Amazing!!!! We held out breath and listened to the reviews of excellence.. And were super surprised!! So good!! Coming from california I feel like a Mexican food snob due to the amazing cooks we have in LA. But this place is delish!! The white queso is outstanding! Don't be scared by the run down mom/pop style of the restaurant .. Just eat the food!! Soooooo good! Def make the stop ! Then go across the street to the Pilot truck stop and rent a movie on the orange kiosk called digiboo the staff will give a free code !! You can download into a tablet or smartphone! Awesome!

We eat here every weekend! All food is great but our favorites are the shrimp fajitas or the Texas delight. Service is extra speedy, the staff is friendly, the food is cheap and delicious, and the restaurant is very clean. Can't go wrong!

One of the top Mexican restaurants I've been to. I was expecting a hole in the wall but was surprised to see a nice restaurant. They have huge portions for little price. You won't regret coming here.

This place was great. We ordered the cheese dip and spinach dip as appetizers- delicious. We had the 16oz T-Bone and Shrimp Chimichanga- scrumptious. Awesome chips and salsa. Great place for date night- good food, quaint atmosphere.

We were not sure what to Expect, just traveling up I-75. To our surprise, excellent service, huge portions that we could not finish, and wonderfully prepared foods - El Rey Shrimp Special (delightful red chili sauce, mild, but zingy) & shrimp chimichanga (great balance of flavors and textures in a huge serving). We will stop next time through!

What a surprise finding this gem alongside the freeway in the middle of nowhere in rural Tennessee along I-75. Clean, modern, decorated very well and laid out better than any Mexican restaurant I've seen in awhile. Better yet....the food is served up quite well. Salsa and chips are top notch. Cheese dip too. Here for lunch with the group, so sampled several lunch specials. If I am back on I-75, I'll stop back for sure. Nice folks. Great service.

Slow service, but good food for a dive off the highway in the middle of nowhere. Pay up front and not at the table.

Very nice surprise - the enchilada verde was absolutely delicious and the portions very generous. My husband had the chicken chimichanga and it was very tasty! Their prices were very reasonable too!

Excellent food! Great, quick, friendly service! Absolutely love this restaurant. All of the staff is super friendly and great about accommodating. They are very quick to seat you. Try to keep wait time to minimums, but either way they are so worth the wait! Would highly recommend!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
