Definitely some of the best curry you can find in Maryville. The food is always delicious. When they're busy, it's not the fastest place however. They have a wide selection of sushi options including some vegetarian/ vegan options as well as noodles, hibachis, tempura, rices, and curries. Definitely a must try for the area.

Today was my first time eating here. I met a friend here for dinner to try the place out. The food was amazing. Everything was tasty and came out hot. I got a tempura bowl and my friend ordered a noodle dish. You have to try their desserts! We tried two; the dessert kabob and the tempura cheesecake. They were both amazing. There are a few negatives though. The staff is pretty slow. It took a bit of time for us to get our food and get refills on drinks. The place itself could use a little work. It's a bit scuffed up inside (our booth was a little worn out and the walls need a bit of a cleaning). The price is a bit high as well. Though not outrageous, but high all the same. The food definitely makes up for any negatives though. I really would recommend trying it. I will be going back soon.

I regularly visit Anaba for sushi. It's a small restaurant with good service most the time. I have been there once when it took 45 minutes for our sushi order. I only order nigiri. I love their smoked salmon and yellow tail. The nigiri is made perfect usually two small bites with less rice then other sushi I have eaten. My husband loves all the spicy sushi rolls, his favorites are Pearl Harbor and the tuna fire. The other dish which is really good is the fried chicken tenders. They are made with panko crumbs and perfectly spiced!! Overall great restaurant with good prices and great sushi.

Love this place! Coming from NJ to TN we missed good authentic sushi until we found this place, what a treat. We have probably ate here a dozen times and haven't had a bad meal yet. The chefs are Japanese, the menu is abundant ( written in 1/2 English & 1/2 Japanese for all their frequent Japanese visitors from nearby Denso company which means accountability to me :) ), and have very fresh food. Of coarse you can get your America sushi and hibachi but also fantastic sashimi, soba noodles, beef tendons in miso, salmon collars, takoyaki, and more. Beer on draft or bottle and wine is a bonus. A must stop for those who know good sushi or just want plain great Japanese food.

Our absolute favorite! Moving back to TN after seven years in Japan we didn't expect to find anything as good as Anaba. It is absolutely authentic. The menu covers all the bases from katsu curry comfort, hibachi style beef or chicken, and some American style sushi done the right way. If you've had a chance to experience great Japanese food that still haunts your hungers...you'll find satisfaction at Anabas. They run specials that make it easy to sample around the menu. And they have Kirin Ichiban on tap! Gotta like that! This is the real thing. If you live here or a just passing through you gotta try it for great Japanese food.

I adore Anaba. It's our local Japanese place, and we eat there once a week. I usually get the steak hibachi, which is delicious. I used to not be a big fan of sushi, but I've had a couple of rolls there and they're pretty tasty. Not the most amazing sushi ever, but certainly edible. One thing to note is that they don't use a ton of rice in their rolls. One thing I will say is that sometimes we're in and out incredibly quickly, and other time it feels like it's taking them forever to cook the food. We went there one weekday late at night, and it took a half hour to get our food. There were only two other tables, so I was a bit surprised, but our waiter was extremely apologetic and did a great job regardless. All in all, it's a delicious, cute place to eat here in Maryville!

Food was decent. Vastly understaffed for a Saturday night. Waitress could use more training, but she was alone so that could have been a factor . Overall I did not enjoy my experience. Probably would not return.

Wonderful experience! I was in town on business and my coworker recommended Anaba for sushi. They have a large variety of rolls and several non-sushi dishes as well. I dined with two colleagues, and was a little concerned when our waitress, Whitney, didn't write down anything when we placed our large order. When roll after roll came out and our order was 100% accurate, I was very impressed with her, and she was a fantastic waitress. Our favorite rolls were the Ninja and the Yummy Tummy, but everything we ordered was delicious. There prices are quite reasonable, and I plan on coming back next time I'm in Maryville.

Anaba is a cute little place here in Maryville...super sweet waitstaff and incredibly efficient. Every roll we ordered was prepared lightning fast. They use a very small amount of rice for their rolls, which is good if you're on a low-carb diet, but it can make the rolls seem a bit small. Overall very tasty!

Visited here while in the Knoxville area. Outstanding sushi. Great presentation. I tried the Irodori roll. It was great and different than any roll I've tried before. My friend tried the tuna fire roll. He likes heat and he said it was HOT. The service was pretty good too. Overall I highly recommend this place.

Me likes, me really likes. Anaba is a cool Japanese restaurant with a wide variety of menu options and a cute atmosphere. I went to Anaba because someone told me the sushi is AMAZING, and I gotta say I agree. Not only are the rolls good, but they are awesomely priced. You're also able to get half rolls, so I could sample pretty easily. I opted for the chicken teriyaki roll and the firecracker roll. My firecracker was a combo of deep fried goodness and served hot. Loved, loved, loved it! Happy Hour is from 5-7 so I took advantage of that too! $3 10-cane rum, stoli drinks, and something else. Drinks and good sushi, I'm a fan!

This is for the Anaba in Knoxville, TN off of Northshore. I do not like sushi (or any seafood) but my wife does. She loved her rolls (eel, california, and some other kind). I had the chicken tempura and these MAGNIFICENT fruit rolls (rice, strawberry, coconut juice, and a couple of other small pieces of fruit). The chicken portion was pretty big and the batter was spot on. It was served with a side of freshly shaved ginger and wasabi- both of them were far superior to any other I've had. On to the fruit rolls. WOW. These were juicy, just crisp enough, so fresh and invigorating I could eat them until I got sick. I almost did. The service was great- everyone was nice. The interior is minimalistic with a nice indie/asian vibe. It's not cheesy or over the top. The prices weren't steep I guess; I don't price sushi anywhere else. But the food is so good paying $1-4 dollars more than [generic chain restaurant] is an easy decision. We will definitely eat here many times in the future.

Nice to have such a good quality Japanese restaurant! This place is good for all people, such as families, couples, and friends. As a Japanese, I guarantee It's not the fake Americanized Japanese food. I ate "Agedashi Tofu," the tofu that is fried, and it was huge and tasty. One day I stopped by about at 2:40pm, almost close time, but the staffs didn't mind even though I stayed longer. They are helpful and friendly.

We brought our 15 year old granddaughter and her best friend for our first visit ever. The server was very helpful for us novices. We selected six or seven different kinds of sushi for the table to share. Every one of them was delicious! The Philadelphia and the Caterpillar were favorites. We will definitely go again.

Everything thas has been said already is absolutely true! I had my first visit here last night and was totally shocked. First impression was "oh no, not another failed attempt of a sushi restaurant" . When I walked in every table was dirty and to me this could be a good thing or bad. Good if they have been so overwhelmingly busy and just didn't have time to clean. Bad if it was just a bunch of lazy employees. After sitting down I started reading through the menu and was shocked on the quantity of items and the value of the prices. I quickly opted for the hibachi steak with a tomato basil soup instead of salad. The soup came out in a slightly chunkier texture than I was accustomed too but was very good! Then the main dish came out and you could smell it leaving the kitchen! Just the right amount of food to make you feel miserable after but in a totally satisfied way. I will definitely go back to try more from their delectable and extensive menu. Also like previously stated by the other yelpers, everyday there is a different special that is sooooo cheap!

My wife and I both love this place. Probably the best sushi in Knoxville, and the Japanese and Greek dishes are exceptional as well. I love being able to have sushi, ramen and falafel all in the same meal!

We really enjoyed our dinner tonight! We had tempura shrimp sushi, inari nigiri, cucumber roll, edamame, vegetable curry, shrimp curry, and udon. Delicious, with wonderful ambiance and service - a perfect addition to our Blount County selection of restaurants!

I won't lie - the food is so so good, fantastic. I love the sushi chef, and even the cooked stuff is yummy. But we've had the same server (at the bar) each time and he is so astoundingly terrible, rude, offensive, horrible etc. that I don't see us ever returning. We aren't picky and are both seasoned ex-servers and are generally well-behaved, and I insist on having a good time when we eat out and will overlook bad service, but this guy's behavior will not be ignored and has ruined our night for the last time.

Since we moved here almost 4 years ago, I had searched in vain for a _good_ Japanese restaurant. I had to settle for "ok" until Anaba opened. This place is really good! I know quality sushi, having grown up in southern CA, where there's a sushi place on almost every corner. If they weren't good, they went under. Anaba can compete with the best of them. I've gleefully munched my way through the menu, and everything has been top rate. They also serve Greek food, and the chicken lemon soup (known as Avgolemono) is also divine. Monday nights, all tuna items are half price, and Tuesday nights, all shrimp items are also half priced. There's even food for the non-adventurous folk. I can't recommend Anaba highly enough. Go there!
