The hostess was alright, the waiter took quite a while to attend to our table, but the restaurant was fairly full. Compaired to my previous Romano's Macaroni Grill location, this one is a 2/10. I had the Mama's Trio and it was very disappointing. The lasagna was disappointing in taste, the chicken parm was just overdone as far as cooking went, and the canelloni was just so-so. It was so unappetizing that I took a few bites of each and didn't even want a to-go box for the leftovers. Maybe I'll give it another shot the next time I'm in Opry Mills, but I think I'd rather save my pasta cravings for Olive Garden or Spaghetti Factory...or elsewhere!

Hostess was rude and didn't try to accommodate our request. Dirty dishes on table when seated. Filet Mignon was flavor less. Out of one of the side and substituted with a cheaper less appealing vegetable. Seated next to kitchen against choice and found it to be the worst eating experience. Staff was very loud and didn't seem to care about others dining experience. For the price of eating at this establishment, I found it to be a waste of time and money.

I was never so dissapointed as I was on Saturday the 21st aprox. 3:00pm Met a friend for dinner and we sat a the bar to avoid a longer wait. The bartender took a while to take our order, we ordered the appetizer with our drinks after about 25 minutes.I asked the bartender if she could check on our appetizer order as people that came in after we did were already getting their meals. I mentioned this to our server and she said, and I quote "I only turn the orders in, I don't cook!" Boy, that did not sit well with me, nor my friend. And the tip reflected that. I should not have left one at all!!!! I usually tip 20% or more, her loss. I did ask for a comment card at the hostess desk, but they didn't have those. But they did ask me if I wanted to speak to the manager and at that point I declined, what a shame as the company I work for eats here quite a bit, I'm sure come Monday sales will be down :(

We arrived at 3 in the afternoon. Our server was horrible. She kept talking to us like we had never eaten in a restaurant. We told her we really just wanted to order tapas and she kept trying to push us to order more. My niece ordered a glass of wine and was later charged for a more expensive wine than what she ordered. Ruthann said they didint have any of that wine anyway. The flatbread from my tapas fell off the plate when the server brought it out. The server eventually brought replacement flat bread out on a different plate, but then she took each piece with her hands and placed them on the first plate on the table. A glass of water got spilled at our table -our fault - but the server made no attempt to help us clean it up. If she wonders why her tip was awful, she should consider a course on how to be a server. We were practically the only ones in the restaurant, so she can't say she was too busy.

Romano's Macaroni Grill is one of my family's favorite restaurants. The paper on the table is a genius idea, the food is awesome, but the Chicken Under A Brick needs to be improved. I ate more of the potatoes than that chicken. And also for the first time, our waiter didn't put his name on the table. And the lights weren't on the entire time. The bread had big chunks of salt on it. It just wasn't the same. But otherwise, pretty good!

No good comments. Calamari app, greasy, Fet Alfredo - pasta wasn't cooked properly, seafood pasta - disgusting. The absolute worse Mac Grill I've ever been to.

Our waitress was super - always there with a refill and a smile. The chicken parmesan was excellent as was the parmesan crusted sole. We were very pleased with the flavor, presentation and the portions were very ample. I would very much recommend and plan to be back soon!

Another case of "I was just along for the ride", this isn't the sort of place I would go to by choice. I am not a big pasta eater, in fact, I am slightly carb-phobic. But this is where my mother-in-law wanted to go the last time we were cruising the mall together, so I said 'sure'. They had a nice enough salad selection to keep me happy. I ended up ordering the Bibb and Blue salad with grilled shrimp on top. Then salad was nicely balanced with bibb leaves, blue cheese, pancetta, walnuts, pickled red onions, & buttermilk dressing. Would have been fine except my shrimp were over-cooked. Momma ordered the "Mama's Trio" which had chicken parmesan, lasagna bolognese, chicken & mushroom cannelloni. This entree is enough for 2 or 3 people, it was huge!! They have a deal for the summer where all the wine is 1/2 off. Overall, an average chain, featuring average food and average service. (2 1/2 stars)

Picture this..a big weekend: BIRTHDAY PARTY!! Glitz, glamour, sexy, rambunctious (to a degree), flirty, divalicious ladies gathered together to celebrate a friend...ah yes the memories!!! I digress, anywho..after a great day of fun..I mean FUN, the birthday girl was hungry..sooo, we decided to go to Opry Mills Mall (great place) and her eyes set on one of her favorite restaurants 'Macaroni Grill'..it was like heaven for her..lol. We approach the greeter and she tells us we will have to wait 1:15 before we could be served..we get this, after all its Saturday (02/09/2013), its busy, its the mall and everyone walking around with hungry bellies!! So we walk around the mall for 1:15 and we enjoyed it, we definitely got a lot of exercise that day!! As you can imagine after this hour plus walk around the mall we were faminshed..which meant nothing to our waiter, I mean can we get a glass of water or an ice cube for our parched throats..lol. I believe that since our party consisted of 10 women, our waiter knew his gratuity was guaranteed, it so evident in his lax service and lack of attention to our table, yet his smaller tables he carefully attended cause he knew he had to work for those tips!! We waited about 25 minutes before our drink order was taken and another 25 just to get appetizers...really, yes really. Meanwhile tables around us are being waited on, receiving their meals and leaving...us on the other hand still waiting and we haven't placed orders for our entrees.... OK, after 1 hour and 40 min we had enough and decided that we just wanted to pay for our appetizers and drinks and leave..however the table was somewhat divided..so 3 of us (out of 10) left and went to "Princes Chicken"..lol and those who remained completed their orders and waited an additional 35 for their entree. Guess what, those who remained had to send the food back because it was HORRIBLE!! Subsequently they ended up eating in the food court!!! What a disappointment for the birthday girl and her guests (SMDH) needless to say this would be the last place we would decide to eat at again in Opry Mills. Second only to eating a plate of ....anyway, this place needs to do better!!

1 star food, 2 star server. Ordered house salad, fruit di mare. Seafood was tasty, the linguine was WAY over cooked. Salad was primarily iceberg, bleck! It's a chain, how do you mess it up? Rosemary bread adequate and Choc cake heated properly. We went to eat there before the G ol opry show. What happened to the shuttles at opry mills? Mow 1/2 of that mall down and bring back opryland! OPRYLAND ruled!

I was craving Macaroni Grill. Their mushroom ravioli to be specific. I had just gotten into Nashville after being in Atlanta for a week and needed something familiar. So I Googled Macaroni Grill on my phone and found this location right next to The Grand Ol' Opry. Part of the Opry grounds house The Opry Mills, which is a huge indoor mall. This Macaroni Grill is part of that mall. I entered using the parking lot entrance, rather than the entrance in the mall. This entrance brings you right into and bar area. Perfect! I sat myself at the bar. There was another couple talking to a woman who appeared to be a manager. She was telling them about her baby or grandbaby. For a while. For about 5 minutes. Blah, blah, blah. Yes, I sat there at the bar for 5 minutes without being acknowledged or greeted I kept thinking this manager may be the bartender but her attire just didn't fit. Finally she walked toward me, and then past me to get water for the couple she was gossiping with. She never even looked my direction. At this point, if I wasn't craving that damn mushroom ravioli I would have been GONE. G.O.N.E! So, I hung in there at least 2 more minutes and a frustrated bartender appeared from the front of the restaurant. He finally asked me if I wanted to see a menu. I just told him what I wanted and ordered immediately in case he felt like disappearing again. The manager lady ran a credit card report on his register and then took his drawer and left. I felt like I was being run out before I even had my meal. I had to ask for both water and bread - neither was offered. I did get my mushroom ravioli pretty quickly and it was delicious. When the bartender asked if I wanted dessert (why start being attentive now?) I declined and he said, "Because you're already sweet enough, you don't need dessert." I kid you not! WTH?! I find that remark truly inappropriate. Especially after my horrendous experience with their unattentive customer service. I didn't feel like we'd become friends where he could say something like that to me. I paid my bill and left 15% on the nose. I actually Googled Macaroni Grill headquarters while I was sitting there to see if I could log a complaint. Nope. They don't have a lot of helpful info as to where to direct complaints really. Hopefully the right person will see this review and will take the appropriate actions to get some customer service pumped back into this place.

This is the second time we have used this chain to feed our team and once again they came through with good food, on time and they even helped us carry it out to the car. Everyone enjoyed the meal and there was plenty of food to go around. The price was fair too, but was $100 more than we paid in Washington, DC for roghtly the same faire.

We live very close to Opry Mills and have looked forward to having more food choices in the neighborhood once again. We arrived by 5:30 on a Friday night and were told we had a 20 minute wait. It was shorter than that. That was the one really positive thing I can say about our evening. None of the staff seemed happy to be there. Every once in a while our waiter seemed to make an effort to be friendly, but overall he was a dud. Three of our four meals came out together, but one was missing. He finally came by the table and said, "Oh, let me check on that." He then went to a computer and spent several minutes there before wandering off and coming back at least 5 minutes or more later to say that he didn't know what happened to it but the kitchen had to remake it. No real apology. No offer of a discount or free dessert. No manager ever came by to see how things were. Felt that the prices were reasonable and overall the food was good, but the service was lousy! Had to continually ask for water, straws, ice, lemon, etc. Felt like because we didn't order wine or other "extras" we were not given much attention. He was lucky to get a tip at all, since "gratuity" means being thankful for service given and there wasn't a lot to be thankful for. A smile, pleasantries, and concern go a long way to overcome other issues. Johnny needs to learn that...

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
