High Cholesterol at Whataburger

Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Well, you can always try the Lighter & Smaller options from the menu to cut down your fat intake. Opting for grilled sandwich or burgers are preferred compared to double meat or triple meat cheesy burgers which contain high cholesterol.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for High Cholesterol

Cut down on your meat intake to control your high cholesterol. You must skip Double Meat Whataburger and Triple Meat Whataburger at all costs. Whatacatch Dinner may sound tempting but the famous fish sandwich is also full of calories and unhealthy fat. Having moved to Nashville from California my husband and I crave In-N-Out often. Quick side note, for those that compare Burger Shack or In-N-Out burger to the likes of Burger Republic or Burger Up: you are comparing apples and oranges. In-N-Out is California comfort food. Moving on, overall the food is good, but there is room for improvement. Burgers - Great! 5 stars! Right in line with In-N-Out. I got a hamburger with lettuce and grilled onions. My husband got a double cheese burger with no tomatoes and grilled onions. Both of us agreed our burgers were as close to In-N-Out as we could hope for in TN. Fries - Decent. 3 stars. We just got regular fries. You could tell they were frozen fries. However the seasoning was good. The thing the makes In-N-Out fries some of the best ever are that they are fresh cut and thin. Invest in a fry cutter and Burger Shack could come close. Milkshake - Good. 3.5/4 stars. Milkshakes were good not great. The straws were pretty thin and made the shake extra difficult to drink. If I were Burger Shack I would invest in some thicker straws for milkshakes. Overall, Burger Shack is doing a decent job living up to In-N-Out standards and hits the spot when I am craving an In-N-Out burger. Just work on the fries and it will be a 5+ star place.

Cold fries, non English speaking staff who are more interested in horsing around than serving guests. Older female manager who looks semi retired could care less. My last visit here for sure. Awful!

Being from California I don't know if anything will beat In and Out but these burgers come close. I just wish their fries were fresh cut potatoes. So happy they are down the street from us!!! Yummy burgers

Burgers , fries and shakes were all great! Worth the drive from Nashville! Wish we had one in Indiana!!

The burgers were fresh cooked while we waited and it didn't take very long at all. Place was busy but service was quick. Well worth the money. Considering this was the most expensive item on the menu.

I have found burger heaven. Absolutely delicious. The shack sauce is tremendous. From the fries to the shake the flavor is exploding in my mouth. When I want a ,burger this is now my spot.

DING DING DING! Nashville's In-n-Out Burger version is here! The Cheeseburger from here is exactly like InO's! I was surprised to find such a tasty burger at a middle-of-no-where burger joint. The Regular Fries, however, is not that great. It's better than McDonald's but not as good as Wendy's. Kinda reminds me of Supermarket's frozen fries. I also tried the Cali Style Fries, which was loaded with cheese, thousand island dressing, bacon bits, and jalapeños. Good Lord, they should change the name to Heart Attack Fries! A plus thing about this place is their food is cheaper than any other burger joint. The cashiers have been always nice to me. They usually call out my receipt number to pick up my order. The cook, on the other hand, was kinda rude. One time, the cashier was having lunch in the next room so the cook supposed to call out the number on my receipt (I was sitting on the other room so I didn't know when the food was ready or not). He did not. He came out to the next room, saw me and said "Hey, you!" *wave his finger*. Wtfuck? Yea. That's why he's just a cook. The location is kinda far from my house but the cheeseburger was definitely worth the drive. I'd skip the Fries and get 2 Cheeseburgers instead :) I hope they will open another location in Nashville. 2014/#4

Y'all. This place. I almost can't even. I had surgery yesterday, and of course, you can't eat anything after midnight the day of, so I was looking for a 'last meal,' if you will. I made an excellent choice. This place can certainly be classified as a fast food place, but the burgers are actually made to order, so it's a lot fresher. A lot of reviews compare this place to In-and-Out, but I have never eaten at one, so my review won't do that except to say that if Burger Shack is, in fact, close to In-and-Out's style, then I can't wait to try it. I had a regular cheeseburger (you have the choice of a double or a triple, but I don't see the need for that much ground beef). it comes with lettuce, tomato, onion, and Shack Sauce, but you don't have to get that. They have other topping options. I recommend leaving the Shack Sauce on it, though. It kind of reminded me of Big Mac sauce, but it tasted way better. My husband and I both got the combo, and we got Cali-style fries instead of regular fries. Another reviewer said that one order of Cali fries was enough for two people, but we did not heed her advice. HEED HER ADVICE. Neither of us came anywhere near finishing our fries. As for the burger, I ate the whole damn thing, and I never do that. No shame. It was that good.

In and Out Burgers is famous California burger chain that is very similar to Burger Shack. The owners are from my former state, California. I love their burgers. Steak fries always hits the spot and the place is hip. I like the prices too.

Having heard this was another of Oscar's east coast interpretations from San Diego I knew it wouldn't disappoint..... So tasty! I've never been to an InO burger, so I don't have anything to compare to, but it was super solid. Ordered double w/ grilled onion instead of raw(per a friend's recommendation) and got my fries "Cali style" topped w/ 1,000 island, onions, cheese, bacon and jalapeños. Probably need to stop eating for the day, but worth it. Def coming back!!!

It all started back in March 2014 when I went to a family members funeral in California. I know what an odd way to start a review..but hear me out. I was in California for a week and obviously what I do, no matter how full I am, is go to In&Out. Basically it's tradition when I go back home. Before I came back to Nashville, my husband calls to tell me that he found a little spot that sells burgers which taste exactly like In&Out, but you also can add bacon or jalapeños to your hearts content if need be. I was skeptical at first, but I gave it a try 2 weeks after I came back from my California trip. And he was right, I got the #3 combo meal Double cheeseburger grilled onions, no tomato which is what I ALWAYS order at In&out, and burger shack was on point with it, the fries were not the same but I survived. I was so happy that I didn't have to wait to go to the west coast to satisfy my cravings. My mom came in to town recently and she currently lives in DC. So she's obviously on the same boat as me when it comes to that craving. I told her about Burger Shack and she was also skeptical. We took her there on 8/2/14 for an early lunch. My husband ordered the #4, I ordered the #3 my usual but I went crazy and added mustard to my burger, and my sweet mom just ordered a cheeseburger with all the veggie fixins. When they called our order my husband picks up our meal and passed around the food, he gave me mine and the gave me just a cheeseburger, so I went back to the counter and told the cashier that I ordered a #3 but the ticket said #1. I know accidents happen and also I am not a liar. One of the older female cooks took my burger and added the double patty. After she handed it to me, my husband and I over heard her say something along the lines of, how "people say they order items that they didn't order". It was quite uncomfortable that she was actually talking shit while I was eating, making it extremely nerve wrecking knowing that she prepared my meal. I wanted to just get up, leave it there and go somewhere else, but we stayed until I finished and we quietly left. I know I should of gone to a manager but I figured this would work and warn people to double check your items before you get your food. I've been going to Burger Shack, since March multiple times and I probably won't be going back anytime soon after that incident, and let our friends know not to go either.

Great spot! This is the closest burger to "In N Out burger" . I will be back for more. Also its a very clean restaurant. Parking is sometimes hectic. Don't let that turn you away. I think the lot is expanding.

I saw someone I didn't even know post on Facebook that this place had In-n-Out style burgers. I swear I asked for the double, but they rang up a single burger. I was actually fine with it because that was one of the best cheeseburgers I've had in a long time. It was good enough to compare with In-n-out for sure. I ordered the Cali fries.... topped with Bacon, Jalapenos, special sauce (more than just thousand island) and two slices of cheese. The toppings were amazing!! Seriously so good! The fries were literally cold - the cheese did not melt any at all. I brought the half eaten fries into the manager and he dropped some fries for me and gave me a new batch that were hot. Much better. I also ordered another burger.... you know, just to make sure that it was as good as the first. It was just as good! I liked this place! I do believe they need to add hotdogs to the menu. I like the California theme, the patio and the music that was playing. It was super clean. The pricing was good and reasonable. No complaints there! I'll definitely be back. And next time I'm ordering the double double to see how much like In-n-Out it really is.

Attention In-N-Out Burger addicts... In the past I've been to INOb five times in a 48 hour period. I've taken a TAXI. TWICE. I know Secret Menu items that stump the STAFF. Trust me when I say this is the REAL DEAL.

Addictive! Yes I am hooked. I love the double cheese burger. It's a bit pricey but a great once in a while treat. Great Nolensville burger spot. It's a must try.

  • Diana O.

Wasn't impress. The burgers presentation looks like in/out burgers but tastes nothing close the west coast. Had cold fries wasn't great. Buns seem a bit dry n the patties was plain. Had the strawberry milk shakes that tasted like freezer burn ice cream. Over all I wouldn't make the drive just for burgers.

Similar to an In-N-Out. Their shack sauce (added to their burgers and Cali fries) is really good. I wish that they were closer to me in Cool Springs.

Great new restaurant in eclectic Nolensville which continues Nashville's obsession with burger joints. As with their sister restaurant, Oscar's Taco Shop (same owner), this place offers crazy low prices and surprisingly good food. Head's up: they're closed on Sunday.

  • Gary B.

Fresh burgers and crisp fries at a price that you can't really complain about. The menu is a bit limited, but this place isn't pretending to be anything it isn't. That's an important thing to note, as places like Burger Republic (just down the road a bit) pretends to be a gourmet burger and most of the time is not. All in all, it's much better than a fast food burger and you'll appreciate the Californian influence. You'll get out of there for a little less than a Five Guys.

Tell me this isn't an In-n-Out and I'll call you a liar. Food is amazing and scene feels like California. It's close enough where I'm worried they'll get sued.

I'm trying to look past the Shack Fries and be objective. I love In n Out burger, and being so far away from one this place has a special place in my heart. However that being said...dun dun duhhhhh The service sucks. If you are going to rip off INO then at least pretend to care about the people walking in the door who are paying your prices. The couple time I have been here the service has been non-existent. The burgers are a pretty close match to INO, but the shack fries are the clear winner. They are the animal fries, and they even offer the Jalapeno option. (extra star for that) The sauce however is not spot on every visit. It has varied drastically, and obviously must depend on who has made it. It has never tasted the way it did the first time I was there, which was pretty close to INO. The concept is rock solid, the execution is lacking.

Really good food. Staff were tired or uninterested in being at work, could be a little more energetic lol. Food takes some time to get but it's made to order. Not too crazy about the cali fries, regular ones would be better. Patties are thin so be sure to order at least a double. Good flavor, will be back, just might bring a Red Bull for kitchen staff :)

I went to the Burger Shack with the expectation that it would be just like a taste of home (In-N-Out Burger). When I arrived, it was a quaint place with California /Beach - themed decoration. I thought to myself, "This place is gonna be awesome!" I asked the guy behind the counter I could do their equivalent of a "Double Double Animal Style" and he knew exactly what I had meant. The food came out in a timely fashion. The burger had a warm appearance, one I was familiar with. As I took it in my hands, I gripped onto the burger in manly fashion. The hamburger bun was a bit stale, not warmed at all. At first bite, I had the mouth sweats, but they quickly subsided after I realized a chemical - like taste... the culprit? The cheese. The slices of gooey "American Cheese" had fooled me in appearance, but not in taste. It had a Velveeta, but likely not Velveeta, taste to it that overtook all the other flavors in the burger. The special sauce, AKA Thousand Island, had a runny, milky consistency to it that soaked the previously stale bun into a mushy state. With all this being said, I consumed said burger and did not look back. I've had the opportunity several times to go back with friends and I've chosen to go elsewhere. If I want In-N-Out, I must travel west.

Cute little place with a killer burger and fries. This will cure your hangover and really good greasy burger feeling. Now I've only eaten In-N-Out Burger once and I don't remember it being as good as Burger Shack but people do compare the two. We got our fries covered in cheese, bacon, onions, jalapenos, and sauce and that is a meal in it self. The take a few minutes of waiting to get your order because everything is cooked to order. I loved their onion rings too! Hand made chocolate milkshake was great and the perfect thickness. Now it's a bit of a scenic drive from Nashville but if you got some time it's worth the drive. You will not have to eat for the rest of the day as the portions are huge!

Almost a 4! First time in today and overall great experience. Super cute atmosphere and loved the oldies playing with the beachy theme. Now on to the food - burger was good not great. Meat is minimal compared to the massive onion slice. Presentation was good, ingredients were fresh and taste was good. Fries were good but I don't think they are fresh cut. Will probably return - overall a nice option in Nolensville!

Food is cooked to order. I got a double cheeseburger and it was pretty delicious. Fries also cooked to order. Burger was not a messy burger but I made a mess while I was eating it. I think this place is a great place to eat lunch at. Meet with season and toppings on burger were fresh.

The burger was very good! I'm from the west coast and heard the burger shack was similar to In N' Out so I had to try it. The burger was great and did remind me of In N' Out! I had the triple but they also offer a double and a single. The fries were just okay but the burger was definitely worth the drive from Nashville. I didn't try the shacks but I've heard good things so that's a must next time!

Burger Shack sits on the outskirts of Nolensville, about 15 miles from downtown Nashville. It's all counter service with ample seating inside and on the patio. Multiple signs and swag indicate that Burger Shack serves "Cali Style" burgers. It appears to be no secret that the operators here are going for a product that replicates the west coast's phenomenal burger chain, In 'n Out Burger. That is: thin patties cooked on a flat top, usually served as a double burger with cheese, fresh tomato, onion, lettuce and thousand island-style sauce. On that score, Burger Shack does a decent but not stellar job. Burgers were a little dry and other ingredients not over-the-top freshest. Fries are good. Chocolate shake was middle of the road, and came out well after the food. Prices are reasonable and the staff is pleasant. Overall, a decent burger, particularly if you are looking for the In 'n Out style and don't want to get on a plane.
