I was in Smithville for work, and as I hadn't eaten lunch I was looking for something to eat. Of course, I consulted Yelp! This place was the only thing I was in the mood for. Smithville suffers from the small town America syndrome - whereby you have small independent restaurants and fast food and chain restaurants. I am of the opinion that I always want to support local businesses - small businesses and non-chain restaurants. So today Los Lobos fit the bill. I walked in and the staff were friendly and attentive. Typical Tex-Mex. Chips, salsa (with cilantro cut up in it - added a nice touch) and a standard Mexican Lunch menu. Service was incredibly fast and efficient. I opted for the lunch burrito. You get incredible value in the lunch menu -as I didn't see anything on the lunch menu that cost more than 6$. When it came it was served "wet" and the burrito itself was mostly without flavor. The beans and rice were good. But overall I was "meh". Paid my bill and off I went. Again, I would rather support this place than any of the chains in town. I saw this other restaurant called the "White Possum" which sounded good (and based on the Yelp reviews also) -but the address in Yelp was incorrect. I later saw the White Possum on my way back to the freeway back to Nashville, with a belly full of Mexican from Los Lobos. :( If I ever find myself back in Smithville, I will not return to Los Lobos. I also did see another Mexican restaurant on my way out of town. The restaurant did the job of making me full. And I can't really complain about the price.

I am a FAN of this restaurant. Tony and I went hiking at Burgess Falls State Park and after 4 hrs of hiking fun we were hungry. We took the back road on Rt 70 back home to Nashville from Sparta, TN and we stopped in Smithville Tn for late lunch! So, why not a little MEXICAN FOOD...I love mexican food!!! ( is that politically correct?) anyway, I love it. We went into the restaurant and it was packed. They greeted us immediately and put us in a great booth. They took our drink order immediately and brought us some chips and salsa. Great salsa but a little too much cilantro ...but I love cilantro!!! Tony ordered a bottle of Budweiser and I ordered an unsweet tea with lemon and lime. Tony ordered a Chimichanga (steak) with great cheese sauce with side of refried beans and mexican rice...I stole his pico and guacamole sauce...(love it love it love it) and I ordered a lunch portion of chicken and steak fajita ( I didn't eat the flour tortillas) I ate it like a salad with my side of mexican rice and refried beans with guacamole and pico sauce..it was so delicious!!!! I would go there again!! Definitely go there again !!! The entire meal with drinks, food and taxes and tip was only $26...AWESOME food and Awesome price!!! if you are in Smithville TN, check out this restaurant !

An extensive menu is hard to live up to... but they do it here! I just had the Chimichanga Supremas and my wife at the Taquitos (sp), shared, and it was all excellent. Hardly any waiting for the food; it came hot and quick!

This was my second time eating here. Its by far the best Mexican food in Smithville. I had the chicken chimichanga. It was very good.

My husband and I have eaten at Los Lobos several times, and the food is always tasty, fresh, and served in ample portions. The wait staff is friendly and attentive, and the manager/owner generally makes his way around the dining room to ask patrons how well they are enjoying their meal and if everything is OK. Drink refills are free, and they're generous with salsa and chips. Entrees and combination platters are reasonably-priced, but for the location, add-ons like guacamole and queso dip seem a bit pricey, though both of those items are as delicious and fresh as everything else on the menu. Smithville is a dry county (aside from designated resort areas, so don't set your heart on splashing back some margaritas with your meal, but I understand that a recent beer referendum will allow them to serve beer as long as everything comes through during the permit process. Keep your fingers crossed for that!! The dining room and restrooms are kept clean and neat. I definitely recommend.

Stopped by for a quick lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The place isn't much on looks, but the staff was friendly and the food was good. The menu was quite extensive and contained more authentic items than most other local Mexican restaurants. We had an order of the bean nachos-delicious! We also asked to try the green sauce and our waitress brought a bowl. Also delicious! But spicy, so watch out. My one complaint would be that, while the flavor of the red salsa was good, it was much too thin. Didn't really stick to anything.
