This was our second trip here. Both times, the food was exelent. When you order, they bring you a good amount of food, but it's a bit light in the meat department. They seems to do this, because they offer free seconds. Giving you a lighter portion, to make up for it. A good plus is, seconds can be ANYTHING from their menu, it doesn't have to the same as your first meal. The food is EXELENT! It couldn't be much better. Service is friendly, but they sometimes seem to wander off to do other things for long periods of time. Such as fiddling with the salad bar for 15 minites, and nothing else. My ONLY real complaint is, knowing how little meat they give you, you can't ask for more right away, you have to wait till you eat everything, to ask for seconds. Would 1 more piece of chicken on my plate hurt? That's the only thing I ask for, for seconds. If I had it, I wouldn't even ask for seconds. Also. The first time we came, they had some nice, tasty pies for desert. Desert comes with the meal. Reasonably priced. This time, all they had was some rather dry pudding cake. seems odd to offer good, home made pie 1 day, and some boring pudding cake, another. All in all, the food is still great, you get as much as you would want, and we will defiantly be back.

This place is just what Smyrna needs! A family friendly environment where seconds are free!!! Could it get any better than that. The food is great and we love the service!

Sorry to say but this place is not good..the food did not seem fresh and the taste was sort bland. Service was friendly but very slow.. The place looks nice but could be a little cleaner.. Driving up and walking at first I would have thought this place to be better.. Was sort bummed by the result..

If you want an all you can eat country Buffett this is it. The food and sides were all southern fine. The atmosphere isn't as cute as Cracker Barrel but the food was better.

New meat and three, location hasn't been best for other businesses that have been there. Tried breakfast this morning and it was just ok, not terrible but more diner like. The cost makes it worth it, I'll eat here again as the customer service was great and the option of getting 2nds is always a plus.

I had breakfast at buddy's today. I was a bit skeptical of their menu setup. You have only 2 choices. Either a "breakfast bowl" described as consisting of potatoes, eggs, sausage, bread and gravy, or choice of French toast or pancakes with an omelette, grits, and a side. I really just wanted some eggs and ham, but figured I would give the breakfast bowl a try. It turned out to be a scoop of this disgusting mixture of bread mashed up in eggs and sausage with potatoes and gravy on top. I'm all for a good breakfast casserole or a nice skillet but this was neither. It was like a really bad savory bread pudding. Gravy was made from a powder, which is disappointing considering how easy and cheap it is to make from scratch. I also got a side of fruit which, despite the "farm fresh" on the sign, definitely came out of a can, and some me country ham which must have been in a warmer all morning because it was like beef jerky. My fiancé got the other option. The French toast and omelette were okay but not great. They forgot the French toast initially and we were almost done eating when they finally brought it out. Her turkey bacon tasted like the freezer it came out of, as did her pastry. If you want to serve canned fruit, powdered gravy, and frozen pastry that you probably bought at SAMs, that's fine. Just don't put farm fresh on your sign. I will not be returning. They will probably be closed in a month.

Prime rib was cooked and seasoned beautifully. The service was amazing and the fact that on Fridays and Saturdays you can get unlimited reorders on the surf and turf (excluding prime rib) is a great deal. If I lived in this state I would go here every week.

We decided to come here since cracker barrel was so busy. We were hoping for breakfast but it was linch time. The food was very good. Collard greens, sweet potato, was all amazing. Service was excellent and we will definitely come back.

UPDATE: After posting my original review, management contacted me and said that based on my comment they have now added fried okra to the menu. I went in the next day and tried it. Superb. That's engaged management. They've won my heart.

All you can eat catfish nite was a great deal! Can't wait for prime rib nite... Wish they wet naps for the greasy fingers! Salad bar looked decent - will have to try that next time.

Slow service. Food just wasn't all that great. Salad bar needed restocking. I don't know if they had staffing issues. I wish I had spent my time and money elsewhere.

My wife and I went for breakfast late in the morning. It's was our first visit to Buddy's. I had the breakfast bowl and my wife had the pancakes and omelette. Both of us thought the meal was excellent, especially the home fries. We will definitely come back again soon. I wouldn't change anything about the food. Service was great and the place is setup for a large crowd - perfect for a meat and three.

Delicious home style food! Loved the fried chicken and collard greens!!! And we had a large party with a lot of kids...their prices for kids were VERY WELL PRICED. I hate paying an arm and a leg for my 3 and 1.5 year old to nibble. ANDY my kids loved it and ate everything on their plates. Overall great experience with great service!!

We went to Buddy's on their first Sunday open. I had fried chicken and collard greens and begged for more of both! The breeding on the chicken was perfectly crispy and the meat tender and juicy. The collards were the best I've had in a long time! The service was precious, lots of polite and friendly staff. Management was engaging with customers as well as helping in the kitchen as needed...it always makes me smile to see managers who help!! We will return and are planning on taking family from out of town there during Christmas break! I encourage anyone to eat at Buddy's! The people that left poor reviews were at the very beginning so they must have worked out some kinks because we were very pleased!

Went twice. The second time they started me with one little fried thigh. After I finished it was told it would be 20 minutes before I could get more. It's all you can eat if you want to wait forever for your next plate. Wont be back ever...

We just got home from Buddy's Eatery after putting off going for several weeks. I wish we had not waited so long. I got the Catfish with fries, hush puppies and white beans. My fiance got the Prime Rib with Cabbage and green beans. I LOVED IT! The fries were a bit on the skimpy side, but the fish was nice and meaty, the hush puppies and white beans complemented each other fabulously. The prime rib tasted good, and that's from a guy that never cared for it. Then there were the desserts and salad bar. Salad bar was decent but a bit spartan, Desserts were delicious. I got a piece of brownie type pie and she got some blackberry cobbler. She liked mine more than hers, so we sorta traded up, cuz that's how I roll... LOL! Oh, speaking of rolls, they also give you a couple of them with some amazingly delicious sweet yellow cornbread while deciding what you want from the menu. Service was also good and attentive without being OVERLY attentive (like every 5 minutes.). The prices were very affordable, especially with a coupon. Cons: Where we sat, there was a pneumonia hole blowing right on us and we were ffffrreeeeezing. The place creates sort of an echo also, so the live music sounded a bit muffled, although the performer did a great job and was tip worthy. The salad bar was a bit sparse, but was decent for a basic salad. I totally plan on a return, especially on the all you can eat catfish night. If you are in Smyrna and looking for that whiskered river delicacy, just save yourself some time and go here. All the other places are decent to mediocre at best. I rarely rank a dining place this good, but to me, this place has the right idea and I hope they say around a good long time. Five Stars for Buddy's Eatery.

First of all, to all you culinary professional, this is not a fine dining establishment. It's a meal and three. In my opinion we should help support local owned and operated businesses. I was here for breakfast and it was good and a great price. I only found two flaws with our meals. First my grits were too dry but with a little butter and salt they were ok. Second my partners oatmeal wasn't eatable no matter what he did to it. The place offers seconds on almost every meal so we got something different than pays for a second. The country ham is really country ham not store bought crap they can country ham. This restaurant is providing a great service to the community. Good food at an very affordable price. The serving staff is also very fast and attentive. I hope that I will be able to get into here one Tuesday night for the all you can eat catfish. Way to go and keep up the good work.

Went here for breakfast with my fiancé and it was horrible! The service was slow but the food was worse. I had the #2 option.... Omelet was ok (you have to really try to mess that up) but they forgot my french toast which didn't arrive until after I was finished with everything else. My turkey bacon tasted like the freezer, and I didn't eat anything but the omelet. My fiancé food was some horrible mash of bread and breakfast items in a bowl... Gross. As a culinary professional, I can't believe this place has remained open for the months it has. We stated our opinions to the server when I paid the bill. She basically argued with us about it being bad. Um, no, it was bad. Really, really, really bad actually. She didn't even offer to remove the uneatable items from our bill. But I wouldn't expect anything less from this place. Their sign that reads "farm fresh" is obviously untrue. I'm actually a bit sorry this place will show up on my check ins.

I really wanted to like this place...the service is friendly, but unfortunately the food is just not that good. The crispy chicken was ok (no where near as good as Princes, Arnolds or Jeff's Family Restaurant). The roast beef was tough...the mac and cheese was mushy and bland. Don't know what else to say..when an unskilled cook like myself can make better food than an eatery, you're doing something wrong.

How do I start off. 2 words "SLOW SERVICE!" The service is just plain bad. My server had no clue on, and there was no excuse. I went during my lunch time and the place was empty besides myself and 2 other people. I'm like great! It's not busy so it should be fast service right?! ....Wrong! This lady didn't know her right arm from her left. She was not attentive at all. As for the food...it was "MEH!"...."COLD!" Nothing to write your family home about. Over all the food and service was definitely substandard. There are other meat and three places out there. Avoid this one!

We had been eagerly anticipating the opening of Buddy's Eatery. So, the week they opened my family and I went in to give them a try. It was the worst dining experience I've had in Smyrna. The servers were scattered and disorganized. We sat for 10 minutes before any one came over to get our drink order, despite the wait staff out numbering the diners. Our food came out 25 minutes after we ordered. Every thing was ice cold and inedible. My wife didn't want to make a fuss and ate her cold meal. I sent mine back and after 3 minutes in the microwave was piping hot. We were told that the steam table was broken. Which, if they aren't keeping the food at the proper temperature, makes that a breeding ground for food borne illness. As far as "farm fresh" goes everything tasted like it came off the Sysco truck. My wife couldn't eat hers and just gave up. The diners at the next table also dropped their napkins over their barely touched food and asked for the check. Speaking of the check, it's pretty pricey for cold, inedible food. No effort was made by anyone in charge to apologize to any of the customers over the poor quality of food that made it to the dining room. The dining room itself is a huge space without any acoustic baffling to absorb the sound. Combined with the radio being pumped in over speakers, it's not a great space to have conversation with your dining companions-- especially in the unlikely event the restaurant is full. We want small, local restaurants to succeed in Smyrna. As excited as we were for them to open, now I'm looking forward to them closing and a good restaurant to take their place.
