So, you've had a baby or some other major in-patient surgery at Baptist, Vanderbilt, or Centennial hospital and you are completely tired of hospital food. Well, I feel ya, and I agree that it is about the only way you could get me to eat at a chain restaurant in the first place. This Chili's location is close to the three hospitals and Vanderbilt University. In fact, 10 to 12 years ago when I attended Vanderbilt this place was always hopping with students on a Friday or Saturday night because it was cheap and convenient. (Yes, snarky people even Vanderbilt students like to eat cheap-ish food. We're students too.) The location is like any other location of Chili's (hence it is a chain restaurant). The food is mediocre to less-than-mediocre, the service is moderately slow to darned slow, and the drinks are watered down and full of sweet "stuff" with low alcohol content. I just ate here because I needed something that someone could pick up for me and bring to the hospital that was close to the hospital and would not inconvenience them more than I already was inconveniencing them by asking for a dinner delivery. It's a Chili's restaurant. What can you say? I'd say: eat elsewhere unless you have no other choice.

One might think that a Chili's, is a Chili's, is a Chili's. Well, damn. You are right. A gift card and coupon for a free app on Tax day led me Chili's near Vanderbilt. I had never been to this location before despite that it is walking distance from both work and home. The layout was nice and the place was mildly filled with patrons. We chose a place by the bar so that we could watch ESPN Sports Center. It was happy hour which runs until 10p.m. every night (two for one) but the glasses are super small. Surprisingly, there were several groups of gentlemen in suits around the place. I guess Chili's is the new golf course for business deals. We ordered the Loaded Potato Skins (normally $7.50-ish) for our free appetizer. For the meal I settled on the black bean substitute of the hickory bacon burger. To be honest, that wasn't the greatest choice in the world but I was able to squeeze a lunch out of it for the next day. My co-diner husband ordered the full rack of ribs that was partially recycled into a rib meat sandwich for a subsequent lunch. As soon as it came I gave him a look chock full o' judgement and simply asked,"Why?" He claims they were good so, who knows! Since it is located so close to Vanderbilt it is a prime location for hospital patients/families and the undergraduate division of Vanderbilt. Otherwise, there are greater dining locations in the area.

Great food, service, drinks and location.

Good food and GREAT people. Went there for a quick meal because it was right next to our hotel. The food was typical Chili's fare, ribs, steak, and fries...good, classic, American eats. The service was fantastic....our server was attentive and genuinely friendly. Both my wife and I appreciated that. One complaint: the little video units at each table...annoying.

The only restaurant I ever just walked out of! After being seated my party and I were handed some menus and everything seemed like a normal Chili's experience, cool. Then the minutes ticked past. After about 7 minutes someone came to ask if we were being helped. No we said. She apologized and took our drink orders and said she'd find our waitress. Another 10 minutes with no contact and I just said, "we're done here." We just got up and left with nobody at the door to ask us why or to even give us a dirty look. Ah well, maybe we just hit them on an off night. But still a negative experience for sure. On the bright side Jimmy Johns is next door and we were eating within two minutes of leaving Chili's!

I had to grab something by the hotel and this was close and familiar. Or so I thought until I walked inside. The place was jammed and there was a wait, apparently basketball is a popular sport and people leave their homes to come here to watch it or something? I grabbed the only seat at the bar and proceeded to order a drink from the bar's ONE BARTENDER who moved so fast she was a blur. I didn't know the teams playing; I didn't care, I just wanted food and a couple of drinks. But oh no you can't go to what amounts to a sports bar near Vandy and not experience the crowd interacting with the TV. So I decided to go native and get the wings (yeah twist my arm haha). Presentation was above average but I wasn't crazy about them over all: they were fried well but the sauce was thin and barely present, just like my knowledge of basketball. It got hairy in there kids. There were spurs and clippers and foul things and sweating and it wasn't even a fetish party! They cheered one thing and protested another and before long I was swept up, forsaking my vodka in favor of beer and swearing about DeAndre Jordan JUST making his first career 3-pointer seven years after being drafted what a debutante. By the time I left I was mumbling to my cohorts about Kawhi Leonard wiping the floor with Blake Griffin next time and vowing to be specific about how wet I want my wings then too.

People scoff, but I like Chili's. I had their seasonal watermelon cooler (vodka) drink, and spicy shrimp tacos. They were both delicious. Went next door to Logan's Roadhouse the next night, and it was terrible. Chili's had better food and better service. The tacos could have used more heat (not really spicy), and more slaw/crunch. But the sauce was delicious and the shrimp weren't overcooked. The beans and rice had some good depth of flavor. Service was friendly and efficient. It isn't "upscale", but very good for the price and I would go back.

Another Chain review. Predictable and decent They have the 2 for 20 with 2 entrees and app. Sometimes those don't work or all because they limit which what how...Son usually has the ribs and the molton lava cake. He loves loves loves that cake. He had wings this visit. They have one flavor. Not hot but nicely warm with celery and blue cheese and ranch. Basic, predictable and decent. I had the soup and salad. It was supposed to be unlimited, the server never asked me if I wanted more. I was at the end of her shift and I really did not want any more..but nice to be asked. They also have a new thing at the table, you can pay or play games or join their rewards program. Not sure we will eat there enough, unless people at work want to keep coming back. If you sign up, you get enough points for first app. It did not come off our bill this time. Not sure I should have asked. By the time the bill came, I was ready to leave the basic and predictable and decent place. Guess I am indirectly not liking our server. Parking is underneath, place seemed clean. TV"s were around but different channel on each one. Was not too crowded at around 3:30 pm Fries are seasoned, I forgot how much I like them. Taco's look really good, but we have our staple Mexican for those. Ho humm. Still great for easy and predictable.

If your ribeye steak leaves your lips greasy you have issues. 1/4 cup of butter for a steak. Potatoes so hard they required a knife Multiple temperatures Mac and cheese. Way too casual attitude from a waiter who uses Bro, Dude and Bitchin Service was horrible. Food was worse Management told me that they encouraged their staff to be casual. I have to ask why not show up naked?

Overall the food was great not my first time being there. Greeter greeted and seated us instantly to our table. The waitress greeted and took our order in a timely fashion. However we sat there and waited patiently but wondering why the two sets of people that were sat after us received drinks and food before us. then the waitress come back and takes our food order. she was friendly just wondering where our drinks and food were for a while. I would visit there again just maybe ask for another waitress.

It's chili's. It's standard and run of the mill. I wasn't impressed or disappointed because they're all relatively the same! You can definitely do much better in a city like this. If you are however, looking for a chili's or something along the same lines you shouldn't be disappointed. Alright, I've upped my review because I really enjoyed the bartenders. If you're at the bar you won't be disappointed and the service they provide is exceptional.

Came with a group our server Adrian was friendly But not a good waitress..had to ask other servers for Refills.and she under charged us then came back and said we had to pay the balance causing 2 transactions I asked since it was her mistake not to charge us she laughed..and ran the other charge up..

One of the reasons why I don't like chain restaurants is the wait. It took about 35 minutes to get my soup and sandwich. That doesn't leave very much time to eat and get back to work under an hour. The Bacon Avocado sandwich on a Pretzel bun was pretty good. It was served with some homestyle fries and a bowl of soup for $8. It was a nice portion for lunch.

We visit here for lunch about once a week. It is by far the best Chilis I've ever visited. The flatbreads are delicious, and the service is A+. The Chilis team is aware of the limited time most lunch goers have, so there is never a long wait for food.

Worst service EVER! Our waitress wasn't familiar with the menu, she never filled our water glasses, brought out the wrong food, and argued that it wasn't ordered correctly. I would not recommend eating at this establishment -there are way too many other restaurants in the area that know how to treat a customer. The table beside us was also experiencing the same issue with another waiter. No management in site -which may be part of the problem. Awful

Directly across the street from the dorms at Vanderbilt, this is a place understandably frequented by Vandy students and fans, especially during football season. The 2 for 1 happy hour specials are a draw, as are their extremely munchable (and complimentary!) never-ending chips and salsa. Their margaritas were pre-mixed and were good, and beer was good too (what can go wrong with beer?). Mike, our bartender, recently arrived from Tampa but ran the bar in fine fashion. Parking is around back, down an alley and underneath the restaurant. It is very tight and looks like it fills up fast.

It's a level up from Applebee's. I don't go to Chili's often but I do enjoy the Presidente Margarita and the Crispy Chicken Crispers. I feel like every time I go back, the menu has grown substantially. I find it hard to branch out with so many choices so I tend to stick to what I know...the chicken crispers or burgers. Both are pretty good. This Chili's is right near Vanderbilt so it tends to be pretty busy but usually there is not a wait. It's a typical Chili's

My BFF and co worker went here today for lunch and it was great. We sat at the bar and the bartender name was Justin. He was so cool and suggested the southwestern soup which was so good. We all had a long island ice tea and a strawberry daiquiri which was sooo good. We also enjoyed the free chips and salsa at the bar. It wasn't crowded and there was no wait. I will definitely go back, but only when Justin is working :) lol

I made the mistake of visiting both the Chili's and the TGI Friday's back-to-back. Both are getting the same rating. So, I grew up with that jingle in my head, "Chili's, Baby Back Ribs". Having never been to one, I came in and immediately ordered the Baby Back Ribs. They were good. They weren't tender-off-the-bone good. Not a place I'd go to for BBQ, but apparently I've been trying BBQ at chain restaurants while in Nashville. I love me some BBQ. The fries were okay. The molten lava cake was dry that I was glad I had molten ice cream to moisten it. I came in at 2PM and there were many business folks still here at that time.

I am so lucky to be a Wish Granter for Make-A-Wish (MAW) Middle Tennessee and I was having a follow-up meeting with my MAW child and her family. We decided to meet at my MAW child's favorite restaurant! I was trying to think back to the last time I had been to Chili's and it was probably five+ years! When I was younger, I remember being SO excited when Chili's was opening up in my hometown. We ordered the chips and salsa as a started. The chips were a bit salty for my taste and the salsa was not very good. I wanted to order a healthy choice entree and decided to go with the Caribbean Salad which is filled with fresh pineapple, mandarin oranges, dried cranberries, red bell peppers, green onions, cilantro, sesame seeds and honey-lime dressing. I decided to add grilled chicken. I would have to say that my salad lacked in taste, flavor, and freshness. As advertised, the only thing fresh was the pineapple. The iceberg lettuce didn't taste very 'clean' and that made it hard to stomach. Then, the chicken really tasted rubbery which disturbed me. I tried my best to eat the salad but could not finish even half. I then realized why I hadn't been to Chili's in years.

Yes I know it's Chili's and it certainly wasn't my idea. But hopefully this will serve as a warning to anyone picking Chili's locations. If I could give it zero stars I would. This is the worst Chili's I have EVER been to. Little parking, not clean, rude servers and hostesses, horrible clientele. They've set up an entire room like some kind of picnic place with benches of tables due to hoards of large groups of "students" (that's questionable) being loud and obnoxious, screaming across tables like they're in a barnyard. We asked to move elsewhere and you'd have thought we asked to give the manager a beatdown. They had a freaking SECURITY GUARD employed by Chili's standing around in there, if that tells you anything. Never. Again.

  • David O.

I've been to this Chili's several times in the past and had an average experience. My most recent experience was pretty much the same. Average to slow service, for average food. The Manager came around with the most half hearted "How is everything?" I've heard in a while. Its hard to complain when the food is average. At least with BAD food there would have been something to get upset about. The recent removal of the Fajitas Quesadilla from the menu would seem to make future visits unlikely for me.

My family and I stopped in here on a Saturday afternoon. I hadn't been to a Chili's for several years. They have a parking garage under the restaurant for Chili's customers which is fairly convenient. We were greeted immediately and sat in a booth at the front of the restaurant. The server was very nice. She took our drink order and was pleasant to talk to. Cleanliness was not an issue either. It seems to be a well taken care of restaurant. My problem is the food. I can tell its low quality frozen food. None of us were impressed and we all agreed that we would not be back to Chili's again. I should know better than to expect anything less from a big name chain. Oh well...... You live and learn.

Why? Why would anyone eat at this chain restaurant with some of the worst food on the planet. Avoid like the plague. Eat out of a trash can if want better food.

I'm not a huge Chili's fan in general but we ordered from here today for lunch and I was actually impressed. I'm not sure if they were quick or not on preparing the food, since I didn't facilitate ordering and picking it up. They don't deliver though. I ordered the Chicken Fajita Pita though, and it was SO yummy. I loved it. I was confused though, cuz on their website it said that it was only 330 calories, but every other diet website said it was 450... strange. Also they were really skimpy on the steamed broccoli. It all tasted great though. I'll definitely order it again.

I'm just not a fan of chain restaurants. I'm sure when you come here during busy hours it's fine, but I usually find myself here for a late-night meal with my boyfriend and it is just not great for that. Service is usually friendly, which helps, but the food is very mediocre. I suggest any other late-nighters to order very basic hot foods or appetizers. Salads and soups late at night are sub-par because they've already started packing things away for the night, and they usually shut off the soup early. So hey, if you are just wanting a meal that you don't have to cook yourself, knock yourself out. Otherwise, pass.

We are here visiting Nashville and we decided to eat at Chili's .We eat at Chili's in California and love it great food and service and very clean. The Chili's in Nashville we phoned in our order to be picked up. They said 30 minutes so my husband arrived to pick up our food he waited 15 minutes until someone even asked him if he needed help.As he was waiting other people were in line behind him waiting also.Findley someone came up and he gave his name it took another 10 minutes to get our food. As he was standing waiting he was looking around and noticed how dirty the restraunts was and how unorganized they were. He brought the food back to our hotel and the Hamburger and fries were ice cold. And my baby back ribs were the worst ribs I have ever had .Very cold and not cooked enough no flavor, and my fries ice cold also. I would not recommend eating their.

I love Chili's. The Quesodilla Explosion Salad and the queso dip make me happy every time I think about them. The service is always great and if you have the opportunity to sit at the bar with Jeremy, you will be a fan for life. His service is fast and generous and he will take the time to make you whatever drink you want...plus you can't beat Chili's Happy Hour. The only problem with this particular Chili's is that my finance can't stand to go inside the doors...and he has a legitimate reason, which urks me because we live right behind it: This reason is: THE VOLUME CONTROL... or lack there of. My sister, mother, and I went at 8:00 pm this past Wednesday and it was so loud, we ended up outside. Outside was pleasant minus Nashville's humidity, but we came to talk and catch up and if you have to scream to be heard, it defeats this purpose. This is a fair warning to all and all Chili's are not this way, but there has not been a time we have been in there that the volume of people talking has not been uncontrollable...if you have a date where you want to eliminate conversation, this is the venue for you, otherwise, even though I hate to say it because I love Chili's so--this is not the right place to go...

What's so bad about this place? I was just looking for a casual restaurant to eat at so I didn't have to cook, and everything about this experience was exactly what I wanted. There's parking in an underground garage behind the restaurant- plenty, in fact. We were seated promptly and served quickly. Our service was awesome- I didn't expect such attentive and cheerful service, but that's what we got. Cheap- ordered the $20 for 2 and got an appetizer and 2 entrees. Texas cheese fries was loaded with cheese and bacon. Classic bacon burger was juicy and flavorful. Lemonade and blackberry iced tea were both refreshing and delicious. No complaints here!

Ok .... it's Chili's, your typical chain restaurant. My avacado burger as ok. Nothing to write about for sure. What was so great about this particular visit was our service. She was phenomenal. I honestly cannot believe the difference in attitude in the south in general.

    (3)
  • Paige W.

Chili's is Chili's. The food is the same everywhere. The happy hour, though, is a good deal. 2 for 1 drinks until 8pm! (And if you go to Vandy, you can use the Vandy card to pay for your drinks on meal money) The bar can get very crowded, especially on weekends, but the happy hour special is offered in the restaurant, as well. If you are going during peak hours on a weekend (circa 6-8pm), expect a wait.

I had the worst experience at this chilis. We arrive and are seated in the back with some friends. We waited for about 10 minutes and no one ever came to our table. A waitress walks by and we tell her we are ready to order and she says she will find our waitress. We wait another ten minutes and no one comes. So finally, we are so hungry that we decide to leave. Well, i wasnt pleased with the service..or the lack of service. So i called the Chilis and asked to speak with the manager. The mgr comes to the phone and i explain what happens. He doesnt offer an apology at all. Just states they were busy and that can happen sometimes. So i explained to him it wouldnt happen to me b/c i wouldnt step foot back into his restaurant and i would make sure and let my friends know as well. Word of mouth can really hurt business. I had always been a chilis fan but no longer. Very disappointed.
