This is place is exactly like hooters without the boobs. I love wings but I like them kind of tangy and I need to control my spice. Toot's offers me that and the price is right. I think the original store was in Murfreesboro and now there is one is Smyrna. They have a big ole' iguana at the hostess stand and otherwise it really is like hooters in decor and style. Mugs of beer, bar food, sports on TV, grease, testosterone, just no boobies... It's definitely fine to bring your kids and they offer a hot dog meal including ice cream and I think it's free. I always order the wings so I cant' speak for the rest of the menu but let me speak to what i know. You can order them in different amount starting around $5 and then they have 4 levels of hotness. The sauce has just the right amount of tangy mixed with the spice and they are generous with the ranch or blue cheese. The wings are only lightly breaded but pack plenty of crisp. I love good value and always feel like I get exactly what I am craving when I come and I always feel like I got my moneys worth. My motto is that if you are going to eat something that may kill you eventually, it better be to die for!!

Ok food, ok prices. Pretty middle of the road. This place was packed when I got there at 9:45 and it seems to be a local "hot" spot. But just not sure why? It's not Hooters and it's food it nothing special. If your looking for a sports bar minus hooters boobs, than this might be your place. If your looking for great food keep driving. If you find nothing else open than maybe. But can't understand the crowd seems unwaranted, atleast from what my perspective.

I live in Murfreesboro and have been to Toots about a dozen times over the years. I like to go for the appetizers like peel and eat shrimp, oysters and wings. Here's the thing about Toots though, I can never get anyone to go with me. The kids think it's lame and the wife thinks the food is not that good. We go out to eat a lot with the neighbors and they feel the same way- the food is just ok and it's a pain to get into. Don't get me wrong I do like to go, but I guess i don't understand the huge draw. Maybe because its family oriented and not too expensive? It's supposed to be good food and fun- so if standing in line for 'just ok' food is your bag this is the place for you. It's come a long way though... When I first went in 1999 you could smoke in there. I swear you'd come out smelling like an ash tray - and the waitress's would have to get up on the tables and hoolah-hoop! Go to Toots off hours enjoy a beer and some appetizers then go to dinner some place good.

I dream of waking up to find they've built a Toot's in Texas! I grew up going here, and it's always been one of my favorite greasy spoons. The burgers are big and delicious. Thw wings even better, and who can forget those onion strings? Oh, what I wouldn't give to go back right now!

Only went once a couple of years ago. Was decent, but the environment was a little too greasy and grungy. Food was pretty good, but the tables, floor, walls, ceiling tiles - all seemed like a greasy dive. Very friendly staff. They're building a new one on South Church Street - hopefully with it being newer and no smoking allowed inside, it will be more enjoyable.

toots is a local favorite. I'm not writing this for anyone from around here because if you are form here then you have been here already. This is great except that it means this place is packed just about always. The whole vibe here is hooteresque. They use young, attractive young women in skimpy clothing, but its not so ridiculous you can't take your kids, as you'll find everyone else does. the food is good and priced well for what it is. it's fried for the most part. I suggest the fried pickles. they have cold beer and everything comes out quick most of the time despite the crowd.

Aside from it being a complete and utter ripoff of Hooters (which is my baby...6 years!) right down to the plates... I thoroughly enjoy this place. They have great fried pickles, service with a smile, and a rockin' atmosphere. I feel all greasy inside after eating, but I wouldn't expect to feel any other way after eating wings and fries. Their children's specials are amazing too - a free hot dog! Seriously!

I love Toot's. It's amazing. Everything I've ever eaten here was amazing. If you like fried pickles this is your place. If you don't, try them, because I assure you, you'll love it. I love their Cajun Chicken Salad Wrap, Grilled Chicken Sandwich, and the Jalepeno Burger with bacon. They have a good beer and wine selection. The atmosphere is very low-key, very sports bar-ish. I love it though. It's definitely a fun place and I hear their wings are great, I've just never tried them.

Best cajun hot wings (or cajun grilled chicken salad for that matter) on the planet.

I've always had a good experience with Toot's even if it was on the other side of town when I lived in good ole Tennessee. The food is what I would expect going in to this place and price comparison I couldn't tell you- it's been too long for me to recall that. The waitstaff was friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere was great. It's always nice to have fried pickles (do they still have these?) when you are craving them. To refute a post below- I think Toot's might have been here before Hooter's...

Hooters, without the good food and well, the Hooters. I honestly don't know the draw to this place. It attempts a fun atmosphere, but somehow comes closer to just TVs and noise. Very tightly packed place. The Oysters were fair, a bit too warm for me to feel comfortable in ordering them again, perhaps they sat on my plate too long before the waitress brought them out, not sure. The food is mediocre. I had a fish sandwich, and my girlfriend got the ribs. Both were just OK. I think I may give this place another chance during football season, but for now, I have had better.

Best chicken wings by far! Tonight was our first time and not even planned. We were just darn hungry lol. Shoutout to our waiter Jim! Friendly and energetic despite that it's already close to midnight. :) oh! the food came out in less than 10 mins. PRETTY IMPRESSIVE in our opinion. If your in murfreesboro. Better try them out. Worth every penny. And look for Jim!

I went here for the first time today and it was great. My dad and I got the fried pickles and I ate most of it. I got the catfish and my dad got the Cajun chicken salad. You don't need to eat the lettuce. Very good service. My dad even went here when this place was just 4 years old. Great place. Definitely coming back.

  • Don R.

I have eaten here twice and I am not impressed. The wings were soft not crispy and the sauce was worse than hooters. I also tried the ribs, bad move, the tasted like they were reheated in a microwave. I was given my check half way thru my dinner. The only reason it gets two stars is my job got takeout boneless wings that were decent. Second worst hot wings in the boro.

A true Murfreesboro original! Like many others, i've been coming to Toot's since I was just a wee little lad. I've grown up, but Toot's hasn't changed much. The Broad St. location (Original) is still by far the best. They have added on a little over the years. THe menu has changed a little too. But the service is still phenomenal and the food is always Toots. Love it!!!

My family and I have been coming to toots for 15 years now. My home is about three hours away but I will make the drive just for the fried pickles and hot wings. They are just what they claim to be a family bar. There are kids running around, college students hanging out, business lunches, older couples, families, and just people looking for good food. They have daily basket specials normally around $7. Over the years I have tried almost everything on the menu and have enjoyed everything. My favorite things are fried pickles, med hot wings, nachos, fried clams and burger. But they also have a great salad if you are looking to be a bit healthier. They also have great beer specials. Also those of you with kids (not sure if they still do this but) you can print a coloring page off line have your hold color it and they get a free kids meal with purchase. And the staff is always friendly and on top of it. Great atmosphere!

I have always loved Toot's. The meals I've always gotten from there have been great. I've not always cared for the service, based on who was waiting on our table, but I guess I needed to remember that it's just a bunch of college kids in there working. The best thing you can get there is either the Toot's burger or the chicken strip meal, either with the curly fries. Can't go wrong. Sauces are usually great too. Now I want to go again!

  • Kasi Z.

I was excited to try their fried pickles and chicken tenders. The food was okay, very average, but I guess you don't really expect anything more from this place. Fried pickles are your average fried pickles, quite salty. The chicken tenders aren't the best that you can find around here.

  • Catherine K.

This place is always great! My kid loves the hot dog basket. And Mom loves that it's free with the purchase of an adult entree! I recommend the fried pickles and the chicken tenders with hot sauce.

Was good food. Didn't take long to get it! Some different menu items.

  • Jonathan B.

The menu is very affordable. They always have random specials. As far as comparing it to Hooters - it definitely comes off as more family-friendly than Hooters. Service is typically fast but all I ever get are the wings so I doubt it takes them long to prepare them. As far as chains go this is my go-to for wings whenever I'm in Murfreesboro. My favorite sauce is the hot-bbq. I used to love their ninja sauce on their chicken tenders but they no longer offer it.

Great fried clams! House margaritas are delish. Family place with lots of noise. Simple food at good prices.

  • Mark C.

I've been coming here for years and it is still as awesome as the first time. Beer is cold, great atmosphere. Chicken finger plate/basket is great shaken in medium sauce. I've heard the Oysters are good and so are the clam strips. Great family place!

    (4)
  • Thomas K.

A glorified Hooters with more grease. Everything is fried and worse taste like the oil is never changed. Got oysters and wish I hadnt, all I could taste was the grease. Shame too as I love oysters. If your into getting your arteries hardened choose this place! Im sure the air alone can coat your lungs. The pickles where better but the sauce for them isnt the best. Guess the eye candy of Hooters style orange short shorts keeps em coming.

We got sat right away the pickles were hot and we had our cajun wings with a side of the new garlic buffalo service was fast it was pretty good.We liked it better than the smyrna store.

One of my favorite places in murfreesboro. Classic sports bar feel comparable to Hooters but with better food, family atmosphere, and better value. Chicken tender baskets and Toot's burger are the bomb. They consistently participate/donate to local charities and organizations which is a plus as well. A must-stop when visiting the boro, also free order of fried pickle chips to newcomers!

  • Natalie D.

My first visit to Toot's was on Thursday and I must say the yelpers don't lie. I now have an affinity for fried pickles! They were the best I have ever had and I don't like pickles. The shrimp basket is awesome, the hush puppies were surprisingly delicious. A must try is their signature cherry sauce. Just do it!

To write a review of Toot's is to cast a judgement on the people of Murfreesboro. This is their restaurant. As someone who has only lived there for two years I don't believe that I have the authority to give my opinion on such a place as treasured as Toot's. It is a family bar to take little timmy to after losing the big game. It's where you go with your buddies to watch the game. It's where the family goes for dinner when mom's out of town and dad wants to steal his kid's love and let them complain about how mean she is about cleaning their room. It's the place the youth minister takes her broken hearted youth to cheer her up after some boy ran off with half the cheer squad. Toot's and Murfreesboro share a one-ness that only Adam, Eve, and Jesus have experienced with their maker and I will for one not cast judgement upon thee. But if I must... It's a decent place to grab some fried food and a beer. I always end up having a good time while i'm there. However, it's certainly not helping Tennesseans become any less diabetic and overweight.

Yes, yes, I've experienced better. The fried pickles? Fried. Salty. Meh. Burger? A burger. Fish, salad, fries - everything our table tried was very edible, mostly not even close to terrible, but ... Meh. I've experienced better. Including the service - not real slow, but not fast. Our waitress went home before we were done, apparently, but no one covered for her. I don't believe I'll go back. Too many other good places in town. Just down the street is Parthenon. Go THERE.

August 24, 2012..went to Dinner with Tony at Toot's in Murfreesboro, TN..We like this restaurant and have been here several times. There isn't much to say, they have great food on the menu but everything is usually deep fried..so my tummy was upset so I went with soup and salad and Tony went with Shrimp and Fries..he had a beer (budweiser) and I had tea with lemon/lime slices. I will add more reviews with other trips to the restaurant

Chicken is good and beer is cheap. Everything kind of tastes the same and the highschool skimpy girl outfits get old after awhile. I think kids eat free but I'm not sure.

Another outstanding lunch!!! The bone in wing done Hot are perfect and are thee best I ever had! Seriously, I am not joking here!!! Waitress was as sweet as the sweet tea!! Only sad part was Elvis (their mascot) was gone. He passed on. I was so sad to hear this. :( health board won't let them get another one! I say we petition to get them a new Elvis!!!

Every time I have been to this location we have had awesome service. The food arrived hot and the fried pickles are always on point! Service is fast and the place is clean! Love this Toots!

When I first walked in I said to myself...this is a failed Hooters that someone bought and just barely changed the name to Toots. And then I started to look the menu and was underwhelmed...so I just ordered 5 regular wings and 5 boneless. That was me playing it safe and punting this meal. The 5 regular hot wings were rolled in Cajun sauce as well which was a nice twist. Then came the most shocking thing of all time...ladies and gentlemen I may have just had the best boneless wings I've ever had in my life. Not joking. Not overhyping. These suckers were so good they tasted like butter. FAN-Freakin-tastic. I will always remember you Toot's of Smyrna, TN

Probably my favorite place to eat in Murfreesboro. A local Mom and pop place that now has a couple of locations. Chicken tenders, hot, with cole slaw and their curly fries that have some mystical seasoning....mmmmm....homer drool. Chicken on a stick with cole slaw is my low carb meal. delicious. Great specials, friendly staff, good food. Love it here.

Hooter-esq restaurant. We had wings ribs and catfish and we were all happy. Service was friendly and fast. Fried pickles appetizer was something different and surprisingly good.

Great place! Something for everyone and every "food mood" as my wife calls it. The burgers are slammin'!

The environment is pretty nice, so long as you don't go on the weekends. They pack them in like sardines on Friday and Saturday. Makes the whole trip a little less enjoyable. The atmosphere is decent. The food is pretty good. The appetizers are where it's at, though. Everyone has a burger and wings, but not everyone can serve up apps like Toots. Oysters, fried dill pickles and mini corndogs make this place stand out to me. Not to mention that all of those apps are delicious. The regular menu is kind of boring, though. It is a hot spot in middle Tennessee. If you come out to the 'Boro, you might as well swing into Toots. Try the apps, for sure! Fat Guy Approved!

In college, I used to come here often with my chums. Yes, as others have pointed out, it's the locally owned version of hooters, maybe a ripoff, tooters? but it was always alright by me. Good food, no tiny shorts or god awful tights and fun times!

    (4)
  • Rob J.

Great food and service. Be sure to get there before 12:00 for lunch as the lunch crowd show up in full force at noon and it the waits get a little longer. The service is good, as is the food which is inexpensive. The wings and fries are great but my favorite is the frog legs basket and steamed oysters.

  • James W.

there first location my favorite food spot. I was brought here when i first moved to the Boro (Murfreesboro), Tn. the waiters dress like a watered down hooter chick which is kind of fun, with exceptions for guys. The atmosphere is always nice and i always had a good time, became a regular and got to know the mangr. so the service got even better this is a must when in the Middle Tn. area

Everytime I come to visit my friends in Murfreesboro I love to visit Toot's. Its always busy but the wait is nothing like back home for Red Lobster. Awesome special sauces and of course fried pickles!!!! Plus they feed you ice cream on your birthday. Its my favorite place to dine in when I visit TN.

I agree with Steve L in his statement that this is "Murfreesboro's restaurant". I've been going here for years and as a child/teen I loved it. Now it's hit or miss for me when I go. Service is either awful or awesome, no real in between. Most of the servers are college kids. The fried pickles used to be a favorite of mine but at times they can be almost too greasy. Beer specials are good and I like that they serve pitchers of beer. My go-to entrees are either the french dip (they serve it with horseradish yyyuummm!) or the BBQ sliders which are pretty awesome. Toots is a place that will always be a symbol of nostalgia for the city and that's a reason I do enjoy going as well.

  • Ryan B.

Toot's has a varied, affordable menu. If you want loud and affordable, this is your place. It's a great feature to offer free kid's meals (hot dog), but to set the bar a tad higher, we would love it if you would grill the dog (even on a griddle).

  • Kristin W.

Fried, Greasy, um, fried... I was in town and my friend and I went to this place. I ordered the nachos which were very delicious, but nothing special. They dont have my beer on tap either which was disappointing. We also ordered the chicken wings and I was grossed out that they left the whole wing as opposed to cutting the pointy gross end off. I guess I am a drumstick girl. Overall we were underwhelmed but if in the mood I want some greasy food and beer, we might try it again.

    (3)
  • Jessica P.

One word... ick!! I'm not a very picky person but everything was extra salty and greasy. The fried Catfish tasted like seawater, gross. The only ok part about this restaurant is that prices are pretty reasonable however, there are definitely much better options even for the price. :(

    (2)
  • Jessica S.

It was good. When my husband and I walked in the hostess described the table we would sit and and we sat ourselves. The waitress and the rest if the wait staff were great; very fast ,attentive, and sweet. Draft beer was on a great special. The food was okay. Not bad but nothing I would really go back for. I got a sand which with a side of fries. Sandwich was good, fries were a little gross, too salty and cold (ended up taking them home to the dog).

    (3)

Great food and drink. Prices are excellent. We will be back. Happy hour is after eight and they have great deals.

    (4)
  • John G.

I won't be back. The food was horrible; It was greasy and sickly seasoned. The place is loud and filled with rednecks. It's just all around gross. The name is highly fitting.

    (2)
  • Greg S.

Waited 15 minutes at lunch. The place was packed, but they do turn the tables over. Service was quick and portions are huge. The ribs special was a good value but nothing special as far as taste.
