I went expecting this to be a great small town restaurant, I went with a buddy who is from Madisonville and he spoke very highly of the joint. Okay so when our waitress arrived I wanted to get a great appetizer and went down the list of...hey do you guys batter your own fried mushrooms...now they're frozen, how about your cheese sticks...now there frozen...and so the story goes. Most every thing seemed more like frozen food than fresh. I did ultimately get a gyro which was very tasty and wasn't frozen...trust me I asked. I'll be back to try the pizza I heard it was good but at this point I'm not a big fan.

Went here for a quick bit with my good friend and Monroe County insurance guru, Pat Pennington. The server was prompt, well presented and very helpful with the menu. I ordered exactly what she suggested. The grilled chicken salad with ranch dressing. I think they make their own dressing. if they don't I for sure need to know where that stuff came from it was so good. I not only ate the entire salad but two breadsticks and a sweet tea to boot! Let's just put it this way, I had a high waisted belt on my dress and took a deep breathe in and exhaled after lunch and POP! My belt snapped clean off. Seriously, you will not want for seconds here!

If you like flavorless, americanized Italian food in portions no human could ever consume...then this is the place for you!! If you like bad service...come on in! My table was decently happy...but only because they are a bunch of old ladies from the south. Most southerners wouldn't know real good food if it slapped them in the face. I live in an old old old Italian neighborhood in Chicago. I have had REAL Italian food. I work in a REAL Italian bakery. The Patio was disgusting. My shrimp alfredo tasted like butter. No seasoning. Very few shrimp. Our server checked on us once...and that was before we got our food. We were a table of 10 and never got soda or water refills. NEXT!!!!!!!!!!

Like one of the reviewers said if you want great Italian food go to an Italian neighborhood. The food here is OK, the bread sticks and tomato sauce are always good and hot and delicious as a free appetizer while waiting for your meal. The pizza is average to above average and the other dishes seem to appears and taste kind of average, nothing that knocks your sock off and makes you start moaning over the taste. BUT they have WONDERFUL cakes that have slices so large two people can eat one slice. 5 stars on the cake! I go to this restaurant almost monthly due to the pizza and cake.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
