It's a buffet, so the food isn't great over all. I do like that you can get steaks made for you. The things I liked the best where the pot pie and okra. The salad bar is pretty good. I really liked having the chocolate pudding cake with a bit of ice cream on top. The staff is really friendly. If you are going to go look for a coupon otherwise you will feel like it was too expensive.

This is a great place to go when you're hungry. Or have a bunch of people with differing tastes. Ryan's is one of those feel good comfort food buffets. The steak is made the way you want it, the mashed potatoes are to die for, and the desserts... oh the desserts..... It's only $5 if you go for lunch (before 4) except on the weekends. then its the whole $9.99 which is still not a bad price for good food and lots of it.

This would be 5 stars if it was solely based on staff, but the food is what dropped it to 3 stars, if it was based solely on food I would have only given it 2. Cameron greeted us at the door with a smile and a great sense of humor, my brothers always love it when they can joke around and it's reciprocated. He was great and cracked us all up a couple of times. Melanie, the manager helped us figure out coupons so we could feed a big group on a budget and Sarah, our server, was very prompt in filling waters and clearing used plates. All the staff was friendly and did a good job. They should be commended. The restaurant was pretty clean and well lit. It was slow when we arrived but everything was stocked up and refilled quickly as they started to get busy. We did find several plates in the clean stack that didn't get washed completely and had old food stuck on them. But we know how the dishwashing process works, so we didn't freak out. As far as food goes, the only thing worth mentioning positively were the cooked to order sirloin steaks. The grill cook did a great job with them and it was the only thing on the buffet that we all liked. Otherwise, honestly, the food was abysmal. It seemed like the vegetables were all frozen and any other meat dishes were way too greasy and just plain odd flavors. Everything was either bland or overcooked mush. Even the dessert bar, which used to be the highlight, was sub-par with the molten cake being the only thing that was worth trying. I understand that Ryan's is a lower cost, senior oriented buffet. But I remember a time when they offered a good value, quality homemade food for a reasonable price. Now it seems like they've tried to cut their food cost so low that it's not worth eating at any price. If they would pay to have a professional chef doing quality control on their dish preparation, they could improve quite a bit even without menu change. If it hadn't been for the steaks and the fact that we got 50% off full price, we would have requested a refund and left. Next time we will visually check the buffet before we pay.

We pulled into there today 6/22/15 at approx 7pm. With approx 30 elderly passengers on a tour bus. After everybody was unloaded and waiting in line to pay, they informed us that they could not handle a group our size. What would they have done if 15 couples would have come in? So all of they elderly passengers had to re board the bus to take them across the street to Golden Coral. Ryan's lost a huge amount of money due to that. We will never stop at any Ryan's in the future unless this can be rectified. Jhuntou812@gmail.com

WHO the Hell under 30 eats at Ryan's anymore?!?! lol Ryan's has been around for generations now, so much to the point that if your lucky and out of town, and LOST ON A BACK STREET somewhere....you may just find yourself eating at Ryan's. Back in the day this is the spot where EVERYBODY in church including the pastor went here after Sunday service! Now, when we went I only saw senior citizens in there and one little kid with his grandparent's that kinda made me feel old lol but I must admit the food was VERY GOOD AND PROMPT! even though they were packed out due to it being the day after Christmas, our wait was less then 3 Min's and our food order about 10mins from the time we placed it! Soooo I guess if I'm in that area or have reached that "Where the Hell is my Good 'N' Plenty?!" age I will be back! :)

Ryans Buffett in Sevierville is where we went for dinner this evening and I have to say Ryans you should be ashamed to even call that food. We knew before hand that several people had said it was pretty bad but we wanted to see for ourselves just what was what. It was not really that busy but we found that the people working there looked like they were over worked. And some even under showered. Yes our waitress was due for a hair wash at least a week ago. At first it appeared that there was a good selection of food to choose from. However we found that a lot of items were not really stocked up, (Maybe it was end of evening?) Decided to try a steak from the grill. Asked for a medium piece. I got a medium rare piece. No biggie. About 6 ounces big. Found out 4 ounces was fat and gristle. The low end of the steak pool from the looks and taste. Tried the mac and cheese. Always a favorite and easy fix. Took a couple of bites and then realized the taste was off. I am thinking you can only reheat it so many times before it becomes something different. Alrighty then. Decided to try the fish. I do like a good piece of fish. Too bad I didn't find it in the fish spears. Yes fish spears!!! They were not shaped like any fish I had ever seen. I am pretty sure these fish spears quite being fish about 3 days ago because I found that I now had a taste in my mouth that resembled copper pennies. So far 3 out of 3 dishes have now made it to the wow it sucks category. Ok maybe I am just not picking the right food on this buffett so I decided to go with a couple of yeast rolls. Ate one and thought not bad... I started to cut into the next one so I could butter it up and found it a little tough for the steak knife to cut into. So I thought if I hit it with the knife it would comply. But lo and behold when I hit it with the knife it sound like thud, thud and thud. You know that sound when you drop your shoes on the floor after a hard day of work sound? Yeah thats it.... So now I am sitting there and debating on what to assault my stomach with next when we saw a guy bring out some baked potatoes from the kitchen for the sweet little old lady who wanted one. I have to say the guy that brought the baked potatoes out did a great job because those taters looked exactly like the the sweet little old lady. Yes you are correct if you are thinking shriveled up and wrinkled and miscolored. Those taters looked older then the old woman who was getting one. Appeared like they were days old and had been left in a cooker to warm all day. So now it was time to try the desert bar. Found a piece of coconut pie which I ate first and some banana pudding in a cup. Coconut pie was actually ok. Now the banana pudding on the other hand.... Lets just say I took one bite off the top of which I was expecting to be whipped cream but instead found that I had put something in my mouth that resembled left over snow someone sprayed on their window at winter time (Don't ask how I know this) !!!! WoW.... That was it I was done and it was time to go. Lets just say the gorgeous woman by my side this whole time agreed about how bad this place was. The filth in this is place is pretty bad. Grease and dirt everywhere. I suspect the coating of grime on the glass above the food is there to keep the light off of the food so people don't realize just how bad it looks and is. I have spent many years in food service and I have to say that the food served here at ryans is very low cost food. I think they may buy from the same company that serves prisoners. But I can't be sure. However We will never go to Ryans in Seveirville again and will never recommend anyone else. to...
