Wonderful service and great atmosphere. Locally owned and operated. Hour change with the seasons so be sure to check the hours before you make the drive. Martin, TN is a small community filled with a lot of kind people.
I grew up in Martin and KN has been a local favorite forever. The cheeseburger with slaw is delicious. Great onion rings and of course root beer in a frosty mug. You can also get root beer by the gallon to take home. For something different try the pizza burger
I was very wary of this place as the sign is broken and I hardly knew the place was open before I tried it for lunch one day and boy was I pleasantly surprised! The service is fast and friendly, the food is good and the root beer is excellent. The burger was much better than fast food burgers and very reasonable. The tater tots were great also. Best part is definitely the root beer though, and if you're not into root beer be sure to try the pink lemonade made in house. Very good...To top it all off their shakes are awesome, so creamy and lots of flavor. The peanut butter is my favorite but they're all good! To sum up this is a great hidden gem that looks run down and beat up but is serving up good food at very reasonable prices. Anyone in Martin should definitely give it a try. *Note before going they do not accept credit cards, bills over $20 or out of county checks*

Parking sucked and it was hot as hell in the place but the Food was good though. The Reuben is a tasty sammich
Very good food. Have ate there a few times now and the food is always consistent. I have had the chicken cordon bleu melt and the Italian sub and both are amazing. The hummus w pita bread is a good started and they have 4 different flavors of teas. Highly recommended and will definitely visit any time in the Martin area!
Good food great service. Little high on price but plenty of food. Love the hot cookies and u can pick your peppers. Love this place

This place is actually really good. It would figure that Martin gets somewhere I would actually frequent AFTER I leave the college there and move away from the area. I actually liked it better than I do Sweet CeCe's (I know; how dare I). There are more yogurt flavors to choose from and they offer so many more toppings. You can also get bubble tea here, which is something I had never heard of until I moved to Nashville. They sell food, too; things like chicken strips and fries, I think, but it seems that their clientele goes mainly for the yogurt. If you are in town visiting the college or family or whatever, check this place out. I want it to stay open!

Really good non-restaurant pizza! Plus, it's the perfect place to get something to eat late at night when you don't like McDonald's.

Nice lunch out. I stopped by with my brother to check out this nicely decorated establishment in downtown Martin Tennessee...Home of the University of Tennessee at Martin. We couldn't tell if they were open...leaves and dirt on the sidewalk in front of the door seemed reminiscent of the ghost towns of the wild west. I checked the door and it was open. Someone from the back walked up and seated us. My brother wanted to leave as soon as he saw the linen tablecloths and two forks on the table (too pricey for him). I enjoy nice places...especially if the food matches the atmosphere and the service. I mentioned the dirty front to the Host. We were dressed in our farmer clothes and CO Op hats. The waiter came over with the menus and was attentive. Even made suggestions after the order of Reuben and Caesar Salads that we may want the half sandwich and salad combo. I don't know if it was the dress...the price...or him just trying to be suggestive. I assured him that my brother and I weren't the type to eat half of anything....lol. The meal was enjoyable. Great salad. The Ruben was served on marbled rye with plenty of sauerkraut. A little shy of corned beef but acceptable and a side of homemade chips...a little crunchy but flavorful. After looking around...plenty of people were coming in for lunch. I realized that the front door must really be the back door (even though it faced main street) because the hostess stand and everyone else were coming in the back..or the front...I guess. Enjoyed the meal...left the waiter a little better than average tip...just to prove I could and walked out the front...or the back... whatever. The trash was still there as we stepped over it. Confusing and dirty entrance ..to me does not promote new customers, especially in a college town that has a constant influx of new and potential customers. I know they could use more customers..there was plenty of room in the dining area. Maybe they do excellent evening business and aren't that concerned about lunch.
I give it 4 stars not because it's amazing, but because it's probably the best place to eat in Martin. Fairly good drinks and a decent beer selection make it the best, non-trashy bar in town. The prices are a little steep for the quality, but the food is actually pretty good and the location and decor definitely top anything else in town. The only real downside is the number of self-important Martin "elite" that frequent the bar at night ... it's kind of annoying to be surrounded by old, petite-bourgeoisie Martians sipping over-priced chardonnay's. But it beats being surrounded by the bar flies, frat boys and desperate chicks at the other bars.
My husband and I were visiting Martin for a romantic Valentine weekend. Our B&B owner recommended the Opera House. The atmosphere was delightful. The food on the other hand was just OK. Being from a large city where white linen table cloths are a norm I may not be the best judge for this Restaurant. We started the meal with loaded homemade chips. They should change the name to exploding chips- very messy. Tom had a rib eye and I had the grilled pork chops. Both were OK but we've had much better. The drinks were the best part of the evening - Tennessee Tea and Phantom Cosmo.

Do not be fooled by the long lines at lunch; they move quickly. Sara is the absolute best front counter person. If she is there, you will leave happy. I have left frustrated after others have helped me, so just be aware of that. The food is usually hot and fresh (daytime at least) and the place is usually clean.

I live in Florida for 18 years, so I am a little picky on Mexican food. This my favorite mexican restaurant in Martin, but it isn't extraordinary. The salsa is OK, but it is pureed, and I prefer mine more chunky, they do have AWESOME fajitas, but you have to pay for extra tortillas (they only give you 2 small ones). I do not like their chimichangas (which is my favorite burrito type food...usually). their queso blanco is yummy, but their grouund beef in general is dry and flavorless, so stick to the chicken
Good food, good service, and good prices. I liked the flavor of the salsa. I would definitely go back again.
My second favorite Mexican restaurant in Martin. Good service, good food and ok prices. One of the better places to eat in Martin. Good location downtown as well.

Taco Bell

Reviews:
I don't usually review fast food establishments, but this one deserves a review. This was probably the worse Taco Bell that I have ever visited! I took my family to Taco Bell for a late supper last night (my daughters choice), and was that a mistake. The restaurant is very nice and appeared very clean, but the level of service that I received was very poor. The young man taking our order didn't seem too interested in taking our order. When the food was served, I also discovered the preparation staff wasn't too interested in preparing the food. I ordered a taco salad and it was very poorly made and substandard compared to other Taco Bell's I have visited. My daughter ordered a bean burrito with sour cream. The burrito arrived without any sour cream and hardly any refried beans. The rest of the items ordered were also substandard. I won't be visiting this Taco Bell again
