I've lived in East Nashville for 2.5 years now, the only regret that I have is that I didn't find Mickey's sooner. I love this bar for many reasons, no smoking inside the bar, darts, but most importantly the bartenders are exceptional! My favorite one is Tara, no offense to all the others, bust she drawls me in to that bar! Her!! She's my Boo! They cut up with me, they make me laugh and they take the best of care of me EVERY TIME I'm there!!! This bar comes highly recommended by me:)

As the reviewer before me stated, nothing but good. It's simply lovely to have a dive bar in East Nashville that's smoke free away from 5 Points (and within walking distance from my house, no less!). Here are the reasons you should go: 1. Pool (only 50 cents a game!) 2. Free Darts 3. Jukebox 4. PAC-MAN 5. Fooseball 6. Inexpensive Drinks 7. Cute Patio in the Back I want to keep this place a secret for my own selfish reasons, but I can't deny my love for this place. THANK YOU, MICKEY!

Overall, love this place. It's the perfect bar. But the main bartender can be a hot head if you don't tip well on a Wednesday night. And by "well" I mean it better be a $5 or 6 on a $20 tab.

Best neighborhood bar! Beer and booze + foosball + good jukebox + a patio The bartenders are friendly and always remember my name and my drink. So glad to have this spot in my neighborhood.

Awesome bar. Coworkers and I went on Friday after work and because the weather was nice we sat out in the back. There was plenty of room for us and drinks were super cheap. Most definitely will be going back.

You can't beat Mickey's for the value and atmosphere. It is a great place to drop in for a quick beverage or to hangout all evening with friends. Give it a try. You will be happy you did.

Top ten all-time favorite dive bars. Non-smoking. Great beer selection. A fine selection of interesting whiskeys. The owners are nice and go out of their way to learn your name. The crowd is always laid-back, friendly people. Surprisingly good food that they make behind the bar. I can't say enough about this place. Easily the best bar on the East Side.

Went in on a Sunday and had 2 Buds and a double Jack for $9. New favorite East side bar for sure. Pretty small, but they have foosball, pool, and darts. Definitely worth the jaunt. No bull, just a bar. Lovely.

The best neighborhood bar on the east side! The bar staff is friendly and attentive, the drinks are not made with swill liquor and are very reasonably priced. Further, the space is large and comfortable with great spaces to mix and mingle with friends. There is a great dart room in the back, pool, foosball, a juke box and OUTDOORS only smoking.

I knew I was going to love this place as soon as I stepped through the door. Excellent atmosphere. Great bar. Colorful patrons. One pool table. One foosball table. Two dartboards. A great smoking deck and a lower level cornhole area. They actually have a panini press, so you can get a great grilled cheese and chips for a late night craving. This is certainly not in my neighborhood, but it's well worth the drive. You've got to check this place out. You won't regret it.

You guys, I don't think this is a dive bar. If it is, it's the prettiest dive bar in America. I guess I always associate "dive" with places like the Springwater. Mickey's is not like that. And don't get me wrong, I like the Springwater just fine. There is a time for the Springwater, there's just..always time for Mickey's. Bartenders are nice and attentive (TIP THEM SO HARD) and drinks are cheap, so happy hour is very economical. There are fun activities like pool and 80's video games. There is a lovely patio outside. I will say that maybe the jukebox selections could use rotation. You'll always hear House of the Rising Sun like four times a night. Oh, I appreciate the ladies' can a great deal because the red light bulb makes me look amazing. Choice. So in summation: Mickey's is legit. I'll probably see you there later.

No nonsense neighborhood bar that is non-smoking. It's fabulous! The non-smoking aspect is seriously fantastic, don't worry though, they have a really great outdoor area that is smoker friendly. You can even smoke and play cornhole. Inside they offer darts, pool, and maybe foosball? I can't remember. The inside is just as one might imagine, it's clean without a lot of detail. The bar, however, has a nice back to it and is pleasing to the eye. It reminds me a lot of a city bar mostly because of it's shape. Bars in NYC, SF, etc are long and narrow just because that's the way the city has been built. You walk in and the bar is on the left, seating is one the right. Bathrooms are towards the back. If you live in the area and want to grab a few drinks I would definitely recommend Mickeys Tavern. It will absolutely pop into our regular rotation, especially if we grab dinner at El Jaliciense.

No frills, no bullshit, just awesome! I love that it's non-smoking. Fear not cancer fiends - there's a porch out back where you can get your medicine. The bar has a nice, clean setup, with two well placed TV's above the bar. Previous posts list out all the games, etc. Bartenders were all very friendly. Even met the owner, Andy. Seems like a cool guy! Drinks were fairly priced. This place just has a great vibe. I will definitely be back.

MIckey's is the best, and Tara is one of my favorites of the wait staff.

I hesitate to even review because I want Mickey's to remain the best kept secret in east Nashville. Love this place - divey but not dirty, not too crowded, non smoking, great games, reasonable drinks.

I agree this isn't really a dive bar! It's too nice, and they have too much nice liquor. But I'm not complaining beaches I really like this place! Recently had a nice bourbon here and rekindled my love of darts (even though I'm terrible!).

Not many people know that this place has a great collection of rare and fine scotch and whiskey in addition to its great repertoire of other well and tap drinks. In fact, this place sells more Buffalo Trace bourbon whiskey than the more trendy, hard liquor places in The Gulch (ie, Whiskey Kitchen), but Mickey's has even higher quality liquors! This place is not divey. In fact, it has an impeccably clean, smoke-free interior. People who associate this place with a dive bar are probably describing the dimly lit, largely wooden atmosphere that is actually more akin to Cheers. The outside back patio is covered and very spacious and a popular place for groups to congregate. There's a reason why Mickey's has been around for over 30 years. It may not look like it has much parking in the front, but there is actually a decently-sized parking lot in the back. The entrance to the lot is between Mickey's and Hop n Stop, so it can be hard to miss. Finally, the music selection on the jukebox-style CD changer is awesome and ever-rotating with the owner's impressive range of knowledge. If you are lucky enough to talk with him, likely during off hours, he is incredibly friendly and will give you an education in fine liquors and cool music. Seriously, if you find the atmosphere of the neighboring bar to be too hipster-y and their waitstaff to be too aloof, go inside and strike up a conversation with the friendly bartenders at Mickey's. It might just become your new favorite hangout.

I kept hearing, "You have to go to East Nashville." "East Nashville is where it's at." "East Nashville is the Brooklyn of Nashville." Stop it. There is not Brooklyn of Nashville. Or any Brooklyn of any other place for that matter. Mickey's does provide a Brooklyn feel though, amongst a very non Brooklyn area. After passing several douchey seeming bars, all that you have to, in the middle of what feels like mini malls converted into bars, we landed at Micky's. I dig the place. It had a good vibe, an awesome back patio, cheap liquor, and a top notch selection of beer. It was definitely a fun crowd, that knew how to not be intrusive in other people's business, but if warranted you could strike up a conversation with someone at a neighboring table. The plan was to stay there only for a bit, but we actually ended up staying several hours. It was so much fun we almost forgot about our anti-Semitic uber drive home. East Nashville may not be Brooklyn, but Mickey's reminded me of home.

This place is where you can come and be "home". The atmosphere is small town and the people that frequent the bar are welcoming. They have a panini press that's infused with magic that is hot until about midnight. The selection of beers are pleasing and never disappoint. They don't have one of those new fangled interweb jukeboxes, but one that has a hand picked selection of music that will only disappoint if you hate good music. Come to Micky's. It's the gem of E. Nashville. Come to Micky's to have a great time.

Da best! It's gonna be a place that I can bring my kids (whenever it is that I have them) and show them where memories were made!

Oh Mickey, you're so fine! My husband and I live within walking distance to Mickey's and we've actually only been a couple of times. I don't even know why though (I actually do and it's because we are generally hermits) but the drinks are much cheaper than most bars down in the five points area, even though I do like some of those bars. Another plus is there is NO SMOKING inside! There is nothing worse to me than coming home and smelling like cigarettes. Yuck! Nice outdoor seating as well. Makes me want to walk down there tomorrow and have a beer.

I love mickeys. I especially enjoy the neighborhood proximity and the service- even though it's always busy late at night when we go in the guys that handle the bar take care of us.

My favorite bar in all of East Nashville! Smoke-free inside, juke box loaded with all the right tunes, and a dedicated dart area. 2 for 1 specials plus an attentive bar keep, even on busy nights, makes this place feel like home.

Yep, Mickey's is one of my favorite bars in East Nashville; and it's away from Five Points, so it has that going for it. (I usually find 5 Points to be too crowded and obnoxious.) It's totally unpretentious without being too divey. There's pool, darts, and a pretty good jukebox, complete with cheap drinks and friendly bartenders. I just love the community, neighborhood feel here! I always see someone I know when I hang out here.

My favorite place to hang out in East Nashville. Non-smoking, great liquor selection (especially whiskeys), killer jukebox, covered deck in the back. Their Cuban sandwich is delicious. Prices are reasonable and the crowd is good. This place has been a bar since the 50s and you can feel that vibe when you walk in. Super comfortable and unpretentious.

My friend and I came in on Saturday May 30th and there was nobody on there at all. We go to the patio , get carded, and never see our bartender again. We waited for a good 10 to 15 just to see if she would come back and take our order. Negative, nobody the girl never came back. Here is the kicker, we walk out...I am thinking she may be able to redeem herself and ask us what we want, NO!! SHE SAID HAVE A GOOD DAY!! Terrible service? !?!

Visiting from out of town and we were looking for a place to have some fun.. This was perfect!! Best prices we saw while in Nashville and the place was awesome.. Bartender was happy to set up cornhole but we also played the other bar games (darts, pool, foosball, etc).. "Shot and a beer" special was great and we had a blast.. Definitely go here for a good time!

Mickey's Tavern is a wonderful place to go if you want a local spot. They have a nice atmosphere indoor but then they also have a great patio, as well as a spot to play cornhole. I did not get a chance to try any of the food here (looked good - with a panini press), but I did have drinks on a 2-4-1 night and they were great! (As well as great prices). This is definitely an addition that East Nashville needed. I love the local, intimate feel to the place. I definitely would check it out...and don't let the other stores in the strip scare you...
