after trying these guys at sugar rush and being quite impressed, I came by to see what they had to offer in their store. I have to say I'm disappointed. At sugar rush, I tried a maple donut that had a whole slice of bacon on it and a creme filled donut where the creme filling was light and deliciously different. In the shop their bacon maple donut only had a few sad specs of bacon bits on it. and they didn't have any creme filled donuts. I ended up getting an assortment including a cinnamon fritter which was good. their cinnamon sugar old fashioned was ok, but tasted a little overcooked. I was delighted to see blueberry and apricot filled donuts. Those were quite good. the custard filled donut had some good chocolate frosting on it that tasted homemade, but the custard filling inside only filled half of the donut and tasted just average. All in all a solid donut place, but not one that I would go out of my way for. I did not think of or know about the kulaches (sp?) or their chicken sandwiches that are supposed to be so good, Wish I had been able to try them. oh yeah.... just an fyi, the fritters and filled donuts count as two donuts and you have to pay double for them. -____-

So glad they got to keep their retro sign. A worthy stop for a local donut.

Definitely a Nashville Classic. The donuts are always delicious and the staff is friendly and nice. This is one awesome place to go to and get my donut fix. :D

Good old fashioned donuts at the Donut Den. Are the best donuts I've ever had? No, but they're some of the best and I love that the Den has late hours.

My kids love this place. I like the chicken biscuits. It is nice to have a family-owned donut shop in the neighborhood.

Donuts aren't great but the apple fritters are to die for!!

Blueberry Donut Holes. Mmmmm. While there is nothing super special about the Donut Den, they make a solid selection of tasty donuts, and they have an icee machine. If you are in Green Hills and find yourself in need a sugar/fried bread fix, the donut den is your best bet. My personal recommendations are the blueberry donut holes and the cake donut with maple glaze. I know people who swear by the apple fritter, but since I am not a huge apple fan, I will defer that one to the apple-lovers out there.

I don't generally like donuts, but I like this place.

Your donuts make me go nuts...... alright well joking aside. I love going to this place. I wish it would look like and old fashion donut place like it used to but I can get over that piece of nostalgia seeing as how they have the original sign. I love everything here, it was a Sunday morning tradition in my family to get donuts from here and they have been amazing since I can remember my first. Although green hills has been a crazy place to drive through, I would still suggest going and getting an eclair..... MMmmmMmmm. You know you want to!

I cannot tell you how many times I have passed by this place. Whether picking my wife up when she worked at the Green Hills Mall, heading to or from one of the premium grocery stores, or simply passing through Green Hills to get somewhere else, I've gone by thinking it's just a donut shop. Big mistake. Now the pics of the shop don't represent the newer facade that has been put up this year, but the iconic neon sign has been placed on the building once again (and not without some controversy, if my understanding is correct). You cannot miss the neon sign, so the pics help in that area. The donuts are absolutely first class. They don't taste automated, and they're not dripping in sugar. They don't have the "corn syrup" taste to them. They're simply good, old-fashioned, donuts. You might not be able to get them anywhere else in the city. If there's a better donut in Nashville, I don't know of them, and they're certainly an independent shop as Fox's is. One caveat, I went in one evening and no one was manning the front counter. No one must have heard me come in, so there was no one to wait for me. That was annoying, and that was enough to drop it down from five stars to four. To get five stars from me, everything just has to be perfect. Once I was able to get the attention of whoever was in the back, a nice young man waited on me and did everything right, so that helped the situation. If you just have to have a donut, this is the place to go.

Really like Donut Den - this is the kind of place you grow up going to your entire life...an original donut shop...there aren't many of those left, especially in the heart of green hills!

Donut Den is the perfect place to get your sugar overload! Their delicious donuts are far better than anything you could buy in a grocery store, even the bakery section. Trust! Donut Den is one of those stores that flashes "Hot Donuts" in the window as they are coming out of the oven. I've almost had several wrecks driving down Hillsboro Pike as I look longingly at the store front! I think their plain glazed are best, but you can also get everything from chocolate glazed, regular chocolate, sour cream, blueberry, and all kinds of twists and yummy treats. I'm getting hunger pains just thinking about it! Pick these up one morning and take them to the office. You'll be everybody's favorite person! They are also great to have for a Saturday morning treat, or hey, any time of the day! You won't be sorry!

  • David H.

I like this place -- a nice independent doughnut shop. Nothing fancy here, they just do the same doughnut variations (and pastries) you'd expect at the chains except better. They're just going for the "friendly neighborhood doughnut shop" niche and they deliver. What's not to like? As far as I've seen, they're really the only place in the area filling that niche. Also, they'll make large decorated doughnuts you can use as a novel birthday cake substitute. I'll have to investigate this...

There is something sort of shady about its retro signage and side of the road location, but Donut Den's delicious mounds of dough really put Krispy Kreme to shame. The location is only deadly in that it makes it a little bit TOO convenient to pass by and get a donut or ten on the way home from Trader Joe's/the mall and such. They're also comparable in price to Krispy Kreme so there's really no excuse to not come here. It's easy to park your car in the lot and your ass in a chair (if you want to) and the counter girls are patient and pleasant. The clientele is what you'd expect from child- and rich old people-friendly Green Hills, but not too many people linger. I had the best sour cream doughnut ever, and the regular glazed ones are so delicious too: fresh but not oily and perfectly doughy and retardedly sweet. Heaven.

D-E-licious. Everything we tried was finger-licking good. In particular, I was blown away by the massive apple fritter and the chocolate-frosted donut filled to bursting with delectable cream. This place rocks my world.

  • Jamie D.

I went this afternoon and they had only a handful of donuts available. Coffee wasn't brewed, and the dining area smelled and felt dirty. A bar stool was broken with a trashbag over it. I heard this was a Nashville landmark so I was highly disappointed.

Any locally owned "mom and pop" shop that's been in business for over 30 years has got to be good. Well the Doughnut Den is no exception to that rule. This place is awesome. It smells like glorious artery clogging glaze as soon as you walk through the door. The service is always top notch and the blueberry cake doughnuts cannot be beat. If your'e looking for something to take back home with you grab a loaf of the apple fritter bread. Your wife or husband will sing your praises with the introduction of this glorious new apple goodness in your home. The only warning I have to issue here is the doughnuts are almost too good. You'll find that you may need a defibrillator if the cravings cannot be stopped.

My guy considers himself an apple fritter connoisseur so when we tried this place out, he had the highest expectations. Fox's didn't fail him. Huge, sweet, yeasty, and delicious. I also enjoy the blueberry donuts. The owners seem nice...always donating their donuts to the Children's hospital. It's nestled between Hillsboro high school and a strip mall...try not to miss it!

  • Melissa T.

Ohhhh my goodness. This place is YUMMY! Somehow, in all my years (10!) of Nashville living, Krispy Kreme was out donut store of choice. But I bought a Sharing Spree to Donut Den and my family and I went one Saturday morning. I'm normally a chocolate donut girl, but the girl behind the counter recommended the Apple Fritter so I decided to indulge in that. She did not steer me wrong and I can't drive to Green Hills now without stopping to get one! I will definitely go back... over and over and over again!

There's just something about home spun donut shops like Fox's, and that old neon sign just adds to the whole experience. That sign is either a really good replica, or the original. Props if it's the original considering the place's multi decade lifespan, and counting. Getting down to basics here, there are some great donuts. They have that perfect melt in your mouth smoosh when you bite into them. If you've ever had donuts from a local shop and not your standard Dunkin Donuts you know what I'm talking about! One of the best parts is even at night the donuts taste super fresh. Maybe not fresh out of the oven warm, but certainly far from stale. If you're a fan of coconut, try the coconut glaze. It pretty much screams awesome. The prices are fair and it smells great in here. It's a staple, so you pretty much have to try it.

  • Declan G.

With its old neon sign and retro furniture, the Donut Den is an oasis of independent deliciousness in the middle of Green Hills. Which makes sense, since they've been around for over 30 years. The Donut Den offers all sorts of bagels, muffins, coffee, pastries, and frozen yogurt, as well as donuts. The plain old glazed donuts ($0.99 each) are great, but I bet their other confections are just as good. They include chocolate, maple, cinnamon, filled, devil's food cake, and blueberry cake donuts. Is your mouth watering yet? The Donut Den has a diner-ish feel, and a lot more character than Krispy Kreme or Dunkin Donuts. It's the kind of place that would be fun to stop by for a tasty, inexpensive dessert late at night.

A Nashville classic. Fresh donuts are ddddeeeee-licous. Period.

    (5)
  • Robert K.

Like most people, I am a sucker for sugary donuts. They have a huge selection to choose from: red ones, blue ones, frosted ones, sprinkled ones, and plain ones. I know a couple people that swear the plain glazed ones beat Krispy Kream's plain donuts. In my opinion, Krispy Kream eats Donut Den's dust. Donut Den has the most fantastic strawberry frosted donut, I am not lying when I say, they melt in your mouth! Another positive attribute about donut den is that they serve muffins and bagels. The bagels are good, but I have had better. Stick with the donuts and if you are really feeling adventurous then try the Ham Biscuit. I don't know if the ham biscuit is a southern thing, but I think it is just plain weird.

I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to taste one of Donut Den's delectable creations while visiting my boyfriend's family in Nashville. Despite only sampling one item on the menu (one glazed old-fashioned donut), I am convinced this is one of the best donut shops around! Old-fashioned is my donut of choice--and I have never tasted one so moist and so gooey (in a good way). It also had an optimal amount of glaze, which remained soft and did not crack/fall apart as I bit into its deliciousness. Five stars and two thumbs up for Donut Den!! Maybe they can open one up in San Francisco? ; )

Yummy donuts, yummy muffins, need I say more?! And having gone to Hillsboro, going to the Donut Den is a nostalgic experience for me.

I'm sad because my friend recently told me that this whole shopping center is going to undergo a major renovation. I suppose this was inevitable with Trader Joe's moving in across the street and all. Yeah, I guess the shopping center is a little old, but it's just amazing how much has happened in Green Hills in the eight years I have been here. Anyway, the Donut Den is a major anchor of this center. This local business has been there for thirty years. Wow. Good on ya, as my Canadian friend might say. Krispy Kreme had their moment in the sun (and they are still good), but thirty years. I'm an old-fashioned guy and usually like cake donuts. Plain or chocolate topped. Coconut. Easy. Obviously the place has solid donuts. I can't believe no one has written about the best thing they have at Donut Den, though. They have kolaches which is a fancy word for a pig in a blanket. A yummy sausage wrapped in a great pastry. A nice and filling breakfast. So there is something not quite so carbo-loaded for you at the Donut Den. I'm always fascinated by regional differences in food. You owe it to yourself to taste a Nashville donut and figure out how it differs from a Krispy Kreme or a Shipley's (TX) donut. And maybe be thankful we don't have a Dunkin' Donuts on every single corner like they do in the northeast.

I love Fox's Donuts. I mean it. And I don't mean that in the euphemistic sense that most people intend when they say they love cake or football or their neighbors. I mean I'm legitimately in love with the donuts served at Fox's, and I could probably spend the rest of my life with them. Fox's serves crullers, glazed and filled donuts, eclairs (my personal favorite), turnovers, fritters and countless other tasty sweets for genuinely reasonable prices. The staff has always been very kind, and Fox's is a good spot to just get a cup of coffee or a muffin if your sweet tooth isn't as out of control as mine. This charming little shop is just up the way from Green Hills Mall--walking distance, in fact. The great thing about Fox's is how affordable their tasty treats are. While donuts and pastries of equal quality will really cost you at chain donut shops, Fox's treats cost less than you'd expect. Fox's is exactly what Green Hills needs: a down-to-earth place to get a quick dessert without having to break out the big bucks.

We got there late so they were out of a lot of choices. We got some sugared, raspberry, strawberry, and apple filled donuts. All tasted fresh and delicious even though it was early evening. Just the right amount of sweetness. Loved the sign too ;)

  • Erin D.

I've only been here once, and I liked it. They open SUPER early which is why I tried it. I got a doughnut and a coffee for like 2 bucks or something. Very yummy. If I was a regular doughnut person this would be it for me. Parking was good and the service was great.

  • Tart L.

The donuts are good; the muffins are even better. Kidz at Hillsboro High School next door love Fox's Donut Den, as do the discerning pastry lovers in the Green Hills neighborhood and beyond.

    (4)
  • Joe C.

I love the apple fritters and the blueberry donut holes. It's all good, but these are my favorites. The maple glazed are a close third. Get there early for the freshness, or go late for a post-dinner, post-anything sugarfest. Definitely a Nashville staple.

I drive my boyfriend crazy. We will be going somewhere, and I will shot out, STOP HERE, RIGHT NOW! I guess hee really isn't all that spontaneous. Ha! So, I see Fox's and start howling to stop now. Of course, he totally drives by the place and we had to park next door. The store was crazy busy, but service here was very fast. I got a simple ice donut with jimmies and a milk. To go. The donut was perfection. I love this place, I want to go back.

At first we were a little worried about this place. The interior is a downer for sure, but the donuts were great. It looked like a sweet little family business, which we love!

AMAZING! Great, friendly service and even better food. Got the cinnamon bagel - soooo delicious. The donuts were incredible. Even got a second bagel for free just because the guy behind the counter was so great!! Such a great experience. DEFINITELY will be returning.

  • Hal D.

During my single visit at Fox's Donut Den, I had a decent experience. Now I don't eat at donut shops often, so I can't really compare Fox's donuts with those of other establishments. But I will say I found them at least as good as those of Dunkin's. They were out of the jelly donuts I requested, but I did get to try their apple fritters, chocolate-covered, and maple-glazed donuts--all tasty. The "den" had an aged feel to its interior, but I'd prefer to think of it as "retro." The tiny shop has no bathroom as far as I know, but the down-to-earth baby-boomer folks who were running the place let me step behind the counter and use their kitchen sink to wash my sticky post-doughnut-handling fingers. In conclusion, I feel some pity for Fox's Donut Den--they probably feel considerable pressure from Dunkin's, Starbucks, and Krispy Kreme. But while the Den itself may not be as polished as the big donut chains, if you're in Nashville and would like donuts from an "authentic" doughnut shop, you may find Fox's Donut Den is worth a try.

I don't live in Nashville, but I was born and raised there. The Donut Den was a staple of weekend post-basketball games/practices. The donuts taste the same as they did in 1985 and they are still rocking the Icee machine as well. Love every bit of this place! Pure nostalgia rarely exceeds modern preferences, but this place nails it. Hope it's around for decades to come!!!

  • Francesca D.

This spot made the thrillist list of best of for a reason! Their yeast donuts are some of the best I've ever had. I got the Bavarian glazed and it was insane.I love the vintage touch of the logo, sign and store- clearly a gem and to be sought after if in Nashville. I was less then impressed with the cake donuts. Very dry. But the yeast could have easily made that an easy win. Very friendly staff and took time to chat with us, and my donut obsessed husband. Make your way to this place and you won't be disappointed!

"Why are you up so early?" "No idea. Let's get donuts!" "There's a line at 7:30 am?! Guess that's a good sign." "Hmm they're smaller than I thought. Better get two dozen instead of one." "Glazed, chocolate, sugar, blueberry filled, lemon filled, Boston cream pie, old-fashioned." "And 4 apple fritters please." "If you get 6, it's the same price as 4." "6 apple fritters please." "You're going to make someone VERY happy. " "We know." I was very happy with my blueberry filled jelly donut, J loved the lemon one and the apple fritter left a big ol' sugary smile on L's face.

A great find. Fox's Donut Den has a very old time feel. The employee was friendly and helpful. Plenty of seating is available. In addition to donuts, they offer cookies, bagels, muffins, sausage biscuits, coffee, etc. We decided to try an Apple Fritter, Old Fashioned Cinnamon Donut and Glazed Donuts. The Cinnamon Donut was on the dryer side but it had loads of cinnamon flavor. The other donuts had a wonderful texture. They were chewy, gooey and sweet. Very fresh and a good size. Total for the 5 donuts and Apple Fritter was about $6.30, not bad. Recommended for any donut lover.

Items Selected: Yeast Star Maple Old Fashioned Apple Fritter Glazed Chocolate Cake Yeasted Strawberry Cro-Do Cream Filled Chocolate Glazed Named to several "Best of" lists in various online and print media, Fox's Donut Den was the first stop after hopping off the plane at BNA and arriving just moments after the sizable storefront unlocked the doors it was even before pulling the handle that the smell of yeast mingling with sugar could be smelled, even over the scent of exhaust as a stream of locals literally drove up, parked with engine still engaged, and ran in to grab a donut and coffee before heading back to the road. Every bit an oldschool doughnuttery, though happy to experiment with the occasionally novelty such as baked donut bread or the donut-croissant hybrid, a first glance at the Donut Den would lead one to believe there are hundreds of options, but instead featuring several duplicates spread across several cases the best approach is to stick to the left side of the space and choose amongst favorites - a lack of buttermilk bar or blueberry leading to a Half-Dozen +1 approach tallying $14.17. Taking a seat at one of several vinyl booths, the Formica tabletops telling tale of just how long Fox's has been serving the city of Nashville, our tasting began with raised, yeasted options and with both the chocolate frosted star and Simpsons-style Strawberry ring proving light, fluffy, and virtually oilless the craftsmanship was immediately evident, a wispy cream filled pocked proving equally well crafted as we transitioned to cake based options and other novelties both new and classic. Speaking first to the 'new,' it must be noted that Fox's 'Cro-Do' is a good riff on Ansel's invention with well separated layers and a lightness that allows buttery notes to shine, and while the substantial apple fritter was equally low in grease amidst ample cinnamon-laced apples neither the chocolate cake nor the old fashioned managed to impress in the least as the crumb of each was far too dry - the old-fashioned, which was described as a 'cruller,' nearly inedible without a beverage in hand, and even than not worth the cost or calories...a damned shame as the maple icing was itself quite excellent, a flavor far less 'sweet' than would be expected given its thick application.

The bacon maple doughnut was out of this world!!! A total hangover cure!! The blueberry doughnuts are also delicious. I'm new in town, but this will be a Sunday morning staple from here on out!

Their apple fritters are what I went there for and ended up getting glazed donuts too. They were just ok but the fritter was good.

  • Sydney G.

After seeing numerous Instagram pictures of donuts from here we decided to grab a few. I have never had a bad donut in my life until I had one from here. I normally get a chocolate donut with sprinkles but they were out ... of everything. We settled for chocolate glazed donuts which you would think would be easy to make. I could only stomach to eat one. The inside was not soft and fluffy like a donut should be. It kind of tasted like a box of donuts that had been sitting in a gas station for 3 days. Maybe we just went in on an off day. After all the hype, it was a very disappointing experience.

  • Jason B.

We went for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Getting bit of a late start, we didn't arrive until after 9 am. We waited about 15 minutes in line, and had a pretty large order. The nice young lady behind the counter was very patient with me as my order changed a few different times. In my opinion, donut shops have to be judged on the quality of their standard glazed donut. Theirs are light and delicious, not too sweet or too dense. As other reviews state, the apple fritters are ridiculous, in a good way. At the time of my order, they were hot and fresh and amazing. They also offer sausage and biscuits, which are a lot different than a typical southern style biscuit. The biscuits are more like fresh, slightly sweet hamburger buns. They are really good, but not what I would call a biscuit. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the mega donut chains. I'd always rather support a local business, and Fox's is one of those iconic Nashville places.

Holy -ish!!!!! This place should be on the Nashville "must try" lists!!!! Donuts are to die for, especially if you love sugary light whipped frosted filling, oh man!!! Get in there!!! Wishing I tried the cherry fritter....

When I first heard the name Fox's Donut Den.. I literally imagined an episode of MTV cribs and we were visiting the home of Fantastic Mr. Fox- A beloved Roald Dahl character well loved by this girl. In true American fashion I could picture Mr. Fox's walls lined A la homer simpson style with stacks and stacks of donuts. Particularly maple glazed ones. Fox's Donut Den has been a place Ive heard about multiple times since moving to Nashville... and for the last 2 months I thought Ive never had one. Little did I know that those cakey dense maple glazed treats in inconspicuous white boxes I've been sneaking tastes from at work have been from Mr. Fox himself!! My heart literally goes into an arrthymia whenever I see those white boxes. Its like Pavlov's dogs for serious. White boxes will actually cue extreme excitement and anticipation. Robin egg blue boxes--pshh who cares. Devil's food cake, maple glazed, cinnamon yeast donuts???? Be still my heart. What I really love about donuts here is the very simple menu. I know a lot of donut places now have the craziest variety. I have expect sometimes to find like a matchbox car on top of a donut at some of these hip boutique places. MAN. Sometimes a girl just wants a simple donut. With some Fo reals maple glaze. What can I say, Im just a classy, old fashioned gal (insert collective laughter of all that have ever met me).

Okay, okay. I lied. I went back. My friend Heather was in from Texas visiting and she wanted to go. She used to live in Nashville and loved the donuts here. Donuts were just as good as I remembered. However, only one person was working and his was a face I hadn't seen before. A bearded fellow who greeted us, laughed with us, and was all around super friendly. World of difference from my first visit. Remainder of the staff should take notes from him. Thanks, beardie!

My sister and I came here when we were waiting for Bluebird down the street to open up for the night. Fox's Donut Den, which has been around for more than 30 years, offers donuts, bagels, muffins, pastries, and hot beverages, but when we arrived, the selection was slim-pickings. However, the nice gentleman there told us that there were some that were freshly made in the back, and we can choose the fillings if we would like for the stuffed donuts. Yay! We tried out the Maple coffee cake (more dense, but absolutely delicious with its nice maple glaze on top), a lemon-curd filled donut (yummy and not too overly sweet), a sprinkled donut with pink glaze, and a regular glazed donut (it was light, airy, and delicate, and definitely a donut I've never had before!). The donuts weren't overly sweet, and I liked that they were so airy and delicious. Yum! :D I can only imagine the different varieties they have in the mornings! +Maple coffee cake +lemon-curd donut +regular glazed donut

It was just ok. Nothing great, or drive out of your way for. When I got there most of the donuts were gone. I had like three options. I'm not sure if I would go back.

I had passed this place about 100 times and never went in. And I love donuts so I am kicking myself that I didn't take advantage of the Donut Den more often. I stopped in there on a whim when I was headed to Men's Wearhouse. I grabbed the standard glazed donut. It was excellent. They had a nice variety of flavors, but for my first time, I wanted to try the basic. It's like getting a burger at a new restaurant. Anyway, totally delicious. The dough was airy. Of course it was overly sweet as a donut should be. I asked the woman behind the counter about the place. She was really kind. She informed me that they have had the same owner for like 42 years. The atmosphere remind me of my hometown Shipley's. It was cafe style with a handful of tables to dine. For me, it was an brief encounter. 1 donut and a quick conversation with the sales woman. But I will be repeating Fox's Donut Den in the very near future.

i sometimes plan super early commutes to work so i can swing in here, and am always greeted with friendly service (it's hard to be friendly before 7!). i do wish that i would be lucky enough to get donut holes or pastries when they are warm, but i'm not sure when i'd have to show up to get the elusive "warm treats". tasty treats, but just don't taste/appear/feel to be "fresh".

I and my family enjoy the long-standing Fox's Donut Den. Our favorite? The Chocolate Butterfly, only found here. What is it? Think a chocolate version of a cinnamon roll. They are huge! Approx $3 a piece. However..... They do not regularly make these. You must CALL at least the day before and order! Will take credit cards (AmEx, V, MC).

we first walked in and were a little wary, since the shop itself looks a bit run down and there wasn't a huge selection in the case. but really, who cares, b/c the donuts were amazing! we got one glazed and one chocolate croissant/donut hybrid and were licking the wrappers clean at the end. we also considered buying a third donut to split, but managed to exercise some restraint (*pats self on back*). the shop is probably run down b/c they're open 19hrs a day and are too busy making amazing donuts to care about renovating. and they were out of a lot of flavors b/c the donuts are so good, it's hard to keep them in stock (the guy in line behind us bought 2 dozen to go, and this was at 3pm). i live in walking distance of dunkin donuts, but would rather get in my car and trek out to green hills for a fox's donut. i'm going to try my best not to come here every day (but i can't make any promises)!

Three cars show up at the advertised hours -do t expect to come here at 11:30pm- with a hand written sign saying closed on the door. So I called to leave a message to let them know they just missed out on at least a minimum $50 sale(s)- and the cook answers!! Saying "sorry I don't know what to tell you! " uh, how about don't answer the phone- and have the balls to hang up on me!!!! One star rating for dick-service on a Friday night maaan. Do t know if I'll ever be back, don't k ow of i ever can be!! Lost my faith on the first run!!!

I love the old-timey feel of this classic donut shop. From the big glass display cases filled with pastries of all kinds (even bear claws!) to the Formica countertops with red swivel stools. Reminiscent of donut shops my folks would take me to as a child. The donuts are light & fresh, coffee is decent & the service is quick & friendly.

After living in Nashville for a few years I finally made it in for a donut! I was so surprised when I walked in...there was no wow factor. I feel like I had stepped into a business that was about to be renovated...or had shut down. Perhaps the reason for the lack of decor and bland interior is because they simply don't need it to generate business. They are so popular that people will come visit them and buy their product regardless of what the inside looks like. Believe me, I think it's great for them, but the inside of the store left a lot to be desired. Make it prettier! There was no special experience during the visit. As for the donut shopping--there were few left (I went in around noon so I understand) and there were no labels. I noticed the fritters and thought to try one as they are usually my favorite. I asked what the cashier liked and she mentioned cronuts. I had been wanting to try one for ages so I decided on that. It was good, but not blow-your-mind good. I would go back for a fritter in the future if the opportunity arose, but I wouldn't go out of my way to do so.

Pretty enjoyable blueberry-cake doughnut from a staffer incredulous that I was redeeming their 50% off Scoutmob offer on such a small order (it was still quite pricey).

I believe the appeal of Fox's Donut Den lies more in its being NOT Dunkin Donuts or Crispy Cream, than it does in actually being a place that serves great donuts. I did like it for the ambiance and because it seems like a family and friend run establishment. The donuts are sub par, however. The best thing they have going is a plane glazed and everything goes down hill after that. The weakest part on their menu is ANY caked donut. There are very few choices and the ones there are are not very good. I would take my daughter here when we lived around the corner, but it's not worth the five mile drive the separates my house from the donut den now. Overall, Nashville has not been good for donuts. Any of the thousands of corner donut shops in southern california would be preferred. Plus Side: Neon Sign, Olt-timey feel, Family and Friend owned, Same old men that eat there every morning (Community atmosphere) Down Side: The Donuts, anything other than plane glazed Really down side: Cake Donuts

I love donuts. More than I should. Fox's may not be Krispy Kreme or Dunkin, but this place has a little something special that makes me return time and time again. Maybe it is its "family run" vibe. Maybe its G Hills central location is just the closest to me. Either way, I am a repeat offender when it comes to these doughy treats.

I have absolutely no complaints here. I had a craving for late night donuts and was able to give my husband the sad puppy dog face until he caved and said he'd get them. I searched yelp to see what was open at 11pm and this place popped up with good reviews. On the suggestion of other yelpers, I tried the blueberry donut holes and apple fritters along with a few other random things tossed in. We were not disappointed! Omg, so good! There were a few reviews that said by the end of the day the donuts tasted stale but I couldn't say the same about ours. They were still fresh tasting and that was one hour before closing. I don't eat donuts often but when I get a sweet tooth I'll definitely come here. Not overly sugary like Krispy Kreme or Dunkins. KK to me tastes triple dipped. Ugh. Fox's Donut Den got themselves new customers! :)

Nashville Classic. There is no explaining needed for the Donut Den. Just go and you will be happy! Cinnamon roll - end of story

I think that the "rave" reviews come from people who, for the most part identify this place as a Nashville Institution and not from people who have experienced donut stores where donuts are more popular. My experience was one of a sullen sales person, a very limited choice, tough donuts, overly expensive, and generally not a place you can write outstanding reviews about. Additionally, the parking is cramped and difficult. I come to Nashville several times a year and I will continue to search for a "local" donut store that meets my minimal standards.

First time here this morning and I had their cinnamon bagel. It was so delicious! Love the atmosphere and the large variety of cool and yummy pastries to choose from. Not really a fan of their coffee but other than that this place is great! Good customer service and friendly people!

Wow, this place sucks. Great donuts though... so let me explain. Gripes: 1) The donuts ARE NOT LABELED. There are no freaking labels for the donuts, so you have no idea what they are. When you ask the disinterested teen behind the counter he doesn't know what they are either..... "uhh, I don't know. I think that's chocolate filling there though. -insert stupid laugh here- " So I guess and wind up with a spice cake or carrot cake (? It had strands of carrot in it..but tasted nothing like carrot cake) muffin and a cream filled glazed donut. 2) Order these! --- if you like SQUISHED DONUTS. I order my two donuts, and he proceeds to put the cream filled on the bottom (by the way, the cream filling is on TOP of the donut) then plop the heavy ass muffin on top. Then, my boyfriend orders a chocolate cream filled glazed and a apple fritter. He proceeds to then plop the apple fritter on top of the muffin which is destroying my cream filled, then stick the chocolate on top and shove the tiny over-filled white bag at us. HORRIBLE! 3) the place is HELLA grimy. Nasty. I was wondering if I should even eat donuts from a place where there was a thick layer of grime on every surface behind the counter. Praises: They really are good donuts, flavor-wise. But you have to deal with terrible service and them destroying your donuts before you ever even get them. Not going back.

As a delivery driver, I often pass by Fox's Donut Den when making deliveries in the immediate area. I made a mental note of the name and location so that I could check the reviews, if any, on Yelp*. After seeing the 4-* review average, I resolved to visit Fox's the next time I was in the area. After a Saturday morning employee meeting at my place work, I was hungry. Since the meeting placed me close to Fox's location, I decided that this was a good time to visit. I'm glad I did! One disappointment I often experience when seeking out donuts, is the lack of flavor in the donut dough itself. This is not the case with Fox's donuts. The donuts here have a great, fresh-baked flavor that is not bland and complements the flavor of the glazes, icings, and fillings. The selection appears to be standard fare with an assortment of yeast and cake donuts, pastries, bagels, muffins, and some savory items such as sausage rolls. I ordered only donuts this visit but will return to sample everything. I should add that the custard filling is outstanding. The service was friendly and prompt even though the store was quite crowded. Fox's Donut Den made a good first impression on me. I will return. If you have been contemplating a first visit, do so. I think you will enjoy the experience.

Who doesn't love a good donut? Definitely not Krispy Kreme (and I can never resist the Hot Now sign) which isn't a bad thing. These are cake donuts and they are AMAZING. My favorite donut from here is the glazed cruller... warm them up and drink with a glass of milk. They MELT in your mouth and my mouth is watering just thinking about it! This is a must try!

    (5)
  • Caleb H.

Donuts are awesome here. Krispy kreme can't touch these. My only gripe is if you are going to offer a Groupon don't give customers an attitude when they go to redeem it. The purpose is to gain new customers that haven't experienced your brand before, you're not going to make money as a business when you go through Groupon but you hope it will lead to future business. Might want to share that tidbit with the staff. A " thanks for coming in, come back and see us" would go a lot further on creating a positive interaction and future business than a gruff dismissal.

  • Smith A.

It appears to be a locally owned place. I stop in for donuts on the way to work about once a week. The donuts are good. I say good because in my opinion krispy kreme is awesome! They are never warm so thats a negative. They have a pretty large variety to chose from so definitely a plus. Everyone at my office loves them. You can get a dozen for 10.75 so the price is right. The service is usually quick and friendly.

They are literally the only donut shop in Nashville I've been able to find that carry kolaches/pigs n blankets. I'm from TX and kolaches are huge, at every donut store nearly! So I was shocked when I couldn't find one in Nashville, ppl even look at me like I'm crazy when I ask for them. So very exciting to discover they carry them here! One problem, I haven't tried one yet!! Every time I go, they are sold out...so if they are selling out, they must be popular...if they are popular why are they only making one batch a day?!?! I even tried 9AM on a Thursday and no such luck. :( Please make multiple batches!! Not to mention they were incredibly rude.

Full disclosure - I've never been to Donut Den. "Then what are you doing writing a review, you idiot?!" Hey, calm down. Mister Sales Rep brought the office several boxes today in an attempt to sweeten his deal (See what I did there?). Lemme tell you, these donuts are top-notch. Bear claws that are literally the size of well, bear claws, and a cinnamon roll that Jim Gaffigan could make an entire routine out of. But it's not just behemoth proportions - no, they are delicious. I had the apple fritter and a puffy one filled with something red. You never ask, you just eat. And eat I did. The coworkers dissolved the regular glazed before I got to try one, but the unmistakable rumble cause by a universal office sugar smacking led me to believe they were just as good. Definitely the best I've had in Nashville, maybe ever. I plan on visiting the location soon, and fully expect to be bumping up to the coveted 5.

I think I've been spoiled by Portland, OR when it comes to donuts. This place was nice enough and the donut was good there just wasn't much variety. I'll save my donut eating for Saturdays at the Franklin Farmer's Market.

BLUEBERRY DONUT HOLES. I know this sounds revolutionary, but they are ahhhhhmazing. You have to get there early to get your hands on them, since they're pretty popular and they only make so many, but the blueberry donut holes are completely worth the trip alone. The other donuts are great, too, but try the blueberry donut holes. You'll thank me.

When I was 5 or so, I have my first memory of a junk food day that included Fox's Donut Den and Shakey's Pizza (do not know what it is now) and opening a bank account at Fidelity Federal (Starbucks) across the street from 3rd National Bank (Suntrust). When I got older they had a sit-down video game I would occasionally play on the rare occasion I was in there. It's always been there that I can remember.. sometimes I think back when Nashville was founded, they stumbled across this fully-functioning Donut store and decided it was probably best to build a city next to it. While I'm not really a doughnut fan, I can count on one hand my desire for doughnuts in the past 2 years, theirs are generally really tasty... it is possible to hit them at the stale end of bleh, but that is the risk at most places. Go there, eat at the place, it's its own experience that most people miss

What the hell is wrong with me? Seriously! I have lived in Nashville for over two years now, and I just recently tried the Donut Den? Give me a break! This place is stellar! I picked up a couple dozen donuts for my office the other morning. And though I seriously considered skipping the office and parking in a deserted parking lot to stuff my face with delicious donuts, I shared with my co-workers. My girlfriend and I seriously love donuts, but try extremely hard not to eat them. I caved for the blueberry cake donut from Fox's! Blueberry donuts are like a weakness for me and this blueberry donut is like my kryptonite! So delicious. I can't even put in words how delicious it was. Just try it for yourself!

OH MAN. THEM APPLE FRITTERS DOE. No but really, the apple fritters are the bomb. Everything from here tastes super fresh and not overly sweet like Krispy Kreme. They even have pink sprinkled donuts! I love seeing the sweet old people who hang out here in the mornings too!

Killer donuts (the coconut and white glaze is my favorite!) and a staff that is friendly and very helpful. Just know that many of their donuts are gone by dinner time, so go in the morning or early afternoon to get the array of choices. The apple fritters are insanely delicious, and i always end up getting two more donuts than i had intended. It's difficult to stay away from donut den when i find myself in Green Hills!

Super friendly staff! Apple fritter was one of the better ones I've had. Also had a croissant with chocolate icing--MIND BLOWN. This was a late night stop, not fresh out the oven and still MIND BLOWN!

Applause!!! Okay, I am a Dunkin Donut kind of gal, but I think I found heaven! Yes this place is a little slice of heaven! Treated myself to the old fashion chocolate donut, which was amazing. Also got the glazed donut holes for my pa, who LOVED them. Gone in less then 5 minutes. Hubby got there cinnamon twist and he can't stop talking about it. A MUST go!!!

I don't know about the rest of you, but I like Groupons. Not only do I enjoy buying them to places I frequent, but I also love to buy them to try out local places that I wouldn't otherwise visit regularly. Fox's Donut Den falls in the latter category -- it's a bit of a drive for me, but I've had their donuts many times and know they're good, so I quickly snatched up a Groupon when they had one available. Flash forward to yesterday when I finally got a chance to use it. My parents were in for the weekend and I wanted them to have a only-in-Nashville breakfast experience, so we eagerly made the trek to Green Hills. After navigating the mess of a parking lot, we hopped in line, excited by the smell of fresh donuts that greeted us when we walked in. When I made it to the counter, I said good morning and informed the man before ordering that I would like to use my Groupon.... and that's where the fun began. The man rolled his eyes at my Groupon and then became visibly irritated by having to "help" me. He reminded me at least twice while ordering that what I was getting would cost more than my $10 Groupon would cover, as if I was incapable of reading and doing the math for myself. Then, while ringing us up, he made a point to tell us that they were being put out financially by people using Groupons and that they couldn't wait for the whole "mess" to be over. In hindsight, at that moment I wish I would've told him to take his donuts and shove them and then taken my business elsewhere, but I think I was still in a state of shock that I was being spoken to this way when I was just standing there, politely trying to buy a freaking fritter. I'm especially irritated that I went out of my way to take my parents here and then this is how we were treated. The real icing on the donut (pun fully intended) was that I ordered a dozen mixed (which I was told on a previous visit cost around $10) and then a half dozen of mixed. (two fritters, two cream filled and two glazed donuts) and somehow I still paid $10.91 in addition to my $10 Groupon. That's $21 for 18 donuts and to be treated like I was somehow the one doing the ripping off in this situation. I love supporting local businesses and yes, Fox's donuts are pretty good, but I won't be returning. I can drive a much shorter distance to Krispy Kreme for a donut fix and not be treated like a burden in the process.

A great place to stop and snack on some of Americas favorite fries dough. They serve a variety of different donuts and a wide selection of milk. This is a pretty cut and dry place but the dough is excellent. I'm glad I'm leaving Nashville soon so I don't clog by arteries here at "the den"

Fox's Donut Den is like an old-fashioned diner transplanted to Nashville except it only serves delicious baked goods and the servers have southern accents. This place has seriously been around for ages; my family used to stop here after church for donut holes and chocolate milk when I was a kid. It is a busy place in the mornings and they expect service to go fast, so you gotta know what you want when you go up to order. But anything you get here is pretty much guaranteed to be excellent-- I can say that because I've had almost everything on the menu!! I am a particular fan of the bagels, the muffins, the fritters, and the donut holes.. and obviously the donuts themselves. Yeah, I think I just named everything on the menu. This place used to be on my drive to work and it took all my self-control not to stop by every single morning... but I did so far more times than I'd like to admit. Donut Den is what it is, yeah, but what it is is pretty awesome.

Can't beat delicious local baked goods. I didn't try any donuts but they looked delicious especially the filled ones. What I did have was amazing. I had a cherry fritter which made my Saturday. My friend had a cranberry walnut muffin which I had a bite of and it was perfectly moist and flavorful. I got there about 8:45 on a Saturday and the line was right to the door. The man in front of me said, must be rush hour? And the girl at the counter said definitely. I loved Fox Donut Den because all of the different type of pastries they had. I like sweets and coffee on weekends and I'm not a huge fan of Dunkin Donuts. Fox's is a great find for me. I can't wait to slowly work my way through the case. It was definitely overwhelming at first glance and I had a hard time deciding. They have very friendly staff and a cute feel to the restaurant. They offer a Texas Sized donut that one lady was picking up while I was waiting in line. It looked perfect for parties or birthdays. I also appreciate the early hours. As some one who has to start work at 6am, I love office party options that I can pick up on my way to work. The bagels looked fresh and I can't wait to try those as well. Love that this place is a Nashville legend and love that I can support a local business and get amazing breakfast treats at the same time :)

The vintage sign is worth the trip there. We met for sweets prior to shopping and all that crazy stuff. They share a lot with other businesses but we found a spot right by the door. Did i mention that I really love that sign? It's kind of smallish inside and the donuts were fresh as was the coffee. The girl behind the counter was friendly and quick. I'm glad to support local places like this. Especially when everything seems to be a link in some chain. The The Donut Den has stood the test of time and I hope it's around for years to come.

As far as Nashville sweet desserts go, nothing is better than Fox's Donut Den. It absolutely creams the competition when it comes to morning treats. And - best of all: it's a local joint. I honestly don't know what more to say other than their donuts are delicious and the variety is amazing. They have muffins and other breakfast treats, although I haven't ever tried them. And, most importantly, Fox's sells the best bagels EVER. I love nothing more than a dense, doughy bagel and they deliver. The cream cheese they offer isn't of the Philly Cheese packaged variety, either, but scooped into a little container. A bagel+cream cheese at Fox's will even run you less than the same at Panera. So, what are you waiting for? Stop by - morning, day or night - for a special treat from Fox's Donut Den. And don't forget to stop and appreciate the old-school neon sign that was saved by the community when the shopping center underwent a face-lift.

A Nashville institution. Freshly made every day, in every variety you can fathom. The staff is always cheerful and helpful, and the prices are reasonable. Try the Maple Bacon donut. Mmm...

We were there last night 11/08/13 and they didn't have hardly any donuts. We got four glazed and a apple fritter. The donuts tasted old. You could tell they were not fresh. They are open late an you would think they would make fresh donuts through out the times they were open. It would only make sense. But guess that's not the case. The apple fritter was good. The donuts prob would taste better if we had gotten them while they were fresh. We will try them again sometime maybe.

I just moved here and I am looking for a good donut place. Not much of a selection when I went. They didn't even have a plain glazed donut! All I really wanted was a chocolate long john with whipped cream in the middle not the Bavarian cream middle, which was really only on the ends not all the way through it. I gave it a try, not good! Well my search will continue!

First, let's acknowledge that Fox's has little in the way of competition. There is a dearth of independent donut shops in this town, and their location is prime, so they do pretty well. I've been a few times now, enough to try several different flavors/types and get a feel for their range. Usually when I go to a donut shop, I get three things: the fritter, blueberry cake, and a glazed old-fashioned. I'll try a regular donut every once in a while, but those three are my go-to for evaluation and satiation. The apple fritter is the best donut I've had here, though along the fritter spectrum, it's nowhere close to my top five. It could use more apple in it and doesn't quite melt in your mouth the way the best fritters do.The blueberry cake just isn't right. The first time I got one, it literally tasted like it'd been baked with dryer sheets. The second time it was at least edible, but still not what I'd call good. The old-fashioneds are pretty good, though I got a cinnamon one today that was extremely dry. I tried out a glazed with chocolate and it was excellent. A nice chewy donut with tasty chocolate frosting without being sickly sweet. Also of note: sodas in this place are silly expensive. At all the independent donut shops I've been to before, I could get a can of soda for under a buck. This place, it cost me $2.09 for a medium fountain soda. I won't be making that mistake again. So basically, Fox's is a decent choice since there's nothing better around. I'll continue to go here when I get the urge every few months, but it isn't a place I'd seek out. In fact, given the traffic I always have to wade through to get there, I'll probably try to suppress my urge to support local business and just go to Krispy Kreme next time.

Stopped in one early Sunday morning for some breakfast donuts. I certainly wasn't disappointed. The selection is very satisfying, the coffee was good and the staff was friendly. The huge Neon sign is also a nice inviting touch. Not to missed if you are in the mood for Donuts!

OMG that was THE best custard filled long john I have ever eaten....they could not add one more squeeze of custard bc it is filled to the max. The donut holes were gianormous and yummy too! No one leaves this place disappointed that's for sure!!!

We stopped in a Fox's late, after a show and were happy to see they he was still open. Is Fox's the best donut I ever had? No. But I'm sure it was much better about 14 hours before I bought it. The store is charming, a part of the city's history and stays open late. They use a classic batter which reminded me of another favorite donut joint that is now out of business. So yes, Krispy Kreme will be pumping out perfect hot fresh donuts all day long, but Fox's is special.

A staple of the Hills. I used to buy doughnuts for my staff here all of the time back when my office was in Green Hills (and before my office got invaded by termites, but hey, that's another story). Now, I don't make it by as much, but it still is always an excellent experience. The doughnuts are solid and a world better than the chain places, like Dunkin and Krispy Kreme (although admittedly, nothing beats a hot n fresh KK dougnut liquefying into a puddle of love in your mouth). Despite the facelift of the shopping center, they were allowed to keep their cool kitschy sign! Inside definitely has a great retro feel too, and it always seems like they are staffed by friendly high school kids. Tip 'em!

Never thought I would be writing an update for this place. I mean, come on, I gave it five stars; so how could it get any better. Well, I'm glad you asked. While I still miss their kolaches (I am guessing you have to get there early in the morning to nab one), they have a nice selection of biscuit sandwiches and now bagels. Their sandwiches are sausage, ham and now chicken! So on a whim both my fiancee and I got a chicken biscuit sandwich with a few doughnuts. Funny how there was all that CFA stuff yesterday, cause what they pass off to the customer does not even measure close to the delicious, melt in your mouth, goodness that is a Fox's Doughnut Den Chicken Sandwich. Only Loveless is better and that is saying something! I will be returning here often, but not always, to enjoy their amazing chicken sandwich and support a great local business at the same time. And hopefully, finally nab another one of their amazing kolaches which I have been craving so much since moving up here. I miss good kolaches and I wish their were more places with them. :( But at least Doughnut Den is local and delicious! On that note, this is definitely one of the places my fiancee and I will be recommending to our guests who attend our wedding and want to experience Nashville in all its foodie glory! Edit: They do still have kolaches and it turns out they went to my home town to learn how to make them. That being said they keep them in the fridge behind the counter with the drinks, so you have to ask for them specifically. That being said, while not exactly the kolaches I grew up eating they are so good!

Fox's is a great place to get your dessert fix. Not that there aren't some great places in the area to find wonderful desserts, and Whole Foods adds to that list now, but Fox's is the cheap, fast alternative that you can count on. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I really like their classic glazed best of all. Not to say their other choices aren't great, because they are, but the classic glazed is all i need when I stop in here for a quick fix. A+ service to is an extra bonus.

Who said that Donuts were only for breakfast? I had them smack in the middle of the afternoon, yes at 2:15pm to be exact. And they were "melt-in-your-mouth" GOOD. I walked in and mentioned out loud that I felt a chill. The employee immediately went to check the thermostat. That was unexpected but hey, thanks for the extra attention! :) My husband and I were the only ones in the store and with the trays at their emptying points, I assumed that we wouldn't have anything "fresh". Boy, was I wrong! The chocolate glazed donut that we got was warm and soft and well, the best donut that I've had in a LONG time. Honestly I would dare say that it's one of the best donuts I've ever had. I also got a few of their blueberry donut holes which I felt were a little too hard, but I'm willing to give them another shot because I like cake donuts and wonder what they'd taste like really fresh. I'm so glad that we stopped into Fox's Donut Den! There isn't much parking directly infront of the store so be ready to park a bit aways and walk over. Honestly it's worth the walk AND it helps me burn off a few calories to justify eating MORE donut deliciousness! P.S. That shopping center is really busy with a small lot so be ready to circle around or wait patiently for a spot. Give yourself plenty of time!

Decent donuts. The cake types were standard fare, I don't feel they were any better than either major chain. The real flavor was in the yeast products. Awesome Bavarian creme. Awesome cinnamon twist. A little disappointed with the lemon creme...Jello pudding? Kolaches are what brought me in...but they are the meat variety. Really, they're just good pigs in a blanket. Kinda disappointing. Ambience is good. Prices fair. Parking difficult due to construction. Would pick over Krispy Kreme. Hard call over DD, with the win only for supporting small biz.

Lots of options but ultimately not superior to other doughnuts I've had. The customer service wasn't great. The line moved surprisingly slowly for a doughnut place and then it took us awhile to get our order rung up. We tried a few different varieties of the doughnuts. All fine, not spectacular or special. Probably better than Dunkin Donuts but more inconvenient. I don't think I could say definitively better than Krispy Kreme although I do prefer local places.

I had a chocolate glazed doughnut and the chocolate eclair and they were fantastic! I spoke with Dr. Fox and he is very friendly. I enjoyed my doughnuts at F.D.D. and the atmosphere Dr. Fox has created. I will return.

According to some poll/survey, Fox was one of the top five donut places in the nation. Obviously we had to go. Nondescript and located in a strip mall/shopping center, FDD is unassuming but classic. The interior is sparse with the counter, donuts, a couple of tables and a bar at the front. But you love it. You will love it. You don't mind the worn out seats and cushions because the ambience adds to the history of the place and keeps it authentic and casual. We ordered a sampling of twelve donuts and black coffees (get your coffees without sugar. Seriously. You won't need it.) and went to town. Regular glazed? Perfect. Red velvet? Perfect. Apple strudel type donut? Perfect Chocolate frosted? Perfect Cream filled? Friends loved it. I'm lactose intolerant so I didn't try it. Chocolate? Perfect. Croissant donut? Perfect. Are you seeing the pattern? Crunchy outside but with a chewy inside that gets chewier and softer the deeper into the donut you go, FDD deserves whatever accolades it's received and will continue to receive.

Good old fashioned donuts at the Donut Den. Are the best donuts I've ever had? No, but they're some of the best and I love that the Den has late hours.

I've only been here once, and I liked it. They open SUPER early which is why I tried it. I got a doughnut and a coffee for like 2 bucks or something. Very yummy. If I was a regular doughnut person this would be it for me. Parking was good and the service was great.

The donuts are good; the muffins are even better. Kidz at Hillsboro High School next door love Fox's Donut Den, as do the discerning pastry lovers in the Green Hills neighborhood and beyond.

Maybe they can open one up in San Francisco? ; )

I love the apple fritters and the blueberry donut holes. It's all good, but these are my favorites. The maple glazed are a close third. Get there early for the freshness, or go late for a post-dinner, post-anything sugarfest. Definitely a Nashville staple.

But I will be repeating Fox's Donut Den in the very near future.

we first walked in and were a little wary, since the shop itself looks a bit run down and there wasn't a huge selection in the case. but really, who cares, b/c the donuts were amazing! we got one glazed and one chocolate croissant/donut hybrid and were licking the wrappers clean at the end. we also considered buying a third donut to split, but managed to exercise some restraint (*pats self on back*). the shop is probably run down b/c they're open 19hrs a day and are too busy making amazing donuts to care about renovating. and they were out of a lot of flavors b/c the donuts are so good, it's hard to keep them in stock (the guy in line behind us bought 2 dozen to go, and this was at 3pm). i live in walking distance of dunkin donuts, but would rather get in my car and trek out to green hills for a fox's donut. i'm going to try my best not to come here every day (but i can't make any promises)!

A great place to stop and snack on some of Americas favorite fries dough. They serve a variety of different donuts and a wide selection of milk. This is a pretty cut and dry place but the dough is excellent. I'm glad I'm leaving Nashville soon so I don't clog by arteries here at "the den"

I will return.

after trying these guys at sugar rush and being quite impressed, I came by to see what they had to offer in their store.
