food was really good. I didn't have high expectations being that it was a chain BBQ restaurant. While we looked thru the menu we were given potato chips so that we could sample all of the sauces. My husband and I ordered the feast for 2. It came with ribs, roasted chicken, and either chopped pork or beef brisket, two sides, corn and cornbread. It was all DELICIOUS and only $30! Check it out if you want inexpensive BBQ.

Wednesday night. Plenty of food and drink specials. Excellent service. Smoked chicken wings and BBQ burnt ends beyond taste bud belief. A must visit!

Famous Dave's is probably my favorite *chain* BBQ place in the area. Now it doesn't hold a candle to the mom and pop places, but I've never had a bad meal here. Went later on a Thursday night, it was pretty empty but we didn't mind, as long as we could watch the first NFL game of the season. The bar area has a few TVs but a couple of them are very dated. They have a full bar from what I saw, not typical in some BBQ places. I always get the Georgia Chopped Pork and I've never been disappointed. Some of their sides are a little different, like jalapeño Mac and cheese and a somewhat spicy version of baked beans. I love love LOOOVVVEEE their cornbread muffins and the fact they have five different sauces. The Texas pit sauce is my personal favorite, peppery and smokey. Yyyuummm! Service was attentive and pleasant, no complaints there. Price is good for the amount of food you get and it's definitely worth the drive to Smyrna from other areas like Murfreesboro.

As far as we are concerned it doesn't get better than this barbeque. The sides are just perfect additions to make for an awesome meal. My daughter introduced me to their bread pudding and now we are addicted. We don't indulge often but if you want a real southern barbeque meal with all the trimmings. Go here!

If you like chicken wings, theirs are smoked and delicious. With house made blue cheese for dipping, I can hardly wait to eat here when I visit Tennessee. All the meats and the cornbread are very good. I don't care for the sides, but then I usually don't. Yum!

Stopped for late lunch excellent service throughout the meal. The ribs were great with and very flavorful. The cornbread muffins are sweet and more like dessert still very tasty. Everything seemed very fresh. The restaurant was very clean and restrooms well stocked. Would visit again.

Didn't know what I wanted for lunch until I saw the Famous Dave sign. I can say this is the best BBQ that can be purchased. The only issue was the service. I had to wait about ten minutes before someone noticed I was there. I was thinking about leaving but really wanted the BBQ and it was worth the wait. I feel sorry for the two that left because of the service was so slow but once the noticed me the service did get better. The rib tips and chicken wings were really, really good.

Stopped for lunch and had Georgia pulled pork sandwich special. Pork was tastee but way too much fat on sandwich. A real disappointment

This was my first experience at a Famous Dave's, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The Superb: The pork was moist, and the variety of BBQ sauces was impressive. The cornbread was also very tasty. The Average: The waiter/bartender was very nice and did his job well. Prices are average. The Horrid: The beef brisket was surprisingly tough and tasteless. The sides were all over-salted, and the corn was so overcooked it was chewy. I have definitely had better BBQ, and I am sure there are better places to try in the greater Nashville area. The saving grace of this trip was the pork and the BBQ sauce!

Decent pulled pork, but avoid the ribs. Service was good and they have Yeungeling on tap!

We very seldom visit Chain Q places but decided to try Dave's outside of the usual one we stop by in Orland Park, IL. We don't like Dave's up north so decided to try this one hoping for better. But it was even worse than up north. I got the burnt end sandwich which was burnt sauce over bad meat. Absolutely terrible. My wife got a small sauced rib and we took a chicken sandwich with us. All were so salty we threw I everything out. The Chicken sandwich was also so salty we threw it out too. Management there admitted to the saltiness but offered no refund or a new order. He said sometimes the kids in the back don't shake the rub mixture enough while putting it on the meat and has to remind them from time to time. Not a good explanation so we will never go there again or the one in Orland Park.

Famous Dave's is a great local chain. The service is always fast & friendly. The cornbread is yummy, moist & sweet. I had the boneless wings with the Hawaiian sauce & blue cheese. I love the potato wedge/fries they have. All the BBQ sauces are great. If it's your first time the manager is supposed to come over & give you a bottle to take home, but that didn't happen for us.

Famous Dave's...Brought my fiance here for mothers day and she thinks I am the man now!!!! . THE GOOD: Man the food here is pretty good!! Being I'm from TX where I feel the State that created good Barbeque, this place can hold its on! Best Part is the cornbread mufins...mmmmm reminds me of grandma's cornbread! so good I ordered 3 to take home. The few selections of Barbeque sauce were not very impressive but to each his own. They give you a choice of barbecue sauce to take home which i think is pretty kool. Prices not to bad, paid about $30 bucks for 3 of us but we also had appetizers and extra cornbread...:)! THE BAD: Hard as hell wooded seats so its a good thing the food makes up for it!...other then that I will return!

Some of the better BBQ i've had since moving to Nashville. Their pulled rivals any I've had. The ribs are also pretty good.. I had the Dr. Pepper monster rib (can't remember the specific name), I wasn't impressed with it. Everything else we've had has been very good though! Service has always been very good, food comes quick and the servers are solid.. We'll be back
