I loved Demo's when I lived in the area and miss it greatly now that I've moved away!! Thank goodness I still have lots of family there so visit TN monthly and make sure I visit Demo's when I'm in town. Their rolls and salad (blue cheese dressing please!!) are amazing! I get a few different things when I'm there but lately I've been stuck on the baked half chicken. It's so tender and so good! Also, the mexican spaghetti is so good that I have concocted our own version for home tho it's not as good as the dish I get here. There is usually a wait so when I go with a group we are usually waiting but when I sneak in and eat alone I sit at the bar and have a glass of wine while waiting on my food. Sooooo good!

A very nice, inexpensive place to go on a Friday night. I found the food to be very pleasant and you can get a burger and fries for about $6.00. The atmosphere is great and the Demos family does a good job with the restaurants the own in Nashville, Lebanon, and Murfreesboro.

We liked this place pretty well. The spaghetti was good. Hubby had the brown butter and garlic with sautéed mushrooms. And I had a plate with three different sauces (brown butter, meat, and Italian sausage). Both of us agreed the brown butter was a bit bland, but a sprinkle of salt perked it right up. The meat sauce was tasty and my favorite was the Italian sausage. The portions were large and the prices good. Our server was great and brought us lots of refills on the bread (which was fabulous). The only real negative was my salad. I ordered the Greek dressing as I'm a big fan of Greek, but unfortunately I really didn't like the dressing. It was harsh and didn't taste like any Greek dressing I'd ever had. I'm sure the waitress would have brought me something else, but it didn't seem worth asking at that point. Overall a good experience and we'll be back again.

Food was ok. Food I kinda expensive for a portion of spaghetti for $9.00

My family and I love Demo's. Great food, and extremely affordable. If you go during peak times, you'll have a long wait.

Well, I honestly don't see what the hype is all about. This is the third time I have been here and their third strike for me. Will not return again. The spinach dip was just that. Spinach with no cheese was was misleading on the menu. Then, mine and my partners salads were SWIMMING in dressing! My seafood Alfredo was pretty but my partners lasagne was rubbery and bland and sent it back. That being said! The manager came back and talked to us and they paid for the meal and apologized and our waitress was super sweet and very attentive. Good customer service doesn't make up for poor quality food though.

AVERAGE. AVERAGE. AVERAGE!! We are new to the area and we had Demo's on our list as a must visit based on local recommendations. We went to the one in Nashville, and maybe they differ because it was not enjoyable. (We were not expecting fine dining by any means.) We ordered the bacon wrapped filets. First off, it was very noisey and really crowded. A two person rest room with a line and you had to push your way through a crowd to get to it. Their martini was 1 ounce for $8. Really? My husband did complain and they comped him another ounce. The salad consisted of bagged lettuce iceberg mix on a small plate. The filiet was wrapped in bacon and was too smokey...The potato was great! Oh, and the coffee tasted old and was cold. Would I go back, probably for a burger or sandwich. I hear they have good soup...maybe will try.

My co-workers and I went here for lunch and based on others' recommendations, I got the Mexican spaghetti and cup of soup (chicken & rice). The soup wasn't hot, which irked me a bit. I was hoping for something that would warm me up but it was room temperature. It was also very salty. Still, it was much better than my main entree. The Mexican spaghetti was literally just nachos but spaghetti noddles instead of corn chips. It probably would have tasted better with the corn chips as the pasta was overcooked and didn't pair well with the Mexican nacho toppings. The whole texture combination also didn't work for me. I felt like it needed some sort of crunch with the flavours and spices, but it was more of a mushy and smooth feeling. I guess that's what I get for ordering "Mexican" food at an "Italian" restaurant. I wonder if this food combination is going to give me diarrhoea...

Ho-Hum. That's my review in a word, but I'll elaborate. Demos' is the place that seems really classy and delicious when you're in high school, going on first dates with other teenagers. Most of the Italian food you've had has been made by Fazoli's or Chef Boyardee, so this seems like the best stuff on Earth! And provided you never go to any other Italian places, this statement will be true. But there is much superior Italian food out there, easy. Now, this is just MY opinion about the food. One thing that is universally true is that this local business is run by some pretty rough owners and managers. I've known a ton of people who got Demos' paychecks, and they were about as bland as the food itself. Most everyone here gets "let go" abruptly, so the turnaround is always high. I know some people are just sub-par workers, but Demos' has a reputation of chewing employees up and spitting them out. The food doesn't taste good, and knowing these details doesn't make me feel good eating here. No thanks.

I have been going to Demos' in Murfreesboro since the late 90s, and it is always a good experience. The service is always superb, and the food is always well seasoned and prepared. When things don't go quite right at Demos;, they are quick to resolve any issues... and honestly, it's been VERY rare that something hasn't gone right during the MANY times we've eaten here. My only disappointment is that they used to have a dessert called raspberry bash that they never seem to have any more... it was SO good! My favorite dishes are the club steak and the chicken salad, but the pastas are delicious as well. I've never tried something I didn't like!

  • Mavis J.

Get the chicken rice soup....it's a must have, even if you only get a cup...but you have to try it. The steak has no gristle and a great lean cut. Salads are average, but great dressing. The tea with the sugar water is the best! Friendly staff, efficient service, large parking area, Will be back!

A Murfreesboro tradition!! I've always loved this place for one reason. VALUE. Not only is it the best steak in Murfreesboro, but it's only about $9 for that steak! Plus all the bread and sides that you get? Fuggedaboutttit. Love the steaks, AYCE Soup and salad (make sure to ask for all the extras on the salad), Love the Browned butter and garlic sauce on the spaghetti, LOVE LOVE LOVE the Mexican Spaghetti!!! Absolutely amazing service every time you go. They NEVER miss a beat. They can be full to the brim with people and have an hour wait (very common), but the service will always be great and you will never feel rushed. Just a great place for any occasion!

Cheap prices but bland food meant for the senior crowd. I don't know why people rave of this place

I am surprised at the negative reviews here. I LOVE this place!! I am admittedly a pasta fan and I really like the variety of sauces that Demo's has to offer. Ask them for a sample of the sauces and they will gladly bring you enough to make a decision on what suits you best. My favorites are the blackened chicken alfredo and the browned butter sauces. I can't say it's the best thing I've ever eaten, but I am a fan and always look forward to returning.

Horrible food! Pasta was cold, sauce was gritty and seafood was chewy...won't be coming back anytime soon! Very disappointed!

Fantastic and polite service every time. My 7 year old loves their famous soup. Doesn't look like a lot of parking, but there is all the way around the building.

Excellent Food, and tastes the same everytime! It is nice knowing you are going to get the same quaility everytime! Service is always top notch! Demos is always my go to for great food. I advise the mozarella chicken!

This has been my favorite restaurant since I first tried the baked chicken and rice soup at the ripe age of 5. It cures all ailments from the flu to depression. I could eat their soup for every meal if I still lived in Murfreesboro. Everything on the menu is good as I've probably been several hundred times and while my parents have experimented with the pepper steak medallions, Mexican chili spaghetti, chicken salad served from a pineapple, and many more, I go with all you can eat soup and salad everytime. The bread is delicious, the tea is sweetened however you like with simple syrup, and the service is the best you will find anywhere, guaranteed. Uhhh let's see, did I mention the soup?

The food was pretty good and reasonably priced. I had the mexican spaghetti and my wife had the blackened chicken pasta. The service was also friendly and efficient. We will defintely.stop again when we are in town.

This restaurant is a staple of this city and it's pretty darn good. It can be categorized as a cheap eat, however, the ambiance, service, and menu make you feel like you could take a date or celebrate a special occasion if you can't afford it. Granted, there isn't anything on this menu that's going to blow your hair back and if it tastes, 'amazing,' it's probably because it's covered in salt and/or butter. But as I usually say, 'you get what you pay for.' And this place is worth every penny. Decent food at a great price in a place where everyone treats you like a gentleman.

Always consistently good. Love the blackened chicken Alfredo and their Sirloin steaks. You can't beat the prices either.

When traveling, head to a local Yelp favorite, that's my motto. First impressions - pretty uninspiring. Might have just ate at the bar, but a couple of the staff were using it to prep - silverware, napkins, etc. Lighting is a bit dim, and the carpet's been around a while. Things picked up after I was seated. The service was very friendly. They had Fat Tire on tap - bonus! While waiting for my food, I see they have pictures posted around the restaurant of how the restaurant used to look. The one by me said 'your view from 1990'. Kind of a cool idea. Then a waitress walks by with the biggest bun hairdo I've ever seen - like she'd added a second and third story to her hair. Ok, you say - what about the food. My recommendations include the Greek dressing (unique and tasty), Jim's spinach, and the Fajita Steak which was very tasty. As Arnold once said "I'll be back".

I really don't understand all the raves. The parking lot is often full here but I think maybe it's more because there is a small town tradition of going to Demo's and people knowing the Demo's family, back before other restaurants came to town. My experience here was very so-so. Service was good, but food was very mediocre. I ordered tilapia (I think) which was fine but nothing special. The salad was very cheap, iceburg lettuce style. I did enjoy the yeast rolls, but again, seemed like a cheap product. To me the place seems like a good place for old-timers with happy memories made here, but lacks panache and flair. Felt old, outdated, and like a good place to get a lot of cheap food, cheaply. It seemed like buffet food. It was just so uninspiring that I even got a coupon in the mail for $10 off (which could be a meal) and still didn't go back.

So returning from Atlanta, we stopped here for dinner (perfect timing to as it was dinner time). The food is always tasted, hot and fresh. I got some of the baked chicken soup with my bacon wrapped steak and green beans. The steak was cooked perfectly and the beans were well seasoned. As for the soup, excellent as always. One thing I love about this place is the variety and quality of the food. They also seem to have just remodeled this location and I love what they have done with it.

Demos is great. Especially for lunch. You can't beat the quality of food for the price. Plus, it is nice not to go to some national chain for similar food. Old school 'Boro.

I don't think I've ever seen so many people at a restaurant on a Thursday evening at 5:30 pm! Wading through the throngs of people to get to the host, I was a little hesitant to even ask how long the wait would be--fortunately, it was only 25 minutes. Once we were finally seated, the server was friendly and promptly brought a basket of the Demos' bread. While it was soft and fresh, it was way too greasy/buttery for my liking. As my appetizer, I went with a cup of the famous Demos' baked chicken soup. Personally, I found it rather bland--nothing but shredded (and seemingly unseasoned) chicken, rice, and broth. With a little black pepper, it was a good start to the meal. I ordered the sirloin steak and "famous" spinach for my main course. The garlic and parmesan cheese gave the spinach a great flavor, but this, too, was on the oily side. My steak came out medium-rare, just as I had ordered--though definitely more on the "rare" side. The majority of the steak was a pretty good cut of meat, though there were a couple of tough sections. Overall, though, it was a pretty standard to better-than-average steak. All in all, it was a good meal, but I'm not sure the wait justifies at trip to Demos'.

Great hamburger steaks, sirloin, and pastas! I almost always order a hamburger steak with brown butter spaghetti or grilled zucchini. Their rolls are always fresh and super tasty. Be sure to pair it with their chicken and rice soup! I do wish their service was better and they didn't treat their employees poorly.

  • Hope D.

The fact that this place has so many 5-star reviews, says a lot about Murfreesboro. I just don't see the appeal...at all. NOTHING I've ever ordered here has been good. The soup is all broth (and cold), the bread is soggy because it's soaked in butter, the salad was just a plate full of iceberg lettuce with a plastic cup of ranch sitting next to it, the pasta was soooo bland you'll thank the stars above salt & pepper is free, and the steak was chewy and dry. I honestly believe the people around here are "trained", like mindless zombies, to eat here simply because of its outdated local tradition. Definitely an older, senior crowd, which proves my point. Back in the day, the Demo's chain was one of the only options. So, all those people who frequented this place way back when, are still visiting simply because they don't know any better...not because the food is good. Because it's not. I do not recommend. Start your own tradition somewhere else at a restaurant that deserves your money.

Although the history of Demos' began in 1943, this was our first time getting a taste of Demos'. When reviewing the menu it appeared a little Greek & a little Italian. Started with the spinach dip, loved the dip not a fan of the chips - actually tasted better on the fresh house bread. We we ordered the lasagna it appeared more on the Greek side -I have been blessed to visit Greece 3 times & as the waitress brought the order to the table immediately thought Pastitsio. I enjoyed the Blackened chicken pasta. For dessert we enjoyed the blueberry delight (decomposed blueberry cheese cake). We had a wonderful waitress Katie. She was very knowledgable of the menu, she brought us some samples of her different types of sauces. Katie made this first time visit one to remember. Can't believe after all these years we never stop to try this restaurant, glad we decided to stop while in Murfreesboro.

  • John T.

First off even though we screwed up our order they fixed it with no complaints. Second I have been coming here for years and have never had a bad meal. If it is not right they will fix it as long as you tell them and are courteous about it. I have seen several reviews on here with questionable validity. The parking lot always seems full but the wait is hardly ever over 10 to 20 minutes. Yes, it tends to be a family tradition place to eat but there is a little something for everyone here, adults and children alike.

I have eaten carry out from here twice now and it's been great both times. I got the Alfredo and I love the bread. My friend loves the chicken soup. And it's pretty tasty too.

As usual, my expectations were exceeded. I had the Giant Ribeye and a side of blackened chicken pasta and baked chicken soup instead of a salad. Can't get enough of those dinner rolls. Everything was perfectly seasoned and the service was absolutely awesome. Melanie was our server and made this a wonderful experience. Be back soon.

I just moved to Murfreesboro and have heard lots of good things about Demos'. I would say that this restaurant definitely met my expectations! The food tasted great and the cost was more than reasonable. Service was solid as well. Overall I was very impressed.

Consistently delicious! It's no wonder Demo's has been in Murfreesboro since I can remember! The menu is well priced and the service is always excellent! I've never had a bad experience. You can always count on Demo's to be consistent and busy!

My wife and I both ordered the seafood stuffed potato. It was excellent and I would give it five stars. The just baked hot bread with your meal is mouth watering. I highly recommend Demo's.

  • Ramses S.

The bread they serve is so good and they don't mind giving you as much bread as you want. My favorite thing to order here is the salmon it is so good and totally worth getting. The only thing about this place is that it is kinda expensive but totally worth it. The people that work there truly care about their job. I would have to say that I will definitely being coming back for more. So keep of the good work Demo's !!! If you're looking for a great place to eat at go to Demo's in Murfreesboro.

There was a time when I would tell anyone that was interested that my favorite place to eat is Demos. The food and service was always excellent, which is why I have been a regular customer for many, many years. It is the place I took dates, friends and celebrated all big events, like my birthday. Well, that brings me to my last visit to Demo's for my 50th birthday. As usual, when asked where I wanted to go for my birthday dinner, I selected Demo's. My 70+ year old mother drove to Nashville from South Florida to spend my birthday with me and wanted to celebrate this special day at my favorite restaurant. Twenty + family and friends came into town from all over to celebrate my birthday at Demo's. My mother brought a frozen Carvel ice cream cake to the restaurant earlier in the day as part of the celebration. "A Carvel cake was something very special that my Mom would do for me since I was a child." I am so disappointed with the customer service that we experienced that evening. There were (3) guests that did not like the "bacon wrapped filet of beef" that they ordered. We advised the server that they thought it was tough and tasteless and it, in fact, was not bacon wrapped filet but a tough steak with a strip of bacon laying on top. When we advised the server, I assumed that based on previous customer service from this establishment, it would be taken care of professionally. This was not the case, there was no attempt to make it right other than to offer another meal after everyone else had already eaten. Unfortunately, my bad experience did not end there. As I mentioned previously, my mother brought an ice cream cake earlier in the day to the restaurant to be served during our visit. When the time came for serving the cake, the server brought out the cake that was literally dripping ice cream from the container. The cake had melted because it was not placed in the freezer (it was an ice cream cake). To their credit, they did replace the cake but it was not even close to being equivalent to the cake that was ruined. Much to my surprise, although the meal did not come close to meeting my expectations based on my previous experiences at Demo's, nothing was done to make up for the this sub-standard food and service. I called the restaurant after finding out that none of the steaks were taken off the bill that my mother paid for. I asked to speak to the Manager but was given the Assistant Manager. She advised me that there was nothing she could do to make this right, but would have the Manager call me to discuss the matter. I never received a call back form the Manager, this was weeks ago. This is a very clear message of the importance of customer service. Customer service is normally defined as meeting or, even better, exceeding a customer's expectations. This simply did not happen. at the very least I feel they should of comp'ed my mother for the bad steaks and to reimburse her for ruining the cake she paid for. As I mentioned when I started this communication, I am a long term customer of Demo's but will no longer visit this restaurant in the future due to the lack of focus on your customers. I will not be back and will no longer recommend Demo's. looking for a new favorite restaurant. Michael P.S. After this review was posted, It got the attention of Mr Peter Demos. Peter emailed me with his concern of my horrible experience. We talked over the phone and after explaining what happened Peter assured me that the problem was addressed with his staff. He also reimburse my Mother and apologized to her , which made her feel better. I feel a lot better after speaking with Peter and knowing he made it right with my mother. I am not writing them off any more. I will return to Demos and give them a chance to show me that it is still a top notch restaurant of Murfreesboro, Tn. Thank you Peter Demos for showing me you care about your patrons. Michael

One of the best restaurants in the Boro. There's a reason it's always so decently crowded.. It's fantastic food at a good price. Their chicken and rice soup is AMAZING. There's something about their house ranch on their salads that keeps me coming back too. The only downside is there is usually a long wait if you go during busy times but it's well worth the wait.

  • Jason R.

Sweet mother of god! Is there anything they can't do? I can't stand Brussel sprouts and hominy but if Demo's made up a dish, it would simply be out of this world! I have traveled far and wide and Demo's is by far my favorite place to eat. The food is simply spectacular! Also affordable. An absolute must if you are in Murfreesboro or Nashville.

    (5)
  • Jason B.

A firm and consistent good experience for a value price. Far better than the new spin off Peter D's. I would eat here more often if there were not almost always a wait.

  • Adam R.

Excellent food, excellent service, excellent prices. What more could you want? We have been here dozens of times over the last couple decades, and keep coming back for more. You can't go wrong here, though at times you will experience quite a wait to get seated. Murfreesboro staple.

  • D D.

An early Mothers Day dinner was the occasion my son and I chose Demos' tonight. Being Tuesday, it was a slower night so we only waited about 5 minutes to be seated. I haven't eaten here in years, and not sure if I'll ever go back. We both had steaks .. I had the filet which was overcooked (server never asked me how I wanted it prepared), and the seasoning on my steak was so salty I couldn't taste the steak itself. My son's top sirloin was perfectly cooked to medium, as he requested, and he enjoyed his side of spaghetti very much. Overall it was OK but if I'd had to wait an hour to be seated, I would have been a lot more disappointed.

  • David B.

Steak and spaghetti on the same plate? Yes please! The knots are great, but the steak is phenomenal for the price! This is my favorite place to eat in the Nashville area! My whole family enjoys it. You'll have to wait in line, but the food and prices make it worth it!!!

The sauces here always tear my stomach up. The salad is lettuces and thats it, the bread is divine and have to give thumbs up for the great steaks. They seem to go through staff VERY fast so dont try to get a favorite server. Ambience is nice. The chicken soup is broth garlic and rice with chicken floating in it, whats the big deal? But for pasta I NEVER can eat here. Sad when Olive Garden beats them in that department (not a fan of that place).

    (2)
  • John B.

I have eaten here three times for social occasions organized by friends. Definitely not a huge fan, though inexpensive, I also find the food to be subpar. I have had pot roast and also grilled chicken pasta, both were way too salty and heavily processed. On the plus side the staff have always been friendly.

  • Tabitha S.

Very delish and very well priced. My family of four ate for a little over 50 bucks with both kids having sirloins, my hamburger steak, his salad, oh yeah and an app. Service was fast and friendly. My fiance loved the bread they bring you and their cheese toast is super yummy too. Recommend this place, very good.

Chicken soup. I would go to Demos' restaurant just to have their chicken soup. Actually, I did that today. Had their all you can eat chicken soup and salad. Their steaks are also very decent and come with your choice of spaghetti. The brown butter spaghetti is my favorite. I think the butter is scalded a little to make it brown, and it also adds a little something to the flavor, makes it deeper...? It's hard to explain, but the taste explains it all! They have a $4.99 and $5.99 lunch special that changes every day, which is a great way to try some of their dishes. The sweet tea actually comes as regular tea with liquid sugar on the side so that you can sweeten the tea to your taste, something I really like because most of the sweet tea in the Boro is way too sweet for me. Do go early to beat the rush, otherwise you will need to wait. They have a large waiting area that does get filled up during lunch and dinner time.

Ate here based on reviews from Yelp and another site. It was good. Not great, as I expected but good. I expected a nicer ambience but decor is very dated. The waitress was not knowledgeable about the offerings from the bar. She had to run ask the bartender questions and still didn't really answer my questions. At least she tried. I had the New York strip with vegetables and salad. The steak was cooked perfectly. The veggies were tasty. The salad was disgusting. A plate of mushy iceberg lettuce swimming in dressing. Nothing but lettuce and dressing on the salad. The waitress was very attentive and friendly. I would go back for a steak. Just a bit disappointed because I was expecting great not just good.

When I lived in Murfreesboro, my dad, stepmom and I love to get take-out from here when no one in the house feels like cooking. My favorite thing to get here is the all you can eat soup and salad. Their baked chicken soup is my favorite soup of all time. Their salad is also a very good quality and is very filling. We also ask for extra rolls each time as well, and they are so delicious. One of my favorite things to do is dip my roll into the soup broth...it's very tasty. I also accidentally dropped my bread into my ranch dressing once and found it to taste really good as well. XD Be prepared on the weekends for a packed parking lot and long lines...sometimes the wait can be an hour or more.

Ordered food to go two times and the staff was great. I love places that are willing to invest in quality people and train then well. The staff keep a smile and are patient and efficient. Food was great as always. Dedicated parking for takeout, but it would be nice if they brought to-go orders to your car.

Tried to go to Demo's a few times but every time I've been there it's been packed and hard to even find parking. Finally went and found a place to park. It was so totally worth the wait! It's a nice family owned place and the decor and atmosphere was incredibly cozy and welcoming. And the food! I literally had the best steak I've ever eaten. They have a 15 oz Ribeye, which I find to be an iffy cut of meat most places. They are either really good or really tough and stringy. I have heard people talk about steak so tender it would melt in your mouth but I never experienced it before I ate this Ribeye at Demo's. Incredible. Great portions. Really reasonable pricing. My mother had a seafood stuffed baked potato that she fell in love with. Can't speak highly enough of it. Service was also exceptional. MUST TRY!!!!

I do not get this place or why it had been rated best restaurant in Murfreesboro numerous times (Hopefully this is over now since Murfreesboro now has many terrific, new restaurants). I have been to Demo's twice now - each time was a disappointment. Back in 2000, my sister, her boyfriend, and I hit Demo's for dinner on a busy Saturday night. We were seated and started eating when we noticed the "managers" (whoever they were) walking around and checking to see how much food we had left. I understand they need to know how long to tell people they will have to wait for a table, but they did it like every 2 minutes! We felt completely uncomfortable, and did not return for 10 years. My mother and I went to Demo's last Saturday for lunch. What a waste! Way too expensive (the price for my shrimp was listed as market price in the menu and ended up costing us 16 dollars). FOR LUNCH! Who do they think they are? Also, you do get a salad with your meal. But guess what? If you want ANYTHING on it, you have to pay extra. All you get is lettuce. I had to pay 50 cents for cheese! Again, who do they think they are??? Ridiculous. I guess it is a good place if you are an old person with no teeth and want to gum some disgusting looking spagetti. Skip it!

Maybe I didn't order the right meal, but the cheeseburger I got was not impressive, neither were the choices for sides...

We are regulars at Demos'. The servers are very well trained, competent & friendly. Food is always consistently superb. Best value for delicious food in the 'Boro. Delicate, fresh rolls. Delicious, simple salads with house made dressing. The most flavorful chicken and rice soup imagined. I always choose a side of Spaghetti with Meat Sauce with my perfectly prepared, finely seasoned 13-16 ounce Ribeye. My wife loves their Blackened Chicken Stuffed Potato. There isn't a bad choice on the menu. Enjoy their incredible Cherry Delight after your memorable meal and write your own raving review after!

Demos' is a local favorite! As everyone says, their chicken & rice soup is perfection. They even manage to make an iceberg salad with little else in it taste fantastic ( I think it's their dressings). I have NEVER ordered a burger there and probably never will. Why? Because it isn't their specialty. Stick with the soup, salads, pastas and steaks. Jim's sauteed mushrooms are awesome, their chicken salad served in half a pineapple is nice, I love their sirloins, and my #1 of all time is the Blackened Chicken Baked Potato. Holy smokes, it is amazing but very heavy...be ready for a nap afterward. Beyond that they run their place like the Army - the service is friendly and beyond efficient.

Sadly, I have to agree with Melissa L. I've been twice, and both times thought the food was mediocre at best. The atmosphere was nice, the service was excellent, but the meal itself was only passable. The last time I went, I ordered the sirloin while my friend got the chicken fettuccine. Neither she nor I were impressed. Perhaps it was just an off-night, or the place was so busy that the kitchen staff couldn't give the attention they normally would, but either way, two similar visits mean I likely won't be going back.

Clean, affordable, consistent, and delicious! Service is always outstanding, attentive but never intrusive. Even though my friends and I are "starving students" with very lean pocketbooks, we love getting together and going out to eat here every time I am in town. We come here for parties, birthdays, reunions, or no reason at all. My favorite entree is the 7 ounce sirloin, medium rare, with a baked potato and Demos' traditional homemade chicken soup. That would cost you about ten dollars. If you just want a soup or salad, you can order all you can eat of either for about three dollars. The food is also consistently made well: There isn't a certain time of day you should go, it will always taste fresh and homemade. You might want to avoid the dinner rush on the weekends, however- The large waiting area fills up lightning fast.

My favorite place to eat when I'm in Murfreesboro. I graduated from MTSU a couple of years ago and miss going here for their $4.25 lunch specials with my sister. There is one closer to me in downtown Nashville, but I love the Murfeesboro one more for their easy parking!

Murfreesboro is a foodie black hole - except for Demos'. While it is not spectacular, I have never had a bad meal. The chicken soup and bread is a meal alone, but the steaks are also good. Service is always good and friendly. A local favorite!

I ate a Demo's in Nashville, TN many years ago and it was very good. The Murfreesboro restaurant was very disappointing. The "crab" in the seafood dishes was fake; the rolls were so-so because we were starving; the steak was not cooked to order; the kids' pasta was barely tolerably and looked like something out of a Kraft box. Fortunately, the food is not terribly expensive or it would rate a one-star. I'm done with Demo's.

All in all you're not going to beat this place anywhere that I know of. There's just one thing - and I almost hate to say it, but it needs to be said: You're not going to get a "medium well" strip steak here - not gonna happen. My wife and I have been there many times. I always order the strip medium and she orders it medium well. They both always come out exactly the same. Pretty close to the light side of medium usually, but NEVER medium well as she likes it. The steak is pretty thick and they just can't manage to get it up to medium well no matter what. We've finally given up on that so we go to J&G's in Manchester for steak now. Too bad, Demos' is great - if you don't want a medium well steak.

Are you here yet? Why not?!? Great restaurant and worth the wait, no matter how long the line. Everything I've ever had here has been wonderful, and the service is always top notch. The value for what you get is very high, and the meals are super-satisfying. Recommended entrees: K.C. Strip with brown butter noodles for the steak lovers, spaghetti and meatsauce for the kids, and endless soup and salad for whoever wants more chicken & rice soup and salad than you can handle. Salad dressings and rolls (also endless) are made on site and are the best you can get in a restaurant. Stop reading and get to eating!

Everything here is GREAT!!! The price is even better ... My husband and I can eat steak with all the fixins'and have coffee or tea for around $20.00 ... Nowhere have I found such a delicious menu as Demo's. If you want steak, pasta, soup or salad, this is the place to be. The wait staff and atmoshpere is just what you ordered!!!!

I think I may be the only person in Murfreesboro who doesn't like Demos'. I've only eaten here twice and maybe I've just had the misfortune of ordering the wrong thing both times, but I don't know that I want to go back and find out. I don't know what I ordered the first time, but the second time I ordered the seafood sauce spaghetti. The crab tasted like imitation crab meat and the rest of the seafood tasted like it came from a can. Not my idea of good food. The service was good. The food was affordable, but I just did not enjoy eating it. I would recommend going elsewhere.

Ordered the Garlic/Mushroom pasta! little short on the garlic, but still great. Side salad with greek dressing was great. Our waiter was fast, even though the place was lined out of the door. I love thier bread. Also as an appetizer the Chips with sour cream, chili, cheese are a plus!!

I love this place. I've been going for 10+ years and never have had bad service. It's clean, comfortable, and the soup is DELICIOUS! I recommend the sirloin sandwich with soup and a baked potato.

By far one of the best restaurants around. Fantastic food at a great value for your money. We have NEVER had bad food or service here. Great for a romantic date or for your family. Expect a wait if you go around the normal dinner and lunch hour.

Really great value and surprising flavor in every bite. I ordered the sirloin and was amazed what a $12.95 steak could taste like. It was thick, juicy and grilled to a perfect medium as requested. The pasta with meat sauce on the side was a winner as well. I sat at the bar and was waited on by an attentive friendly bar maid. Cheese bread app was loaded with cheese and delicious. I will return on my next trip to M-town. Give them a try all of us "Yelpers" can't be wrong.

I've been to Demos' three or four times and have been thoroughly disappointed every time. When I first moved to M'boro, everyone I knew raved about the place, and I was interested when I finally made it there with some coworkers. First, definitely slot some time, since it is almost always crowded and you will have a wait. (Just an FYI, since I never mind a wait, but it's nice to know if you are short on time) The food isn't super pricey and they have decent prices on their lunch specials, but the food I received made me wish I was paying more and getter better quality. Everyone in town raved about the chicken rice soup, so I tried it. Blech! It was bland, tasted cheap, and waaay to salty. I also ended having the worst Greek salad that I've ever tasted. The main courses were mediocre - not bad, but not really worth paying restaurant prices for. I won't be back - there's lots of other places in town I'd rather spend my money.

The food and service were impeccable. There may be a bit of a waiting period to be seated but the wait is definitely worth it. We enjoyed a drink and pleasant banter with the bar staff while we waited to be seated. Our server was excellent and I look forward to returning soon.

Love this place. the waitress was wonderfull, as was the food. I didnt get to eat it all because i had dessert a little earlier so i was still full. We didnt have to wait very long to get served and I plan on going back when I am not so full. I will try to update on my next visit since i discovered yelp i will try to comment more

Four stars because of the value. I had the fettuccine, my wife had spaghetti, and my son had the filet. All were very good although mine could have been served hotter. The baked chicken soup was very good. Service was good and the price was fantastic. We'll be back.

Great food paired with sometimes average service. Well worth the wait at the door for a table. I love the blackened chicken pasta and the ribeye steak is the best in Tennessee.

I was surprised by the food. It was a lot better than I expected and the price is very good. It is a very busy place for dinner, but I think it's worth the wait. If you haven't been to Demos' give it a try. You wont be disappointed.

Good, to be sure. But not what I expected. The food was decent, and pretty well priced, but the service seemed rushed - anxious to get us in and back out so the table could be used for the next patron. As far as taste goes - again good, but not spectacular. Quality and portions were much like the other local fast dinner restaurants. I'm sure we'll be back, but it won't be a priority.

Good honest food. Not overly done, nor over the top. Good values w/ good service. You will wait in line at dinner times, but it is worth it on most occasions. The stakes are heavily seasoned, but luscious if you like them that way (as I do). We usually sit at the bar so we don't have a wait. Many of the bar tenders will treat you well if you treat them well. The spinach dip as an app. is SUPER. My wife and I don't even discuss the choice anymore - it's a given we are going to get it.
